I've been stuck on the "The launcher is being updated. Please wait" message for like an hour already. Is this normal? Will closing the launcher through task manager solve it or mess it up even more? :/

Bump, 'cause my problem still isn't solved... Does no one know what to do?

Hello there... I have a problem So I haven't played swtor for some time, but when 5.3 came out, I decided to update. However, the download was stuck at about 60% and didn't move... I decided to close the launcher and start anew (probably not a wise decision, I know). But then, the error message showed up: "This application has encountered an unspecified error. Please try this patch again." I tried restarting the launcher, which didn't work. Then I deleted bitraider - also didn't work. I decided to let it rest for a while, thinking it was problems with servers/patch itself... Here I am today, trying to update my game and getting the same error. I decided to reinstall completely, but when I did so and tried to install the game freshly, I received a different error. "Unable to retrieve patch data. Please check network connection. (311)". I googled some solutions, including getting rid of bitraider and changing DNS servers (according to this - http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=790450&page=2 ) - nothing worked. Uninstalled the game once again and tried to download again, but now I can't even login - infinite loading. I don't know what's going on... I have Avast antivirus, and I've tried disabling it (I've seen people saying it might affect the download) which made no difference. Please help me, I really want to play /and sorry for my English, haven't spoken for a while/

Yes, I have mentioned that in my post, that i had searched and my card is not a pre-paid one, so it's not the issue. But nevermind now, I tried to change my country and it suddenly worked! A mystery. Thank you for taking your time to answer me, nonetheless

So a short while ago I got a new Visa card, because my previous one is expiring in less than a month. Today, I wanted to buy CC, added my new card to the account (it all went smooth, didn't give me any errors), and when I tried to purchase the coins, it gave me this message: I didn't cancel my purchase, obviously. Tried it like dozen times, still didn't work. Last time I bought CC was August 30th, so it shouldn't be that problem with too many purchases at a time. I did some search and saw that it may be the issue with pre-paid cards, but my Visa is not a pre-paid card. So, well... I really don't know what to do. Calling CS is kinda pointless for me, sadly, I'm not that good at spoken English and I doubt I could explain my problem to the CS. But perhaps some of you have had this issue before and can tell me what to do? Thank you in advance.

First of all, please don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining here. Free stuff is always good, and if I don't like it I won't use it. The rewards aren't what keeps me subbed, anyway But I wonder, why was HK chosen as a theme of the sub rewards? Was it only because many people seemed to like him? But I don't see anyone particularly happy about those rewards, I mean, there are people who are okay with that, people who don't care and people who complain. But I've yet to see a person genuinely saying, 'Oh! An HK helmet/weapons! That's exactly what I have always wanted!' Okay, that jet pack was cool. And helmet has a nice voice modulation, so some of my chars wear it from time to time. But it looks like all that comes next will be about HK. Why? One would think that it'd be more logical to have some Zakuulan/Alliance stuff as rewards, that's what the story is about after all. HK isn't even a major character - after his death in Chapter 8 and some of us getting him back he is never mentioned. It's... a bit odd for me. Same goes for 'play as HK' bonus chapter. Why HK again? Wouldn't it make more sense to play as Koth, Theron, Senya, Lana? It would provide an interesting insight on the whole deal, tell us something more about these characters, their motives and all that. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the matter - because I can't seem to figure it out

Hello I apologize if this has already been covered somewhere, but I haven't seen anything related. So I wonder how does it play out when we had a romance active in vanilla story, then romanced Lana/Theron/Koth in KotFE, then, when our initial romance option returned, decided to continue the romance with them. So far I've had Koth reacting to my Trooper reuniting with Jorgan, but what do Lana or Theron say about it? Is the situation any different for Kaliyo, do Lana/Koth/Theron react as well? I don't have any agents with a Kaliyo romance or another fem!Trooper to check myself, and YT has nothing (or I just wasn't looking hard enough). Thanks in advance guys

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that Sith on Alderaan who you meet in the SI class story. You could flirt with him as a female Inq Of course, the 'romance' was very brief and he died soon after, but still the option was there. Though I'm all for more male Force-users as a romance, come on Bioware!

I have the same problem. In game, it shows 0 cartel coins. On the website it shows the real amount of coins (900 or something). I guess it's some kind of glitch, perhaps connected with loading issues people seem to have now?

So I was subbed on all the dates (July 31, August 10, August 31, September 30 and October 19), and I have a recurring 3-month sub - but sometime in August I bought some 60-days subs, because I wasn't sure if I would have money on my card in October to pay for my 3-month sub Does it count for being subbed from July to Ocotber? I was considered a subscriber in-game, so I think it should count, but I saw someone here not being sure if the 60 days sub works for early access. My patch is still downloading (just came home from university), so I can't check, but maybe someone can clarify whether I can get early access or not?

I have many chars at level 60 or close to it, and only 4 of them have finished both SoR and Ziost. I feel really tired of doing the same storyline, and I wonder if it's necessary to go through it in order to play the new expansion. Or can I just level my chars to 60 via FPs and then jump straight to KotFE without doing SoR?

I've been reading this thread for a while, but never had any story to share. Today though, I got something funny. I queued as my sorc DPS, got grouped with a sorc healer, jugg tank and merc dps. Everything goes smooth until the first gear drops. It's a willpower piece, so either for me or the healer. I don't need it, so I press greed. Healer however, selects need. So does the tank. He wins the roll. I start to think that he is one of the ninja-looters, but then he writes "what the f, i didn't want it. who needs this gear guys?" He then gives it to the healer who needed it. I assume it was an accident, so nothing wrong here. We continue. He selects need on every loot, even when it is not for him, but is willing to give it to others... I start to think it's some kind of very complicated trolling, so I ask him "why do you need on everything?" "Because I don't want it" was his reply. "then select greed", I say. Turned out that he wasn't native English speaker, and in his language, "greed" meant something along the lines of "I want this thing, and I'm gonna get it whatever it takes", while "need" meant "I could use it, but I'm fine if I don't get it". I'm not a native speaker either, but somehow I never had this problem with need/greed Oh well. Language issues can be annoying. But the tank learned the lesson and apologized for his continuous needing on other classes' gear, and we had a good laugh about it.
