  1. Seriously, ***? 2 Imperial Agents, neither could complete Chapter X. Now I have to replay Chapter X?? That's the best you can do after waiting all this time for you to fix it? I'm not usually one to gripe - but seriously, guys...come on...
  2. If I may try to answer the OP questions, and do so in a friendly conversational way.... My issue is this. I'm probably slightly more than the "casual" player - but I'm not an OPS guy (at least not yet). I've leveled 9 toons to 65, and have been trying to figure out exactly how best to proceed now that I'm done with the chapters (so far released) on all 9. From chatting with some people, it seems that my best bet is to get the SF H2s unlocked, and start working on them. Ok, cool. But to unlock them, I need to farm crates. 6 planets x 5 crates = 30 crates per toon. Which means 30 weekly H2s to run to get crates. Just for one toon. But wait - after I had the chance to run a couple today that I had some crates on hand for, I find out that to use some of the "goodies" I have to get my influence with the 4 alliance specialists to 10. Based on the crates I had on hand, that takes in the neighborhood of 20 crates per specialist. So just to unlock and run entry-level end game 2-mans, that's about 110 crates I have to farm. That's 110 H2 weeklies. Just for one toon. x9 toons = 990 crates I have to farm. Now this wouldn't have been too bad, even with the level sync. Yes, companions were OP, and I walked through most H2s. Even I would say the companions could stand a bit of a nerf. But still - let me have a challenging time but still get through them solo, given the grind. What I really see as the problem is that BW kinda screwed up the "social" side of the game from the start. You never had to run heroics, didn't really have to do FPs. No need to run the content, and most of the time people didn't. Or they did like I did - wait until they were high enough level, then go back and run them just to collect some gear or farm comms. And I get they want to change that. But they have to ease the community into it - that has never really been the game's "culture" - and you can't change that all at once. But it's too much for someone who doesn't have a lot of time to play on a regular basis. Too much grind, especially when you throw in time spent waiting to find a group, waiting to for the other person to show up, etc. I'm not even really against the companion nerf - but it has to be offset. Sharply increase the value of the crates or something, so there isn't that much of a grind just to play entry-level end game that doesn't even really reward you with anything. Long story short - yes, I love a challenge. But if it becomes a job, instead of a game, then why do I want to be on it, let alone pay for it?
  3. Unfortunately, with 9 characters having to run about 130 weekly H2s each...there's no way I'm going to sit around and wait for groups to grind all that just to do SF H2s that don't really give you anything. Heck, I'm not going to do it even if they did give you something. So I guess my name can be added to the "if they don't fix it I'll unsub" list. It makes me sad - I had a great time leveling, I've enjoyed everything else, I've even done ok with dealing with the myriad of other glitches, bugs, and problems. But I just don't have the free time to sit around hoping to find groups just to unlock entry level end game content.
  4. Here's the thing - and this is just my opinion, not going to go on a rampage or anything... BW has screwed up the "social" aspect of this game from the start. It was too easy, socially. No need to ever group up except for ops, and the occasional FP. I leveled 9 toons to 65 while doing very few heroics (at least at the appropriate level) and very few FPs. And ok, I get they want this to change. A little late in the game now, but whatever. But you want to do it at the same time that you inrtoduce new story arcs that require us to do a whole crapload of H2s to unlock stuff? That was fine at first - but with the excessive nerf of companions, now it's just crazy. You need what - close to 20 crates per specialist to get to a 10 influence with them to unlock the stuff that helps in the SF heroics. So that's 80 crates. Then you need 5 crates per planet to unlock the Heroics for the SFs. so we're looking in the neighborhood of 110 H2s, per character, and now you pretty much have to group up to do that - something that is just not a part of this game's culture. So yeah, it's a shocker. And I'm not at all saying I want to just walk through these heroics and farm them, I don't might it being a challenge - but this is a bit of overkill...
  5. Not on the insider program, so no joy there. Still in build 10240. Just as a follow-up to previous posts - uninstalled and reinstalled SWTOR. Also blew the dust out all my heat sinks and etc. No joy. And SWTOR is the only thing I'm having problems with. Still the same thing, crashes after a few minutes in the game. Also clariffied - doesn't matter what I'm doing. For one attempt I logged in and just let my toon sit in one spot. Still crashed. Event viewer isn't showing me anything signifigant. No hardware crashes or errors, no driver crashes. This just makes no sense at all.
  6. You know, I just noticed something... This seems to be happening when I reach a spot where new loading has to take place. For instance: this latest crash was when I hit the "waypoint" where I had to make the decision between shutting down the reactor or ignoring it (yes, in the new story line, can't remember exactly where) The crash before that was just as I stepped onto that glass elevator that takes you down to the droid factory floor. A crash of 3 before that was just after I killed the big walker then went to the cutscene running across the bridge.. (*Edit: On Zakuul, in Chapter 3)
  7. No luck there. I haven't had any issues with it ether, until after reinstalling everything. Haven't tried compatibility compatibility mode. Will do so
  8. Running it off an installed SSD. Shouldn't be power issues there, it's the same drive as my OS
  9. Honestly, I think it is more something that is happening software-wise. As I mentioned, everything was fine and stable yesterday, it was only after a new install of Windows (and obviously, new install of SWTOR) that this is suddenly happening. Also, I don't note it happening elsewhere, even in other games.
  10. Hi all, First off, why is there no forum for tech support??? Ok, here's the story - went to Windows 10 when it released. I've had ongoing problems with the AMD drivers for my video card fighting with WIndows 10. Yesterday, it finally trashed my windows. Oh yay, new install. So on a fresh install of Windows 10. Ram the AMD clean utility, pulled all drivers out, did a fresh install of the current stable drivers. Used the "troubleshooter" from Microsoft to not update the video drivers. Nice. So now everything seems to be up and running. Except when I run SWTOR, it suddenly just shuts down / CTD after about 5 minutes of playing. Doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing in game - in combat, just standing around, whatever - one second I'm there, the next I'm staring at my desktop. No warnings, no error messages, nothing. This happened both before and after cleaning the graphics drivers, so not sure if it is related. Any thoughts? Any logs I can check? Anything? Before the reinstall SWTOR ran fine, and I'm using the same graphics settings as I was before.
  11. There is one advantage I can see to this....storage space. Instead of having several stacks of mat A and several stacks of mat B in storage, I use my "resting" companions to craft component C out of A and B, and just have one big stack of C... At this point I have reduced an entire tab of stored up mats in my legacy bank into about 8 slots. Not sure it's worth the trade-off in and of itself though.
  12. I was actually just wondering the same. I note from the pre-expansion discussion on crafting changes that instead of a random item drop, you get an improved version. Which is fine if there's actually a chance of learning how to make what you RE'd. Suggestion: If an item is not learnable, then either allow me to RE for mats, or don't allow me to RE at all.
  13. However, complaining about complaining about complaining is totally effective
