As others have said, you're better playing as the two classes that share a starter zone. So Jedi Knight/Jedi Consular or Bounty Hunter/Imperial Agent etc. Remember that you can ALWAYS go with her in to her class quest areas (the red barrier that keeps other classes out will turn blue as soon as she enters, and you can then follow her) so she'll never have to go and do any bit alone. The only single thing she'll have to do without you are the odd conversion on her holo-communicator thing. I'm playing this way with my girlfriend and it's actually very satisfying, especially as you get to watch two storylines progress! It can be quite a good idea to pair up a healer and a tank (or even just one of those and a DPS.) A smuggler healer and a commando tank, for instance, will probably see you through the Heroic 2+ areas as a duo fairly easily. I'm playing as a Jedi Shadow tank and my girlfriend is just Jedi Sentinel DPS, and we're finding them quite easy. The great thing is that you'll rack up the social points just by playing as a duo grouped!

Love it. I would also add that I've been really lucky with the community on my server so far. I've grouped a lot and not a single jerk yet. As for end-game... I don't care. The experience I'm having is simply worth the entrance fee. If I feel the need to unsub at any point, it won't invalidate the fun I've had, nor the value of it. If there's enough content to keep me happy, great. Either way, any expansion that added another chapter to my Char's story would get my money. Edit: Forgot to say, I was a fully-paid up hater (although I didn't bother posting about it, not that kind..) up until I got in to the penultimate beta weekend.

Having played a few to level 10 or so, the Trooper is definitely the one that has the most emotional impact at the end of the starter planet, and you certainly feel motivated to continue the story. And grateful that a soldier doesn't have to subscribe to the Jedi 'Revenge is bad' motto That said, Consular is my main and I'm really enjoying it, possibly because it does a very good job of making each planet's missions feel like part of a very important greater arc as well as decent self-contained issues.

Apparently the big bonus quest memory issue was fixed. My girlfriend and I finished Taris yesterday, and we did everything there. It's possible but very unlikely that we missed a bonus quest, but it would be a huge coincidence if it was the problem one. Either way, neither of us had the memory issue at any point.
