  1. net lasts 10 seconds, that's enough time to.. 1. run up and jet boost them to a lower platform assuming they aren't white barred. 2. burst them down with heatseeker and tracer (railshot if you know they used dodge recently) and bam, the ballcarrier is dead because you took away their only counter to force/tech damage which is 70% of the damage in this game

  7. knight animations > warriors smuggler animations > agents (punching and fist fighting > knifing) troopers < bounty hunters sage telekinesis > soroccer's lightning and for what animations aren't literally shared between shadows and sins, shadow's better. Discharge is cool I'll admit but everything else was dumb in comparison.

  10. so I looked at the imgae and noticed you're krea and went A-HA! ..and then I actually looked at the signature... anyway. I see you around enough, if you remember me at all I'm the merc zeltech (formly named bobafeet) and I was on my guardian a lot, shurfane (formly known shrengonjin) I restored both characters after deleting them when I was convinced to quit but I came back and have slowly been rebuilding the stuff I stripped and sold. (I also had a sniper suzken, but I felt I played my merc better and I need less toons to focus on as im not a person capable of 'shelfing' anyone) I have my good days and not so good days, usually get called out on on the latter. but im curious, with me or up against me, what's your general opinion? I've always working on optimizing gear but never actually complete it due to lack of time and/or money. But just playing wise. *Personally I don't know how you can stand playing a sin tank, to me it's not nearly as fun or effective as their dps specs, and guardian tanking is much more fun, but I disgress, you get stuff done and not get facerolled. I appreciate the wins.
  11. bla bla bla bla bad dps bla bla bla.. while that is a problem, a lot of people fail to understand that there is a lot of passive and powerful active damage mediation in this game, that's not even including guard. Yes, you shouldn't be attacking guarded targets (unless it's only a tank and guarded target present, or target is not being guarded by an actual tank) but being that dps is the only role I ever play in any mmo, there are a lot of factors that drop dps.. I'll list them. Being dead = a dead target is a target not doing damage, if your class is susceptible to focus fire for having poor DCD's this usally will be you. On the same note = a person taking damage will have a lower damage output, because they are focusing effort on staying alive and using GCD's on DCD.. Active damage nullifiers = saber reflect, dodge, shroud, bubble, roll, the first two seconds of saber ward, chaff flare, etc etc. These abilities will be popped when someone sees that they are about to be bursted, and hence bringing your damage down, and most of these abilities are on low CD's meaning they will be used often. You shouldn't attack targets with these defenses up, but it will happen, at least the first GCD for sure. It's not uncommon to switch targets a few times in a row and be unlucky enough to conveniently attack when said things are present on multiple people.. I remember my sniper would switch being 4 juggarnats in one fight and get reflected on everyone of them.. Taunting/guarding = with this game and it's taunts, plus aoe taunt that can be spammed every 45 seconds, that lasts 6 seconds, that's an almost constant 30% DR on top of what most classes have, it can be noticed on display of your toon, but it's very easy to not see. or even tell who taunted if there is multiple tank classes. This is a trivial one but, you can't damage any enemy if there aren't any present = your team is facerolling or you're guarding will also lead to low numbers.. but the overall scoreboard and match usually reflects this so that's not really big. point is, dps is more than spam a rotation and move around. there are only two classes in the game that can reduce healing targets receive (can't even reduce the healing someone does..or was it the other way around?) and 3 of them can use tankin abilities, two of which are fotm... guardians are also in a good place and fairly popular.. so realize it or not, dps is constantly being brought down..healing is not..
  12. well for sure drop some crit as the soft cap should still be 25%, meaning you're getting less %chance per crit point past that number (unless this changed) BB, HS and rail shot are your hard hitters, and all of these moves will crit often, so you really want as much surge and power as you can get. acly you shouldn't need a lot of since the only casts you need to worry about are tracer and BB, and most of your tracers will be instant anyway. and thrill of the hunt is essential imo for survival *mobility matters and BB will be used 80% of the time)
  13. oh okay sounds like a merc or a sniper having a hard time.. ...how..what? you're playing the most brain-dead 5 button fotm class? and having problems? you go in as tactics right? I remember on harbinger in a NC, a powertech /say to a vanguard on the other team "I didn't know it was possible to be that bad at vanguard" holy crap dude...

I have this resolved already, I guess it was one of the drives, or there was a set of usb ports that kept getting plugged because it wouldn't stay hooked into the slot, so that was removed, I don't remember but I guess some ports that were in there were interfearing with others with the way it was set up, but it's fixed now
  15. I consider this a buff if anything, now I can apply dos to everyone anytime that always stay on top of each other instead of every 15 seconds..
  16. you are the "coolest marauder ever" right?" it definitely seems like you, I played a mara myself, when you were around, deleted him long before 3.0 (6 characters is too much for me) back before I understood the importance of augments... anyway.. Fury is the top dog now? even above combat? is that because of dot spread mostly? or are the self heals actually worth something? I remember everyone complaining it had waaaay too much ramp up time and the dots were really sort, which was a pain to constantly re-apply, at least compared to other dot-specs... but it's been a long time since I played one. Everyone still seems so hate focus still after smash was destroyed, but it seems viable enough to me, as far as sustained burst goes. and with the sigulary buff not needing stacks..? but I wouldn't know. I thought about making one again though the fact that they have no KB, pull, or any kind of 'move an enemy around against his will' ability, really turns me away from the class. and I already have a guardian, which just feels smoother but I'm interested in your humble opinion edit* misread thinking fury was anilation lol..

  18. to add to this I played both merc and sniper at 60, and equally geared my merc has better survivability and ultimately performs better, why? the same reason shadows/sages, and vanguards are FOTM. mobility..mobile burst is king atm, sure snipers can sit in place and spam attacks and put out more damage, but that's unfocsed only, as soon as someone starts focusing you it's all over. your defensives look nice on paper, and back when dodge purged I'd say they were. but they all have long cd's and no utility to actively reduce them (like with power shield or dodge for scoundrels) you can roll every 20 seconds, avoiding all damge, that's cool..but one burst rotation on most class's is 12 seconds..so yeah gg. It's really more like comparing dog **** to mouse ****, both are bad. but one is more tolerable than the other.
  19. someone actually understands this? wow we have a winner. this game's population is low, and pvp community is even lower, meaning everyone knows everyone, meaning people know who will win and lose, which takes even more people away from pvp (including me)

Agree" hutball = best quesh huttball = is okay actually. better than the other maps we have at our disposal, elevation is good acw = sit around waiting to win/lose, requires one person guarding off node. boring something coast = same thing, requires guard, stand around waiting to win/lose only takes less time. not as bad as above. voidstar= the only nice thing about this is the instant death ledge you can knock people off of into death...and that's it. AHG= this one is alittle more dynamic, stealth cap is easier and guard is forced to move every 2 1/2 mins. although it's still easy to determin a win/lose in the first or second rnd. and... oh wait, that's it. so yeah only huttball maps are good.
  21. oh man I forgot this I posted this. yeah, while one of my fans did die, and given how hot it gets, my computer might be hotter and it did over heat loading this game once, (computer froze with the screen 'torn up') I havn't gotten the problem since I stopped recording my gameplay via plays.tv from raptr. Since it turned itself on with the new hard drive. I changed the save file path to my old hard-drive (now my storage drive) and haven't run into problems since
