  1. I now only queue for this, because I want the 10 elites for daily random; otherwise, this seems to be where you meet the most immature and/or inexperienced players on Begeren Colony. Only perceived as "tougher," because quality of team members poorer. The Czerka tacticals, Korriban and Tython seem just as bad, because lower bar for tacticals. These same schnooks don't dare HM55 FPs.
  2. I think we should all take a moment to celebrate the marauder! The most reckless and hurried DPS of them all! Low quality gear inverse proportion to high desire to pull before the tank, because player simply cannot get enough of that double saber throw! Three times in one week on three different toons, for me. In HM55 Mando Raiders, playing my mara in 180s (and I been around long enough to know not to rush ahead of the tank and not to drain too much of the healer's resources), my fellow DPS was a mara in 140/146 gear, who had to charge in first to every fight. When tank started letting him die, he self-ejected. I pulled out my Jaesa (162 gear), and we finished far more smoothly without that little yapping chihuahua. On my powertech (156 tank), on KDY, this other mara (156) kept complaining about our "dick moves," because he died in every fight. Hmm. Guess what? No healer, and the two other DPS knew well enough to let me, the meat shield, pull first. Also, the mara--AGAIN!--had to start every fight with double saber throw, and I did my best to grab threat as soon as I could, but I got tired of saving him. Okay, the dick move was mine, but I was trying to make this a teachable moment. Finally, on my healer, in Tython... least well geared member of group was a mara who was in a big rush and started every fight with double saber throw. Not worth going into detail, because it's the same thing. What is it about people who play maras?
  3. I'd simply be glad for maras who don't jump into every fight first (double saber throw is addicting, yes, but seriously? every time?) and let my tank start the pull, so I can do my job of being their meat shield. My only philosophy: LEAD (not just through the map but also set the tone for the interaction between players, particularly around loot) and PROTECT. Too many DPS just wanna FPS Doom their way through the game and only think the tank and healer are there to make it fun for them. Too many players in PUGs don't know the encounters or aren't willing to listen. Too many players don't know loot-sharing protocol. I understand now why there seem to be fewer tanks than the other roles (at least on Begeren Colony): it can be a thankless job.
