  1. just use LogMeIn to log from your phone on to your home computer and control it.

that's what I was doing for crafitng. works well for that. you just can't move around very well

  2. so in order for this to work even REMOTELY well we need to keybind all 3 together.

meanwhile, in other MMOs this works perfectly fine as one single keybind to the TAB key ...

Call me lazy or maybe I have high expectations, but I would expect the default tab targeting to work right

    out of the box appropriately.

If 2 players are center screen in front of me and 6 players are scattered much further behind them, I would expect my

first TAB to target one of the two in front of me. Instead, I am targeting someone halfway across the map.

  3. That could be your off hand missing though which has a considerably less accuracy chance. The off hand does only a fraction of the damage which makes me wonder if a higher crit(surge) can compensate for missing with your off hand more

i've noticed this as well, but certainly Rail Shot also misses quite a bit or I just happen to notice it more.

    I'll check my logs.

    ** after checking logs **

seems rail shot rarely misses but is dodged sometimes.

Unload and Rapid Shots definitely miss about 25% due to offhand attacks

  4.

armor debuffs / damage mitigated by armor

    0 / 35%

    1 / 28%

    2 / 22.4%

    3 / 17.9%

    4 / 14.3%

    5 / 11.4%

    6 / 9.1%

    7 / 7.2%

    8 / 5.7%

(Mathematical note, I rounded off anything past one decimal.)

great post but this doesn't match the dev post at all (or am I reading it wrong?)

the dev states that with a 55% armor reduction (20% + 35%) a 35% DR boss then turns in to a ~19% DR boss.

So, I guess I am wondering where your math fits in with the dev math.

OR, does you list of "1" armor defuff equate to our 5-stacks directly or does it equate to 1-stack of our 4% debuff?

    thanks.

  5. Well sir then you arent using logic. You just said it would make your damage a LITTLE higher. If 4 stacks lowers DR by X then 5 stacks lower it by Y (Y being more) which would result in more damage.

your damage RANGE might be slightly higher ... this doesn't mean your damage DONE should be higher than the 4 stack.

if range is 1200-1400 and at 4 stacks you did 1380 damage ...

does that mean you MUST do more damage with 5 stacks? NO

your damage could be 1250 with 5 stacks right? YES

  6. So I asked the question twice already and provided combat log parser showing the issue and still no dev response. Someone please tell me why my abilities are hitting for less damage when more stacks of heat signature are applied? You can see from my previous posts in this thread that as my heat signature stacks went up my damage went down. in the small portion of a combat log I shared with 3 regular tracer missile hits in a row I showed that with no heat signature up I hit a target dummy for 1518 with a 2 stack up I hit for 1561 and with a 4 stack up I hit for 1484 all using the same ability tracer missile. The 5th stack brings the damage back to between a no stack and a 2 stack. This just doesn't make sense as it is consistently this way in every combat test I have done since. I tested on a friend to make sure the armor debuff was being applied. It seems to be reducing armor values correctly yet our damage is decreasing. Can a dev please explain to me why this happens or fix the problem please? I have seen a 500-600 dps loss since the 19th so obviously you guys broke something.

you are not guaranteed more damage with 5 stacks.

all you are doing is lowering the DR of the mob which would then just move your damage range a LITTLE higher.

I fail to see why you assume 5 stacks should ALWAYS do more damage than 4 stacks.

  7. Hiya,

I wanted to ask some questions about dps in HM Operations for a Marksman Sniper.

If you are in full rakata gear what should the expected dps be for fights like the EV Droid and Gharj, etc?

If dps is just below 1k what is an expected rotation to get closer to the 1200-1300 mark?

  8. Since my first post got overlooked I will do a smaller post asking the same thing.

Can a dev please explain to me why my 4 stack heat signature allows me to do more damage with my abilities than my 5 stack? Also the 4 stack doesn't seem to be giving its full benefit from armor debuff either. I have noticed if I do any damage ability with a 4 stack up then push it up to a 5 stack heat sig that I actually do less damage. Has nobody else noticed this?

Can you please provide a parse that justifies your statements?

    Thanks.

Doing 5 stacks is only -20% armor reduction.

Difference between 16% and 20% armor reduction? minimal at best.

If you take in to account the armor rating diminishing returns and the fact you have a damage range then

how can you determine your damage is "less"?

  9. Read the tooltip for armor.

Armor works for Energy and Kinetic DMG

Expertise is a general, all-inclusive DR

so, some shmoe hit me for 5500 so this would actually be a ~7000 hit? wow

I'm basically trying to figure out why wearing heavy armor and having a pvp DR of 20% makes me feel paper thin

when I get attacked by Pyro Powertechs or Marauders that know what they are doing.

the best I can do is stun them or throw them and try to make life miserable for them.

  10. Hello all.

I am really confused about Damage Reduction and Expertise Damage Reduction and how they apply in a PvP setting.

So, my normal heavy armor DR in the tooltip says I have 30% DR (questionable whether this works in general)

Also, with full Battlemaster gear my pvp stat says I get 20% DR

SO! Do I have 50% Damage Reduction?

  11. i think it's funny that the STEALTHERS can see the STEALTH SCAN.

seems counterproductive. the stealthers should not be able to see the scan so as to NOT be able to avoid it by sight.

  12. Yeah, he has heat management issues because he is in the wrong stance.

The equivalent would be if you were in Ataru Form but not an Annihilation spec

Your Merc (assuming he is arsenal tree since he has tracer missile) should be using High Velocity Gas Cylinder

From there you get a lot of heat benefits:

    1. Rail Shot is basically free

    2. Tracer Missile has a chance to vent 8 heat, etc

Damage-wise, Unload should be a LARGE chunk of the damage he does (over 25%)

For heat management Rail Shot should be used when available (since it is a free ability)

  13. Wow, Arsenal is still not fixed?

well as long as Barrage stays up and you have 2 pistols ... it seems to work.

the question is why does it drop sometimes and not others?

I need to test more. Some raids happening tonight so I'll double-check what Barrage proc

is doing during the raids and post again.

  14. Yeah, looking at the individual hits it doesn't appear as though Unload is doing more damage, but this is what bugs me:

    Fight 1: Unload

    Avg. DPS - 68.87

    Avg Hit - 69.7

    Crt% - 9.9

    Fight 3: Unload

    Avg. DPS - 40.62

    Avg Hit - 70.34

    Crt% - 12.74

With Fight 1, you're average hit is lower, probably because your Crits were lower, but overall the average amount of DPS you did was higher. Hidden metric?

you are being confused by what abilities are being used during the test.

In order to proc barrage you need to use Tracer Missile (ie: extra damage)

the non-barrage test he is just spamming Rapid Shots until Unload is ready again

Tracer Missile = more damage than Rapid Shots = higher dps

it is not a dps test however. it is a test of whether Unload gets an additional +25% damage when Barrage procs.

    Which it does not.

  15. I'm confused on how it's almost identical:

This is just looking at the overview though, and not individual hits.

BOTH had a max hit for Unload = 103 ... if Barrage worked then you should expect to see a few hits > 103 as compared to the non-barrage parse.

Also, look at individual non-crit hits (103 was a crit). Both parses show between 65-68 damage.

If barrage worked then that 65-68 damage should NEVER be there in the barrage parse.

That would then switch to (65 * 1.25 = 81-85) damage. THis NEVER is the case in the barrage parse but SHOULD ALWAYS BE the case if barrage actually worked.

So, if Barrage worked, a normal Unload hit should be 80+ damage. Instead, it is the exact same damage as the non-barrage parse (65-68).

  16. (corrected math to represent 25% damage from barrage)

this is actually VERY easy to test.

    let's take an example ...

my HIGH end damage on Unload = ~1500

my crit damage modifier = 77%

    this means a high crit on Unload = ~ 2655 (1500 * 1.77)

now, if Barrage actually worked then my high crit WITH barrage would be:

    1: 2655 * 1.25 = 3318

ANYWAYS, if this actually worked, then I would expect to see in my MANY MANY combat logs a FEW hits where I

did a HIGH crit during unload (AKA - a hit over 3000)

NEVER do I see this (just reviewed a TON of logs against bosses and trash)

My max hit is always right around the non-barrage crit number (~2655 with some DR thrown in so ~2400)

This is pretty sad assuming this basic math is correct.

You would expect to see in over 300 Unload attacks at least ONE +3000 hit ...

PLUS, to get BARRAGE you are actually DEBUFFING the mob at the same time AND you have a debuff stance ...

Makes me think NOTHING is working.

  17. I take it you are using three people to press the buttons up top. What you might be missing is that in 16-man, there is a debuff applied to the last person to press a button that prevents him from making the next action. This means that the person who pressed the fire button got the debuff and someone else was required to make the first move on the next puzzle.

It's up to you on how you want to solve that added feature.

thank you. I was not aware of this.

It would also explain why we got stuck when someone moved a piece that they shouldn't have.

Thanks! all is clear and we shouldn't have a problem now.
