  1. What I am hoping for is the ability to CRAFT complete sets of armor in bags. Instead of piece mealing different set pieces and then unifying to chest. The first time I had a complete set was post 50 columi from OPs and hard modes..

I would also like the option to sell for Cartel coins or in game credits. Either the buyer pays credits or Cartel coins but I get credits. This way the free to play player can use his limited GTN access to buy from me.

I would also like to be able to convert in game credits for cartel coins... So I can purchase items for my self. Would add new incentive to do the dailys. 100 COINS for 100k credits seems fair...

  2. Hey guys just me again!! :)

I'm tending to agree with most of the people here that 3 warzones a week is a very bad idea.

    1. There is no match making on warzones so you have no control over what warzones you queue for. Example I HATE huttball. As soon as I get in a game I log out straight away. It would be nice if you could choose what warzones you can and can't queue for.

    2. Sometimes when you get into a warzone it only has a few minuites remaining and gives you no chance to do anything useful. Just ends up being a complete waste of time. Usally puts you into a game because some one saw their side was losing and quit out so it dumps you in their place. Not good!! :(

    3. I think 3 to 5 a day wouldn't be a big ask or deal. I mean subscribers will still have priority over f2p players for the queue anyway. In one of my play sessions I usally only get 3 or 4 warzones in anyway. Much more than that you would probably be playing for the whole day and not many people I know have that kind of time to spend playing games. Even one as good as this!!

On closing I'd like to say a big thanks to the guys at Bioware for all the hard work on this AWESOME game. :)

p.s. Hey guys it's really disappointing to hear a lot of you ************ about what they didn't show you. They asked for some constructive criticism and ideas for future previews. This is only their first preview give them a chance. I'm sure they are doing the best they can with a lot fewer people to do the work after their wave of layoffs. :rak_04:

Those who have the time and are willing to go through 5 warzones at one time are not the casual player base F2P is being setup for it seems. I am sorta glad its limited because I dont want the 10 year olds to overwhelm everything. Thats why I dont play halo online its filled with pree teens.

  3. I pose a very simple, but very important, question.

I would very much like to see an answer to it, although I fear that I will not. That small question encapsulates, for me, the very essence of this game. SW:TOR does many things, but the only thing that it does that is unique in this genre is a personal story - one which forms your character. I speak for no one else, but I can safely say that if the answer to that question is, "No," I truly have no reason to continue playing.

New dailies, new flashpoints, new operations, new warzones - to me, that is all busywork. I've done it all before in other games, I've done a little of it here simply to see the content, but I have no desire to hop onto the gear treadmill again. I maintain a subscription to WoW for when I want to play WoW. The difference is that WoW is a common denominator to MMO players - virtually all of us have dabbled in it to different degrees. MMOs are best played with friends, and stating that BioWare continues to update with content akin to a game they're all already playing isn't exactly an easy sale to my friends and family who are already playing together.

Don't get me wrong - I love SW:TOR. But I do not love the aspects of it that simply ape other games. I love what it does, uniquely. I'm actually saving the Jedi Knight storyline for a Kel Dor which will probably never exist. I realize that I got a little wordy, but I truly do want this game to be successful, and I do not believe that it can be if it continues to cater exclusively to a group of players that are already enjoying a different game.

I understand that people need something to do, and thus I understand that repeatable content is required. I'm not asking that development on all non-story content be immediately halted, nor am I asking that I have a weekly story update for my characters. Planetary story arcs are fine, but if that is the sole future of the only unique aspect of my conceptually favourite MMO, I will be quite saddened, to say the least.

TL;DR I am not demanding that I get class story content now - I am merely asking if we will ever get more.

And if we're never going to see our characters develop further, at the very least, please replace the word "INTERLUDE" on the loading screen with "EPILOGUE." It's quite misleading.

They almost have to continue the class quests. The F2Prs get story for free and once they finish it. They will stop playing. I would. Cause if the stuff I have to pay to access isnt as easy as jumping in and playing with out a long process of organizing a bunch of people to do I am NOT paying for it...This is why I sub. I was really hoping TOR would have been more like guild wars 2 when F2P hit. I play both games. However I really like the fact that I payed for guild wars 2 and have access to everything in the game. Theres nothing in the shop I cant get playing normally for combat.

  4. I am not very familiar with F2P games, and did not know what to expect on prices in the Cartel Market.

I was hoping for the best, but not necessarily expecting reasonable prices. I think, from what I've seen through Duffy's previews, that the prices are very reasonable, especially for adaptive armor. Looking forward to it! Especially on the Republic side, the additional looks will be appreciated.

And, since there is an Adaptive Armor tab on the GTN, I am assuming that some will have the option to be sold for in-game credits, which is also convenient.

All in all, the store looks good so far on Duffy's site. This will be a nice addition for both current subscribers and perhaps some folks who choose to return, especially as BW adds more items into it.

What I want to know what is the exact dollar amount for each coin? Is there an option to buy coins yet? Even if its imaginary money.

  5. Seriously, why do folks make this same complaint in every single F2P conversion? Look, you might as well quit now if that's how you feel. While market items will be tradeable after a few days, there are absolutely going to be things in the market that can't be earned in game (other than buying from someone who did get it from the market). Your $15 a month does not now, nor did it ever entitle you to everything in the game.

Yes it does. I dont remember seeing anywhere that my subscription didnt give me the TOTAL product.

  6. I have 1 question. Are the coins account wide or does each toon have x amount? If i buy something while on my trooper for my Jedi can I claim it with my Jedi?

Also are those armor SETS low level stuff? Sub lvl 25? Cause I can get level 30 in one weekend.

    Ok 2 questions...

  7. Hi, i just have maybe one month in this game, and in im a Jedi knight at level 18 but i see other people with level 13 and almost more HP than me, how do they increase their HP? i know that the armor helps but what can else increase it?

Remember there are those who are running alts who have much higher level toon who have money or maxed crafting skill who are twinking out there new low level alts.

With that in mind the FIRST toon to 50 is always the most challenging. You dont have 5 or 6 other level 50s supplying him with cash and gear.

All you need to do is concentrait on your toons primary stat and endurance. I never worried about the other stats till i was at 50 doing hard mode flash points. Then I would suggest Dulfy.net for guidance. She may have lower level self help there too I dont know.

    goto http://dulfy.net/ and see

  8. why do you care if these items go to the cartel shop. you will get extra cartel coins because you are a CE sub. so you'll get those items because you paid for CE. someone else will also get those items if they pay real money for cartel coins. so the only difference is you paid early for the coins and they pay now for the coins, not really much to be nervous about

Because Like that sircopperfield guy they feel entitled to the extra goodies that came with the CE version. No one else should ever have those items ever only CE owners. People are very Clikish now a days and want exclusivity. Its the only way they feel special.

I bought the CE and I am upset that I did. The ONLY benefit to it was the free speeder for all toons THATS IT.

That frankly wasnt worth 162 dollars. The malgus statue is only worth 20 bucks to me. Perhaps 30 years from now I will be old and grey in a nursing home and I will need cash someone on ebay will want it..

  9. I don't think so, as they are paying every month anyway. If you are F2P you should, of course, but not if you are a subscriber. What do you all think?

Yes if the expansion is of this caliber or better

    EverQuest: The Ruins of Kunark

    Release date April 24, 2000

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EverQuest:_The_Ruins_of_Kunark

In terms of the game, The Ruins of Kunark had a very different visual feel compared to the original zones in EverQuest: the color palette was more vibrant and many of the models used for the monsters were more detailed. This detail was most evident in the Iksar, a new playable race of lizard people introduced with the expansion.[1] The Iksar had a number of racial advantages, including the ability to stay underwater for longer periods of time, additional regenerative powers, and an armor bonus. This was balanced by the fact that they were hated by all of the other races in the game and that there were very few places they could go without being attacked. They also could not wear plate armor.

The Kunark expansion also increased the maximum level a character could attain from 50 to 60, and introduced a substantial number of new and powerful monsters for characters above level 50 to fight.[2] The most notable of these was Veeshan's Peak, a zone populated by dragons that was, at its release, declared to be the hardest zone that would be put into EverQuest. In reality, the zone quickly was surpassed by other zones released in further expansions, and is in fact not used often by players.

Another notable and deep dungeon is Sebilis, the lair of the undead dragon Trakanon, which required players to level past the previous limit and obtain improved gear introduced in the expansion.

The Ruins of Kunark was also the focus of 'epic quests', or quests for powerful weapons for each character class, which were introduced between the Kunark and Velious expansions as a source of further high-end content.

The Kunark expansion was unique in its method of distribution. A player would order the expansion from Verant's online store, and it was then shipped directly to the player's home. Unforeseen shipping delays caused many players to miss the expansion's official opening date. Thereafter, most EverQuest expansions were either available in local stores, or downloaded directly from Verant, many weeks before the official opening date.

  10. I'm just curious of what everybodys opinion is, I do like SWTOR but worry thats its going downhill ect which i sincerely hope im wrong about. Do you guys think this game will ever see an expansion?

A full on expansion like from the Everquest days? No They charged subscribers like 25 bucks for those CD / DVD and all. The bigger expansions were like 49.99 I think depended on how much they were adding.

I actually hope they do charge money for expansions this would mean they could never charge me again to access that content.. I also think it would help boost revenues a bit.

Lets say I am a subber and I purchase the expansion I never ever have to pay anything for that content to access it. If I am a FTPer then I can either buy the expansion outrite or pay for time to access it.

With the typical xpac costing a reasonable 30 bucks US then a FTPer would pay like 50 cents to 1 dollar to go into this content for a week. This way if my work schedule is real heavey this month I dont buy access to it but the next month I can pay 4 bucks for the whole month.. Then if theres more content I wanna pay to access I can decide if a Sub makes more sense or not.

  11. Theres a checklist.

    1) can anyone in your group use it? If not, ask if they mind.

    2) can someone in your group use it but already hit greed? ask.

    3) can someone elses companion use it? ask.

    4) did someone who can use it hit need? dont even think about it.

This is way to much to worry about.

People are still used to the old way MMOs were setup. There were no companions before this game. As such I consider my companions part of my character. Since i always play with friends and we are in vent I always say something like I am looking for mods and enhancements for such in such. But its always been roll greed on everything if you need it roll need. Thats implys need for anything. Now we have enough respect for one another to know that we arent being vender whores and just needing to put on the GTN or sell thats what greed is for.

I will roll need on an item thats STR based but has an enhancement my trooper or smuggler / sniper can use. I can transfer it with a legacy armor piece.

I look at it this way. I play any and all my toons to help and benefit my entire account. There has been many times I have wanted to go on an op with my sage (dps) and was asked to use my trooper because hes better geared or what not. So any chance i get to upgrade ANY of my guys I go for it...

  12. The SSSP has been around for 12 months now, since it was first mentioned.

Even by Bioware EA's standards they should have something to show for it by now. :)

Not if its fully voiced... Ever think of that? Perhaps actors and actresses arent available all at the same time.

  13. I don't think its a good idea.

1.) It takes lots of resources which could be used in better ways

2.) 3D space combat is a complete different game. I don't see the benefit for TOR

3.) Only a small number of players will be interested in such a feature. 3D space combat is much too difficult for most of the players.

WRONG..... This aside from crafting and beasts and pets is the single most wanted thing by x swg players. Since this game could only release with swg shut down most of the swg base came to TOR for there StarWars fix. I would say easily 100k to 300k players would welcome this addition whether they are active now or not.

Also for those who cant or dont like the flight then dont doit. However you have to admit for this post to garner as many views as it has it is something that is wanted....

  14. well on 1.5 was not very much to test. so i speculated a bit ;-)

Really they fixed all the previous buggs? wow. The new content didnt break anything? Holy Christmass.

IMHO the PTS should run 24/7 so all changes get vetted there and word of mouth from testers can boost player base confidence in the game...

  15. I want a Martial Artist/Ninja-ish type class.

I would also like an enginere or technician type. All companions are droid/Mechs

I think the sith side could have a necromancer/dreadlord type class. Allthough I don't know what the proper mirror class would be on republic side. Unless they created a force witch/warlock who goes to the good side.

  16. So if, let's say, they make it so that they advertise that a lockbox will definitely contain a certain set of items (experience boost + stims + medpacks etc..) and also a chance to get something extra, would that not be the same thing as buying the cards?

Yes this is the same thing Guildwars 2 does but the boxes are named to identify whats in them.. Like booster pack ect. These are filled with consumables that boost run speed xp gain crafting ability/xp gain ect. There is NO armor in it. They also have STREET casual social gear you cannot use it while in a fight the game will swap you to your normal armor automaticly if you get in a fight. The roleplayers love it though they hang out sit at camp fires or castle lobbys and shoot the breeze in custom outfits. I would also welcome dropped and purchasable Armor dyes. currently I have encountered 3 levels of dyes common uncommon and rare. I really think bioware aught to take cues from GW2 in this area. At least for armor dyes. It costs me nothing to recolor my gear once i have gotten the dye.

  17. So ban all forms of gambling because parents can't be parents? Or because there's a guy round the corner who can't stop spending money on the lottery?

    Ban all cigarettes? Smoking addiction.

    Ban all alcohol? Alcoholism.

Ban fairground games, sticker albums, scratch cards, credit cards?

Yes there are people who have a problem, but that's not everyone else's fault. The biggest annoyance to me in this is the kids need to be protected from lockboxes argument. What about the violence in this game? Torture? Is that ok for young impressionable minds?

I have been making the parental control argument since beta. Everyone wanted SGRA I said ok as long as the parent could block it. I will also say that BIOWARE needs to make it clear to credit card holders who pay for this game about the cash shop. They need to enable a method of blocking all purchases totally and also the ability to set a monthly allowance that DOES NOT carry over to the next month.

The last thing I want is a credit card bill of 200 bucks or more cause my kid is an impulse buyer.

When free to play hits there needs to be an agreement presented that only the Credit card holder can complete and agree to. There also should be an option for people under 18 to goto wawa or 7-11 or gamestop to buy gameshop cards like you can with xboxlive. This way my kid can use his allowance if he wants to put credit onto his own toons. When it runs out its out period.....

  18. I guess thats why i never saw this issue I have 2 monitors and like to be able to use other monitor for videos or web searches and game maps ect. I always use full screen (WINDOWED) and I only got an old PCI-E GTX 470 EVGA card. The rest of my gear is Core I7 920 not overclocked OCZ Vertex 3 SSD 12 GIGs PC 10666 ram Playing on a 55 inch 1080P LCD TV through a Sony 7.1 reciever Using HDMI for sound and video.
  19. so it is true swtor is joining sto in the lockbox debate? some investigation's have already started regarding the issue of this grey area of gambling. wouldn't swtor be shooting itself in the foot?

the amount of bad press and general nasty taste of sto should of been enough to put them off surely?

going f2p so soon from going retail is already a sign of a major flop, but going down the lockbox road is surely just to take advantage of short term playability with a mindset of "rob them quick before they leave"

what happened to the mindset of "give them content and they won't want to leave" ?

I will never ever pay for a box with no way to see exactly whats inside first. Its one thing to have a mystery box at the end of an OP in addition to what you get normally. But to pay cash of my credit card for it? NO WAY in heck.

  20. Hey Dulfy good work. I am saddened you got him so fast though. Was hoping it would take a couple months to complete.

Fortunatley all 6 of my toons are lvl 50 . I have 1 Imp toon. If i want HK on all my pub guys and Imp guy will I have to do the IMP part 6 times? so all my toons have him?

The way they originally told us about it was all we needed to get him was a toon on each faction with 1 at max level and 1 mid level. I took that to mean we only needed to do the quest once and we got him on all of our toons. I figured they would make a level restriction if say I start a new toon I wouldnt have access to him till i was 50. Now after reading this post I am hearing (reading) that i need to do the quest on all my guys.

Is that correct? Do you have multiple 50s on PTS do your other 50s have access to him or not?

  21. You can count on it that it's canned. Just look how many people they fired in the last months. Check out how many bugs 1.4 has introduced. Take a look at the "new" endgame armor, a palette swap is not new gear - they don't even have enough guys left to draw some new armor models.

Could it be that they have slowed down content patches so that the LIVE team is smaller and they moved more to the SSSP Team? I just wish they would at least do a *We would Like to introduce the lead designer of the SSSP project* THREAD LOL

  23. Well that OTHER game announced a Halloween event this month. I think real world holidays are good to have but... The ones with religious backgrounds may offend some. Now if this game was only played in America I might argue for a Chrismass themed event. Since it is played through out the world in areas where it is not observed it may be an area they wanna stay away from. Perhaps this is why they stay away all togather so as to not set any precidents.
