  1. Anybody else notice a significant increase in the Number of DO spawns there are in TDMs? I was in a game two days ago and saw THREE DO Spawns on a Mesas TDM. One on the Shipyard South, one on the end of the same shipyard WEST Side, and another was picked up by an enemy ship at the "rare Spawn" point next to there (behind the rock, next to the tall Pillar, close to the southern ship yards imp side spawn). I have noticed a lot more instances of MULTIPLE DO's being picked up at the start of a game as well.
  2. The most "META" Bar I can imagine assuming you already have a tensor on your team is: Burst Cluster T2 Scout for Dog Fighting Burst/Pod or Quad Pod T2 Scout for Jousting and Gunship Hunting T1 Bomber for Beacon and Mines T2 Bomber for Repairs and Railgun Drone T1 Gunship for Mine Sweeping and Sniping I pretty much never make this bar, with a few exceptions. I usually only keep one Bomber on my bar, and either a Tensor Scout equipped with EMP Missile (for the lulz) or a T2 Strike for Missile Fun. If I have a coordinated team, we'll coordinate bars also to make sure we have a Tensor Scout, a Beacon Bomber, and some Repairs somewhere.
  3. Sakov!! You are the model player when it comes to learning GSF. I am so encouraged by your learning, improvement, and your tenacity to keep at it. I wish all the new pilots approached the game as you do.
  4. I would urge you to try the other ships periodically. I actually just looked at some 3 year old screenies and literally found my first flash fire match 100% Stock and in the chat box I wrote "I can't stand flying this thing." Now it's my primary ship and I do love it. There are lots of options available to you, but don't discount the Blackbolt. It's actually extraordinarily effective as LC Pod, and only really differs from Quad Pod on a flash fire defensively, as FF gets a secondary shield component. And some minutiae of differences between LC and Quad. (I actually prefer LC, don't ask me why bc I really don't know why) Regarding Decimus and Imperium, they are both sluggish difficult to kill territory guards, but can make effective satellite assault vehicles as well. Check out the guide for builds, but overall, I would say that they are considerably less effective than other options you have available to you. I personally like the Quell over the Imperium because it gets an engine component and the non-stop missile harass of Concussion Cluster is endlessly entertaining for me. HLC is also available to you on Quell, which is easily second best Canon in the game behind BLC. Edit: HLC Shield piercing makes it extremely effective against gunships at low HP for quick killing and the longer range allows you to surprise attack them more easily. They're highly accurate at max range too, but don't try to dog fight with them. Jousting isn't bad though Just my 2c I hope you find what you're looking for.
  5. I for one am in agreement with this. Don't draw it out, it's like torture. It wastes everybody's time, the team holding their one sat that was practically handed to them on a silver platter is being pandered to. They are getting their "Participation Trophy" and told, "Great Job, have a tiny smidge of requisition." On the OTHER HAND, apparently some people really LIKE that, so I sometimes think that having the "Sympathy Satellite" is just okay. NOW, IN TDM: How do you handle that? Do you just fly to enemy lines and just hit X and AFK for 10-20 seconds and hope someone kills you? No, so why do that in Domination matches? Here's the other side of the coin in Domination Matches. If you have One team that TOTALLY OUT MATCHES another team, and YOU are on the receiving end, would you prefer: A) you get Pandered to - Have your Sympathy Satellite B) you get Triple Capped, it's over faster, go try to get your Demolisher Medal C) The other Team toys with you and lets you cap the sat, they take it back, the sat gets abandoned for re-capture, and so on and so forth. I find A and C to be insulting to the losing team. Sure, we'll all take this gesture differently, I guess nobody is wrong, but at the same time, not everyone can agree with any actions taken in such a situation.
  6. oh do I get to be the first person to post that Skill > Ships? I guess I do! Having an upgraded ship does make a big difference, but a lot of it is just gravy after a certain point. playing at the highest "tier" is far more about piloting, shooting accuracy, and proper use of skills. That Said: I've been pretty vocal lately about how a few upgrades make HUGE differences: Armor Penetration on weapons Area Damage on Ion Railgun Missile Break on Disto After that it's kind of all gravy
  7. Well they had the "cross-over" event with the Kuat Flashpoint and GSF, but I do agree it would be cool to see Ground PVP or maybe something like Kuat Mesas where it's atmosphere based, assaulting ground targets as objectives. It would subsequently affect how matches would go for Ground PVP. "Our Flak Cannons were taken out, and we do not have covering fire, we must take another route." etc.
  8. But EMP Missiles are OP!!! Said nobody ever😂😂
  9. this was easily one of my favorite events! :-D Let's also do another strike night one of these days. ;-) those are also tons of funs.
  10. Hail Hydrospanner! But in all seriousness, I really do think that the GSF Community is by and large a helpful community and I do strive to keep it and make it more so that way, particularly on JC where the new pilot community is now huge and interest seems to be at an all time high since GSF was first launched. I would like to see the rest of us trying to be helpful as well, especially if a player asks about components or ships, give an opinion, if just to give a response. Put yourself in their shoes: if you were a new pilot, confused and dazed by the XYZ Axes of disorienting vomitorium while getting blasted by vets, and you just want to know how to upgrade your epic Rapid Fire Lasers... Reaching out is kind of a big step at all for a lot of players. Not everybody learns well from guides, or even video tutorials. It's tough enough as it is, and if we want to grow the community, I agree that /GSF is one of the best avenues to go about it.
  11. In case you're reading Cewon, I will be on JC this afternoon let's group
  12. Hey Chew. Let's chat in game some more. See you out there. We can clarify some of this.
  13. Outside of Damage Overcharge, there are a few ways you can be killed very quickly while in any ship. Multiple mines Simultaneous rail gun shots from different attackers Rail gun fire followed quickly or simultaneously by a Blaster Shot Targeting Telemetry / Blaster Overcharge / Combat command combined with a Burst Laser Cannon shot (easily 2 shot a scout) Any combination of the above. Perceptually, players may not realize how many times they have been "Hit" because their UI and Sound will only indicate one red tick or sound of a sizzling Shield while you may have actually been hit four times. This is how gunships are frequently surprised by ships with a quad Pod build (especially as there is no lock on missile to scare them into barrel roll).
  14. Another suggestion for faster queue times will be to group. Especially for players with long history of play wit high requisition totals and game totals, getting games outside of groups is near impossible as they are basically the bottom of the prioritization list.
  15. You're most certainly witnising the exception and not the rule. GSF Players by far and wide are actually mostly helpful and usually willing to group you'll find
  16. WHELP either I'm going senile or I just had one of my components DESELECT BETWEEN Matches. Yep. One match I'm happily BLC killing DR Bombers no problem, next match, I can't even kill a Turret in less than 5 hits... Anybody see THIS one yet? Edit: Obviously, the de-selection happened to my BLC Blasters and Ignore Armor T4 Upgrade, but just in case there was confusion
  17. Yes this is an awful and long term bug that has afflicted us since the very start of GSF. Rechecking components selection is just part of the routine now. The same bug sometimes Dr-selects entire components, so you could fly into battle without blasters! Check everything before joining the queues..
  18. Does the player themselves need to submit the screenie? I have one of another player from a few months ago I'm pretty sure it puts them into top 2 or 3 category for multiple superlatives.
  19. I just wanna watch you fly. :-/ didn't mean to offend you, just telling you so that you could trouble shoot and perhaps find a way to get more viewers. I noticed you didn't have anybody else viewing at the time, I thought perhaps if your connection was poor that would be the reason for it.
  20. Kudos to Drakolich for stepping up to guide a new player into GSF! If you're on Jedi Covenant please join us in the GSF channel I'm there nightly! We are a friendly and helpful group on both sides. Looking forward to flying with you!
