  1. Currently i am 50 mostly in Columni and Tionese gear, two crafted purple runes, with two Ops lightsabers... justice and um forgot the other one (i think it was Peace) for the offhand http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/gear/29174/justice Someone offered me a crafted Custom Built Augmented Saber, how can i tell if it is better than what i have etc without taking out all the mobs and putting them? I presume that because its orange the damage output number on it will be lower than the purples? Or does that change given the mods in it or is it based purely off the level of the item and will the augment i put inside counter that?
  2. If its just generally soloing i used T7 and got him some nice gear, but make sure you turn off some of his abilities that cause aggro, that way you both can share the aggro resulting in less healing (and more importantly less death for him) I find t7 so much more fun to have a around... but it does mean more downtime between fights. I only bring Doc out for harder fights with champions of the like. I find having a healer companion makes the game just too easy, makes me forget how squishy we Sentinels truly are. With Doc it sometimes it almost feels almost too easy, almost like cheating. id rather a challenge.
  3. thats weird, my complaint with the game is that the planet levels are out of whack the other way. I have always been two-three levels ABOVE each zone for the whole game, and i didn't do many heroics or flashpoints along the way, mainly solo'ed.. my complaint is that quests and zones grey out too soon, i missed out a few bonus quest series like Alderaan for that reason. Even had to do most of my companion quests when they were grey, some netting a whopping +5 exp point... lol
  4. +10 to readability... for use of a *maniacal laugh*
  5. HAH i was wondering about that, wasnt looking at the dates as i was reading... (fight spoilers) I just completed this yesterday and actually thought it was a let down in some senses i was pumped up ready for an epic fight. i stayed on target just keep hitting him (ignoring every thing and everyone else) and he died almost too easy... so straight forward i was expecting it to be a 'fake' fight and for me to have to take on a UBER version of him or something... but no. I was 50 and only had like two purples pieces and T7 was fairly well equipped.
  6. that is so true and what in my heart is missing from this game world, dont get me wrong loving my time in game but nothing in it is really earned and exploring is so limited and safe. The first time i had to go from Qeynos to Freeport in EQ2 i was merely 20 and did it one day because i was sick of questing and was just bored... so i just decided to start walking and kept walking. I had no idea where i had to go to get there and didnt look it up, ending up in Nek Forest out of my depth but having the time of my life. There was a sense of living in a world and being a citizen of it. Its a little harder to achieve when the zones are all so independent and confined... exhaustion zones!!!!! Beside Datacrons and the odd quest in the middle of nowhere every zone feels like your hand is being held and you follow their path, not just because EVERY quest update is on the map, there is no thinking at all involved. I spend little time thinking is the path safe ahead because i know if i stay on a road/path i wont be attack let alone die. I am loving my time in SWTOR but it is just so linear, it doesn't excite my intellect. Sure not every game should do that like EQ or EVE but i for one wish that World of Warcraft was never invented because ever sense MMO gaming has nosed dived in the complex stakes. Makers no longer seem to make the best game but the most commercial... Shame but until a game comes along to break that mold, i am going to continue to love my Jedi Sentinel and his trusty T7!
  7. Not so much... i was doing the Sand People quest, i wasnt flagged. there was like 4 republic guys around, no Sith that i could see. I was killing an Infected beast (so a single mob, so didnt use any of my Sentinel AoEs) suddenly there is all this fighting around me. Like 20 red sand people, a few of those infect beasts all attacking me. So i started AoEing to survive. I finish killing everything i had like 25% left, i take a breath and then i see two red 50 Sith (im 49) pop out of invis and kill me within moments. I like seeing Sith around and in fact its the worse part of this game for so long the sides are separated... but there is something messed up with the World Event with relation to PVP. Although more than likely its that some PVP players know how to bend the rules to force it on to those that dont. EG i go on my merry way after that, amused and laughing about it. but then i was trying to do the last part of the Mural quest, still unwanting flagged, i got grieved three times in 15mins BY THE SAME TWO SITH. alas it was late and all my guildies weren't close enough to help. It stopped being funny and pure bullying. Its not about being situational, its about casual gamers like myself who play on a PVE server trying to do a world event but being forced (somehow??) into PVP... as PVE player i dont know and frankly shouldn't need to know the rules of flagging for PVP.
  8. I am having no problem with it other than it doesnt work on Strong (or higher) level mobs, to those it is just a hit but i thought that was more by design
  9. Sorry i dont see where you are coming from... i When i first started playing with 1.2 and new UI, every fight felt a little off. Timing wise and Focus building was my main concern. At first i thought it was 1.2 (and general nerf paranoia) then i decided it was finally having UI arranged how i wanted it, lvl 48 is too late in game to relearn where each button is... but the thing is, now a few days later (with no new gear since then) i am feeling a lot tougher, general fights seem a lot more fun, my love for the class is even greater not only is Master Strike hitting much much harder but the best thing is Pommel strike is much more useable now, at many different times, especially given you can now use it... "Force Leap-POW-Pommel Strike" the first mob in the group is basically dead that always makes me smile
  10. only for the US?!! Once again thanks for nothing Bioware! last i saw this is an international game
  11. its so simple you have to wonder why DEVS didnt put it in as a default?! if it was there as part of the default interface like general and trade, it could have only served to help. there is VERY little sense of community in this game Cant work out why in EQ2 with its much larger servers i got to know so many more 'strangers' merely by name by conversations in their level range chat channels. not only did they help find groups in your range they created a universal community of your peers chatting and discussing game stuff (and yes alas the occasional tools) but you get to know your peers and their characters. some you liked some you didnt its clear they wanted the Fleet to be the social hub but without thinking what the hell are people going to do while sitting around waiting... basically there is nothing to do there. Players can create there own custom chat channels all they like but they will never replace ones created 'officially' and appear as part of default UI... its sad but true!
  12. Since getting Pommel Strike, Blade Storm has become so useful... because currently pommel strike almost one shots mobs (im lvl 42), so in itself blade storm isnt very useful unless using it as basically a range attack to stop a mob momentarily... when killing a group of say three normal mobs in a group i will... 1. use force leap on first mob, then precision slash to get a a few more points build up (that mob is now at least half dead) 2. Change to second mob, use Blade Storm, followed by Pommel Strike (that mob is now dead or almost) 3. change to third mob Force Sweep (followed rapidly by Cyclone Slash if need be) and watch the first two mobs and almost the third fall down dead thats all within a few brief seconds, my only complaint is the cool down on Pommel Strike so i cant use it and Blade Storm more and on ^mobs
  13. In EQ2 you can and its a popular feature those of us who dont play to get to 50 the fastest, who value the journey more than the destination! and more than everything wish this game had it, like the OP i am so far ahead of the recommended level of a planet by the time i get there... which means i am not doing PvP or space missions as much as i would like
  14. I want to be a Jawa Jedi Knight... hes already got the right cloak thing happening!
  15. WANT! 1,000,000 x WANT! I am not a huge raider or feel the need to prove myself against the DPS of others but i hate this new move in gaming to hide away the numbers and combats logs. The want to see the damaging im doing AND the mobs against me, i want to see when a certain proc activates, i want to see (in those busy places like groups/raids) if my attacks are connecting or resisting etc. Sure most of these things are shown on screen during the fight but alas due to the mechanics of the game (no autoattacks, if your not spamming a button your doing nothing) if your not looking at the hotbars, your looking at groups health bars or incoming ads so cant always see the numbers flying or a certain skills animation attivates... thats why combats logs are great. At the end of a fight you can scroll back and see what was working and what wasnt. Like as a Jedi Sentinel there is one spell that i keep using and i swear it does nothing, i see its animation but dont see it actually doing damage... if i had a log i would have an answer etc Combat logs arent all about the MIN/MAXers of the world!
