  1. Very few people would even bother with the packs anymore then. On top of that, items would loose their rarity.

Any idea how much people have spent trying to get Revans' Mask? For each Revans' mask that dropped from a pack, Bioware probably made several thousand CC.

So, let's make Revans' Mask a 3000 CC item (they make more of it as it is now), and

    A) nobody will buy it anymore, because it's too obviously too expensive

    B) the forums will be even fuller of complaints about Cartel Market pricing than they are now

    C) TOR will make headlines again on the conservative hater tv-channels

    Make Revans' Mask 300CC and

    A) everybody will have one, and the entire sense of exclusivity will be gone from it

    B) the forums will still be full of complaints about how it's too expensive

In other words: it'll never be acceptable in any way.

Revans Mask should be an Uber rare drop from an uber hard world boss in my opinion.

Actually there should be a quest to assemble his mask from rare drops in the game.

  2. Why doesnt Bioware just list Cartel Market Items openly and allow people to purchase exactly what they want.

Perhaps drop the price of the packs for a chance at getting that uber rare item. Just let the rest of us buy what we want.

When real money is on the table I want to know exactly what I am buying before I hand you my cash.

Drop the packs to 2 dollars and allow people to gamble at a discount. Charge a little more for specific items. At least I know exactly what I am buying.

  3. Well it baffles me because I don't see why people need to have so many in-game credits. There's really no need for 10's of millions of credits. Yeah it's rather expensive right now with mk-9 kits and some other end-game stuff but beyond that, I don't see the need to amass so much. Then again, to your point, maybe that's their way of buying something like a throne or hover chair instead of playing the RNG game...

And to the other poster, I've also wondered about the issue you brought up. I recently saw one of the account-wide items, I think for Artifact Authorization, and it costs significantly more than the packs yet it sold for around 350k. I just can't believe someone would spend all those CC's on that and then sell it for so cheap... regardless if the f2p and Preferred players have a credit cap. Personally I'd sell it for more with the hopes that maybe a guild-member or friend who subs would buy it and then give it to them. But that's just my 2 cents...

    Errrrm one word answer......

    Capitalism

    Its a beautiful thing.

  4. Don't we get Cartel Coins for free each month? Customization costs 2000 coins I believe and we get 500 coins free each month. Have you been saving up? If not just wait 4 months and you'll get a free customization.

Yeah but if like me you have 9 toons it would take me a year or so to retweek my toons cause the original character creation was so lack luster.

I feel as though there trying to make money off a feature that was missing at launch. They didn't do enough out reach and research to see what people really wanted.

  5. OKOK maybe I should have been more specific. I wish the render quality was as good as this.

What I think is kewl is the other pics from the site where people (women mostly) make their own outfits.

    Like this Sithly woman )

And Bioware here's a good rendering of a Togruta and her tentacles don't get in the way....

  6. The patch notes are up, but the patch date is 4/23/2013. New stuff is coming in the patch on Tuesday.

Also coming on Tuesday to a CE vendor near you ...

    NOTHING.

    Again.

We were promised regular updates to the CE vendor, back when BW was promoting (quite heavily, as I recall) the CE. And so far, they have delivered absolutely nothing. CE vendor offerings remain the same as on the first day of Early Release, well over a year ago. Yet since f2p launch in November, the Cartel Market seems to get new stuff almost every week. Clearly BW's position is "We already got your money, why would we give you anything for it now? We're too busy trying to think up ways to convince folks to give us more money. We can't be bothered with actually giving you what we promised and you (already) paid for."

I agree there should be weekly quests we can do to also get these packs. Like the rakghoul weekly quest with one part a day and at the end you get a pack have one weekly quest for each one. Only Subscribers get access to the quests.

  7. A- If you can just shut off your flag at will, people will attack you, flag off before you counter attack, then flag attack you again, effectively removing any chance of you fighting back.

B- If you can't unflag during combat, people will flag, attack you, get you into combat with a mob, then when you're both low hp- they'll leave combat, unflag, heal up, then kill you easily.

C- This was if someone does flag jump you, when you rez you can try to kill them- if you could instant unflag, you can easily just follow someone who's flagged, attack them when the opportunity arises, and never have to worry about consequences or revenge since you can just chicken out immediately after the fight.

If anything- the flagging mechanic is far too tame for this game.

I agree to a point but why not let those who don't want to ever ever pvp turn it off and not be able to turn it on for 30 minutes and still keep the current flag off limits?

So I am out questing minding my own business. I go into the outlaws den I goto the npc or terminal for what ever reason I never get flagged I cannot engage in pvp what so ever but I CAN pve my little arse off. If I CHOSE to flag my self in the den it would make me wait 30 minutes. I think that would also prevent un flagged people from jump attacking yellow enemy names 20 to one. I have seen it happen.

This of course is only active on e PVE server where people ACTIVLEY chose to NOT PVP. If folks really wanted to PVP they would role on a PVP server.

Part time PVP on a PVE server should 100% be at the players consent. There should be no areas that auto flag you.

EXCEPT an enemy base or camp. Otherwise enemy players unflagged would just swarm you and just a few flagged enemy players would weave through the crowd and attack you.

  8. I agree with this. They have already said they are changing the weekly cap on Daily Comms. I'm sure this will get changed soon too. They always underestimate the fact that some people will actually play this game 15 hours per day every day of the week. So people accumulate this stuff and run through content faster than they are estimating. A cap of 100 sounds about right.

Disagree. The point of the commendations is not to be able to grind out comms on lower level toons to use to buy higher level gear for alts. They should stay away from anything like that which encourages people to farm low level content over and over. There is no reason you should need commendations from a level 15 toon to gear a level 40 toon. If you want to use comms to buy mods for a lower level alt, then that's fine...but there's no reason they need to allow you to take Tython commendations for your level 12 character and allow him to buy mods from the Makeb vendor with them to send to a level 50+ toon. If you need to gear up the higher level toon, then play with that toon and get him geared up.

Um am I missing something? Are the comms now bound to legacy? I thought each toon still had to earn their own comms.

  9. yeah, but then you wouldn't buy new ship equipment, or am I misunderstanding.

Well ship equipment would act much like player armor I suppose. However your ship stats would increase as it leveled up. This way player level has nothing to do with what missions are greyed out.

I would like to either start out at level 10 when I get my ship leveling it up and making much needed cash then once I earn the cash and have leveled up my ship I could start my player leveling with a nice stash of cash OR complete my player leveling and then start my ship leveling. Either way it would allow way more flexibility with regards to space missions.

As it is now I can only do the HIGH end missions now on my 7 level 50s. I mean I COULD do the grey ones but they offer no meaningful rewards since they are grey.

  10. Just as the title says.

Would it be a good Idea to have space missions level up your ship instead of player?

What say you the player base changing space so that your ship levels from the xp you gain.

I thought of this because I just hit 50 on my 7th toon tonight. I thought I might try out the space and then realized all the missions I could do for the ship gear I have are all greyed out.

How about a leveling system for your ship?

  11. People make that mistake more often. The empire comes and goes and so does the republic. It's an everchanging situation that goes around in circles.

So what is worse? Sith lords or corrupt politicians? The truth is evil always wins one way or another. Whether it's called a republic or empire doesn't really matter.

I don't believe you. I believe that although evil may triumph from time to time there is an inherent need to be free inside every sentient and no dictator or tyrant cant win against that.

  12. While the Empire is defeated, the Sith actually win in the end. The Republic is dismantled in favor of a new Empire, and that Republic is never seen again. The New Republic has many inherent differences (that I won't get into here) that distinguish it from the one that Sidious and Vader destroyed. So yes, the Republic wins this part of the war, but final victory goes to the Sith.

The light will always shine even in the darkest room.

  13. Not had this problem, but every game gets critisized for it's optimisation, and for it's graphics. I like the visual look of the game, and while a few people complain about the frame rates it is a small proportion. Like I said I can't complain myself.

Most RPG's have this issue, including MMORPG's.

I can understand this, but sometimes the Holocom wouldn't the best idea, it's not secure and most mission require some illusion of security, also how could a person send the rewrds via Holocom, I know some missions reward you in field but that always feels wrong to me.

You would miss some missions at faster speeds, the ones you stumble across.

Depends on your class, Consular gets a lot more interesting after chapter 1.

Yeah, I agree here, the best you can do is alternate between Republic and Imperial, so you get a slightly different experience.

I don't entirely agree, I think it is a great game, not as great as it could be, but what game actaully is as good as it could be.

I think you're comparing this game with others too much, rather than enjoying the game you're playing, by comparing all the time you dilute the fun. Also apart from the Consular and Smuggler stories I have no complaints about the class stories, they are extremely good.

Yeah fps means squat to me al long as my mouse moves me smoothly through the game world I don't car what the numbers are.

I guess for some who have spent so much on there gaming rigs they want to see it being utilized. but remember Bioware is making a game (or trying) that lowend machines can run as well and perhaps that means not having the advanced graphics features the super high end machines need.

I run the game on a NVIDIA GTX470 with game installed on a SSD 12 gigs non ecc ram playing on a 55 inch 1080p TV at 1920x1080 res and I have no fps or lag issues except for the fleet that has always been bad when you zoom into a populated area and the computer suddenly has to render 100 people in a few seconds.

This MMO does amaze me at what it can do. Then again I remember using dial up to play multiplayer DOOM and DESCENT.

Unless and until these games are running on pure fiber networks all the way to your computer and the server is a quantum computer able to react to your decisions in Picoseconds. Just enjoy the game for what it is.

If it is not what you like don't play. These onsey twosy posts of I am unsubbing for x reason have no bearing on the future of the game. However you do I suppose have the right to speak your mind.

  14. ^ exactly. That is more than enough. No reason to have a lot of exclusive items in content the majority of the playerbase does not participate anyway. The Cartel Market and the GTN seems to be the best way so far.

Yeah but to have some incentive to lure folks into the OPS by having some items exclusive to the OPS that would be coveted by F2Prs is a good thing.

I also think OPS are for the most part a guild activity. Sure some ops like EV and KP can be pugged but with out rules that all respect its just a pain for me to do OPS outside a guild structure.

I will say if the devs don't dedicate just as much loot and content for the subscription players as much as they are for the cartel market I will be rethinking my Subscription.
