  1. So, finally jumped back in to my first love, the Commando. First time since 5.3 and I think I am done. The DPS changes are not the main thing bothering me, it's the energy management. I am simply incapable of it. What is worse, this all stems from PVP complaining which is something I never cared for and would not miss it if it were removed completely from the game!! So, thank you, Bioware. I was an avid supporter of this game and even tried to look at the positive side of the ones I didn't like. However, you have taken a class which was amazingly fun and turned it into a chore. I play game to relax and have fun and you have killed that.
  2. I cannot stand PVP. Haven't ever cared for it.
  3. No, I'm not talking about race or gender..... I'm talking about builds. Really getting tired of having to play the same, cookie cutter, template for every class in order to progress through the end game content. In order to prevent the boss enraging, a group must put out a certain amount of DPS, which is perfectly fine. However, it seems the only way to reach that DPS threshold, is for each class to be played a very specific way. For example, if I'm playing a gunnery commando, I'm going to have to have certain gear and follow a certain rotation and have just the right mods, etc, etc, etc......In the end, every Gunnery Commando out there is running the same build and it only comes down to who doesn't "stand in stupid" or who can mash buttons in the right order the fastest. There is no diversity for play styles, regardless of class. Each class, regardless of whether it is a Guardian Tank or a Scoundrel Healer, will most likely have the SAME rotation and the SAME gear set up, and the SAME combat skills chosen. I would love to see a system implemented that would allow for some customization of play style and character builds. If that is something as simple as increasing a rage timer or as complex as putting in a "passive skill point" system that allows you to tweak your character, it would, at least, be a start. Anyway, time to go back to my Lightning Sorc....you know, the identical one that you have......
  4. Fixed it. Somehow, my driver got screwed up. Had to reinstall video drivers and that seemed to fix it.
  5. OK, I was playing SWTOR earlier with no problems what so ever.... Just tried to log in and got the following message; "This program encountered an internal error and will exit. Error code: C7 Incompatible system. Please verify your system is compatible with this game." What....the....*&^%*&^*&^?!?!?!?!
  6. Strange.....I did a Google search for "charity" and neither Bioware nor Electronic Arts came up!!!....Weird!!!!
  7. I like the idea. At least, in theory. To have "one of a kind" armor sets would require a LOT of resources so I'm not sure how feasible this would actually be. However, the idea DOES have merit. If there was some kind of appearance mod station that would allow for altering all the color of the armor set, this would allow for a "one of a kind" color scheme without requiring too many additional resources. For example, instead of sticking up with dye modules we don't like the color combination of, we could alter the specific color of the specific pieces as we see fit. Of course, it would cost cartel coin to make up for the dye mods, but I would pay to be able to dye specific parts of armor instead of a blanket color from a mod!!!
  8. Clearly all the people still complaining and leaving clearly missed the notice it's changing as of Jan 24. Gonna be a way to get specific gear. I would suggest giving it a chance.
  9. Outside of the normal "new Ops" thing, I've been thinking about this. There are a few things I would love to see added to SWTOR in 2017. I know this is mostly wishful thinking on my part, but aside from "new Ops", "new PvP", and deletion of RnG in gearing, I was wondering what others out there think would be good features added to SWTOR that have never been in the game.... For me, I would love to see the following.... 1. Manaan Stronghold 2. PvE Galactic Starfighter 3. A way to exclude things already in my collections when searching GTN. 4. Ops version of GSF which would include Capitol Ships. 5. Planet side Air to Ground PvP. 6. More specific control over decorating in strongholds. 7. Legacy wide bank for credits. 8. Craftable decorations which would be class specific. 9. Appearance slot for weapons and off hands. 10. Moddable relics, implants, and ear pieces. 11. More slot machines released which would award rep tokens for ALL reputation lines. I will more than likely think of more but that's all that comes to mind right now. :-) What are some things you guys and gals think would be great additions?
  10. I started a toon just for armor and gear storage. I send all of it there and try to complete all the sets. Then, create outfits for my toons and xfer it. Once outfit is in the designer for a given toon, I send it back for storage.
  11. Oops...was totally not thinking.....redacted
  12. Loving the Uprisings. Nice to have a way to grind GCXP without having to devote an hour or more to an Operation. Even some of the FPs seem to go on forever... As far as 4 DPS having a hard time, I think that is intended. Balanced group should be a tank, a healer and 2 DPS. Don't think it was meant for all of 1 character type to complete...
  13. Since I was not a part of Beta, I have no point of reference. But keep in mind, there is a difference between "listening and taking into consideration" over mindlessly doing what you're told. Just because they may not implement a precise change exactly when the community says they should, doesn't mean it doesn't get implemented over time.
  14. Galactic Command sucks!!! I mean, I would MUCH rather gear out my toon in max level gear in 2 weeks then NOT be rewarded in anyway for playing end game content!! Who doesn't want to endlessly grind on a main toon, spend credits to rip out mods and move to alts so THEY get geared without actually being played?!?! After all, who needs to learn to play a class when I can simply overgear and get carried by guildies that know how to play?!?!? This Galactic Command system requires me to continue playing and gives me something to work for which is garbage!! I would much rather gear up quickly then spend countless hours posting on the forums, chatting in fleet and Reddit that there's nothing to do!! After all, without Galactic Command, I wouldn't have anything to threaten to cancel my subscription over!!!! I've been posting since RotHC that this game is dying and I'm canceling my subscription!!! What about traditions?!?!?!?!!? ***For those readers who didn't catch it, this is sarcasm. If you hate the game changes that much, find constructive ways to voice your criticism. Ranting on a forum and verbally abusing the Devs in any way is not likely to bring a sympathetic ear. Voice your displeasure and criticism in a better way and it might be listened to in the end. After all, when people are insulted, they tend to stop listening. Not saying you can't be outraged or upset. Just saying, treating the Devs like they are beneath you then being surprised about them not listening seems to me like "cause and effect". Besides, ranting and raving on the Forums and berating the Devs comes across more to me like a temper tantrum of a petulant child than anything else. By all means, voice your displeasure at ANY game changes you feel strongly against, just do it like a grown up and they MIGHT actually listen.
  15. Have to say, I am excited for the 5.0 gearing changes. As someone who is fairly new to running Ops on a fairly regular basis, these changes couldn't be better. (I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but I could type that "water is wet" and there would be 15 responses on why I'm wrong. Also, I know I could have put this in one of the many other threads on the subject but it would most likely be buried under the other comments) First, I've read post after post of people angry over the crates stating RNG sucks and they may not get what they need from the crates. This really isn't too far from how it is now. Before you call me crazy, I'll explain. Imagine if you have your set bonus but you need relics and the main hand. As it stands now, you go into the Op, fight the boss, the click need in the loot window. Basically, you're using a randomly generated number to determine if you get the main hand or not. Only difference, if anyone else in the OP "needs" on it, you might not get it. You could spend hours banging your head against a wall in "wipe after wipe" trying to complete an operation and walk away with nothing. I know because it has happened to me time after time. I once ran 3 OPs in a row and got NO set pieces of any kind. RNG is already a big part of the gearing equation. Only difference is, you may not get anything at all with the current model. In the new model, I will at least get something for my trouble. Second, the new model allows me to gear toons I may not necessarily be good enough to run in a story-mode operation, let alone a hard mode. I love playing my gunnery commando but my DPS is lacking. No matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to do enough DPS. This has caused me to be kicked from OPs groups. So, no OPs group, no 216 gear, let alone 220 or 224. The new model will allow me to play that toon in other modes I enjoy yet still get the gear I am lacking and, who knows? Maybe with that better gear i MAY be able to hit better DPS numbers and run an OP with him instead of my tank! Third, as a crafter, I will be able to get a steady flow of gear to attempt to RE. I've always felt bad "needing" on something I didn't actually plan on using. I felt like I was stealing from other players. Now, if I get something I can't use, I can RE and try to learn a schematic for implants or relics without having to worry of taking gear from a guildmate or having to run an OP over and over again hoping the relic I want to RE drops AND no one else needs on it!! Same with mainhand barrels, etc.... Fourth, I can gear up alts without worry. If I get something I can't use on my Guardian, I can simply pull out the mods/set pieces and give them to my Jugg. I can finally work towards multiple sets of gear without forcing guildies to re-run ops or, again, having to loot something someone else may need. I know it is simple to put mods in Legacy gear and move it around, but it would be far more convenient to have the toons geared separately so I don't have to worry about it. I can just log on and play as needed. No more OPs groups having to wait while gear is switched over! Fifth, it feels like I will be rewarded for playing the game as I usually do. For example, I love to run heroics for the cash. Guildies and I group up and blast through planet after planet of heroics on a fairly regular basis. With the addition of Galactic Command, I will be working towards command crates at the same time allowing me to gear my toons faster. It's something I'm doing anyway and the CXP is definitely going to feel like a bonus reward to me! Sixth, gearing on my time and my way. I suffer from health issues which can make it necessary to AFK very suddenly. If I get a flare up in an OP and I'm not with a group of understanding OPS members, I can, and have, been booted from the group. Booted from the group means a lockout and having to try and find another OPs run, let alone one that wants to deal with a lockout. With the new gearing changes, I'm far less concerned about my flare ups. If I happen to get booted from an OPs, I can STILL get CXP from other game modes so I can ALWAYS work towards my next piece of gear. I could go on, but I think you get my point. This new change is actually pretty awesome to me. I finally have a guaranteed shot at the gear I'm looking for without having to worry about PUGs "needing" on everything or feel like I'm stealing loot for an alt if I roll on something I don't plan on using for the toon I'm on. Just my 2 cents worth, anyway.
  16. Nope. Same problem here. Launcher is slow to respond as well.
  17. Yeah, saw the other posts, however none of them mentioned (at least that I saw) having trouble with the launcher as well. Figured I would ask as, to me at least, it would appear the problem is getting worse.
  18. Was playing on Jedi Covenant this morning and got booted big time. Tried to shut down and log back in but no response from the launcher. Anyone else having this issue?
  19. Insults? Really? Nice to know there is such well thought out arguments. As my original post said, this is my point of view. Agree or disagree, that's fine. I just try not to be a negative person. I also keep in mind they don't have to DO anything besides supply the game. Not going to get upset because something given for free is not exactly what I wanted. It's simply a game to me and I treat it as such.
  20. So, I've been reading the threads about the DvL event and I think people are missing the point. Most everyone is saying the devs simply want us to replay old content. That's only partly true. The main goal of the event is to determine which new companion we get, the Dark Side Sith, or the Light Side Jedi. To do that, they are totaling up the light and dark choices made in a certain window of time. The catch is, and the main point of contention, is that you must start a new character. Achievements and choices are NOT retroactive. While I understand this may seem like a slap to veteran players, I have been thinking there really is no fair way to do it unless it is on a new character. Before I explain, please keep in mind the main purpose is to determine which companion will be awarded. If they made it retroactive, new players or short time players would be at a great disadvantage. Their input into the event would be a drop in the bucket compared to that of a veteran player with a server full of max level toons!! Also, veteran players would have no real say in the matter as their choices were made long ago based on their character with no thought to any possible rewards!! By having it count only on new toons, everyone is on equal footing. Every new character is contributing to the ultimate goal of determining the new companion. As for the veterans, that is where the tiered rewards come in. They know you've done it all before, but you did it for free with nothing to show for it besides a new toon. Now, they are asking you to vote by playing what you've done before, but this time there are titles, pets, mounts, and armor along the way!! From my point of view, I think it's a great way to make the vote something of a competition instead of a hand out!! Just my 2 cents anyway.
  21. I have read a lot of comments about SWTOR and the Live Stream today. To coin phrase, get a life, will you people? Everyone is complaining about the rewards announced today. I will admit, there was nothing there worthy of the hype. However, keep in mind they do NOT have to give anything. No one has "a right" to anything in this game and all the whining and complaining about "no new ops" or "story, story, story" is going to change it. Bioware is a business and their bottom line is to make money. Period. They will run things as they see fit. If you like it, great! Subscribe and help pay for the game and keep it going because at the end of the day, if the game doesn't make money, it goes away. That being said, if you don't like the game, do yourselves and all your fellow gamers a favor and leave. The constant threats of "I'm cancelling my sub" is getting old and makes you sound like a whiny brat crying you didn't get your participation trophy or that jilted Ex that is too obsessive and dense to know it's over. At any rate, Bioware owes you nothing. No one is forcing you to play SWTOR and nothing was promised to you. I'm sick of people posting on the forums that Bioware owes them everything and should give it out for free.
  22. What, precisely was "offensive" about my post. I simply said I don't agree with it because I do not, nor have I ever, cared for PVP in any game. There are A LOT of players who feel the same way as I do. If you doubt me, look at the population of any of the PVP servers compared to that of the PVE servers. If PVP were indeed, as popular as claimed, then the reverse on server population should be true to some extent, correct? FYI, simply because someone disagrees on a particular point, does not mean they are offended in anyway. :-) It IS possibly to simply disagree and not be "offended".
  23. No thanks. The majority of players I have talked to in game do not PVP. PVP has absolutely NO interest for me. If you like it, great!! Have a blast. However, if this game had been a PVP game to start, I would never have started playing it. My advice would be, if you want PVP, wait for Battlefront since that is basically PVP only....
