  1. Pretty much this. Close this thread and end the semantic arguments.
  2. You wanna know what I want? Closure on the Khem Val companion story. Not an "oh well, deal with it." People who completed sith inqui story know what I'm talking about.
  3. Still can't interact with 80% of deco stuff. Better yet, still can't do the most basic of things like "sleeping" on your bed or sitting on a chair. Not.Excited.
  4. I agree with the idea. I'd love to hear in-game movie promos like the Blasto movies in the ME series. Except you could have a Jawa doing it.
  5. Classic case of internet misuse to pickup context/nuances. That's why I never take anything at face-value because there's no way to tell all the time if someone's serious or not. Personally, if I was that sorc and you told me it was a misunderstanding, I would've accepted it because I'm not the insecure type of person. Hell, I don't even think I would've initiated any sort of argument if you told me it was gonna be all right cause I like my runs to be cakeslice. Those guys, clearly do NOT like cake.
  6. There was a time when you didn't have the internet to go to find out how to do things. My happiest gaming memories was going to the schoolyard next day and share with my friends how far a level we went up to, crazy stages we had to clear, secret routes that some of us had found or little achievements we had discovered. The fun was in the mystery of gaming and being completely in the dark. Nowadays, you get labeled with the 'idiot' sticker if you didn't look up a guide on how to do X instance. And naturally, everyone expects you to understand how the instance rolls just by reading, even though everyone has a different learning process. I'm so glad I never watched a TFB video and got a good guild to throw me some learning ropes. Not only that was fun but the way that parts of TFB are graphically gorgeous (as I like to call it, the Tron World), I feel like I would've ruined myself the enjoyable experience of seeing something brand new if I had watched it on the internet. People want to advise others to watch/read guides? That's fine but I wish those people also realize not everyone learns the same way and some people actually like the element of discovery and adventure in their gameplay.
  7. Its an annoyance, I know and it can get irritating if you switch alts every now and then (sometimes to the point where I ask myself if Ignore function works, only to realize I'm ignoring the for the fourth time on a different alt) but all you can do is just ignore and move on.
  8. -What server is this? -Do they sell character transfer in GTN -Shut up and take my money (I'm putting it there just in case).
  9. You know, I was near victim of that but that didn't stop me from tanking and that's because of a very small and yet incredibly awesome feature for tanks: Near instant queue. Seriously, the longest I've ever waited for a queue was 10mins. I was playing at some wee hour of the night (like 4am) and yet I still managed to find a group. So if a healer wants to kick me because I won't put guard on him, that's his/her loss, because AFAIK, that group's gonna be waiting a looooong time through GF, while I get a new group that hopefully has a more sensible healer in a very short amount of time. That's why I'm not afraid of getting kicked
  10. So I don't know if this will ever pick up, after clear evidence from "The weird people you meet in Group Finder" thread (http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=633655) that there seems to be a higher ratio of terri--I mean, frustrating people than good ones, but I hope this thread will be filled with feel good stories that will hopefully restore faith in pug-kind. I'll begin with my story. This story begins a little shortly after double exp week ended. After deciding to learn the shadow tanking tools of the trade-NOT exclusively through KDY, thank you very much--I decided to queue up for Red Reaper. I had a lot of different flashpoints but it just occured to me that Red Reaper was one of those flashpoints I never actually got to do on any character whatsoever. Thought to myself that it'd be a good lvl 50 test to myself as I'd be venturing into complete unknown territory. I queue up. The first thing I do after it insta-pops (yeah, that fast), is that I tell my group that I had never done RR before. One guy says its fine and I proceed. One of the most unexpected things of that fp was the ELITE mobs that would suddenly spawn out of nowhere once you stepped in an area ahead, something I learned painfully after the first pull and I got knocked back into the hallway. Enter Good Guy Greg, a.k.a the Agent that I'll never be able to remember the name so I'll refer to him as GGG. GGG doesn't get miffed. He doesn't even call me names or initiates a vote-kick after the first wipe. GGG simply tells me not to worry about and laughs it up. Every time we enter a new area, GGG warns me about where elite mobs will spawn. GGG tells me about boss gimmicks. GGG even goes a step further and shows me some cool tricks tanking tricks like Line of Sight (which I knew about as a healer but rarely applied it as tank). The rest of RR goes smoothly. GGG gives me info, I act upon it, execute and we progress. We finish the flashpoint and I thank GGG for his infinite wisdom, that day restoring my faith in pug-kind. Share your feel-good stories.
  11. The only reason I'd be up for a day/night cycle at any point in any game is if it had special occurrences during such times. For example, let's say at night there are special mobs that come out at specific spots in a map or you can find more of a particular gathering item than you do during the day. Otherwise it just feels like a wasted thing to me.
  12. Good read OP. What did I get from this though is not that WoW sucks per se. Its just that a lot points you mentioned really shows how outdated WoW. Obviously years ago, all of these points would be baseless somewhat but any up and running mmo these days that would use the same components that WoW have now would fall flat. Please tell me you're a Doctor Who fan
  13. I can't even either. Had to run to the sink to spew out the coffee I was drinking due to laughing so hard.
  14. That's a recurring problem with new players. I'm not sure if its because they're afraid they're going get kicked or they're hoping they won't be noticed and they'll continue the op/fp under the radar. The thing is, especially in raids, the first thing that most people do is gear check and its usually either before the raid starts or after a first pull and there some difficulty during that pull. I wish there was a way to tell new players to state that they don't know a fp/op is fine because most of the time, experienced will love teaching someone that is actually WILLING to learn. My guild took their time and patience to pour down some heavy knowledge on how to properly gear my healer and they were very thorough in explaining raid mechanics as well. Of course, all of that would have not happened if I had just either: A)Pretended I knew everything (which for some reason it seems like a popular trend with either know-it-alls or new players) or B) Keep quiet and hope nobody notices. SPEAK UP AND BE HONEST PEOPLEZ. It will help you in the long run.
  15. Omg, you remind me of one of my guildmates. Every time I'd get an achievement for killing X amount of imperials, he'd be like "you traitor (cause I'm impside based), how dare you strike a fellow imp!!" It was pretty funny.
  16. Other two posters pretty much summed up my grief. I play a shadow tank (leveled it during 2bl exp but made sure to gear up decently as I leveled along). I've had tankinels, dps healers, "my way or the highway" players, impatient ones. While I love to shadow tank (and I'm planning to make a sin tank) because its fun and I feel like I'm pretty good at, every time I queue, I have to draw in breath. It sucks to say this but to all future and current tanks: you need tough skin. You also need to speak up (politely) when your teammates are screwing around or long time players think they can do a better job than you because they're not the ones tanking: you are. As long as you do your job right, meaning taking aggro and paying attention to each combat situation, the role of other teammates is to follow your lead and your tanking style. If they don't like it, too bad. Many times I've had requested people to kick me because they would not listen at all and continuously make what was supposed to be a normal/easy flashpoint into total nintendo-hard chore.
  17. To quote the TV show How I Met Your Mother: "Nothing good happens after 2am".
  18. ADD: Attention deficit deadmen Because that is what's gonna happen in a couple of seconds if someone doesn't take care of those mooks surrounding the healer...
  19. Zinda? No wait, that's the bounty target woman.
  20. I bought my own stuff. Let me explain. Use toon #1 to put up this mount this item on gtn for 2 days. A day and a half later, I log into toon #2 and while casually browsing, noticed said item, completely overlooking toon#1's name and bought it. An hour later, I log into toon#1 and read the mail...
  21. I don't understand why people do everything in their power to do every single quest in the game. Don't say "because they're exciting" because not doing missions is way better than spending the rest of your in-game life doing one-time time missions and running different ops everyday. I force all 40 of my toons to skip through every single quest on every planet because that's what establishes them as speed cappers. Seriously, enjoy the game.
  22. This idea reminds of Dragon Nest's jump festa event. Similar to the jump token, this jump festa event allowed any new or old player to have access to a capped character with some slightly above average gear equipped. It appeared like a good idea but then, the problems began and it would be noted as centerpoint for bringing an already beligerent community into a poisonous toxic one. First, there was an inane amount of players who had no clue how to play their character. Because of this, raid failures intensified, which then in turn angered people even further. On the forums, we even had this thing for awhile were people would start calling others "newgen". All of this poisonous atmosphere stemming from a seemingly innocent event. Now does this mean the idea is bad? No, it just needs work. I myself suggested a "story mode" with some restrictions some time ago and it was met well. 23. After fully playing imp side for a long while and 2bl exp giving me the chance to play pub side stories quickly, I've been wondering what's the chronological events of the class stories. For instance I'm fairly certain that Basically is there a site or a way to know what events happen in sequence throughout the class chapters? EDIT: I tried looking up wookiepedia but it was giving me info on events that began BEFORE all of the class stories started.
  24. The problem is not only those wanting to opt out are a small minority but its the rate at which 2xp occurs. An opt out option would be the most simplest solution. What you're suggestion seems like something that would suit an ongoing event without end.
