  1. I killed everyone in all of the pve bases on ilum for about 4 hours. At one point it was 1v8 and I had guards on me. I was rolling my tank sin build with healing companion destroying everyone.

Eventually the zone was EMPTY. They gave up and logged/went somewhere else.

Not sure If I got reported but the guards were working as intended. It's difficult to get in to bases sometimes but not impossible, and it only takes 1 player paying attention to aggro multiple champs on you since they have a huge radius.

HMM I am glad im not on a pvp server wow.

  2. I want a flight stick or at the very least a xbox 360 gamepad.. I want planets outside of the normal travel system. I want totally wild and untamed planets with tribal forces and perhaps even WITCHES and mystics and such to go exploring. Perhaps even mine for crafting resources and such.

I would like the crafted ship upgrades mean something. If one could be attacked by NPCs while in transit to another planet perhaps it would. Ide like the ability to have others on my smuglers ship with me so they could man the turrets while i fly.

  3. What his point SHOULD be is that PvP is not needed at all in this game. That is what I was hoping this thread was about.

Pvpers are the most vocal minority of any MMO. The squeaky wheel and all that is great if you are in the tire business but in MMOs they have hurt them time and time again in that they focus on "PvP balance" (god I HATE when I hear that) that usually means nerfing something that negatively affects PvEers. You know, the players that are the majority. I REALLY hope that TOR does not go down that route.

Besides this is a Bioware game. For Bioware fans of Bioware games. Not for the PvP CoD BF3 can't handle a story wanna kill kill kill so i feel better about myself crowd. Let's focus on the PvE side of a story-driven RPG game for once please.

    /PvP is useless rant off

    HERE HERE I agree totally

  4. I feel BW is submitting to the noobs who complain that this game is too hard. I find myself overleveled by the time I hit Balmorra and do the bonus series. When i first started out with my first character, i played some space battles and found that I was overleveled just by completing them. So now I dont touch any space battles and just quest like normal. Even then, i've become too high level for any regular quests. This has led me to roll an operative and literally stealth pass any enemies and avoid any bonuses objectives I find just to make the game a little bit more competitive.

My point is they should make this game a little bit more of a grind. Make it so that you "need" to do the bonus to be on par with your quests. If you decide not to do the bonus, things should get harder. Not like the current way where bonuses just make you overpowered for everything.

I really do not enjoy playing this when I'm doing level 32 quests and I'm 5 levels ahead of everything. Nor should I be keeping an eye out not to complete bonuses and avoid killing trash mobs.

I understand the first 30 or so levels should be easy, but by that time, we should have learned most of the ins and outs of the game to play something more difficult.

Why does Bioware need to change the game to accomedate you? Not all do every stitchin quest. Some get missed completely. Hell im on my second lvl 50 toon and was just today shown the Balmora Bonus series.

If you want game to be harder then YOU make the decision to NOT do every quest.

I am lvl 50 and there is PLENTY of places i can go and be in serious danger of dieing.

I am personally hoping for 50 more levels to go through buy the end of 2012.

Please dont force your views on others. Just tailor the way you play so the difficulty is to your liking. Not everyone likes to live in fear every second when playing. You want that may i suggest you play on a PVP server.

  5. Levels are the real problem

When each major expansion changes the level cap, you make the players feel everything they did was useless

What about the folks who LIKE leveling? Like myself. I like getting that new skill or ability. Once my toon is 50 and got all purple gear theres nothing for me to do yet. I am still waiting for the rest of my guild to level up to 50. Theres only 4 of us out of abbout 20 who have a lvl 50 toon. I got 2 50s and a 43.

I always liked raids that were needed to do for gear so that other raids could be done. Was like that in EQ. I didnt like the massive 50 to 100 real person raids though. I like the 8 and 16 player setup.

I just wish there was a real reason for a crafter to spend the time at his craft. Once you get to 50 and get to ilum you can do dailys and get mods better then crafted purples. How does that benefit crafters. I was a INT gear crafter in EQ there was only like 10 people on the server who we as good or better then I was. Made a real demand for our wares. Casters were in high demand for raids as damage doers. So For all the countless hours i spent in tedious crafting I made gobs and gobs of money at mid game. I NEVER made it to end game before quitting the game.

I just wish crafters could make PVP gear. I wish PVP gear was only usable in PVP combat. There should be PVP gear slots in Character window. STD gear would still work unless there was PVP gear in the proper slot then PVP gear would supersede PVE gear. Conversly PVP gear would have no effect on PVE content. Plyers would have 2 stat numbers for each. One Green for PVE one RED for PVP.

    e.g Endurance - 100 250

If ingaged in a PVE fight and a Players decides to hit you you have PVE HP and PVP HP so even if you were at half life from NPC you are at FULL Health to the other player. Might cut down on PVE ganking i dunno. Thats another post entirely..

  6. I understand slightly if you finally hit your level cap or actually do something noteworthy but I just don't understand why people feel the need to 'ding, level 16' and repeat all the way to the level max.

What's the mentality, are people really that desperate for 'congrats, you're leveling just like every other player in the game!' ?

For me leveling and getting new abilities is the bread and butter of the game for me. I dont like the sam old attacks and skills over and over. Yes i might be using the same skill but it now does twice the damage and I can kill tougher mobs. I would prefer the SKYRIM leveling model though. I'd rather skill up in the abilities you use as your using them. Instead of paying cash at a set xp level.

I would also like the ability to turn off getting xp. I would like the ability to put all xp gain to legacy or off completely. I level way faster then my friends and if BW could have enough dailey quests I could just shut off the XP tap and make some cash while my friends catch up.

There is only so far ya can go though.

  7. Have any of you gotten Skyrim yet? I am bouncing between that and SWTOR. I just wish there was a practicle way to have a world like SKYRIM in SWTOR. I know its apples and oranges. Single vs Multiplayer. I just hope one day there is a server and fast enough internet someday to run SWTOR with each planet having as much content as SKYRIM.

So SKYRIM is saving SWTOR for me as im not on SWTOR 12 hours a day anymore.

  8. I saw someone say they wanted alternate zones/planets to play through.

Perhaps they will add the ability to have BRANCHES in the story.

For example for each companion point have 2 to choose from by the choices you make in the story. This way not all Jedis get Kira Maybe they get another Padawan to train. Perhaps a Salonian..

Perhaps Consulars Could get something other then a Trandoshan as a tank pet. Perhaps when making these choices the abilitys you learn along the way are different then if you chose differently.

What i was expection from this game was Mass Effect in a starwars suit. In that i was let down.

Overall I am having fun playing. Its a Single player game with MMO features and thats what i wanted.

  9. They could however add a skill to armortech that allows them to edit the (LOOK) of said armor and allow you to try out (SEE) then and make a choice. Call it Armor Skins or something to that effect.

On a side note there are some moddable weapons that can only be made with O P S dropped MATS but i have already made guns way better with just upgrading the components. This sorta makes the lvl 50 GUN redundant. also I think that the O P S dropped MATS need to be BoP. There needs to be a crafting/trade window that allows the customer to add in the rare MAT from the O P S raid and the crafter adds the rest of the mats and credits and poof product is created. RIGHT THEN no wait times cause customers WONT wanna wait a half hour for there new shiny item...

  10. Add target forwarding option (target of target). This means that implied target would have to be added as well. This ability allows you to use your spells/abilities through the target (your companion or group member).

Extremely helpful for healers and in groups and raids.

I think this is the most missed option for me at this moment.

As a Sage I feel this is essential. I could keep tank targeted to watch health and use offensive abilitys when health is a good levels...

  12. If you think people level fast this will make you head explode

    I got sofar

    lvl 50 trooper

    lvl 40 Gunslinger

    lvl 29 sage

    lvl 1 consular

    lvl 1 JK

I have been playing since the 16th early access

I played 4 builds in beta up to including the release build

I know all the side quests so i space bar through those.

I havent done many FPs cause its just so hard to get a good PuG.

I am currently unemployed so on a good gaming day i might play a minimum of 6 hours up to 12 or more a day...I am now taking a few days break though to allow my guildies to level up so we can group and do some FPs.

  13.

Recount is not just a "damage meter"... it is a graphical interface which allows you to view group activity in the combat log i.e. Damage Done over the duration of the fight by each player, Friendly Fire, Damage Taken, Healing Done, Absorbs, Healing Taken, Overhealing Done, Deaths, DOT Uptime, HOT Uptime, Player Combat Activity, Dispels, The Dispelled, Interrupts, Ressers, CC Breakers, Resources Gained, etc.

I believe these tools play an important role in identifying whether a player is doing well or under-performing. Nevertheless, these graphs should be the starting point – an indicator that you should be looking more closely at the situation. Used wisely, a tool like this could greatly improve guild performance.

Some individuals are fearful of an "elitist" backlash caused by the improper use of such a tool. Nevertheless, people have also argued that this tool would actually curb elitist behavior based on FACTS and DATA rather than Gear, Achievements, Spec, Gut Feeling or Favoritism.

The inevitability of undesirable behavior isn't something we can escape in a massive online community, so the real question is...

Would you rather be castigated based on factual data or would you rather take your chances with the "hunch" of a self seeking jerk?

    With Recount

Jerk: Dude please leave the group your DPS sucks.

    Without Recount

Jerk: Dude please leave the group you are wearing a green helm and your gear isn't good enough for this encounter. (You get kicked, even if you were top DPS)

    -

EDIT: It would also totally eliminate "recount spam". They could disable all data broadcasts... If everyone has access to the information there would be no need to broadcast the results.

    EDIT UPDATE:

    -

During the speed-fire round starting at 13:00 in the video. Georg confirms an out of game COMBAT LOG!

People will have access to combat logs please bring a recount version in the game!

I think Georg Zoeller understands our pain for not having a combat log at launch, let's hope they "get it right" and quickly.

    People who don't like Recount.

NO... I dont want some elitest to PUNISH others cause they didnt do things the way others see fit... I dont want this game to be micro managed in anyway. Just learn the raid and learn to work with others and you will succede..

  14. I am torn on this Idea. On one hand I can see the need for it.. Example... I get to new planet only 15 people on said planet.. I send a /1 message yada yada looking for xxxx group for xxxx heroic/FP.... I hear crickets most of the time....

If I could get behind and Dungeon finder it would be like a Lobby system... You go into the Social window. There would be a Flashpoint/Heroic Mission Tab. Everyone who has Advertised there group Would show up in there. It would then be possible to see all the quests they have to do and whether your eligible to participate. You would then /whisper to the group and ask to join.

Almost EVERYONE i know IGNORES General chat so finding a group is very hard at times. I am in a guild and only get to group with them for the most part. I am on my 3rd toon now and have missed about 70% of the heroics and FPs. Hell i did Essless for the first time last week. This comming from a 3 build betatester and early access player.

I do however share the concerns of the naysayers. I want there to be a social way of having a flashpoint lobby system....

  15. I was a beta tester. I started on day 2 of early acces. So far i have a 49 trooper 36 gunslinger 25 sage... I am not working right now so between interviews and such i play the game about 8 to 10 hours a day.

One suggestion on PVE server since the space missions GREY out alot faster then in beta.. Make a trooper class and do WarZones at or around lvl 25 and up. Its the easiest class to WZ with for me and I average 13k xp a match so thats like 1 quest. If i hit a wall out in the PVE world I just run some WZ get a level and then return to PVE...

I must have done at least 5 to 8 levels in WZ alone on my trooper...

  16. Wasn't SWTOR even supposed to abolish the trinity? I like that the roles aren't quite as pronounced as in some other mmos, but they are definitely still there.

yeah but you can have a commando that heals he does pretty good dps as well. So I would have (Guardian/Vangard) (Sentinal/gubslinger/shadow) (Commando Heal spec/scoundrel) and Sage.

Yes this is still calling for the 3 major ROLES. The difference is SAGE can DPS like mad even if heal spec. So SAGE is not like the old EQ Cleric its like cleric/druid/shaman/ranger all in one...The Commando and scoundrel can backup heal

  17. I have noticed that Sentinal/Marauders use stimms and medpacks like crazy. They get their healer pet way to lat in the game. I learned this in beta so I decided to roll a Sage and a Trooper both heal specs. I am using those characters to craft and get cash from Warzones and flashpoints...

One thing i think is soarly needed is a way to TURN OFF xp gain so once you get your self to a level you and your friends are good at you can stay there for a while. So quests dont grey out on ya so fast...

  18. Having only 2 days on the market is too short I realize low level stuff is leveled passed very quickly. I propose gear for lvl 30+ be alowed 2 weeks on the GTN and the rest stay as it is.

Some people may not be able to play everyday to keep on top of the market..

What does everyone else thing regardless if you think they will change it or not. Perhaps if enough people sing we can make a chorus...

  19. Let me get this right ....

You want a macro to launch a series of attacks in a specific order EVERY time and all you got to do is hit ONE button?

I cant support this. I want the human error factor in this game. I want there to be a OH crap I over used cuncussion shot now im outa resources RUN..

This was debated to death in beta. DEVs SAID NO..

On the UI. Thats another matter. I think the windows and button bars all need scaling and freedom to move...

  20. Pretty BS in my opinion Healers are not very common. You think you'd want to do more to promote playing healers, not limiting it. Next time I get the chance to get the credits and respec i am never going to ever heal again until they give me some sort of dual spec.

This is why i chose to be a healer. Sage and Trooper.

Noone in my guild is a healer at the moment I am the only one. The may make more alts but right now I am pretty busy with flashpoints and groups cause healers are in short supply.
