  1. Of all three classes I have, Sith Assassin, Mercenary and Operative, the Operative is the most difficult to play, but does have the highest burst damage.

However as an Operative I will never top the damage chart, healing chart or medal chart. I am however very effective in taking key enemies down, ball carriers and bomb planters for instance.

If you want to top the charts, roll a Mercenary and spam rockets and death from above. Gets boring pretty fast tough.

  2. Operative is perfect for burst damage, it is by far the best class for this purpose. Kineteic damage doesnt get reduced by shields (intended) so especially inquisitors are vulnerable to us.

The disadvantage comes from the fact we lack a shield ourselves so were pretty vulnerable to lightsaber and blasters. Additionally we lack gap closers, defensive abilities and our sustained dps is not very good; we run out of energy really easy.

The sith assassin is best compared to a combat rogue in WoW.

The operative is best compared to an assassination rogue in WoW.

If you're mostly interested in PVE, the Operative is not a very good choice.

For PVP it is, but very dependant on your playstyle.

  3. I find dealing with strong mobs relatively easy.

Until level 20 mobs don't hit too hard to be difficult and from level 20 I use sleeping dart, first kill the add(s) and then burst the strong mob down. I can always use either flashbang grenade and or debilitate to control / stun the mob when needed.

You'll also get Laceration if you spec concealment, combined with shiv and backstab these are 3 very high damaging abilities.

When fighting multiple mobs watch your energy though, cause once your low on energy it takes a very long time to regen. Stim boost is perfect to prevent this.

Don't bother going ranged from level 20, cause it doesn't nearly do as much damage, you don't get tactical advantage from shiv and you'll run out of energy all the time.

  4. Star Wars Galaxies was pretty strong with rewardless world PVP as well.

The only thing you would get is faction rating, for which you could get titles, or eventually spend them on faction goodies, like an ATST or stormtrooper armor. None of which were actually useful, but mostly for looks.

Player cities, especially on Lok would often be the stage of massive battles and city mayors could also place bases in their cities which would inevitably draw out members of the opposing faction to destroy them.

The reason people did (world) PVP in SWG was because of the thrill of the hunt, doing something with your mates.

There were no gief epix plx battlegrounds, where the objectives are all that matters and killing the opposing faction is a waste of time.

  5. On my Sin I have significantly more health, wear a shield, have an Oh Snap 50% defense ability, knockback, force speed and my stun is ranged. My burst dmg is lower than an operative, but my sustained dps is higher. Both classes are fairly equal because of stealth, but their utility varies greatly.

When I want to do group PVP my assassin is much better, but when I feel like taking out people 1 v 1, the operative is better.

  6. Nobody will argue that most players have rolled a Sith Inquisitor. After having played 60 battlegrounds, divided over 3 characters, it's clear that the Inquisitor is also the most popular class in PVP, probably but not necessary a result of the amount of people that rolled said class.

Therefore it's logical that the whining on these forums is focused towards the Nemesis of the Sith Inquisitor, by chance also the least played class in TOR: Imp Agent. They simply can't stand getting beat by a class they don't know and hardly encounter.

Doing several /who in-game reveals that Imperial Agent is by far the least played class of all, and from my own experience it's also one of the hardest classes to play, bounty hunter being the easiest.

I have a level 50 Sith Assassin with decent PVP gear. It's not a rogue, we don't have the burst and CC abilities of the Operative, but we have more HP, more shielding, more Oh Snap abilities and very high sustained dps. In other words if you run around trying to solo people, you will get owned. You have to realize you need to stay close to the pack and help dps targets down fast.

The Operative is a very good solo class. It has high burst and very good CC, but lacks in armor, doesn't have shields and lacks sustained dps. It's fairly weak in group PVP, you're easily caught by aoe damage or burst down cause of the low HP. Additionally the Operative doesn't have any pulls, knockbacks or gapclosers and our best damage means being in melee range so we're easily kited.

So far in my experience since the beta, the single ability that needs looked at is the shield from Sorcerers (static barrier). That's it, everything else is well designed, works fine and is intended.

  7. Meh i agree with the OP. My main is a SI Sorc and while i love my main its just not that viable in PVP ATM. the Smuggler classes always 2 shoot me. i get knocked down and i never get up. its very disapointing but i just dont have fun PVPing with that toon ATM. I have re-rolled a BH and will mess with that class for a bit.

I dont like classes getting nerfed however, it messes with PVE but being 2 shot every time with champ gear on /sigh.

Sorc not viable in PVP? Did you play your character without armor and talents?

  8. I recently started an Imperial Agent and was planning to make it a lightside character, cause my first character, a level 50 Sith Assassin is already fully darkside.

However I found the darkside options to suit the Imperial Agent much better and decided to go darkside as well.

I'll make by Bounty Hunter alt a lightside character, primarily to keep Mako happy.

  9. Below are the most important parts of my PC which I designed and built myself in february 2011. The prices mentioned are the prices for which I bought my hardware at that time. The total cost of the PC, including a case and after market coolers, but without a monitor, keyboard and mouse, was just below 1000 euros.

    MSI P67S-C43 (Intel® P67 Express)

    € 98,90

    OCZ ModXStream Pro 600Watt

    € 66,90

    Intel Core i5-2500K

    € 202,98

    MSI N480GTX Twin Frozr II

    € 299,00

Kingston HyperX Genesis 4 GB DDR3-1600 Kit

    € 51,90

    OCZ SSD3-2VTX120G (120 GB)

    € 192,90

SWTOR and Skyrim both run totally smooth and completely flawless on the maximum settings I can select in the graphics options.

  10. For the third week in a row most people from the Bloodworthy EU PVP server are unable to join warzones. For some reason it kicks is straight to the character selection screen.

I'm not sure if this goes for other servers as well, but it certainly does for ours.

There doesn't seem to be a structural reason or cause behind this. I sincerely hope BW is going to fix this issue soon, as people on our server are starting to get bored with this.

  11. Ya, because you say so troll? Just doesn't take a genius to figure out they always get top dmg and kills in every pvp match. Go troll elsewhere. I must suck eventhough you don't know my toon, or played againt me.... Hmmm mmmm your absolutly right, what was I thinking by posting this thread.

Bounty Hunters and Inquisitors do... (both AC's)

  12. Any here level 50 yet and tried out the space missions in the space near Ilum?

I have a fully upgraded rank 5 ship (cost me about 150k estimated), however I cannot finish any of the 3 missions. I keep getting destroyed well before the end. Saving blaster fire and using more missiles and excessive doding and rolling don't matter that much either.

Up to level 40 all missions were extremely easy and now they are virtually impossible...
