  1. If they can't provide raid content, then they might as well give the rights for a SW game to someone that can provide content to every aspect of the playerbase.

    The hatred

I'd advise you to try out others games with ranked opportunity (LoL for example). Then you shall see that it is the nature of pvp/competitive pvp, that people will get mad and call you out if their time/effort is wasted by someone in an environment where one should only come when they are competent. Then again, I guess its also the nature of games that people say 'this is the most toxic, salty community, hurt my feelings...
  3. I read what you posted. What you need to consider is that your situation isn't the only one where people get kicked and as such solutions based on that specific situation will result in problems in other situations. Then again, time restraints, supervising and whatnot probably won't happen, you might as well just get used to people like that, put them on ignore and continue with your stuff.
  4. Apologies in advance if this is going off topic. As a Sentinel main, I always have mixed feeling for Force Camo. It is designed to be both a dcd and aggro drop(or reduction) with a cleanse if utility is taken. My problem with it is the following: in PVE, there is a big hit incoming. Camo has a 45 sec cd and offers nice dr. But, if I flush my aggro on cd like a smart dps, then I can't use it. If I use it, I can't lessen my aggro. Not to mention that if I want to use for the dr, it has to be timed so perfectly that it doesn't get wasted by my attack disabling it. Or maybe my concerns are just a l2p issue?
  5. Something to keep in mind is that there are certain situations where kicking a player from the group is justified. They go afk for more than 10mins without saying 'afk brb in xyz time', disconnect for same amount of time without coming back, they cause a wipe and don't react to advice(don't speak English/French/German/whatever language), they are only troling, etc... Adding to this, many don't have time to wait for others to come back/get their act together because they have limited time to play, or they don't want to spend another 10k+ on repairs when their is no progress. And there are more reason that I could write, but lets just stick with these for now(don't wanna make a super long post.). A system that penalises kicking is no better/worse than the system that doesn't. A system that can distinguish between justified and unjust kick does not exist. In my opinion, kicking should be evaluated by us players and not a system.
  6. Basically what nyrkverse just said. If I had to add anything, it would be that you should watch some videos on Youtube. There are full run/boss specific ones with different classes & specs so if you watch a couple of them with reading the guide on Dulfy, you should be fine. Unless I'm mistaken, most pug groups struggle with ToS either because of mechanics or just not playing their class/role well, but as long as you can identify the problem and solve it it shouldn't be a matter. It's a fun opreation to do, so good luck & have fun!
  7. OP, you should look after stuff before making a thread about it - your statements are inaccurate, false and a pain to read. But, since you know nothing about Jaesa' dps, I'll leave this here. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=677289 Someone that actually spent time on researching compaion stats and performance. Reading it you come across this: As you can see, comps using 2 weapons are the strongest, best comp is Shae Vizla. '1 big hit unbalances PVE' - so arsenal, mm, rage, fury, ap... unbalances PVE (only the solo aspect) 'cause they hit hard... yeah, unbalances maybe fights that last less than 30 sec. So your comp kills a trash mob faster than you, so its unbalanced... disregard the fact that anything with more hp won't be killed by a comp alone in reasonable time. But, since the reason behind your thread is mercs (again...), I'll say this. They getting nerfed is not how you see it. They won't become unfit for your solo player questing. They won't die easily. They won't take a decade to kill a target. The upcoming dps nerf wasn't asked by the pvp community (so please refrain from bashing them unjustly). You seem to have a bad habit of coming to strange, unrealistic conclusions based on I don't what kind of source. If your struggling with something, read a guide, watch a video, ask a veteran player or group up with someone of the same class and watch how they do it and ask if you don't understand something. For someone that says they don't like drama queens, you do sound like one.
  8. Marauders/Sentinels are viable for all contents of the game, be it solo(chapters, SF, EC), pve(fp, ops) or pvp. For advice, share us what content are you trying to do - flashpoints or chapters or whatever -, and give details like 'I use X skill after Y, followed by Z' and 'when XX uses YY I pop ZZ'. If you can record it and upload the video here, that would help greatly. Using tank mods on a dps spec is a bad idea. Tank mods and dps spec won't last you longer than dps mods.
  9. Finally getting a new operation, nice. Wether it will work out fine or not remains to be seen... but remembering what the devs have done so far, think I'll will remain skeptic for the time being.
  10. It's cool you liked it. Here's a tip: consider naming the thread 'KOTET story is a monumental success !!' Since KoteT is the expansion, and an expansion consist more than the story.
  11. I had many unpleasent experience with some of the weirdest people I've met through gf & ops. While none of them managed to make me uninstall the game or anything like that, I did almost leave groups a great couple of times - with the reason being... 1. People don't speak/understand English (quite annoying on an English server) - no reactions to anything written in chat isn't good if you don't have a clue about the fight mechanics 2. People understand English but can't seem to act upon them - so they write 'ok' 'understood' 'got it' but still continue to make the same mistake many times in a row without any sing of improvement 3. People not having the skill - dps using basic attacks, healers not being to keep up the group, tanks not using their dcds well or 0 threat generation 4. Role confusion - tank without tank gear, stats, skill and clue about tanking, same with healers 5. Stat confusion - althouhg others have proven that some of the content that people have a hard time with (BH HM, ToS, Ravs) can be undermaned or just done with 0 gear, varage people still need the stats from gear to do their stuff - alacrity tanks, absorb healers, shield dps with different class set bonus sure won't amount much 6. Group lag/technical difficulties - very rare and highly questionable if possible, but when everyone but you is complaining about their pc, internet, lag etc.. after wiping a ton of times, not much to do 7. Only doing it through exploits - makes doing anything worthless 8. Trolls, hackers, wintraders - not a pve thing, but certainly a bad experince in ranked pvp Worst is a combination of 2 or more of the above reasons mentioned with every group in a row for a long time. Times like that, I just wait for it to end, log out and watch some movies to make me forget how hard life is and that the majority of the players aren't like the poor souls that I end up with in a hm fp/ops.
  12. As a solo player, I find this interesting. Ever since I started playing this game, I never joined a guild and never had BiS gear. And yet, I have done all hard mode flashpoints more than ten times without being carried. I also completed Legendary tier without major issues. So am I an elitist raider who is among the best dps on the server, if not in the world? Just because you and many players have bad luck with gf, doesn't mean that the difficulity level in the game is higher than it should be. You don't have to be in a raiding guild with TS, best players on the server, BiS gear just to complete a hm flashpoint. Hard mode flashpoints aren't meant for 'elitists' or hardcore raiders. It is meant for any player that has the general idea about gearing, their spec, the fights etc and have fun doing hard content. Adding it to DvL wasn't a good idea imo,but thats just my personal take on the matter. If someone has a problem doing something, either reexamine the way they are doing it or just don't do it. I wouldn't mind having some of items that drop from Nim ops, but since I am incapable to produce top of the line dps , I don't ask for it to be removed, nerfed or made into solo just to get them. Asking for a nerf just to have something or because you can't do it is meaningless - it is hard mode, it is meant to be hard and not doable by people who lack the means to do it. Just be content with what you have and can get and let others have what they can get.
  13. Korriban HM Group composition: jugg tank, jugg dps(?), op healer and merc dps(myself) Up until the 2nd boss, it was okayish, add control was meh, healer was having difficulities with keeping up the healing and the other dps was always leaping at adds firstl, like every mdps with a leap and 1 brain cell. 1st boss and bonus was killed almost neatly, but I knew that whether we clear the run or not depends on the 2nd boss, R-9XR. There, almost everything that can be done wrong was done wrong. Tank starts the fight, jugg dps taunts (which he keeps doing on cd). They and the healer keep stacking up so that Laser Burst would hit all three of them. Nuking adds was solely on me, healer didn't bother using Countermeasures on cd or running/rolling from them. Then they wait a full 5 second before moving out of the droid's PBAoE, walking right into the yellow & red circles. Somehow, noone died before the time for Extermination Mode has come, with the droid at 45% HP. We wiped, I realized I should've checked the other dps's stuff. Tank gear, no form, his buffs are neither from Rage or Vengeance, but from Immortal. No achievements from anything group related, and he didn't say one word from the start of the FP. The healer also wasn't much of an asset. He was a member of a certain guild, from which I have yet to meet a decent player who understands & speaks English (which is also indicated by the guild's name, full of grammatical mistakes). I pointed out that, in contrast of the healer's viewpoint that we die because the adds kill him (which never happenned), and the tank's opinion that healing is low (noone can heal through Extermination Mode) that the lack of dps is the root of our problem. They notice the jugg dps's state and decide for one last time. Same scenario, we wipe with droid at 13%. Jugg dps leaves without a word (who would have thought?), healer leaves, but before saying he doesnt understand why he was hit by the boss (Acquiring Target + Laser Burst). Tank also left, and for the first time in years I put two players on my ignore list, which has only been a place for bots. Tl;dr: Korriban HM wipe on 2nd boss due to dps with tank gear and discipline, is more tiring with a healer that can't use English but tries to pin the blame on the dps/tank add control.
  14. Same issue with group content - if it stops, then it stops being an MMO.
  15. Hey all, I have been reading this thread for quite a time and thought I should contribute as well, here is my recent weird run. 2 days ago, as I was considering heading to bed, there was a person looking for a healer for Ravagers gf run. I decided to join, to end the day with a hopefully fun run. After whispering the person, no answer for 6 mins, then she replied with telling me to join through gf. Doing so, it poped quickly and I zoned in. After arriving, a 10 minute awkward, needlessly long chain of conversiations took place. They didn’t know about how groupfinder reacts to loot system & ops leader position, so I had enough time to grab some snacks and coffee before they got ready. Group composition: 2 darkness assassin(T), medicine operative(me) and corruption sorc(H), 2 carnage marauder, marksman sniper and vengeance juggernaut. My gear was full 216 with augments, only missing unlettered mods and set bonus armorings. Group members had appropiate gear, stims, stance/form/cell etc. Only later did I check that none of them had 2 digit operation achievements and had no clue whatsoever about operations in general and Ravagers mechanics. Clearing the way to Bulo had a high fatality rate. Tanks didn’t have aggro, dps focused on one single add, which they took a lifetime to kill, while I was ’tanking’ the other adds Most memorable mob encounter: other healer and one of the dps fell off the bridge, into the crabs while the group was engaging another group. Arriving at Bulo, ops leader presented one of the ’best’ strategy I’ve yet to see: everyone attack Bulo from front, never, ever move from that spot. Before I could voice my opinion, they started the fight. We wiped shortly after Drunken Pirates arrived, noone doing barrel run, staying in the middle of Volley. Going back, I ask who is here for the first ime, who knows tactics, who is unsecure about parts of the encounter. Leader says she knows it well, linking a 16m achievement into chat. Juggernaut says he done it 50+ times on TRE, others stay quiet. While telling them how its bad to eat the cleave as a group, and asking tanks to put guard on 2 of the dps, using taunts, how Assassin tanking works etc., leader speaks up. She will do barrel, if the pirates aren’t dead, dps ignore boss and kill pirates. Again, they start before I can say a thing. Same situation again, with slight improvement: group eats cleave, tanks can’t keep aggro, leader does the first barrel run, 2nd & 3rd wave, she still killing the adds from the first spawn while the other 2 group of Drunken Pirates shoot me full of holes. At least the group managed to avoid Volley & Mass Barrage I guess. It was funny though, when the Juggernaut had enough of Scatter Blaster and moved to the other side of Bulo. Which didn’t change a thing, since he had top aggro. We wipe with Bulo at 89% hp. So its time to put the blame on someone – me. The following conversiation took place: Sorc: Why we die? Juggernaut: Heals are weak. Especially scoundrel. (Mind you, I’m an Operative. Always found it stupid when people call an AC on the name of its mirror AC.) Me: Please elaborate on which part of my healing is unsatisfactiory for you. J: I have to use medpac and all me dcd on sm because your ****. (Yep, 50+ Ravagers run and still, you stand in stupid.) M: How about… avoiding avoidable damage? Not standing in front of Bulo in stacks? Not sitting inthe middle of the circle? Leader: Adds killed me. M: Me too. Thus the lack of healing from me at the last minute. Sniper: Lol, you died from ADDS? your really ****, l2p noob. Since it was pretty clear they didn’t know their roles, the mechanics and weren’t open for advice, I thanked the ’experience’ and left. Someone whispered me to prepare for public shaming on fleet gen chat, I couldn’t care less. Moral of the story: When in doubt, blame the healer. Healer can’t heal 50k/s, what a noob.
