  1. You are suffering from a delusion. Sorc do not heal and melt face. That simple. if your argument is that one class does okish DPS and other members of that class can heal them....what is the complaint? That one class is healing another while they DPS? That applies to every class in the game. Your complaint appears to be, remove healing so I can kill people.
  2. Apart from the one in your Avatar of course. People keep moaning about CC, has anyone ever died to a CC ability? 90% of them do no damage and those that deal damage deal a tiny amount of damage in comparison to every other ability. I think the problem is this, when you aren't paying attention, Sorc/Sage kill you. Then when you get frustrated and go after the Sorc/Sage you can't kill them because they burn their cooldowns to escape, they don't kill you, they don't even come close, but you want your revenge and when you don't get it you get upset. This is the simple truth.
  3. have any of those things ever actually killed anyone? No, they are survival tools. The moment you do damage after using any of those, they break. Besides which, don't some of the classes have immunity to such controls, not only through the resolve bar, but also through their own abilities?
  4. Dunno what dream world you are living in, that apparently a Sorc can stand in the middle of it all face melting people. Firstly, survivability requires movement, it requires getting away from the melee because they hurt a LOT. Secondly, the class has NO face melting abilities at all, all of our damage is low level compared to every other class. Thirdly, Sorc/Sage is NOT that good at AoE damage, like most AoE damage in the game it is a bit naff. You have to channel it, it is clearly visible to everyone and thus avoidable, and you are a sitting duck while doing it. Except for random procs which are unreliable. Sorc/Sage from my experience deal their damage by hitting many targets at once, not by doing one single AoE attack, but by DoTing many targets and having damage ticking on many targets. One of our abilities will proc a buff that will allow the next damage dealing ability with a cast time to be instant. I use it all the time, I will be hitting one guy, get the proc, tab target to someone else and DoT them with my biggest DoT which is now instant, than on to another target. That is how we deal big numbers over the course of a Warzone.
  5. Yeah but you aren't going to be topping any warzones with damage in that spec. Which is the point, all you did was gimp your healing so you could throw out a couple of DoTs every now again to get the 75k damage medal. Well done, but that isn't viable in the sense you can actually achieve anything, and if the game didn't have such a stupid medal mechanic, no one would do it.
  6. It is funny actually I bet if we look we will see posts from the same poster stating how much utility the Sorc/Sage has and how it has more than anyone else and therefore it is OP!!! Not of course realising that using utility requires skill, they all come with a cooldown pretty much and are situational, when is best to knock back, when is best to snare, to stun, to run. Apparently we just press tracer missile.
  7. So we shouldn't include the 2 years of beta testing in which Operative was pretty much Overpowered? Or the 4 months of Open beta testing when everyone realised that the Operative was overpowered? We will pretend that guild forums were not alight with the information that Operatives could kill people before they could stand up? Yeah we just ignore all that.
  8. People keep saying they are going to be in for a shock when they hit the 50 bracket. They will be in for a shock the moment they enter any PvP bracket. I am not God Mode when I enter PvP, I routinely die and get munched on pretty quickly by DPS classes in the sub 50 Bracket. Yes I sometimes end the entire Warzone with top Damage done, but I did that as a Sniper, the most underplayed class in the game. Let people Roll sorc/sage it is a fun class and PvE, while slow, is pretty easy to do solo. For PvP people will quickly realise that it isn't god mode, it isn't easy, and it certainly isn't any easy than any other class.....except maybe Marauder, I played that class, hated it in PvP.
  9. Because your DPS is higher. Oh noes, that ruined your argument. Nerf your damage a further 40-60% and then you can have my survivability.
  10. I don't think it is necessarily the CC of sage/sorc that is the problem. It is the CC of the game that is the problem. Resolve barely seems to work, is unpredictable and has flaws in the design, and every single class (bar like 1) has at least one CC ability and many have more than one. Fix CC in the game and then the CC that Sorc/Sage has won't seem so important.
  11. Not sure that the DPS is in combat, rather than just total time.
  12. Well it would depend, for instance, the Sorc/Sage has just burnt all their cooldowns, knockback, snare, stun, sprint, the only way to stop the Melee now is to snare him with Tele/Lightening which roots the Sorc in place while they use it. But surely by now his leap has returned, or his other abilities, perhaps he has a snare like my Marauder or a cable pull in like other classes, or an AoE root like the Jugg. The point is that the utility vs high melee DPS evens out. Both did the same overall damage. The fact that the melee did all theirs in the first 6 secs and the Sorc/Sage burnt their utilities to do their damage over 12 secs says one thing. The classes are balanced.
  13. The thing that is important in this scenario is that the Sorc/Sage is using the utility they have to nullify the Melee DPS. Yet at the end, they both done the same damage. Take away the Sorc/Sage's ability to nullify that damage and what will you have? The Melee DPS able to dish out massively more damage against the Sorc/Sage who will be unable to stop the MUCH higher DPS that the melee character is capable of.
  14. Of course it isn't an exploit. For there to be an exploit there has to be something in the game that is not working as intended, we call them bugs. Giving rewards for killing the enemy....check working as intended, clearly not a bug. How people choose to kill each other cannot be an exploit unless one of them is using a bug and "exploiting" that error to gain an advantage. It may need to be addressed but it cannot be an exploit.
  15. You just neglected to take a screenshot, probably too busy right.
  16. Sorcerer/Sage does not have high Burst dps. In Warfronts now, without ganking level 11s and stim stacking, the very most I have seen any Sorc/Sage hit for is 3k and that is after a combination of effects concur to allow that to happen and I have only ever seen it from lvl 50 Characters. Compare that to Melee classes that crit 3k quite easily, on normal, though perhaps cooldown based, hits, and they can do this in the sub 50 Warzones. Sorc/Sage are NOT a Class Cannon. We have no cannon like abilities. The Sorc/Sage is a Glass Dripping Tap. Yeah eventually we can erode Stone, but we won't be doing it any time soon.
  17. Yes it does. IF the melee class could reach their target their damage would have been much higher. You are basically arguing that the Operative does not have overpowered Damage because after they have killed someone it takes them 20 secs to run to someone else.....therefore their damage spread over that entire time is far far lower. Your Damage Per Second is the amount you deal over the time that you are attacking....not the time you go afk to get a drink.
  18. Yes because those abilities come at a cost, you act as if all of them are available all of the time. Each has a timer, many have a cast time that roots the Sorc/Sage into position. You have listed a bunch of abilities and completely ignored the meaning of this post. We have less DPS and more utility. All you have done is list the utility, and ignored the lower DPS.

    Nerf Sorcs/Sages

Bioware ignores you because you ignore basic facts. Like burst damage compared to sustained damage. I have not seen ANYONE in all the crying for nerfs explain the difference and how Sorc/Sage are STILL overpowered. They just point to a high damage total and cry.
  20. I know people don't want to hear this, because it doesn't fit with the crying to nerf Sorcerers, but unless you can use this information and then justify the cry for a nerf, your calls will fall on deaf ears. The Devs know this is how it works.
  21. I put this here because it appears that a lot of people in this game don't really understand DPS they appear to see a damage total and think that this is DPS. DPS is damage per second. I will give you two examples of a 1v1 fight. A Melee DPS Class jumps onto a Sorcerer and stuns him, he hits the Sorcerer 4 times. This requires him to take 4 global cooldowns, including the leap, of 1.5 sec each. Total time to deal the damage. 6 secs. The Sorcerer runs away, DoTs his opponent, snares him, then runs away, then he hits him with an instant damage ability, then runs, stuns his opponent and uses force lightening. 8 Global Cooldowns are used, the Force Lightening takes 6 secs. Total time 12 secs. Total damage for each class is completely equal. The Warfront ends. Both classes did 10k of damage. The DPS for the melee class is 1666. The DPS for the Sorcerer is 625. It is clear that the Sorcerer has lower DPS. However, the Melee character was unable to sustain his DPS for the full duration of the fight. Had the Melee character been able to sustain the level of DPS for the duration of the fight, a total of 16 secs, he would have done far more damage than the Sorcerer. As a ranged Class the Sorcerer is FAR better at sustaining their DPS for much longer periods of time. Thus total damage done at the end of a Warfront may show that the Sorcerer has more damage, but actual damage per second is far lower. I hope this clears up some of the confusion that I see on this board when people post up screenshots of the scoreboard at the end of the match.

    Sorcerer Nerf....

When we see the videos of it being done, then we can comment. What we have here is 67 pages of people commenting on a picture when they have no idea how it was created. It really is stupid.
  23. I don't know about the trojans.... But to the other point, if you don't play a Sorcerer, and you read on these forums about how overpowered they are, maybe you would like to watch and see for yourself what the PvP is actually like for a Sorcerer. That might be a reason for you to watch.
  24. The problem with this answer is that Sorcerer was the MOST played class from Day 1. The reason that Republic don't have as many, and we still don't, is simply because there is no "Sage" class in the Movies. Oh you can pick things up and throw them, Project, but really how entertaining is that. Now shooting lightening from your hands, ala the Emperor.....that is a true reflection of the movies and it is unsurprising that a game trading on the name of a Movie finds that the class most favoured is the one that is most like the class in the movies. Amazing, I would never have guessed myself, I thought everyone would have rolled a Sniper like you know that guy in the movie, the one played by the really famous actor, you know....oh wait, you don't because there is no such character.
  25. If you bothered to look you would easily find the answer. Sorc/Sage have NEVER burned down a player in 3 hits, they have NEVER managed to kill a player while the CC was active and before the player could react. It really isn't that hard, one must wonder why it was beyond you to see that.
