  1. Would also be nice if they fixed the bug where if you swap chars, each with different gathering skills, one of the skills shows as a fourth skill - which in itself isn't a huge issue - but then means nodes for the bogus skill also appear on the minimap Between those two bugs, about 1/3 of the nodes on my minimap aren't gatherable
  2. http://Http://www.ahtocity.info/f has forums up for Ahto City (EU PvP), but so far I haven't really advertised them, and there's no-one posting, but AC players are more than welcome there, and it takes a few people to get things going anyway.
  3. There's a way to do this already in a way, although it isnt free. I'm using Splashtop Remote Desktop to stream windows to my ipad/iphone - with that I can login, move about, chat, craft etc - even over 3G (although wifi is much better). You can run pretty much anything via Splashtop, but games control isnt great although the fps is decent plus you get sound (as a bonus, I use it to access spotify on the go ) It does necessitate having your pc running to use it, and you cant login to windows with it - it only works once logged in, but it is possible Sure, an official app would be nice, but until then, I can manage
  4. Oh, don't get me wrong, playing via Bootcamp isn't a problem as such, but I would love to play AND use the Mac software I'm used to for everything else at the same time, rather than play OR use the Mac software For that privilege, I'm happy to take a performance hit (but not as much as Parallels - what the heck did they do to the release client ??), use a DIY solution or an official solution, or even pay a premium to do so. As far as I'm concerned, I can live without it, but life would be so much easier with it
  5. Firstly, please drop the attitude, no one insutled you, it isn't harming you and wont affect you, so what's the problem ? Most Mac users don't feel "entitled". If you read my post you will see that I've been looking at ways of running the windows version under WINE/Parallels etc - that's hardly asking Bioware to dump the Windows version and make a Mac version. What is also known is, using Transgaming's CIDER system, a wrapper based version can be made in a very short amount of time, sometimes in a couple of days, by the people that understand what the game requires, which dll's and libraries etc. Heck - if someone posted those details, most Mac users would probably be able to roll their own in a few minutes. So, we're more than happy to work on this ourselves but certainly wouldn't say no to Bioware giving a hand - they dont need to rewrite the entire game for Mac (although I would happily pay again for a native client). And finally, as I've already said, until progress is made, we'll keep using Parallels or Bootcamp.
  6. The game will run in parallels, not fantastically, but will run. I'm trying a windows 7 VM and it's a little jerky on my 2.5ghz quad core i5/16GB RAM/HD6750, but I'm sure those with slightly beefier specs will find better performance, and I can probably make some efficiencies on the win7 install to eek out more performance. Booting into win7 via Bootcamp, and the game is as smooth as Ive seen at 1080 res and high gfx settings. I would hazard a guess that a WINE or CIDER version would run at pretty close to native Win7 speed. I've managed to run the launcher, patch and watch the intro FMV's under WINE, but thats as far as things go, and I dont know enough about WINE to work out the next steps. Why bother ? Well, as much as I loved windows 7 and my PC, I think Lion is a fantastic OS, and I find most apps I need to run work faster and more reliably on it, and I just plain prefer the look and feel of Lion to Windows. I would much prefer a native version, but even a working Wineskin/CIDER wrapper would do if it worked well. Until then, I'll do the solo, no hassle stuff, under Parallels, and the serious gaming in Win7 until another option comes along. This isnt about Windows vs Mac, or "my OS is better than yours", it's about the fact that Mac use is increasing very fast and there are a large number of people running them that would love to be able to play the game in the OS they prefer.
  7. Using Wineskin, Ive managed to get the launcher to work, and logging in for the first time I get the inro videos etc, but thats where it ends currently, it just hangs on the loading screen with the little spinning graphic in the bottom left.
  8. Look forward to seeing you. At the moment, the IRC channel is pretty dead (and the forum only has 1 post be me ), but hell, most people haven't got ingame yet or decided if they're staying put. Hopefully we can get a few people using at least the forum so that we can kick some life into things.

    SWG Chimaera

Mystic Omelette Faction are on Ahto City too (we were on US-Tarquinas until EU launch, then Chimaera for EU, and owned the village of Straylight on Dantooine, quite a pvp hot spot).
  10. Just wanted to add, as there are no official server specific forums, I've set one up at www.ahtocity.info. Obviously, if official ones appear then it wont be of much use, but feel free to post there in the meantime.
  11. I'm putting one up for Ahto City. It will be on http://www.ahtocity.info once the DNS changes
  12. Hi all, while we all wait to find out when we're going to get access etc, feel free to join #ahtocity on irc.quakenet.org for a whine, chat or whatever. There aren't many in there yet, but everyone is welcome, and maybe we can get some kind of server community going seeing as there aren't any server specific forums (yet). The only channel rules - no spamming, racism etc, and please try to keep the chat in English where possible
  13. Was going to ask the same thing myself - server specific forums are a must IMHO, without them you can't have the rich interaction a healthy server needs. I don't mind throwing a forum for the server I'm on, but I would prefer to know whether or not we are getting official ones, and if so, when?
