Now I have played the new content and the first time through the only thing that bothered me was the mob grind. It wasn't until the second time going through that the old school cheap reply box got to me. As far as the story it flowed just fine. Does it match the current story line not really once you start to question things. The loss of companion replies and retorts is a big miss. Oh wow they approve or they will remember that. Big deal have them say something! The biggest plot whole is the fact you character has no idea about them. Neither does Marr. Both of you with Satele are the big wigs of the galaxy, and not noticing an outside force that wipes all resistance from the face of two different planets is not only unknown but never noticed by the powers that be. That is one big hole in the plot. It would of been better if Viatate became Valkorion during the time right after Revan nearly killed him. That Revan distracted him or fractured him. Valkorion is what Revan could have been. The ultimate force user neither light or dark. Viatate being a separate clone of the emperor only purely dark. A copy of Valkorion but only one side. That he wanted to consume the entire galaxy is a Kriea wish (death of the Force) and not an emperor wish. He always wanted total domination period.
This puppet syndrome could be explained. Viatate being a dark side avatar of the force had a purpose to be immortal. He got that. After a thousand years some one finally has the strength to challenge him and he changes his mind?? No he still wants to attack the Republic and take control of the entire galaxy. He finds Zakuul and sets up his puppet/Voice to run things. His sane mind goes off and builds up the Eternal Empire cause he doesn't like how his Sith Empire is going. He is an immortal god figure! He is fishing for options for satisfaction. The emperor that wiped Ziost from the galaxy is gone and may return but I doubt it. Valkorion was the true Viatate. The one who held onto or regained his mortal view. Or his balanced view. So there are plenty of directions they could have gone.
A tie in a pre event of say seeing the destruction of two stronghold worlds one Republic and the other Sith, and then knowing the emperor had his hand in both attacks now that would be something the Outlander could know and the reason that Marr would not even consider bowing to Valkorion, because he relates the two as the same even as they grew differently.
I would really like to see a true third faction. Smugglers, bounty hunters can easily work both sides. Fallen Jedi, light side Sith could be a part of it as well. There is always someone not just corporations that work both sides.
But I see a lot of the decisions that went into this expansion as a means of saving money. No real change in one line plot for any class no more interaction with your companions and no more class voice acting. If they could have done it in Kotor they would have. I really am tired of accountants ruining a good game, but then again they did give it to subs for free so that should have warned us on how much detail they removed from the game just to save a buck.
