  1. I did it recently (4.0) with one of my Bounty Hunter (pretty sure it was my Powertech in Shield spec). Granted it felt loooong on both Shae Vizla and the two mandos because of the low DPS but unless I'm mistaken, it didn't strike me as particularly hard I might record a run of Blood Hunt the next time I feel doing it if you want, but honestly I don't remember it as the hardest one out there. The one I won't do again in tactical alone with my tank is Battle of Rishii, because of Marko Ka and the other one. After the first run I was simply sick of it already. Goddammit it takes FOREVER to kill these two because of the freaking healing droids. I cannot DPS the droid fast enough and cannot kill them before they heal the bosses. So you have to out-DPS their heals and believe me, it feel like an eternity because of the low DPS of my tank powertech. If I had to do it again with this character would switch my build to DPS, like pyrotech or something because otherwise that's long as hell.
  2. Yes and yes. Game is so easy it's not rewarding/gratifying anymore since there's no challenge. Disclaimer : I understand perfectly that some just want an easy mode to follow the story without really bothering with the fight. I'm not blaming people who want that. That's fine, good on them. I'm just saying that there should be a dedicated "easy mode" that you can toggle instead of forcing it to everyone. Right now, leveling and questing is a joke. Sometime, you are literally able to pull a pack of mob and physically get up your chair, leave the room to answer a phone call and still manage to survive the fight because the companion are op as hell. Smashing a few key accelerate the process and guarantee you the victory, but that's about it. I'm not even exaggerating that much, here. I understand the point of the solo mode for flashpoint, but quite frankly it's a bit useless, since normal mode can be done solo with a comp without any trouble. Well, it's a bit longer, I'll grant you that. Then again, I don't complain about the solo mode. As I said, I understand that some just want an easy mode for the story, so I'm fine with that. But outside the flashpoint, during the PVE leveling, everybode have to cope with being an immortal god that can faceroll his way through the planet without challenge, and that's a bit sad. To be fair, it's not all Bioware's fault. They tried to nerf the companion and the backslash they received from the community was so huge they had to revert the nerf nearly entirely and make them OP again. Granted, they might have nerfed the comp too much in one patch. That might have been more progressive, but still. So now, people tell you to find workaround like "restrict yourself, disable you companion or go around without gear". Well, it's kind of stupid, I want to enjoy the game as it's supposed to. Just give us an option (ON/OFF) that toogle an easy mode that boosting your health, damage and companion and that's it.
  3. 1) Customize companion appearance is a nice feature and it's too bad it doesn't show when they are place in stronghold when playing another character/alt than the one they are linked too. 2) Yeah, holo-companion sucks a bit. All in all, I support this suggestions, even if my hope are low. If custom gear was easy and possible, Bioware would have done it from start. For the holo, however, I fail to see the reason. Ho, and while I'm at it, increase the companion cap, please. In this KotFE age where we get a ton of companion and where we have uberhuge stronghold, having a 25 placeable companion cap in stronghold is silly.
  4. I would be totally fine with no headgear or even with some weird clipping like the one for Twi'lek. I strongly support the addition of Nautolan as playable race. I would support the addition of a lot of race (Gand, Kel Dor, whatever) but I think Nautolan is the easiest to introduce considering they are humanoïds pretty close to what is playable in game already. So yeah, would pay cartel coin for this.
  5. I would suggest some kind of very basic household appliance. I mean, I understand it's not really as badarse as command center, turrets and bounty hunter force-field cell (damn, I love this one) but I always bugged me than there's nothing that would fulfill basic need such as cooking. I need food to have a functional stronghold. Well, there's the tribal campfire decoration that have meat on it but putting a campfire inside is a bit weird. Having tons of kitchen stuff would be equally weird and useless, but having one or two big piece like a table with food on it or some kind of cooking (or food storage) device might be consistent with the idea of a stronghold. Also, yeah, considering the ever-increasing number of companion, expending the 25 limit cap to 30 or 40 would be damn sweet.
  6. Yeah, I agree. In overall, the "family tree" feature is just sloppy and incomplete. It just seems not finished. You are, for instance, very limited because the "vertical levels" are resctricted to "family". You can't have a "ally" link that goes vertically, meaning one character can only be linked with two allies or rivals maximum, and that these allies cannot be directly linked to each other. Considering the vast options of races available, it's weird to think that Bioware focused this feature that way, putting emphasis on the "family" aspect more than "social relationship" aspect. Give us more links like "Partnership" "contractor" "Boss" whatever.
  7. Okay so I got an answer from the Customer Service and they're basically saying: "Suck it up, you're screwed". They told me roughly : "Try to leave the zone and get back in, try to reset the quest and try again, and if it doesn't work, too bad, we're out of options, we can only help you if it's story mission, not side quests". Obviously nothing worked so there's now for me 3 achievement and two reward that are not obtainable. What is really suprising is that GM are not willing to update a simple bugged side-quest for you. That's a new one in a MMO. And that sucks.
  8. I agree. Wall display not being able to be put close to wall is quite frustrating. Need to be on floor medium and/or floor medium narrow, please.
  9. Don(t want to bring back old thread from the ground, but it's still not fixed. Even the force-chocked guy didn't count for me. It wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't something requested for an achievement. An achievement granting a reward, mind you.
  10. Personal feedback, I did try some old character and character I just picked up again to level them. 1) Character : Bounty Hunter - Powertech Level: 56 Roughly Average Item Rating: 176 nearly every slot Discipline: Shield Tech Companion: Mako Companion role: Healer Companion Influence level: 10 What I did : Solo leveling content - Forged Alliance - Rakata Prime Flashpoint - No class buff, no droid companion If you aim for story with Low difficulty entry barrier Bioware, rejoice. It was really easy. Granted, I was one level the mob, but still. I don't think I ever fell under 90% of health. If I did, I was so quickly healed that it was not noticieable and didn't had any impact. No matter the boss (Rand, Rankor & Champion, Arkous & Darok), I never had to pop up heal or anything. Considering that you could use in addition the "placed very conveniently" kolto units around each boss fight and that you could pop up an godlike droid companion, I would say this content is absolutely accessible and doable by anyone, anytime. Young or old, drunk or drugged. I don't think the nerf would cause any trouble 2) Character : Jedi Consular - Sage Level: 50 Roughly Average Item Rating: around 106 Discipline: Balance Companion: Iresso Companion role: Tank Companion Influence level: 6 What I did : Solo leveling content - Corellia and class story quest and a H2 (Can't remember the name of the quest, sorry, the one near the park I think) Once again, very fine in term of low difficulty. You can progress the story without any trouble. H2 was also perfecdtly fine, Iresso tanked that like a champ. 3) Character : Bounty Hunter - Mercenary Level: 62 Roughly Average Item Rating: 188 Discipline: Arsenal Companion: HK-55 then Koth Companion role: Tank Companion Influence level: 1 What I did : Solo leveling content - KotFE Chapter IV Here again, very fine in term of low difficulty for the story. Companion tanked just fine. So for now, I mostly did solo content and that was obviously in line with what Bioware seems to want : Solo content = Easy content. I did one little H2 and that was fine. Now I would like to try StarFortess or harder H2 with a healing companion, because that the main complain around : The healing nerf. I will try and see if it's as impossible as some claim around here, but for now, I have to admit the nerf seems absolutely fine for the content I did (As expected, it was labelled as easy content)
  11. I had the ability to change what ? And I didn't do what ? And I don't support anything. Please, read correctly my post on the subject. I say I think the pre-nerf was boring because comp were too OP. I say that they needed to be nerfed. I never said anything about the actual nerf. I nerver said I was OK with this level or nerfing or anything. I didn't gave my opinion on the nerf that happened, I just said that pre-nerf, companion were way too strong and "a" nerf was needed. Maybe not "this" nerf, I don't know.
  12. There's a lot of fight during leveling, as in any MMO. leveling in solo with comp mean you have to go through a lot of PVE encounter with random mob.The game, while having some nice aspect, also have some weak point : Its combat system is somewhat dull and overall already pretty easy. Having completely OP companion absolutely kill all interest in solo PVE combat. You end up sleeping during the already not-that hard H2. You don't have to think about rotation, cooldown and defensive abilities anymore. Nothing keep you on your toes and nothing feels rewarding. Killing bosses don't make you feel somewhat proud if you can just idle while comp do the job. That's a pretty good downside if you ask me. Now, I understand very well some people were fine we OP comp and I respect that opinion. But saying there's no downside to it or that "it doesn't affect anybody's gameplay" is simply wrong.
  13. Many people gave a flip, mind you. Just because you didn't doesn't mean you can generalize to "no one cared". I, for one, wasn't finding OP comp "fun" at all. It killed all challenge and had more fun with them being not as strong. It was boring. (inb4 "you could just make them passive" : While it's true, it's not very fun either). Then again, I won't pretend that I can speak in everyone's name, I'm sure a bunch of people were glad that the comp were so OP you were able to cook cupcake at the same time you played without dying.
  14. What before are you talking about? Before 4.0 ? or "after 4.0 but before 4.02" ? Because in my opinion (fun is subjective) it was not fun at all between 4.0 and 4.02. Companions needed a nerf badly, they were completely OP. Now, maybe nerf is too much, idk, maybe a middle gorund, but they should definitely NOT reverted it at the state they were right before the nerf, they were way too powerfull and were just making the game boring as heck.
  15. Hehe, I'm actually curious and eager to try what's all this fuss is about. Wasn't able to play since the yesterday patch. A nerf was needed, badly. You could have been blindfolded and still faceroll nearly the whole game with you companion, and thing that were engaging and a bit challenging before became a walk in the park. So yeah, nerf was needed but I'd like to see by myself if they went completely overboard with it (like some claims here) or not.
  16. I'm not even talking about starfortress or any heroic mode, I'm just talking about regular leveling sole content. I understand the point of lowering the skill entry barrier, I don't understand the will to kill absolutely all challenge to the point it becomes a boring faceroll walk-in-the-park. The problem is a combination between boring combat system, the number of combat, and their difficulty. If you have a fun & engaging combat system with a bit of depth, then a high number of encounter isn't a issue. Even if they are quite easy, it's still pleasant to do and you can enjoy them. But here, well... SWTOR isn't really known for its combat system. If you want to make a game with a big focus on story and you have a dull combat system, then either have to reduce the number of encounter or make them a bit challenging. SWTOR have a lot a not-so-engaging combat that are getting easier and easier each update. Killing the challenge without changing the combat system isn't the solution.
  17. This. Before, the solo (and actually also the group quest during leveling) game was super easy. Now it's TOO easy. Really, it's just boring. I picked up an old character to finish its class storyline, and even though everything had changed (skilltree, rotation and so on), I can just faceroll the thing without paying ANY attention. I understand that Bioware want to make the game more forgiving, streamline every aspect of the game so we don't have to micro-manage anything, but come on. When a Jedi Consular (without healing companion) don't even have to use any heal or shield and just can match button to win, there's a problem. You lose every achievement feeling and everything just feel dull and numb.
  18. More like "you're playing the wrong MMO". SWTOR is ultra casualized in tons of aspects. Most group quest bosses are simple tank and spank and require no tactics at all. Feat tree were extremely limited and streamligned and it recently just went worse with the new system that forbid the sometime fun hybrid build for a system that basically give you the cookie cutter build with you having extremely few control over what you want to customize, except for a handful of passive perk with limited impact (but that allows you to orient a bit your build toward some PVE combat style, or PVP) We also recently the will of EA/Bioware to push that "noob friendly" aspect as much as they can : Offering a way to solo instance is good, killing all challenge by adding a god-like droïd by default that does everything for you is dumb and dull. Even when you remove it, it stay quite a breeze to go through. It's a choice. I mean, I'm sure there's plenty of people that just want to follow the story in easy mode with a minimum effort and that's fine. Good on them, they found the right MMO. I don't like that because I like a bit challenge but that's the way they decided to go and that's not a new scandal: We know that SWTOR is very forgiving, easy, and that the skill requirement is super low. It's not a scoop. We play for tons of reason: The universe, the friends, whatever, some for the PVP, some for the housing system... But definitely not for the challenge during leveling. So yeah, while I agree with OP, I can't say it's surprising.
  19. No but you can KB/push him away him with force wave, which interrupt the attack, too.
  20. Worst part is that they don't indicate any e-mail contact adress on their support page. Seriously, what the hell? If you have a problem (payement, account, whatever), that mean you can only either contact them in-game, or make a phone call. IG contact is restricted to subbed player (which is an atrocious model of support), and if you're from a smaller country, you have to make an international phone call that cost you an arm and a leg because a problem might be on THEIR side. Yay, way to go, EA/Bioware.
  21. Unless it's introduced only for new solo quests, especially designed to be done with multiple companion (because increased difficulty, enrage-timer, whatever); I think it would pretty much break the whole solo adventure. It's already pretty easy, you can solo every "2 players coop quests" of your level and most of the 4 people one if you have just a few level more. Adding a third companion would mean you can faceroll every quest in speedrun-like time.
  22. I actually liked to do all quest both side once. Because it give much more depth to the universe. They give you this (false) feeling that things are in evolution. You act, you have these bonus quest-line that make you learn more about who control what in the great scheme of the war. So yeah, personally I would do that once with a character, then for the rerolls, you can just smash through with the x 12XP boost.
  23. Chill out, relax, it's just a forum thread. What is true, is that solo content is piss easy due to inexistent mechanism in fight. I, for one, am not asking for artificial difficulty such as blaster-sponge enemies that hit harder and have more health point. But I would be all for more complexity in fight. Sometime a time-based puzzle, sometime interesting boss mechanisms that require some attention and skills, etc. Something that require focus, not better gear. It's very disappointing that the most difficult thing to do in solo is to be careful enough to press "interrupt" every now and then when he goes big nuke or big heal.
  24. Ha ! True, sorry. Just blindly went by his name instead opf species. Sorry, correcting that right now, Gandis what I should have voted for, thanks for the correction. (Btw : Model in game are quite nice already)
  25. My vote : Nautolan Gand Weequay Thanks for the poll. Edit : Sorry, changed Kel Dor by Zuckus just 5 minute after my post 'cause they're awesome. And then corrected by Gand because I went full retard.
