  1. Yeah it seems like creating a free 60 starts you at lvl 1 and if you delete immediately you don't get it back so the delete/recreate fix doesn't work.

As it actually costs around 20 real life dollars would be kinda nice if they eventually get around to at least acknowledging the problem.

And the patch notes they were supposed to have posted this morning magically haven't been posted as of 8pm PDT tonight. How conveeeeeeeeeeeeenient.

  2. I hope customer service can help you. They've been pretty good with a similar issue I was having.

    Two things I've encountered:

    1. Do not level up the character.

This can be very hard not to do if you are a level 1 on fleet ;)

    2. Do not log onto other characters after deleting the failed level 60.

I've had the level 1 on fleet happen with both the free 60 and a purchased token. Each has taken me about 6 attempts to get the 60 to work. However I made sure to log out and back in of the game and not onto other characters.

Which sucks, because I can understand how the general inclination would be to check if anything wonky was going on elsewhere with your other toons. Or if logging in and out of things "fixed" the problem, which for other issues it often does. Good tip though.

  3. Yes, the PCs now do have a somewhat archaic look about them now. Tragically, there are still no good beards or long haircuts for men. It appears all men in the Old Republic era had medium length beards. I get not having long beards, those thing'll go through armour like a wampa through a petting zoo, but where's the Hans Gruber or Big Boss length (and for that matter, style)? The closest we've got is probably this awful thing, which makes the character look like they've tried to eat an entire bowl of Nutella blindfolded and without the use of their hands.

    Sorry. Tangent over. Agreed, though.

I just wanted to show you love for the "Hans Gruber" reference.

    "YIPPEE-KI-YAY....mmmmmuddah****ah!"

  4. I HOPE they fix the level 60 char creation problem. I cant make one even i have one free token since after bug that from 60 was downleveled to 2 and each time deleting an making new will be always level 1 :(

100% THIS. As of yet, it's not even on the "known bugs" list, even though it's not only affecting people creating their free level 60, but also folks who PAID for the level 60 token.

Every ticket response I got to the multiple support requests I put in for the issue were met with some BS boilerplate "you didn't meet the early access requirements" nonsense, when I haven't let my sub lapse for nearly 3 years solid. When I called in to account support they acknowledged that my sub hasn't lapsed, but of course said that they can't help with "in-game bugs", so they were just as useless.

The one response I got with a "workaround" response just said to "keep creating and deleting toons until it works".

    o.O

    >.<

    WHAT?!?!?!?!!?

JUST F*CKING FIX IT. Please and thank you. :D

  5. You think you can do better? Why don't you go apply for the job down there in Austin TX. Show Eric and them how it's done!!

You joke about it...I'd do it in a heartbeat. And while you're at it, they should hire me as a CSR too, because the fools they have answering support tickets are by and large, totally worthless. if they worked on CSR teams I worked on, they'd have been fired long ago for not even being able to utilize basic reading comprehension skills. And bot-responses for everything? Really? And they wonder why so many players are pissy?

For such a huge company (EA), they could throw a minuscule amount of resources towards their community management and CSR teams and get better results. But much like a major telecom...they're big enough to not bother, because they already have our $$...or at least that's the way it seems from the outside looking in.

  6. I want the black hole set, because I still think that is the best looking trooper armor ever. So glad I kept it on my high-level trooper, but I started a new one and would love to have it.

    http://tor-fashion.com/black-hole-demolishers-mk-1-pub/

Hopefully they have plans to add more of the old sets to the crates in the future.

I just wish the helmet didn't look totally stupid on the number 3 body type. Makes a troopers head look itty bitty teensy weensy on this massive body.

  7. The companion gear is missing ?

So I just got Yunn back on my trooper.

And the first thing I notice, is that he dosent have his proper gear on him ?

Where is all the gear he had on him when I launched the Expansion story ?

I have those "Item Recovery" mails.

But all that was in those where the gear he had on him when I first encountered him on Hoth.

Not the actual gear he on him when I left him.

The gear is neither in my mail now, or anywhere in my cargo.

    It is GONE.

I am now very much suspecting this is the case for every single of my old companions on every single of my toons...

There is neither a Item Recovery tab on Yunns info under N.

So, my question is, where is all that companion gear?

I'm *still* getting "item recovery" emails...well over a week into this expac. It'll arrive....slowly.

  8. Hey,

I purchased a Level 60 token on my Juggernaut and consumed it. But the character selection screen is showing that I don't have a Level 60 Character to create.

What do I do? The cartel coins are gone, the tokens gone and I got nothing :/

    Halp!

EDIT: Sorry, I thought I was on the Bug Report forum!

There are a half dozen threads about creating new 60's, either via token or just the freebie you got with the expac not working. I've been waiting since early access to redeem my free 60, but every time it starts as a level 1, and Bio-fail has done ZERO to assist. Their advice was "just delete and recreate until it works".

They get a giant FAIL for this issue.

  9. Why so offensive? I didn't say anything that could hurt your feelings.

I'm not a PVP player. Honestly, I've played PVP only couple times. Why? Because PVP in TOR is mediocre, and it's not only my opinion. Why is it mediocre? Because it was never a priority for BioWare. It should be. It's not an opinion, it's just logical. PVP is the only thing you can repeat that never gets boring. Why? Because it's never the same.

I can play dailies for as long as I have something to buy. But what if there is nothing that I want to buy?

I can play story for as long as there is something that I can discover. But what if there is nothing else that I can discover? Besides, not everyone wants to have more than one character.

If you want to wait one year to play 6 hours of story, fine. I don't want to. I want to play SW:TOR everyday, while waiting for a new story to come out. And I think there is nothing wrong about it.

And no, I won't play Battlefront. I don't like it.

    NO. Just, no.

  10. I'm sorry but your edit makes even less sense. I log onto my selling character many times every day to ensure I'm the lowest seller. If I'm not I cancel items and relist them. It only takes a few moments.

The gtn fluctuates so much in just a few minutes you almost have to if you play the gtn.

^ this. When I have tons of stuff to sell (typically just after buying a whole crapload of hypercrates), then I do EXACTLY that. I list high, then readjust prices as the market fluctuates. If an item is rare, oftentimes I can jack the prices up - if it's common, then I adjust low to undercut by just enough to get a sale but not so much I feel like I'm "losing" credits.

I tend to open all of my packs rather than sell them on GTN, but I have had plenty of times where I wound up with a whole mess of an item, so I list them all at once en masse - kinda like these folks seem to be doing.

While you may in fact be right that these people are scammers, you have zero proof, so this thread is pointless. I'm sure if there's a lot of CC Fraud going on, Bioware's finance team is dealing with chargebacks and disputes, and if it was super egregious they'd make damn sure they could stop the problem. I'd hazard a guess to say that it's not enough for them to go hogwild banning folks from the GTN.

  11. Isn't there a gear issue in GSF too I recall reading? Basically until you get to the point you have the best "gear" unlocked it's pointless playing and just expect to die a lot? After that it becomes functional again?

I remember reading this anyway, it may have changed.

Not at all the case. Sure, maxing out your ship gives you SOME advantage (as well it should), but it does not make up for skills on the stick. I for one prefer my KB/Mouse....been out of console playing so long that using controllers always feels weird to me.

  12. WOW!

That is the way to get people to PvP, with this king of help.

Now, if they remove expertise, I will definitely give this a try.... I am saving this in my favs!

    Thank you!!!

Actually, all of the "inc/snow1" crap was exactly what made me want to shun PVP even more.

And I can't believe there's a guide needed for simple capture the flag type mechanics. If people don't get the general gist, then they suck. End of story.

  13. Cute story.

It still wouldn't make a difference, if someone wants to troll, they will find a way to troll. It's been seen here many times. You're better off just ignoring them if they bother you that much.

There will always be forum trolls, no matter what level of moderation you do.

I think the word "moderation" has derailed what myself and the other cat were discussing, which is just more transparency from the Community team at EAWare. Will that still come with trolls? Absolutely - because as I noted previously, trolls exists everywhere. They are part and parcel with being alive and breathing. So rather than do everything to either avoid trolls or appease them, it'd be nice to see EAWare just ignore them and stick with a plan to remain consistent in the transparency/communications dept.

If the only reason for not communicating is because they get trolled or deal with a-holes, then god forbid any of these community snowflakes ever step out into the real world, or have to support an Enterprise level product. They'd get eaten alive.

  14. Thanks so far all. Anyone able to tell what the glaves are? :)

Gloves you mean? Not that I didn't already say what they are...but...

THE GLOVES AND BELT ARE BOTH SATELE SHAN's BELT AND GLOVES.

  15. I'm grinding the heroics planet after planet (In alphabetical order as they appear in the terminal on Odessen) so I often switch between lv24 to lv18 to lv42 to lv38 to whatever is the next. Level sync hasn't affected my experience in the slightest. So yes, you're just bad at the game if you find it hard to clear Tython or Korriban. Or even Belsavis, Voss and Corellia. And that's not being rude, that's stating the truth.

You could argue that a vanguard tank like my character in blue cristals armor from the Alliance vendor is a living tank who could withstand a building falling down on him/her, but I'm still pretty much overpowered and haven't encountered any problem with clearing heroic after heroic on different planets. Yes, on lv38+ planets and above, level sync makes things a bit slower, but especially on lv38- planets you still pretty much 1-2 hit everything. Even the rare champion mobs for the achievements are dead easy to kill on every planet I've been to so far. Only exception are the world bosses, but, thanks again to level sync, lower level planets are more populated for various reasons so finding a group is a lot easier than 2 weeks ago.

The immersion argument is meaningless, you're still among the strongest players if you visit a level synced planet while being at lv65. Just as above, if you find it hard, or annoying, to deal and take damage to and from other players/mobs, it's your problem and maybe you aren't actually "adjusting your attack pattern" as much as you think.

Oh, and RPers take themselves too seriously.

Basically what this cat had to say. ^
