  1. Pssssh... "Died". He is probably in the carbonite chamber next to the one you woke up in. Also, if you leave the story before he dies, he works fine as a companion. Technology is his favorite companion gift.
  2. Throwing lots of credits at companion gifts.
  3. HK-51 is still really great in DPS mode. At rank 50 his Hunter-Killer ability hits for 35k regularly. Terminate hits in the mid to high 20k range... and those work on champion and elite mobs, and work while he already in a fight. I get a lot more use out of them then I ever got out of Assassinate.
  4. You should get a group of roleplayers together to go PvP entirely in character. That would be amazing.
  5. This is what I think everytime I see someone talking about this. I have something like 19 companions now, and I don't have them all. With that many companions, that all behave similarly, there is no reason to just not go after the ones that you don't want to do the quest for. It also makes sense to me that if you want all the companions, you will need to interact with all the different parts of the game. I anticipate there will eventually be a companion that you have to do GSF to get. They are like achievements now.
  6. If you have them at 10k Influence, you won't have to do anything to get them to rejoin you when they show back up in the storyline. For Talos, that isn't really a big deal, and so you could probably skip getting his influence up. If you were looking at a companion that has an irritating quest (like pierce/4x if you don't PvP) then it is worth it so you can skip that.
  7. I really can't wrap my mind around why anyone would choose to stand around idle rather than doing something. It isn't like getting killed in PvP is some horrible thing. Doing something towards the objectives is more entertaining than watching Netflix in the other monitor.
  8. I also use holostatues to retrain. Not being able to commit without zoning or relogging appears to be a bug. It was not that way prior to 4.0. I like the ability to switch between specs as needed.
  9. I noticed that even though all companions can be used for all three roles now, Treek and HK-51 have abilities that the other companions don't have. Treek has an entirely different set of healing abilities for instance, including an AOE heal. HK's DPS bar is significantly different from other companions. Has anyone seen a comparison of those abilities to other companions?
  10. Yeah. It would be slow going at first until you built up enough cash on hand to be making good profits, but it is certainly doable.
  11. I have not noticed this happening in Warzones. If it doesn't happen in Warzones, then I think that making people move out of the spawn area is enough. Otherwise, people would be doing this in Warzones.
  12. Does this happen in warzones too? I don't think I have seen it, but I haven't looked. j If it doesn't, then I think that doing the same "you must leave the safe zone area" thing would fix the problem.
  13. I disagree with this tactically, but I think you should start a new topic so we can argue about it without hijacking the thread.
  14. I am primarily a blaster fighter, but I love rocket pods. If anyone is curious, one of the master level abilities gives them a DoT that ticks for 15-20 damage every second for 5 seconds.
  15. I hunt and kill gunships all the time. I regularly spend entire games hunting gunships. That being said, the only games that I have considered quitting out of because of how not-fun they were, were games with gunships that had a good support team. Don't get me wrong, I understand that an organized team is probably going to win anyway. I also understand that there are things you can do against them - I was doing those things in those games - but they still sucked. They were really not enjoyable at all. In my mind, that is a much bigger problem than whether or not gunships are OP. Playing against competent gunships is much more likely to be unenjoyable. Hell, even effectively fighting against them isn't enjoyable when that turns into a constant running spawn game.
  16. It makes the blasters do more damage, a significant amount more, maybe 25%. You can also boost longer if you have power to engines. It makes your shields come back faster, but I don't know if it does anything else to shield. I think that Power Conversion is the most important thing that is missing from the Tutorial. Knowing how to use that helps a tremendous amount.
  17. F1 - Power to weapons F2 - Power to shields F3 - Power to engines F4 - Balanced distribution
  18. I'm not certain that kills earn any Req at all. If they do, it is a tiny amount. You do get a Req reward for doing Damage, but it isn't weighted very high. I have earned 1800 Req in a single match (where I was not earning x2 Req), and I had 0 kills for that match. I spent the entire match either claiming satellites or defending. (I have been unable to get that high since the first patch after release. I'm not certain if that is because the amount of Req earned from claiming was reduced, or if people just got better at defending.)
  19. A) The amount of Req you get at the end of the fight is not determined by how many medals you earn. You earn Req based on what actions you do. Many of the actions that earn you Req will also earn you medals. B) Defending a satellite earns you Req. You need to be relatively close to the Satellite for it to count you as a Defender. Not as close as it takes to claim one, but you won't get it if you are 15k away. C) Defending also earn you medals. You get one at 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 minutes.
  20. There are some dual-monitor utilities that I have used in the past that lock your pointer to one screen. I used to use MurGee. It lets you set a hotkey that will lock your pointer to one screen no matter what else you have running. That might be a solution for you.
  21. I play in dual monitors all the time. I occasionally run the pointer off to the other monitor, but not enough to bother me. Certainly not enough to make the game unplayable. That being said, some sort of functionality that would let me lock my mouse pointer to that screen would be nice.
  22. The team with all the kills focused on dogfighting and left their satellites undefended.
  23. I am irritated that bioware hasn't yet waved their magic coding wand that instantly translates desire to coded reality and given us PvE starfighter. It is selfish of them.
