  1. i had been going with the lockon missiles (protons?) with a scout. i think i'll go back to rocket pods and try the "FIRE EVERYTHING" approach a few times. i'm basically making my scout a GS hunter. playing with loadouts.
  2. gunships cannot sit on the fringes to snipe AND take a satellite. let them snipe away so long as your team has the satellite. stay opposite them and out of range. you do know that every target you select shows the range. as others have stated, the gunship is for two types of people. the first are the loners more interested in solo kills and their K/D ratio. They will not cost your team the game. The second are part of a group. Their teammates are in the other ships. the sniper covers them while they take the sats. the others keep an eye on the gunship for missile punks like me. those gunships (aka those teams) really suck to fight.
  3. Vehemence heavy sonic shrieker is in this pic http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k214/draken_oni/Screenshot_2012-01-21_01_23_25_232169.jpg Is it the closer gun (left hand)?
  4. the same way you craft in any game. you have to either sell your stuff to offset the cost of acquiring materials, or sell some materials, or also do other activities that provide credits (pve/pvp)
  5. I am so far from a pvp expert, but here is my attitude. You will die, a lot. But, you can still do damage, guard your allies, defend points. You get medals and therefore commendations for that. you also get more commendations if your team wins. regardless of how many times you get killed, you can still help your team win. stick by your teammates and screw this kill/death ratio nonsense that some seem to believe is the be-all end-all of pvp. you can get commendations each match. check the guardian forums for specs and rotation discussions for whichever of the trees you like. get some comms, buy some stuff. get better.
  6. I agree with the cosmetic option for the best of the best pvpers. You consistently rock pvp? Sure, you have access to this super cool, i'm so jealous at how awesome you look, gear. Should those select players have access to better STATTED gear than the top pvp gear? Absolutely not. I have no problem with the concept of select rewards for select players who reach a certain level. But at some point, the stat race needs to stop and it actually come down to skill. But I understand that the outgear, group would always need their statistical advantage, since they can't outplay. And to all of you "I earned my gear by putting in the time." Really? The game has been out 3 months. You sure put in a lot of time... And to all of you "I can't earn my gear b/c they have better gear than me so I can't win." They got there gear in like a month. Suck it up and play.
  7. I would point out the hypocrisy of griping about the fact that non-crafters should have to depend on crafters for gear while crafters should not have to depend on non-crafters for materials. bottom line, either get the parts yourself in a raid or however; or pay someone else to do it. this is no different than the non-crafters. they can either do some work themselves to obtain gear through money or commendations, or they can pay a crafter to make it for them (now that we are getting some sort of items that should at least compete) If you want non-crafters to depend on crafters, why is it "unfair" to have crafters also depend on non-crafters? Economy doesn't mean giving crafters access to everything simply because they are crafters and "shouldn't have to depend on raiding guilds." then likewise, those raiding guilds shouldn't have to depend on you for stuff either.
  8. yeah, i figured it would have to be really bad luck if the defenders who are respawning get the absolute worst gate timing to be unable to either interrupt or reverse the plant. heck, there are multiple options even in a 1v1 setup to give yourself enough time to disarm. e.g.- hit your stun, make them use stun break. then hit your longer stun and disarm.
  9. I will be utilizing this from the defender side now that I know it is possible. with the sprint buff on the defender side, I can get across and help defend better if I can get respawned and into the fight before the attackers can get the force fields down. question: can the door be planted if the force fields are still up?
  10. sure. have a vote to kick. make it unanimous, aka 7-0 on the vote. keeps the voids surrounded by sphincters from just kicking someone not in their 4 person premade.
  11. did I read that higher affection with your companions increases your chances to crit on a mission, thereby leading to a greater chance to hit the purple materials?
  12. does that also apply to things like shimmersilk, for example? that item is not for sale at the crew skills vendor at the fleet.
  13. it's your game, do whatever makes you happy. the only consequence you might suffer is that your name might become known as a quitter when your team is losing (even though you're reason is not /ragequit). that could come back to bite you in the future. if you're ok with that possibility, go ahead.
  14. post is already linked about the ticket where bioware responded that it is not an exploit. want to know how to defeat that grappler trying to stand in the safe zone and pull you to insta-death? wait. for 1 minute +/- if you see him standing there. you have a 1 minute timer to get out of the safe zone or you are booted from the WZ or. set up two passes across the same plane as the goal line. move ball handler to one far end. BH follows to play goalie. pass to middle partner. if BH is close enough to grapple him, pass again to other side partner. walk in and do touchdown dance. or. have teammates kill goalie before you get into grapple range.
  15. how did you level? I mean which tree/skills did you choose first as you leveled? "i went through A tree through skill X, then switched to B tree through skill Y, then back to fill up tree A through Z skill" Just curious, as I'm only level 16 at the moment.
