  2. The Sith and the Jedi are few and far between, while any bloke can carry a gun. I always found it weird that there were people wielding lightsabers all over the place. One here and there and a ******** of normal troops feels more like Star Wars than a million Kylo Ren wannabes in 4.0.
  3. The thing is, everyone will do loads of dps if left alone. Doesn't matter the class. So it makes sense to kill whatever can be killed the fastest, i.e. PTs and juggs.

  5. Yes. On your part. Yes, if you are back by your team and the merc is alone. If the merc has a healer, you have a better chance of killing the healer. If he has a tank too, you can just forget it. Anything he pleases. Literally.. You can't stop him. He doesn't have to, you do. lol They won't. Not against a sorc dps...
  6. Look, you are all fundamentally misunderstanding this thing. People want to win in ranked. And if you are bad and cost them the game, they only want you to get out of the queue as quickly as possible. So they tell you the most vile things they can to scare you off. See.. They don't want you to actually kill yourself. You are to insignificant for people to bother even thinking about you. They want you out of the q. And the 'kill yourself' and similar comments just get the job done.
  7. I globaled myself once through jugg's reflect when I unloaded all my burst into him as an AP PT. It was very satisfying for some reason.
  8. So.. Come 5.0 I was gonna unsub cause of all the stupidity that was galactic command, but then I noticed bolster works marvelously even in ranked. So I sticked around cause the only thing I do is PvP. Now.. I don't give a flying **** about any of that cxp stuff and I suspect many who PvP don't either. And Bioware noticed that so they nerfed bolster to make us play their galactic command crap. Well, guess what, Bioware, I'm not gonna. In fact, the only thing you accomplished with this is to lose one more subscriber.
  9. Mercs are FOTM. Which means a lot of people play mercs now. Which also means vast majority is average at best with plenty of bad in between - remember that, that's important. More sins is just a reaction to that. See.. Sin eats merc for breakfast, especially in a group fight. And especially when the mercs are just average or worse than that. And, you just need to look at your average wz - bad mercs are dime a dozen (the important part from paragraph before).

    1v1s would just be concealment operatives eternally rolling around each other and healing themselves and 2v2s would be immortal jugg - corruption sorc pairs eternally beating each other on the head with juggs doing wet noodle dps and 2k healing sorcs cause there is nothing to heal.

  13. Ofc, I know all these tricks so I fight maras a bit differently. It just makes it easier, they'd die regardless. But you can expect most mercs to fight you like i described earlier.
  14. Yes, naturally you're super bad and need to l2p. You get it. (just a joke dude, dw) Tbh, a good merc will win against a good mara 1v1 cause they have the right tools for it. But, ofc, there is a way to kill a not as good merc. First, we need to look at what's the main strength of a merc in merc v mara duel. Range and off heals. You simply have to break when they mezz you to heal up and that's why you need to wait out the hard stun which they will use first. This is not really a problem, they won't kill you during the hardstun and any damage you soak up during it, you'll soak it up anyways at some point. I point this out cause I often see mara's break when I hardstun them and then can't break when i mezz and start to heal up. Now.. the net's gonna happen after this, there's no way around it and since you already used your breaker, you need to use undying through it but not right away, let me explain. Now.. the net itself is not what kills a mara, but the knockback + net cause you can't close in on them and they land their burst on you. This is where your patience with the breaker earlier will pay off; see.. you'll be whitebarred and they can't knock you back. At this point, just stun them and when the stun wears off, pop undying. Ofc, if the merc is smart, they could rocket out and then net, but when they rocket out, you simply mad dash or leap to them and you are back at square one. Oh yeah, you should use mad dash to negate at least one of their HSM+railshot combos (and you know exactly when that's gonna happen; after they use tracer for 3 times cause that builds up 5 stacks for railshot) so you probably can't afford to save mad dash for that rocket out i mentioned earlier, but very few mercs take the utility that prevents you from leaping after they rocket out so that's just a risk you have to take. To recap; merc wins cause of mezz/offheal and range during net. To counter it, be patient through hardstun, break the mezz and prevent healing and then stun - undying during net. Now.. with all that being said, a good merc will kill you even if you do all that perfectly simply cause of more offheals, comparable burst and okay defenses. But this will help against mercs that are not as good as you. Hope this helps.
  15. Oh yeah, I also wanted to say even tho we are bunch of 'numberfarmers' in a premade, they are pretty quick to run away if they somehow end up in a 1v1 against me. When that happens, I can't help to think how awkward must it be for them to know they are ****ed and that they'll inevitably have to run away, if they even can, and how awkward must it be for them to admit that to themselves. I've pointed that out in /say a few times; should've seen the *****torm.
  16. ^ This basically. Also, I love inflicting pain (read: dps) or saving people (heal, tank) and I am good at it. It's fun. I don't care about clicking on a stupid door or whatever and do it only if there is literally nothing else to do. Standing in a square in Proving grounds? Lol. I PvP to.. you know.. PvP, not SiS (stand in square). Also, I've read in this thread that those 'deathmatchers' need premade to deathmatch cause somehow they are just a bunch of bads. Well... I premade with my guildies and farm, but we noticed one thing: When you wipe everyone in mid, they tend not to come back. So we don't even bother with mid more often than not and just go straight up to their objective for some nice 4v6s. Nice thing about that is they always come back for more when we wipe them cause 'objectives guys!', lol. And, imagine, they hate us for it; we get called 'numberfarmers' as if that's supposed to make us feel bad (what?). Guess anyone would be butthurt if we scored 60+ kills each on them in something like Voidstar. When that happens to you, just ask yourself if those 'objectives' and 'victory' at the end of the match make you feel like a victor.
  17. 5.0 changes are not there cause Bioware hates us. It's there to make the game as alt unfriendly as possible. That way if no one is playing alts, no one is complaining about only one ('class') story; KOTFE and KOTET. This way devs don't have to explain to the higher-ups why people complain about the story which is supposedly their strong point. They didn't do it out of ignorance, they did it on purpose. Simple as that.

  19. In a 1vX situation where 1 is a good healer and X is the number of good dps, X=2 to kill the healer in any composition and environment. If 2 dps are not able to kill a (good) healer, they are not good dps and it's a l2p issue. A case can be made for killing a healer 1v1 in an open field as an arsenal merc cause it has range (so it's not susceptible to knockbacks and close range stuns) and it has offheals and nice burst ofc. I've done it as an arsenal merc. The rest of the classes can be kited/healed through even in an open field cause they are either melee with offheals (susceptible to knockbacks and stuns - mara, sin, even a PT, operative, jugg) or ranged with no offheals (susceptible to DoT - run out of range strategy - sniper) or simply lack burst (lightning sorc) or single target sustained (madness sorc).
  20. This is so true. So yeah, play all the classes to learn how to counter them. Only if there's a juggernaut on your team. And even then it's your job to leap in with him. Not necessarily, the only thing a mara doesn't stand a chance against is an operative and jugg tank in dps gear. And healers ofc. Everything else is fair game and comes down to skill.
