  1. . It's not actually a dps issue, their dps is about the same as a telekenitcs sorc. Cull snipers have similar damage, can do it at 30 meeters, 16 second shied probe (that straight absorbs damage), a pushback, an imobolize, 2 stuns, an aoe 20% damage reduciton, and a 100% defense on a minuite cooldown. How is that ok, when vigilance survivability isn"t? They have 1 50% defense bonus, 1 40% damage reduction, saber reflect, a health buff that buys at best 5 seconds of fighting unless there is a healer present, and focused defense, which heals a total of 1500 hp if per charge for 10 charges. Focused defense is being nerfed. They aren't any more survivable than stnipers are, if in a more direct manner, and snipers operate at 35 meters, which adds to the survivability aspect significantly because a, they have to get to you, and b, they are not in your face and readily apparent and so quite often get 2 or 3 gcd's before they are spotted, much less advanced on, and they can't be charged so they'll still go through 1/3rd of your hp before you can c;lose to stop it. They are fine. You cannot judge balance at low tier levels like most regular warzones. that's not how balance works, what is broken at low tiers can be completely useless at high tiers. Proper balance works top down. Edit: that's also just from a pvp perspective. they're among the least desirable in raids, they have to be close to deal damage, and deal low dps compared to like 6 other classes.

I've seen a ton of complaining about vengance/vigilance jugs/guardians in gen chat, about how over powered they are (despite significantly lower dps than mara's, snipers, commandos and smugglers.) I don't know if this is the general forums attitude or not, and I don't feel like checking 37000 topics to see, but for once vigilance is in a decent place and i want to see it stay there. Guardians kill you, because you're dumb. Now, I can't blame you, i have/do make the same mistake. Attacking into sabre reflect is how you die. It reflects damage to the attacker. I don't actually know it's damage cap, but it's at least 4698 damage, as shown here http://www.torparse.com/l/668240 at 01:47:23.783 So, the smart guardian waits for the super powerful mulit hit attacks (cull, full auto, master strike,, series of shots, force lightning, chain lightning, disturbance, ect. i can go on) and starts sabre reflect and you don't notice. Now, because none of the individual hits deal a ton of damage alone, sabre reflect reflects the full damage of your ability at your face, and you've now gone through 5-15 k of your own health. Because you're an idiot. Again, I can't blame you, i have missed it and killed myself too. It's easy to miss. It's your own damn fault. The correct response when you see it (on guardains, they get a glowy electric aura) is to stun them, or pop defensive cooldowns, or run away. Even just canceling your move and standing there is better than attacking. I'm hoping it's not a problem, but vigilance guardians seem to be fotm atm, which is usually followed by nerfs, and i don't want guardians falling back to useless like they did after the tank smash fiasco of like a year ago.. If you think they're op, they're not. They're decent, at best. You're being killed by idiocy.
