  1. I am gonna say that games are often unable to deal with big change in any form well, all mmorpgs who ever had to make big changes for very rational and good reasons were still met with an enormous emotional community backlash and doomsaying. People who play games are just not able to handle change well and devs know it which is why they often ignore community reactions when they have to introduce major changes for some reason, we ve seen that in countless mmorpgs over the years.
  2. You mean you made a dark side Jedi guardian? Because you can still choose a 2nd combat style on that characters, and as a force users you do get the special option to change your initial combat style to the empire mirror, so you do have the option to change your Jedi guardian for example into a Sith juggernaut, just not a different advanced class, only limited to the mirror of your initial advanced class.
  3. Coming from WoW I can confirm raiders never stop complaining, WoW has become the raid loggers dream and they still complained about the few times they had to go through Torghast and covenants because omg they had to go through a fight while being 2% suboptimal, the horror. Trust me, these people are never satisfied, even when all forms of casual content has been gutted and casual gear is literally 30 ilvls below max, they still complain.
  4. Not exactly. Let's say your bounty hunter is a mercenary so that will be their 1st combat style, if you want him to also use a sniper rifle you will choose sniper as the 2nd combat style. Then you will activate the second combat style and your character will have the abilities of a sniper and lose their mercenary abilities, but story wise you are still technically a bounty hunter so you can say you are a bounty hunter who just uses the sniper toolkit. If you want to heal then you ll have to activate your 1st combat style which is mercenary and change to the healing spec just like you can now.
  5. No it works the same way as the specs of your advanced class, you activate a spec and that becomes your active spec, you lose all the other skills of the previous spec If your first combat style is sorcer, you can be a second combat style such as assassin or marauder, when you activate it you stop being a sorcerer and you become an assassin or marauder for example. Though in the story you remain an inquisitor
  6. Out of curiosity, do we have details of what was cut exactly? what storylines would get more etc?
  7. I thought republic was a far smaller faction than empire yet consistently I find republic people in the pvp area, and they are republic since their class descriptions are jedi, not the empire combat style. Though i would be seeing a lot more empire players around than republic for us who wanted to do the gree dailies without the huge lag+pvp dailies.
  8. I mean we are gonna see how it will go, almost everyone will be losing something be it stuns, mobility, defensives or other utilities. I am quite excited to see how pvp will feel now because there will be noticeable differences, with some classes having less mobility or defensives and stuns it means people might have to be more careful to survive instead of rely on their 5th hyper mobility/defensive ability etc Things are going to be definitely different and really excited to see how, or how bad it will turn up with mercs not losing any of their dcds xd Though of course if your complaint is you are losing stuff and simply hate that without caring about why this is done, its another subject and feelings are not a serious discussion.
  9. I would say it is possible but it isnt worth putting resources on it compared to making actual content. It would be nice but that's it, and I know well how annoying it can be cuz i have often remade characters cuz i didnt remember the choices I made on a previous one.
  10. That would be great, limited time rewards are quite a terrible and manipulative thing imo
  11. Nobody is implying removing abilities is "content", removing abilities=attempt to balance many problems that have gotten out of control since many classes had a ton of dcds, mobilidy, control etc. We ll see how it goes, it is definitely a good start but some classes cough cough merc cough cough didnt get affected as much.
  12. 6.0 was quite a big update imo, 7.0 is tiny compared to that and you have to remember a lot of resources were spend on untangling combat styles from origin stories and the class changes. And the think is, all major mmorpgs got screwed during covid with content being far lighter and gutted so I am not surprised if that affected the swtor team as well. The combat class design has not changed much and it doesnt need to in order to be ported, FF14 is played in consoles and it has almost the same amount of skills, they all instead are dps skills instead of the more interesting utility skills. So number of buttons is not really relevant when it comes to porting something to consoles. If anything the class changes are good because some dcds were getting out of control, i am definitely interested in seeing how the new balance will settle with all the changes now that class overall have less stuns, mobility, dcds etc.
  13. BiS is useless to everyone, raiders dont need it either because you dont need the best gear to clear a raid, so this excuse is destroyed, raiders are simply entitled and believe they deserve special treatment simply because they raid, it is not the first game where we see the raider entitlement where they believe they are somehow special and should have better gear and everyone else should have inferior gear aka at the expense of the majority. Here's the thing, I often do high end content because I like gear progression in any mmorpgs, I NEVER was insecure or entitled to be annoyed that casuals get to be on the same gear level as me, if anything that is good because it shows the only difference between us is how good we play the class, now unfair gear advantages some will simply earn by getting carried by their guilds or just for credits.
  14. Again I have debunked this multiple times. The "be able to choose a combat style immediately" clearly refers to you picking up the SECOND COMBAT STYLE, nowhere does it say that it replaces your old combat style. It literally you can choose a combat style similar to your previous advanced class so a merc would be able to become a merc/commando hence similar. Or you can be something new meaning you can pick any other choice as your second combat style. Do you see how it is worded? it says combat style, not combat styleS and uses the word "OR" so clearly it refers to ONE CHOICE, not multiple, so it is only about the 2nd combat style. If you dont understand how something works you shouldnt be talking about it and spreading misinformation. Want further proof? Why in the PTS the system allows force users to change their initial combat style but limits them to ONLY their mirror combatstyle, a sage can changed to a sorc but not a marauder. That means the initial playstyle choice is included, and is PURPOSELY LIMITED by the devs because they dont want you to be allowed to change your initial combat style, and for tech users you cant even change your initial combat style to mirror. The choice for changing the initial combat style exists in a very limited form on purpose, if you honestly believed we could change our initial advanced class why do you think the devs themselves made a system limiting your existing characters severely? Because the PTS system was clearly finished, there wasnt any unfinished part otherwise they wouldnt have included that force user initial combat style part. You dont have anything that supports your statement yet you boldly barge in telling others they dont know simply because you feel for a confusing bioware post, but we have more than this post now and all signs point to limiting existing characters
  15. That is literally called giving special treatment to one niche and minority type of players simply for doing OPS while screwing everyone else's progression aka the majority.
  16. Nah thanks, he is a dumb stereotypical soldier dude, even as republic i would always choose the empire on Iokath just to get rid of Malcolm because I dont want such people in positions of power, especially when I am almost always joining the republic in onslaught unless I am a sith force user.
  17. No thanks, you shouldnt be one shoting and deleting everything around you just because you are max level
  18. Woah that is sad, cmon bioware, give us General daddy Daeruun, he is so cute and hot and the game is in desperate needs of male-male alien romances
  19. Definitely excited -Powertech in trooper storyline gonna be great, always preferred the republic but their tech classes were meh -The balance in pvp is about to change by quite a lot due to how a lot of classes are losing dcds/mobility/cc, well expect of cough cough mercs cough cough -New gear grind, always enjoy that unlike some people who seem to hate farming gear in an MMORPG -Cant wait to make all sorts of builds with the new and improved talent system that affects our core skills
  20. As a non force user I would never support any sith empire because no matter what, non force users will always be treated as subservient under the Sith. Just look at the dark council, they control the empire yet there are no non-force users there.
  21. First instance had like 88 people, jumped on the 5th instance and it had around 70 as well and lag was still noticeable. Havent tried more, might try during a less active time.
  22. Or is it currently lagging like crazy because there's far too many people engaged in combat in illum? I remember back at launch the lagfest was that was illum when many tried to have mass pvp but I never had any similar lag before, everyone seems to be doing the gree event and even if you go to a different phase the lag is still there and it is quite noticeable, sometimes takes 3-4 seconds to actually use the ability and everyone has been noticing it based on general chat. Is this what usually happens during the Gree event or is it because so many people have returned that illum cant handle them?
  23. I am gonna be starting a male powertech in trooper storyline in 7.0 and since I havent played republic side as much, can we romance General Daeruun? That big manly Krex guy? I heard there are flirt options but do they lead to romance? Or do we have any hints of it going further than a flirt? The game desperately needs more male-male Alien romances and General daddy Daeruun looks perfect for that.
