I'm keeping up with warhero healers in my Sorc that's been a 50 for about a week and a half now. Life became a lot easier once I spec in to 20 points of lighting. My gut is telling me all the sorc/sage that got stomp on ptr and live pvped in full pve gear. !.2 name of the game is get as much Expertise as you can.

Lets say you are that skill of a pvper if I can pull off using a Sorc that's been 50 for 3 days now and keep up with war hero healers surely you can. It sounds like you have a lot more time healing with the class then me since my main before 1.2 was a IA healer. Do I get rock if I get heavy focus sure but I can still heal and help them, it also means they are drawing a lot of man power to keep me down which also helps my team. Last game I got jump as soon as I got 30 feet from a door in void star I got swarm and was curb stomp that whole game but I still helped. I mean one death I force speed off to a random corner away from the door and I had 3 of them seeing who could kill me first I die but we also got the door open because I kited them out. I might be able to do more healing on my IA but I have always value utility over raw power and you can do some really neat tricks with the Sorc. Fighting a stealther that vanish I do the rooting overload and now they are stuck were on my IA I can't fire off any aoe with out a target.

Me queing with out my tank 1. Load in 2. Me"Any tanks want a pocket healer this match?" 3. Get guard throw on me 4. ?????? 5. Top healing I bet anything all the Sorc/Sage that are in the camp that we can't heal, tried pvping in their raid gear and got cut in half over and over. I'm in recruit gear plus 2 battle master items and I can heal with melee on me just fine. We had a joke last night I had 2 matches in a row were I had a jedi shadow humping my leg the whole time. I've been healing on my Sorc for 48 hours, before that I was an IA and BH. My tank and I already have made a name for ourselves in just two days. Only reason I leveled this Sorc other then it was the only healer I was missing was all the crap I took on the PTR boards for trying to post that the spec wasn't dead. I was told many thing from I have no idea what I'm talking about(Been healing since EQ) to nothing I say matters since I don't have a Sorc to 50. So for all the healers thinking about healing all you really need is recruit gear and to let the tanks know your a healer and you pretty much always top healing.

Biggest tip for any new 50 Sorc/Sage get a full set of recruit gear asap

Healing would be a nightmare if there was a chance for CC to fail on top of resolve

I use LoS and a tank I fear good melee way more then range a corner counters any range

So been pvping pretty much 24 hours and I can say once I went 20 points in lightning I've had zero problems, hell my last game I had higher healing and objectives then the war hero healer on my team. I am in full recruit and end the night with battle master boots and gloves for 2pc. I think 90% of the doom and gloom that started in ptr boards and carry over to live was Sorc trying to pvp in raid gear, you do that in 1.2 and you go splat. I still die fast to good war hero melee but they two pvp tiers higher then me and I'm kinda ok with that. Hell I was scary of marduders with all the post about how if ones on you its just death, between Backlash, Force Speed and Electric Bindings I am a pain for any one melee to stay on me.

Healing been fine for me since I switch to 20 points in lighting for all the talents that help in pvp. To be fair I ding tonight and did half of the night pvping in full healing spec and then switch to the new hybrid spec. Stand by force speed has been the greatest pvp tool out of my 3 healers, allows me to get to targets that need healing faster, get los faster, make long jumps(hutt ball) ect. I play with a tank and with only time tonight I was like *** just kill me was a war hero melee smuggler but I'm in recruit gear so with a gear gap he should have own me. Also it was before I was spec in to backlash. With Guard and smart use of taunts it's really hard to kill any healer in the is game. Just point of view of a healer

So I took endless flaming and trolling on the ptr boards because I said the spec(healing) wasn't dead, even healing since EQ and having a BH and IA healer I was call a scrub and I know nothing till I hit 50 on a sage/sorc.. So today I ding bought all recruit gear(13k health) and pvp and did fine and always in top 3 healing I play as a team and always have a tank with me. The only time I got truly wreck was when a War hero smuggler melee single me out and with the gear gap it should have been like that. Try both healing specs tonight seems like specing in lighting for aoe root and faster cooldown on force speed might be worth more then the aoe heal.

Pve healer I got my 3rd heaelr to 50 got him the recruit gear tonight and was good to go. If the change went in with out the recruit gear it would be a lot of work for people to get both sets. But it took me all of 2mins to get pvp starter gear that also is better then my gear that I was wearing when I hit 50 tonight so in turn makes it easier to do flashpoints. Fastest way for a new 50 to gear up at least for a healer was for me to buy recruit gear so didn't really split anything for me.

I just ding 50 tonight, first thing I did was got all recruit gear. I was healing in full pve healing spec and did fine but then went the new spec that uses 20points lighting and had a much easier time getting melee off me.

Pvp, more gear everyone's damage, healing and defense go up I ding 50 on the baby sorc today and did find in the recruit gear fighting people that out gear me as a healer. But I stay with a tank in pvp and don't lone wolf it

I have two 50 healers working on Sorc now the thing that has standed out the most for me in pvp from their toolbox is force speed.

Everyone that quitting over nerfs common event with mmos, you know we all getting a month free so why not try to work out healing in 1.2 or play another class? I mean my baby Sorc I started in 1.2 should be level 40 tomorrow. Still top healing in warzones and solo a heroic name champ in pve tonight, I know none of this counts till I hit 50 but its still one really powerful class. I stand by one of the most powerful tools for me has been force speed for getting to people that need help, shortcuts and for escapes vs my other 2 healers..

Been thinking about it long draw out fights for us most of the time means our team is doing something right, if we are on the losing side trying to win a node back we going to die anyways or win the node both ending with a way to get force back so to speak. I think the best and easiest fix would give Sorcs/Sage a regen cooldown that matches adrenaline prob/Vent heat make it 2min cooldown that gives 60% of force back. 1.2 the class lost a spell do to legacy gaining your level 46 ones for dark/light side spells. That way each healer has a way to regen and also a 2min cooldown. I want to say in early beta before the classes became mirrors Sages had meditate that did what I am saying.

Trust me I can't wait till I hit 50 and show that you can heal as a Sorc .

Got all 3 healers, Baby Sorc is in it's 30s now and doesn't feel any weaker then the other two in pvp and flashpoints so far. From someone that's been healing on an Op for months things I love about the Sorc, It has a larger "mana" reserve then the other two healers by far, allowing me to throw out more heals. Force Speed is so good for pvp it's not funny allows for escape, some shortcuts in huttball, and allows me to catch up to teammates that are about to die. Just a point of view of a healer that made a Sorc in 1.2

Yeah not so much I have all 3 healers now Sorc aoe is the best pre and post patch. Its madness to think that Op/Smuggler heal is like Beacon, it is an aoe that hits 4 people and was trash prepatch, post patch it feel like your helping a raid when you cast it now which is nice. Force users heal also hits 8 people vs the other 2 specs only hitting 4. Your pull can do the same thing as the Op stealthing over a gap and having a Jugg jump to you. Consumption/Noble Sacrifice is fine because we heal in raid teams in pve and the damage you take is share between the healers. As for pvp fights last so short that you can get your out of combat regen going or you die. I look at it this way if all 3 specs can heal raid bosses that last 7+ mins, pvp healing fights are so short that most times regen doesn't matter I think I just finish a voidstar were I use Consumption maybe 3 times.

Sorry but your the type of healer that makes us all look bad, you got nerf we got it but there is already guides on how to heal in 1.2. There was also a post in this thread of a Sorc healer doing 920k healing in pvp. Healers get nerf and buff in mmos people that can't heal in 1.2 are the ones that are not even trying to adapt.

Fake cast or bait the interrupts, its not like other mmos if we get interrupted it locks out just that spell and not the whole school. If you have more then one dps interrupting you your going to die, if your any healer anyways. I mean we all been there when they post the raid icon over your head and get focus all match.

Still loving my baby sorc healer in the 20s and having a way to tap for force is great right now, no issues healing in pve and pvp and feels at the same level then my other two healers when I level them. I'm one of those crazy healers that always leveling in a healing spec to get a better feeling on their healing toolbox. I got to say best thing about the spec so far vs the other two healers is force speed it has so many uses in pvp. I love being able to get to people that need heals asap.

Really nerfing a class does not equal turning 34 classing in SWG to nine I mean hell they remove my class from the game when the NGE happen. You class got nerf get over it, I just did a heroic 4 mission my level on balmorra by myself. New heroic moment and unity are so Op. SWG NGE change the whole game, remove classes, change so much for the worst.

Threads call "1.2 Sorc Heals Thoughts? " not "Omg the sky is falling"

I'm loving healing on my baby Sorc and its healing as much as my Op and BH pre level 50 right now. I'm not seeing the spec is as dead that people have been talking about from the PTR comments.

You top healing and won most matches sounds like everything you want in a pvp match as a healer. The new healing style is going to become easier over time we talking healing one way for months to healing one way for 2 days. I think the day one Sorc/Sage are just having growing pains with leaning on the 1.5 cast big heal too much, as someone that's starting new as a Sorc with no perceived notions on what heals to use I have not had any problems yet still not level cap so jury out on 50 and if I can't heal on it I'll eat crow. Also each person with a 50 got a free month so you got more time to see how the Sorc/Sage changes pan out
