  1. Force Users are "strong in the Force". It allows them to use unnatural and sometime insanely powerful abilities. BUT ! This has nothing to do with the strength of one's mind. It is said that people with a strong willpower cannot be affected by mind tricks and mind control. The best exemple is in Clone Wars, when two Jedi Masters and the Chosen One group together to mind control Cade Bane, who resist to the point of nearly dying from exhaustion... Cade Bane is not Force Sensitive and has never been stated or noted to be even a little bit strong in the Force. Valkorion's mind control suffer the same weakness : it is stated that he specifically uses means to lower your willpower : - By accepting his powers, you accept his influence. - By making you absorb the life force of those close to him, he strengthen his own connexion to you. - Even with all that, he still must win a battle in the center of the mind to take control. Furthermore, not being Force Sensitive does not mean you are defenseless against Force Users. Sure, Force users can resist to Force powers with their own, but that defense isn't absolute or even reliable in itself. There's a lot of way to fight a Force User without using the Force yourself... Kotor 2 gives us two exemple : First is when HK-47 teaches you how to fight a Jedi... what weapon to use and how to severe their connexion to the Force. The second is your battle against Dark Sion, who is litteraly invincible thanks to the Force... and the only way to beat him is to convince him to abandon his rage. In my opinion, sufficiantly smart people can beat Force Users, even strong ones.
  2. Or better... Add a customisation slot in which you can equip a pistol...
  3. I can't abandon the quest. Either, allow us to abandon this quest or make it soloable. Not that I wouldn't like to do it the "vanilla way", but it's difficult to be accepted within an operation group.
  4. Simple : http://dulfy.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/swtor-clandestine-officer-armor-set-male_thumb1.jpg Make it a coat ! Pweaaaaaaase !
  5. Siths aren't necessarily "space nazis", but they are fueled by their passions and focus on the most negative ones. Of course there will be some puppy kicking at some point... But, as others said, most of them have a purpose : Darth Jadus plan to make averyone fall into fear and degradation. He doesn't do this for the evuls, but because it will make him more powerful. The Emperor is similar in that regard, as he fed on the fear of others during his early life, before starting to feed off people souls. The sad truth is, the corruption of the Dark Side is not needed for amoral and sadist people to exist... but the Dark Side do corrupt people into amoral and selfish monsters. At best, a Darksider is a well intentionned monster, but he is a monster still. My main character, the Sith Inquisitor, is a pragmatic, sympathetic monster : she wants to power (both political an through the Force), can and will do anything to achieve this goal. She has some sadist streaks, where she can torture people just because it's fun (or because they pissed her off)... but she will also try to avoid unnecessary casualties and wishes to achieve peace and become a benevolent ruler.
  6. By the power of Sith Alchemy, I zombify this thread. Necrothread go ! I was googling "Gree vs Vong" and it led me here. 1)Jedi or Sith? Sith ! Because Jedis are kinda hypocrites and are definitely not good guys (even if they delude themselves into thinking they are). 2) Favorite Worlds? Korriban : because haunted Sith tombworld ! Nar Shaddaa and Tython : because haunted Jedi tombworld ! 3) Type of lightsaber, Lightsaber color and fighting style? Single lightsaber with a purple blade, fighting defensively. 4)Favorite Species? The Chiss, because Thrawn. The Yuuzhan Vong, because even their spoons are living beings ! 5)Favorite vehicle? The Imperial Agent's ship. 6)If you were a Jedi which master would you want? Mara Jade, because she is cool and wise and a ****** redhead. 7)If you were a Sith which master would you want? Darth Marr or Darth Revan. Marr, because he is a ****** warrior who is not the mindless power hungry darksider most of the Siths are. Revan, because she (yes, SHE) had a really interesting view on things. 8)If you were a Sith, then what would your "Darth" Name Be? Darth Artificis 9)Favorite Film? The Empire Strikes Back 10)Least favorite film? The Phantom Menace 11)If you could write your own Star Wars novel, what would it be about? The story of a villain protagonist (probably a Sith or at least a Dark Jedi) who brings the Republic down. Something like episode 4/5/6 but with a villain instead of Luke and the Republic instead of the Empire. 12)Which film has your favorite soundtrack? The Empire Strikes Back 13)Do you collect figures? Non. 14)In your opinion, what is the best thing about the EU? Right in the title : it expands the universe. 15)In your opinion, what are the worst things about the EU? It's so huge that it is bound to have silly stuff in it. 16)What Does Star Wars mean to you? So many, many things. I would need a scientific article (you know, those articles with 100 pages) to properly answer this question. Round 2: Revan or Meetra? If you talk about the SWTOR versions, Meetra. Because she's so painfully underdevelopped that I can still headcannon pretty much anything about her... and SWTOR's Revan is so awfully bad... If you talk about the KOTORs version, then Revan, from a reaaaaly small margin. KOTOR 2 Revan is infinitely more interesting than SWTOR's Revan... even though he never appear in the game. If you could belong to any Era of Jedi/Sith orders, which would you belong to and why? Eeeeeeh dunno. some Old Republic era for sure, but I cannot tall which one exactly. If you could belong to any Non-Force Sensitive order, which'd you pick and why.... And yes, simply being a smuggler counts House Inrokini, aka, the techwiz clan of the Chiss. If you could have ONE ship, which'd you pick? Any class. A Yuuzhan Vong World-Ship ? Favorite Star wars animal? Tuk'Ata are cute ! Favorite Character? Kotor2 Revan (Woman Darksider version) Favorite Jedi? Luke Skywalker. Favorite Sith? Darth Revan, frome KOTOR2 (still a woman) Favorite Non-Force dude? SWTOR Imperial Agent if played as a Lightsider loyalist. If you could change one thing in Galactic History, what would you change? Revan, obviously. If Malgus' Sith Empire had survived the False Emperor storyline, what do you think would have happened? Would he have won the war? Would you have joined him? Yes and Yes. Darth Malgus empire would have the both strengths of the Republic and the Empire. The only reason I could see it crumble is because Malgus hismelf is too much of a warmonger. And yes, I was heartbroken when I had to fight him without any option to join him. Do you think Darth was originally intended to be Darth Vader's first name? (always bugged me) Nope. I always thought it was a title. Which blaster would you wield, if you did? Or you A Vibroblades guy? You don't bring a sword to a gunfight... unless you're a Sith or a Jedi. And I wouldn't wield blaster, I would wield a charric... you know, the Chiss maser based weapons ? Pre-TPM or Post ROTJ? Pre-TPM Courtesy of Beni... Favorite Clone Wars episode. idn't see enough to answer. Your favorite Star Wars scene. "No... I am your father !" It might seem like a cliche nowadays, but back then, when I first discovered the film, it was so powerful ! Funniest moment. Leia and Solo bickering in Episodes 4 and 5. Saddest moment Any moment with Jar-Jar or the Ewoks. Favorite quote "And there's always be a Darth Traya, someone who was betrayed in her heart and who will betray in turn." Favourite Actor Meh. Favourite Voice Actor Mark Hamill. I mean, come on, he is the best Joker ! Favourite Lightsaber Duel Darth Vader vs Luke Skywalker in the Empire Strikes Back. Favourite Lightsaber Hilt Hilts used by the One Sith in Star Wars Legacy. And Aurbere, Rayla and Mathemagica You can master any one Force power or technique, which would you pick? Siith Alchemy, with Mechu Deru and Life Drain. If not Jedi or Sith, which Order of Force users would you join? Well... I would say the Jensaarai, if they weren't so flawless. I mean, they feel like a fanfick suish version of a Jedi/Sith meld : better, both qualities, none of the flaws... If I must choose, I'll pick the Derviches Seyugi, because I like the idea behind it. What is your favorite music track from the movies? Imperial March If you were part of the Star Wars universe, who would you want as a rival and why? Thrawn. Because someone's value is calculated through its ennemies. And Thrawn is so perfect that having him as a rival would mean I'm a real ****** tactician too ! Yeah, I would be squashed in a matter of minutes, I know. If you were part of the Star Wars universe, who would you want as an ally and why? Thrawn. Because he's the greatest tactician of the entire EU...
  7. Well, a chastity belt is used specifically to prevent someone to do stuff... if one doesn't do stuff, there's no need for the chastity belt. In that regard, the smuggler is the best chastity belt wearer possible.
  8. They canon'ed Revan and now it's RUINED FOREVAAAAAAAAAR. Hurm. But more seriously, canon ruins headcanons, because no matter what you headcanon, you "know" what is in the canon and you cannot ignore it. I headcanon my Revan as a Dark Lady of the Bitc* and yet I cannot prevent myself to see his manly face when thinking about it. I'm for the team : "no canon"
  9. Same here. My char is a sorceress, fully embracing the Dark Side pragmatic. What he did was infiltrate the order, save me and mitigate the damage recieved... My character fry anyone who betrays, no matter the reason, no matter my love them. They simply die. Yet, Theron lives... because he didn't betray, he helped.
  10. Force ritual and the use of Zildrog aren't necessarily excluding one another. Even if Vitiate used a particular mean to end people's lives, I think he would still need to perform a ritual in order to catch the spirits of the deads. In the end, no matter said murdering means, that's not what will be remembered. People who are Force Sensitive can feel the death of a whole world through the Force... if someone siphon the energy of the population of an entire planet, someone is bound to feel it. The latter is much more troubling than the former, since there are a lot of way to effectively kill entire populations in the matter of seconds, while there isn't that much appearence of one being eating said population.
  11. My main, a Chiss Sorcerer, Empress of the Alliance. She strongly likes archeology. She is what I would call a "Pragmatic Darksider" with an "almost heretic" view of the Sith Code.
  12. My headcannon is that I blowed him to bits. Ingame proof ? He wear all the 212-cybernetic armor pieces he can... which is ridiculous to see x)
  13. As an author, I strongly disagree. Not that I think "war" is the thing to go, but a story must tell something. Peace is the state of the universe between stories. Every story is about conflict in one way or another... and that has nothing to do with imperialism. Be it with sport, politics, war, house cleaning... there is some conflict (and yes, even the "peaceful" housecleaning is about a conflict against that puny dust !). Here, we talk about a something that is named "Star Wars", of course there will be conflict. The whole setting is about good versus evil, freedom versus oppression. Luke, even before becoming the legend he is, was in conflict with his boredom. If there is no conflict, there is no story. Simple.
  14. Bring in the Yuzhan Vong ! Yeah, I know they are supposed to appear in a faaaaaaaaar future... or so the Legends says (thanks to Disney). So bring in the Vong and their biological armor and weapons.
  15. Edited. Since I own a french version (and since i didn't create a new char for quite some time) I wasn't sure about the proper terms. Thanks for the precision.
  16. Well, I know a new class is very, very unlikely... too much work, even without having any class story for it. As the title imply, the idea revolves around a melee fighter that doesn't isen't a Force user. Empire side : Fighter-Slave A slave used for labor and fight, but mainly fight... his life expectancy isn't good and most die at an early age, from untreated wounds, or the abuse of their masters. But sometime, one can rise above all others. Advanced Class 1 : Pit Fighter Weapons : None (uses two catalyst/shields), or maybe cestus/claws The Pit Fighter is often found on crime-worlds, where law, if there is any, is just a word for the inhabitants. Betting on fights is commonplace, from the lowest slums to the richets crime-lord palaces... and what better show than two people pitted against each other with their fists for sole weapons. - Discipline 1 : Teräs Käsi (tank). Developed by the Followers of Palawa, Teras Kasi is a hand to hand fighting style devoted to fight off the Jedis. A practitionner of Teras Kasi is trained to effectively anticipate opponent attacks. An evasive tank. - Discipline 2 : Brute (DPS). Some fighters use brute strength to overpower their ennemies. A Brute is a fighter who often breaks his opponents bones, shatter their skull and has no qualm to use an opponent to hit others. DPS that uses debuffs and AoE a lot. - Discipline 3 : Precision (DPS) Some martial artits aren't that strong, but perfer to be quick and precise in their strikes. Such fighters often learn how to detect weaknesses of their ennemies and are the best to use those weaknesses. DPS based around crit rating and huge damaging hits. Advanced Class 2 : Gladiator Weapons : Single vibro-sword/techno-blade main-hand and vibro-knife off-hand. Even in the more refined societies, one can find fighting arenas where fighters are put against each others, or against dangerous creatures. There is more than blood and gore in these fights and a fighter's presence can win the crowd. Some slaves bound to this life can become wealthier than kings and queens. This one has Stealth. - Discipline 1 : Showman (Healer). It's all about the show right ? And if one want to show-off longer, he must learn to survive longer... and sometimes help his opponent to survive longer. This type of fighter end up being better combat medics than real combat medics. - Discipline 2 : Finesse (DPS). When a fighter know his blade, its shape, its weight, he can use it with a fightening efficiency. This trained swordsman has nothing to envy to the jedis can will often surprise them with feints, tricks and precision. DPS based around multiple low-damaging strikes. - Discipline 3 : Trickster (DPS). In the richest arenas, it's all about the show. While some devote themselves to be the center of the spotlights, others prefer to stay shrouded in mystery. Mastering his own image, the trickster appears to be underwhelming at first, before ending the fight with one, precise strike. Stealth based DPS. Republic side : Bodyguard People who can fight are always useful in the galaxy, even more during a war. Most learn how to use a gun and a rifle, because you should never bring a sword to a gunfight. But some people are just so good without any sort of ranged weaponry they are hired as bodyguards, special agents and even teachers. Advanced Class 1 : Honor Guard Weapons : Electrostaff/Double bladed vibroswords main hand, shield/catalyst off-hand. A lot of nobles and senators like to have bodyguards that are pleasing to the eye : a fighter who can effectively defend them but who are also prestigious. Honor Guards are such fighters, trained to fight with beautiful, but hindering outfits. - Discipline 1 : Protector (Tank). Some of these fighters prefer to attract attention to themselves, to let their employer flee at their leisure. Those fighters are often equiped with the best shields and know a lot of fighting styles, not to use them but to effectively counter them. If there is one fighter who know how to face a blaster rifle with only a stick, it's the Protector. - Discipline 2 : Rioter (DPS). Some guards are trained to fend off angry mobs, without harming them too much. They know how to hurt without killing, and how to sweep into the crowd. DPS that uses debuff and AoE a lot. - Discipline 3 : Duelist (DPS). Some guards are trained to defend their employer's honor, by dueling for them. Often calm and composed, those fighters know how to strike down an opponent quickly by exploiting its weaknesses. DPS based around crit rating and hits with huge damages. Advanced Class 2 : Shadow Guard Weapons : no weapon (generator/catalyst) main-hand and vibro-knife off-hand. While some people prefer to uses their guards as a symbol of their wealth and power, some are more saavy and tend to keep their bodyguard consealed until needed. A shadow guard must protect by taking out the menace before it strikes. Those types of guards are best trained in hand to hand combat and with the use of small weapons. This one has Stealth. - Discipline 1 : Medic (Healer). Even with the best training, it's sometime hard to prevent things to go south. A good bodyguard with medical skills can prevent his employer from dying, even in the most dire stituation. - Discipline 2 : Lightning Fists (DPS). While staying concealed until it's time to strike, some bodyguards like to put on an intimidating show, where they pummel their opponent with multiple strikes. While those fighters are not necessarily the strongest, they overwhelm their opponent with numerous strikes, preventing them to effectively dodge. DPS based around multiple low-damaging strikes. - Discipline 3 : K'tara (DPS). Of course, when one use little to no weapon, he will want to disable its opponent quickly. K'tara is a martial art designed to defeat an opponent quickly and quietly and is often used by assassins. DPS based around stealth. And about the story ? Easy enough : The Fighter-Slave starts on Hutta, as Nem'ro's fighting slave. The prologue revolve around the slave being seen as the best fighter of the planet, before being bought off by an Empire Noble, who was there to negociate with Nem'ro. Said noble acquire the Slave and take him to Dromun Kaas. The Chapter 1 could be used to show Sith politics, when one isn't a Force User. We see some Empire Nobles who aren't force sensitive in the Bounty Hunter storyline, but it's underdeveloped. The chapter ends with the Slave being acquired by a true Sith, mayhap a member of the Dark Council. Chapter 2 would explore Sith politics and scheming even more, with the Slave starting to pull his own strings, using the influence of his current master. Chapter 3 would explore how a nobody, a slave without Force Powers, achieve nobility in the Empire. The Bodyguard starts on Ord Mantel, as a senator/diplomat's bodyguard (duh). The prologue revolve around his employer trying to bring peace in this warzone through negociations. The Chapter 1 could follow the same idea, on a more galactic scale, ending with the Bodyguard seeing first hand the war starting again. The Chapter 2 would follow Saresh, who now employ the Bodyguard and use him to further her own agenda. The Chapter 3 would show how a bodyguard, a mere meatshield, can sometime influence political decisions.
  17. Ooooh companions have other roles than healer ? Jokes aside, yeah, each companion should have its own set of skill, in his original role and get the generic one for other roles.
  18. The idea behind this is to have an item that can hold text. Holocron could be created and read by Force Sensitive characters, Datapads by anyone. It would be an universal crafting recipe that would hold some text and couldn't be edited after its creation. It would have no monetary value and wouldn't be bound, so anyone could freely give it to other players. Another idea is to have a piece of furniture, usablel in a player fortress, that could could be created the same way and could be read by anyone who interact with it. This could take multiple forms : Holocron on a pedestal, information screen. This idea came to me when I was thinking about my main Inquisitor's philosophy of the Force. But it could have more applications and, I think, could be a great tool for those who like RP.
  19. Having a Sith Chiss is easy enough : my Chiss Inquisitor background is as follow : She was from an assassin family (since political assassination is a part of Chiss political life). Her family, doing a lot of dirty work, are accepted by other more honorable families and, as such, are mostly ignored. The Kata (my chiss family) take advantage of this by allowing the Force Sensitive within their ranks to express their power, as long as nobody knows. My Inquisitor used he powers to climb the Chiss hierarchy, which would prove to be her downfall : even though most CHiss look the other way when a Kata do something, this also means they can't become important political figures... and when one Kata enters the Nuruodo house (one of the ruling family) through adoption, everyone freakout. Soon, her powers are discovered but, since the Kata know a lot of dirty secrets, she isn't executed for her transgression and is, instead, exiled with the whole Kata family. From there, she end up being sold as a slave to the Ascendancy ally : the Sith. And we have a force sensitive slave, just like the Inquisitor backstory.
  20. Nowere did I find any reference to Chiss having a lower birth rate of Force Sensitives. It's just how they treat Force Sensitive Chiss that makes such being rares. A Chiss is killed or exiled if caught using the Force, with his whole family suffering the same fate. Add their isolationnism to that and that's no wonder we aren't supposed to see a lot of Chiss Jedi/Sith. On a sidenote, that's how I roleplay my Chiss Inquisitor : one who used the Force to climb the hierarchy, got caught, had a powerfull family so everyone got exiled instead of executed. Sold as a slave to their allies. Became an apprentice... and we know the inquisitor story. As for their xenophobic tendancies, isolationism tend to make them appear that way. But I think they are more pragmatic. Thrawn was the first one to appear and, of course, shaped the whole specy because of his popularity : they are cold and pragmatic military geniuses. I'm currently reading the Vong saga and they are, again, one of the few forces in the galaxy able to stand their ground against them. The fact that the ascendancy is a formal ally of the Empire, much like a vassal, is quite telling : no other world, or even specy, under the Sith Empire rule, could obtain this level of freedom. I mean... Sith are banned from setting a foot on the Chiss homeworld. This negociation between the Sith and the Chiss is, in my opinion, the best proof that the Chiss aren't that xenophobic, because they are too pragmatic for that.
  21. The Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic are polar opposites on so many level they simply can't coexist... Morality, politics and even religions are opposite to one another. And yeah, their is your own Empire/Protectorate in the middle trying to mitigate things, but it just cannot work. How many times a single person can hold things off ? The Alliance is bound to crumble one way or another. Now, my main is a Sith Inquisitor, and enlightened despot who rule with an iron hand in a silk glove... but even if I place her leading skills in high regard, I just don't see how she could maintain both the Empire and the Republic under her heel without destroying them and reshaping them completely. The main problem with the Alliance that will be its downfall, in my mind, is the fact that it is entirely built around one savior who was supposed to fight off an unstoppable ennemy. You are the savior and the ennemy was Zakuul. Now, you have saved everyone and you own Zakuul. Your job is done and a lot of those who followed you may not see any reason to follow you anymore.
  22. I'm currently using the Cathar weaponry to try and roleplay like my char owns a Sith Sword. But... what about a real Sith Sword ? The design would be that of a "simple" decorated sword, with lightnings coursing along the blade when it is wielded. The color of the lightnings would abviously be determined by the cristal socketed into the sword. Simple and awesome.
  23. I didn't get to Lord Scourge yet, but I don't like him... but it's mainly because of the novel used to exploit Revan in SWTOR. I don't like the story, I don't like how poorly the Exile is written. I don't like how they rob everyone of their headcanon simply because they must have Revan (something even the comics didn't do when they used Revan, keeping him/her gender neutral). But alas, that's not the topic and I think this won't affect my opinion about Lord Scourge in the end.
  24. Sith Inquisitor : None. I might say I like Andronikos a lot less than the others, but only because I struggle to see how he fit in. Random pirate... who helps me, sure, but like any other NPC in a quest. I don't keep those in my team. Every other companion has a use for my SI. Xalek, while bland, is my weapon. He is bows down to me and kill who I ask him to kill, my personnal assassin. Roleplaying my SI as someone who love History both because it's a potential source of power and just because, Telos makes a great asset. Ashara is this cute little apprentice with which my SI likes to have philosophical talks... plus, she finds funny to see her cling to her old teachings, even though she is has clearly fallen. Khem Val... my magnificent Force eat : a strong companion and a symbol of my own greatness. Sith Warrior : Quinn. My SW is a sadistic, power hungry and while not ******* crazy, sure likes killing and destroying a lot. Not having the option to end him felt off... Bounty Hunter : Skadge first, Mako second. Skadge : I play a proud, honorable and benevolent Hunter... this overly violent psycho don't fit with my BH : too violent ? My hunter likes a good fight, but likes helping people. Badmouthing me at every turn ? I'm a PROUD warrior... I would punch him in the face for badmouthing me... or simply shooting him where he stands because of his psychotic tendencies. If he was any other NPC, he would be dead by now. Mako : Proud, honorable and benevolent BH... and with the sense of honor that pushes to complete any contract. Having a child who cry every time I off someone AS PER THE TERMS OF THE CONTRACT... No, that won't do. Quite sad, because I find her otherwise quite enjoyable. Honorable mention to Gault : I like him as a character, my only problem is how he gets to become my companion. As said, my BH always fulfill her contracts... he was my mark, I wouldn't have agreed to his little... dishonorable trick. Imperial Agent : Kalyio and Scorpion Kalyio : I play her as an overall nice and benevolent person, but extremely pragmatic and loyal to the Empire. Kalyio is a ticking bomb... in this line of work, the only sane thing to do is to keep away from her when she has exceeded her usefulness. And being pragmatic and somewhat cold (she will help those in need if she get a chance), my Agent is still coldly carrying her duty... this means Kalyio needs to die. Scorpion : It's roughly the same problem : a sociopathic machine who openly wants to use you for her own gains, then discard you ? Why the hell would I want to keep such a thing with me ? Kill it ! Kill it with fire ! I haven't explored the republic side too much (Im in the middle of my Trooper playthrough). Now for KOTFE and KOTET... Koth. By god, is he annoying ! "This is MY SHIP because I know the legend better !" "What, you say Valkorion is a bad person ? SHUT UP I ADMIRE HIM AND I WON'T LISTEN ANYTHING YOU SAY ABOUT IT !" "No ! I rescued you to become a leader but, since I don't like your decisions, I leave... WITH YOUR... I mean my... SHIP !" Made even worse by the fact that I first encountered him with my SI, who is very much a Darksider (pragmatic type, not psychopath type) who don't like others defying her rule.
