  1. Arise, and live once more. Neither Googling nor this thread have an answer to this. How do people in TOR measure time? Like, if you walked up to Malgus or Revan or whomever and said " hey, dude, what year is it" they wouldn't say " why, tis 396729 BBY ofc" What would they say?
  2. Casual Warzones and GSF. These are the two things SW:TOR does better than anyone else. So it makes sense BW doesn't really focus on them at all. If I wanted awesome narrative and writing, I'd play TSW. If I wanted well done and challenging PvE with a community focus to match it, I'd do Wow, Rift. Hardcore Arena driven PvP? WoW again. Nop. I don't want those things. Why I'm here and why I like TOR has to do with the experience of lvling toons via casual WZs and GSF. Those things are awesome fun here. Of course. 3.0 ( Awesome expansion btw. lol. ) completely destroyed the 2nd WZ bracket so I'm mostly down to GSF now. Thanks BW, for focusing on these features so heavily. It saddens me threads like this one will never be as popular as some epic whine threads about some dumb cartel market gambling machines being nerfed. It really makes me wonder what sort of people I play this game with. Glad I get to kill some of you in space.
  3. Malgus was one of the precious few NPC characters that actually had something going for them. Goals, agenda, plans to fail at. That alone makes as impressive resume as you could expect. Much untapped potential with his personality, too. They actually wrote a decent book about him, even. So of course it makes sense he has to die at some irrelevant lvl 50 vanilla fp. He is much more interesting than any other NPC heroes/villains in this game.
  4. 120 packs? Roflmao Trust me, regardless of the punchline and what you actually got, the joke is on you. " I literally throw my money at an international mega corporation with no strings attached! Yet, good things don't start happening to me. What is this?!"
  5. Just a small addition to rules, Stock stays stock through the night! No upgrades of any kind!
  6. Have the same problem. Also, should it be possible to give a non-guild member a key?
  7. That is how it works or " works" currently. For a long time, you could donate much, much more varied selection from your collection.
  8. There is a similar thread on Stronghold section of forums, but it makes a little quiet section and I really think this makes a pretty depressing problem that deserves a max. amount of visibility. I'm master of a guild that just unlocked their Guild Ship! I am unable to donate almost anything from my own collection of unlocked decorations to the Guild. My guildmate has the same issue. Friend who is an officer in - another - guild said she can no longer donate anything from her decorations menu to her own guild either. Only exception to above: pets/mounts, Utilities and Trophies. Everything else from your personal unlocked decorations menu can - not - be donated to guild at all at the moment? As far as I can tell, donating BoE items via guild bank works normally. Please tell me this is just a bug. Is this a widely known bug? Has BW spoken about this?

  10. Anyone know what happens in following scenario? Scenario A I am Subscriber. I have one man guild with a guildship. I go preferred. Do I somehow lose the ship, access to it or anything else when my sub ends? Scenario B I am a subscriber. I have a guild with couple of friends in it. We have Guildship. I stop being a subscriber. Does the guild move to another player when my sub ends?
  11. Thanks for repeatedly answering, on entire community's behalf, on question" what sort of add-ons would people like to have?" I bet entire community appreciates your insight on this. " Don't need no numbers cuz we can ask ppl!" Dude. That's awesome. Basically, your counterpoints are mostly you proceeding to present a little more tedious, much less reliable, much more impractical solution to what an add-on would provide. Yes, you've figured it is actually entirely possible to play and enjoy this game without add-ons. Good job. You can't seriously compare all the utility and wealth of options available in Damage Meters to some alt-tabbed parsing. Comparing actual readable in-game profiles to you writing and sharing them via forums approaches arguing just for the sake of being able to disagree. It is two steps from " We don't need to play video games, we have our imagination and we can imagine much more fun games than anything BW makes! Don't need no game for fun. : )" Can you seriously claim you've never missed ability to write in-game notes in this game, even if you aren't an Rper? " Who cares of UI Customization mods cause you can customize some of it in-game!" Pls. At least wait until you have even some measure of freedom in picking how your buffs, debuffs and cooldowns are displayed. Then you can come back here and - TRY -to make this argument. Then I will prove you wrong. Ultimately, as far as UI is considered, it boils down to this: A) 10 or so overworked devs have limited amount of time at their disposal. They use some of this time designing a UI they think people might like. B) Few thousand people use some of their time to design a UI they like to use. Which one do you recon results in a better toolkit for you? " But you can move action bars now!!! " : D
  12. Really like this idea, I'm glad such event is being fixed on Prote. We have pretty awesome community there, and we've been..ripe for hosting something like this for some time I think! Joining on ValCain-Stock or Cainval-Stock or some such! Maybe this makes bit of a clue Xin?: p
  13. Inviting one and all to join The Progenitor Stock Night! DATE: April 11th TIME: 21:00 - 00:00 GMT SERVER: Progenitor EU Rules: All ships allowed provided they have stock components and crew. You may swap the copilot. Stock stays stock through the night! No upgrades of any kind! If you are interested, please reply to this forum with your player name for the event. It would be nice if people made a new alt with the word stock on it, so everyone knows you're in for the stock night action! First Expeditionary Fleet will be sharing their teamspeak channels for this, contact Etrii imp side or Junn rep side for login data. - Etriganek (Just posting on Etri's behalf, I am not he!)
  14. You most def want to hope that is what they'll STILL be doing in 2017, 2019 and as long as the lot of us care of this game. MMO in live dev should - always- be " balancing classes" It is a job that should never end. You can never reach some perfect 100% zen balance in MMO. And even when MMO does. by some miracle, manage to reach a 'balanced' state, it is almost guaranteed to shatter again sooner or later. Always changing, any half decent MMO is. - Yoda Them " balancing classses" is approx 10 times better news than them adding pile of more talking heads. Nobody in their right mind plays this game for it's post vanilla storylines, lol.
  15. Galactic Starfighter. Casual Warzones and experience of leveling characters through them. These are the only bits of SW:TOR where the game truly shines in any way. These things it does better than any other MMO I've tried. In case of GSF, SW:TOR is actually unique. Everything else is done/provided better somewhere else. ..Ofc, 3.0 kinda broke the 2nd WZ bracket, so maybe we are down to GSF now. It saddens me greatly what some people who like playing video games have become. Significant minority of SW:TOR players are completely alienated from any form of challenge - This group of people doesn't care if PvP, end game PvE or 4 man FP mechanics or anything like that is balanced at all; they don't want to do challenging content . All they care about is how the new CM bathrobe looks nice and whether or not it looks awesome to use flamethrower when fighting lvl 50 mobs at lvl 60. By "challenging content " I don't actually mean usual Hardcore Vs Casual busines at all, simply content that doesn't treat you and your party as incompetent idiots. Content that doesn't literally defeat itself for you. Content that actually gives you possibility to fail. Difficulty, game challenging you, you having to perform well and learn your class. These things have gradually slid entirely off the radar for some people. Learning to play a game and then performing well as the game challenges you..it has stopped being a thing for some. This is depressing. If experience of playing games had always been so alienated from challenge and learning, then we wouldn't have video games at all; our ancestors would have simply grown bored of playing games long before consoles, PCs or electricity got invented.
  16. It saddens me how GSF makes such a rare abbreviation in dev speak. Subjective: GSF is by far the best part of the game. For months now, one of my characters after another has stopped being a Sorc, Trooper, Knight etc and has started being a starfighter pilot instead. GSF is more or less all I do in-game anymore. Watching two lazily written talking heads going on and on and on about sweet nothings Vs. the thrill of pouring proper Ion volley to enemy bomber, then retroing off the blast radius of his mines..It has never felt like much of a decision which of these to pursue. Objective: As long as we speak of AA(A) video game industry, there is almost not a single modern game that'd even share a genre with GSF. It is quite unique. Most assuredly much more so than rest of the SW:TOR. Huge opportunity to really widen the audience. It deserves more love and attention.
  17. You guys still at it? ROFLMAO. All this fuzz about single CM item that was clearly ,ridiculously, economy crushingly broken at launch. This would be absolutely hilarious if it didn't tell such a sad tale about what this community actually cares about. You'll be getting more cool Cartel items guys. Don't worry about that. It is free, easy low effort money for BW. And awesome bathrobes for you. You'll be getting tons of them. I promise. One good, interesting thing about the massive trash bin this thread makes: Study in just how incredibly loud a loud minority can be. Like 1% of community is upset about this. Yet, they generate insufferable amount of noise.
  18. I'm amazed this game is a success. Good amount of people love bits and pieces of the game I can't stand. On the other hand, few things TOR actually does better than any other MMO get either ignored or ruined by devs and players alike. Never cared about stories that much. There is an absolutely humbling amount of story-content, awesome voice acting to boot. However, overall Bioware approach to video game narrative has always kinda irked me. Even when it is done well(ME) . Low effort, unimaginative and frustrating by default. I hate it I'm taken away from game and presented a dumb close up of 2 heads talking. I don't see a single awesome thing about dialogue wheel. Why people like it..I've no clue. Times I actually get to decide something that has any kind of a meaningful effect to the actual game I play can be counted with fingers of one hand. Check that, it can be counted with one finger. (Jaesa) If you want to experience good video game narrative, check out The Secret World. Leveling a toon through casual WZs. This is where TOR shines. This is a great deal of fun and very rewarding. With that in mind, it of course makes sense 3.0 breaks the last bracket. GSF. GSF is by far the best thing in game. Without this, I'd be long gone. So of course it gets ignored by the devs. GSF is quite unique even in terms of video gaming industry as a whole. Very, very few games provides what it does.(Arcadey, modern day light 'space sim') It actually has really good flight engine and surprisingly good balance. Yet, TOR's useles,s cartel crate popping community never bothered to 'learn' to play it-> As result, people think it sucks. Majority of community cares unreasonable amounts about mostly irrelevant storylines. I assume same nightmare people always get really excited when a new cartel pack gets released.I wish people cared of different things.
  19. " I don't like addons. I don't want to use then. This is why I am happy they are not in game and equally happily cheer when they are denied from everybody else, too. You know, because I don't like them." Few scenarios about the awful addons and how terrible they are: - - - I do a Warzone as a sorc healer. Another sorc healer is there. He does 300k more healing than I despite us being in very similar situations through the match. World of Warcraft: I take a look at awesome, detailed, pietastic pie chart about the match. I get to analyze my own performance, and his. I get to see if he favors different heals than ones I got. If he crits more. If it's just his better gear. I get to see if there are differences in how we heal. Maybe it was just the case of him being busier than I through the game?Let's investigate! SWTOR: Gee, I wonder why that dude healed so much more than I did! Oh well. - - - - - - I'm doing some utterly irrelevant dumb flashpoint as a DPS. This game has no 4 man content that'd be designed to challenge you. Setting goals for yourself would be fine way to fight boredom. World of Warcraft: I get to be in a DPS race against mineself! Nice, rewarding feeling of watching an upwards curve of your DPS output over the weeks, as your gear and skills get better. SW:TOR: Hmm recon I tell em I need a " bio break" and go afk for 5 mins. I hope to god they are at boss by then.. - - - - - - I'm one of them weird roleplayer peoples who roleplay. World of Warcraft: I get this huge toolkit of pure awesome utilities at my disposal. You suddenly have a very detailed profile page for your characters. You get an in-game way to write and read descriptions and biographies and such of yourself&your fellow players. You get an actual journal to write in. Ability to write in-game books. Ability to make any kinds of RP exclusive items you can think of. SW:TOR: Well, at least we can sit on chairs now! : ) - - - I've always hated terrible and impractical cooldown displays of TOR/WoW. They seeM designed for somebody who clicks the abilities, not for somebody who uses keybinds for almost everything important. It is really hard for me to keep track on cooldowns and them expiring. Due to reasonably low amount of complaints I see about this, I assume it makes some sort of a rare, personal problem. I bet you got couple of those too! WOW: I have dozens of awesome cooldown mods to choose from. Each of them provides some increasingly different, weird and creative solution to displaying your cooldowns. It is almost certain I find one that is just right for me. SW:TOR: Well, I get to pick if them abilities in them action bars are small, large, blue or..bit more blue. - - - Of course, none of the above matters. I'm super glad I can do none of it and I'm even more glad *you* can't do any of this either. No matter wether you'd want to or not. You see, I resist all of the above to death because SOMEBODY MIGHT OUT-DPS ME AND THEN POST A DPS LOG IN OPS CHAT :( WAAH ELITISM WAAAAAHHHH YOU DONT GET TO TELL ME HOW I PLAY MAH GAME STOP TRIGGERING ME
  20. Heheh oh man how much I like this douche. Him and Jaesa are only NPC characters that have character. Rest of em explore different ways of producing " meh?" " ehhh" and " uh whatever" in me. Well okay. Khem is cool too. Rest of them blow.
  21. [Ops Chat]"Guys, hey guys, I'm sure this guy uses hacks! How else could he have killed me like that He one shotted..no, check that, ZERO shotted me ***?!?! Surely he has activated them hax??! " - said almost everybody at some point or another during their first 50 games or so. ..Answer is almost always some pretty mundane combination of pods, rails, BLCs,crits, death match damage buffs, multiple people shooting same target at once, etc. My question to vets of thousands of games is as follows: Have you ever (well, once you stopped being a noob yourself!) suspected that there'd be something more sinister? Have you ever felt like you've encountered some elaborate !HAX!11 that goes beyond the suspected lag shield abuse? Myself, I've played like 2000 games total or so. Sometimes, people who lag most def port around in ways that leaves much to your imagination. ..Even so, not once do I recall thinking " heh, this game was totally solved by that lagging dude and his pesky lag shield!" Besides occasional lagging guy porting all over the place, I can't say I'd recall seeing anything too suspicious myself.
  22. Yeah Strikes are fine. T1 Strike is excellent, well balanced ship. Small nerf on T2 scout would make T1 Strike perfect. Even in current state of matters, it flies great in almost any situation.
  23. Hehe, it is telling of my GSF addiction how this was actually the first thought I had upon hearing of Rogue One. I really hope somebody important in BW had same idea as well.
  24. Wellp, GSF is the only unique and truly awesome part of the game. Since you left, they've added few new piles of talking heads, completely irrelevant storylines and four man group content that in no way challenges or excites players. Plenty of new bathrobes, too. Either love GSF or switch to WoW.
  25. Last time I checked, there is absolutely no four man group content in this game that would challenge you in any meaningful way. Certainly not to a degree where you'd have to learn to play your class. Want to do everything right, play your class like a pro, optimize DPS and be unsung hero of the group? Great! You really don't have to though; No four man content is really designed with you in mind. Maybe you'd rather herp derp and press flashy buttons in environment where game in no way tries to beat you? Grats, entire group content of SW:TOR is made for you. One gigantic pillow castle with your name on it. Lucky you. This void-of-challenge - environment is eagerly embraced and favored by vast majority of the community. In this environment, what other meaningful traits does any ability have, besides how awesome it looks? I really can't think of any. Of course, sadly, here subjective bits come to play. Like I'm totally a special snowflake too. I have both Vanguard and Powertech and often do WZs and stuff on them. I guess that means everything about these classes should be made with me in mind as well. I love rocket punch and flamethrower. Thse things are awesome. This Full auto ir whatever it was called? Ehh. Not missing it yet.
