  1. Not to jump on the bandwagon, but...

Threat is "invisible" for the same reason that you can't move most UI elements, or have a combat log, or a LFG tool, or any other number of things specific people would like to see in game...

... because bioware hasn't implemented it.

You don't like that answer, but that's the only answer there is.

Will the game support these things in the future? Who knows?

Instead of asking why they're not in the game, try going to the suggestion forums and seeing how much support you can gather to have threat meters added to the game.

  2. You have not played the later level space missions. No one blows through them unless they have the top ship items thus later level space missions are just like any other PvE, once you are geared out, its easier...oh and BTW, can anyone name me what part of SWG free form combat was hard if you had a decent ship?

Oh wait...SWG space was not only a free form badly made space sim with long periods of NOTHING HAPPENING BECAUSE YOU HAD A LONG FLIGHT TO THE ACTION, it had no challege either!

Thanks for telling me what content I've done and haven't, I must be mistaken while you clearly know what I've done in-game.

It doesn't matter what level the mission is, they are always the same, that doesn't take a lot to master. Well unless you've got the attention span of a 5 year old.

Any part of space combat in SWG was more challenging than anything in SWTOR's space combat. You know, having enemy ships that did things differently each time, having to track targets, etc. Oh, and you know, STEER YOUR SHIP.

  3. I'll give you "pro-minigame" guys this, space combat in SWTOR and in the Star Wars movies do have one thing in common, they're the same every time I watch/play them.

Seriously, how is the existing space combat even considered a game? Next they'll make space combat a collection of quick time events.

  4. I've said it before, I'll say it again...

At the very least, they need to make the existing space combat unscripted.

I could probably finish some of the missions without even looking at the screen, or at the very least by using nothing but peripheral vision. They definitely do not require any sort of attention or skill after doing them once or twice.

That having been said, I'd love to see something like Jump to Lightspeed (party and pvp missions, being able to man the turrets on friends' ships, etc) in SWTOR.

  5. My buddy and I have two-manned every four-man heroic at level, up to level 40 so far, with only one that really gave us any real trouble (and even that one was a breeze once we reevaluated our tactics a bit).

I do see four-man groups above our level wipe frequently, though, so maybe we're just that good.

Same with a friend and I, both with sith sorcs. We were 2-manning heroic 4's (up until lvl 45, when I switched factions) without much difficulty, thanks to 2x heals, 2x CC.

  6. So if they agreed let you change it twice, how long do you think before someone posted saying twice was not enough?

Leave AC's as they are, imo. Like you said, you choose your AC quite early, it's not that hard to get to lvl 10 again (about 3 hours)

  7. I'd settle for a target of target frame, and movable (and an 'unlimited' number of) UI windows that don't automatically close unless you enable certain criteria (closing mailbox, vendor, etc)

Ultimately, I'd love to see support for custom UI's, if not full addon support, but I don't expect that overnight, if ever.

  8. Do not change roms would be my advice.

If you do, your authenticator will stop working. There is some sort of keying done outside of hardware, because I had done a titanium backup, changed roms and then restored from the backup.

Authenticator would not work, just gave an "unspecified" error.

Tried going back to the exact same rom I had been running previously, using the backup again, same thing.

Ended up having to call customer service to have the authenticator removed from my account, and as far as I know the bug still remains that once you remove a mobile authenticator, you cannot add it again, by any means.

  9. I guess paying 150 bucks doesn't entitle people to being a founder. No, it's the 15 bucks after it.

    EA sure loves their money.

The difference is, they've already got your $150 ;)

For the record, they've got $30 from me for next month (wife and myself) but they may not get the $30 after that if they don't take up some of the slack.

  10. I did actually did spend the last 45 mins or so reading most (not all, some were just too much garbage to stomach) and while I quit doing software development professionally years ago, I can provide this info. (this is on my system, and your mileage may vary)

    a) SWTOR is multi-threaded

    b) SWTOR uses (at least) 4 cores

SWTOR's version of the HeroEngine uses all 4 cores in my Q9450, and creates multiple threads (the renderer itself may only be single threaded, however, I don't know)

  11.

To give you all some more insight, the ATI issue is due to a severe graphical glitch and we are in discussions with ATI to resolve this. Thank you for your patience.

What I would like to know is this...

If there's some severe graphical glitch that requires interaction w/ ATI, why is it not present if people force the AA in their Catalyst control panel?
