  1. I always stop (errr x to coast to almost stop) turn for tighter turns (maybe its psychological), and then start moving at full speed again once facing where i want to go. -jams
  2. Congratulations! Now you just need to raise all the temporary companions (Darth Maarr, Empress Acina, etc) to rank 50. cheers.
  3. Well Yuun was bugged back in 2.x era so I assume since launch where some of the abilities were boosted by Willpower instead of Aim. I am guessing the ability is still boosted by willpower but since i can put willpower gear on the companion to test can't say for certain. I vaguely recall several other companions had similar issues, perhaps some other old timers can help remember which ones they were and we can figure out if they are under performing now. I believe parsec tracked companions. Google found this https://parsec.codeplex.com/ enjoy -jams
  4. Hello my question is for some Lethality / Ruffian professionals. Way back when you could reach 8 gcd's in the toxic blast / sanguinary shot window only with the temporary help of alacrity buffs. However now there finally is enough alacrity available to reach this permanently. Yes i know this probably is very sub optimal, but i am curious. Has anyone bothered trying it? What were your experiences? cheers -jams I ask because my lethality is semi-retired and i don't have the time to play it anymore and test for myself.
  5. Congratulations on flying this long and just encountering the powerup bug now. As near as I can tell the game glitches for whatever reason and it won't let you pickup which ever powerup it happens to be. I have circled around to fly though it again, circled around again to boost through it and finally circled around a last time to park myself on the glitched powerup and called for a teammate to come get it. My experience is that even when I can't pick up the powerup a teammate (or enemy) can, maybe others have a different experience. I have come to take it as the game deciding I need an additional handicap. cheers -jams edit: additionally for myself it always is just one bad powerup all the others function normally. Maybe I have had one go bad in the beginning and another go bad at the end of a match, but I can't recall any. I certainly have never had a whole string different of powerups not work back to back to back etc.
  6. Supreme Slicer: Lockout one enemy combatant from using one ship on their hanger for the duration of the match. Spinning the Roulette Wheel: all ships have all their components randomized from the available options.
  7. I can live with the different dot spread moves on my merc. My issue is the cost in using the abilities use them more than every so often and your heat gets blown. I would just have a small heat refund on a per enemy the dot is spread to and maybe make it costlier to use, to punish someone trying to use them vs single target more. Maybe that would make io merc too good against the ops bosses with lots of adds.
  8. If you really want to nail this down I could be a target for snare abuse. Usually I am on Aknife'or'two, harbinger impside. If you decide to get some tests in, send me a msg in game. -jams
  9. The medals requirements are on a per ship basis. So if you do say 14k dmg on a pike and 23k dmg on a flashfire, you will get the 10k dmg medal and the 20k dmg medal but not the 30k dmg medal because you did do 30k dmg in one ship. This is for each medal type as far as I know. Its been like this forever so I assume it was the intent. -jams
  10. I think the way it works is a speed snare stacks with a speed + turning snare, but two speed snares do not stack with each other and two of the turning snares don't stack. IE for the snares to stack they have to be different types. That's how it was explained to me and it seemed to be accurate when i played with it, but I never rigorously tested it to confirm. I could be wrong, or it could have changed. If someone else wants to test and confirm, great. -jams
  11. So long time for lurker here. The one thing I really wish swtor's pvp had was better options when queueing for matches. If you want to do pve content through the matchmaker you can selected which map in particular that you want as well as if you want a new game or are ok with backfilling. Where are those options for pvp? Furthermore if you are playing a pure pvp game say rocket league for example, look at the map / game options when setting up a match. GSF could easily have had an option for no powerups in tdm or powerups in dom as well as stock ships or only up to tier 3 upgrades. Or options to change the frequency of the powerups say low medium high. While you or I may argue about what is "good" or fun, some choice would be good imho. I imagine a small / medium / large map option for different match sizes could be implemented as well say 3-5 vs 3-5 , 8v8, and 12v12 (maybe extra large in addition). Being able to create games and invite people to them would be nice as well. Guess I will keep dreaming. Yes gsf is pvp minigame within an mmo and has a "small" population and queue dilution would likely be an issue. I just believe that pvp works better with more options. Namaloha, -jams
  12. So just curious are you all getting golds well distributed? Or is your experience like mine where i might get 2-3 golds in 5-8 across say 8 boxes and then get get 80 boxes of disintegration junk and then a gold or two in 5 boxes and then another bunch of boxes with junk, etc. Of course as soon as I upgrade a piece the next box i open gives me the piece i just upgraded. Anyways my main reached 300 and I have started saving all the boxes for when the next command xp tier comes out, no point in wasting those disintegration points.
  13. Just because you don't like the content doesn't let you get away with ignoring it. Pve got 1 flashpoint in 4.0 the star fortresses and yes i think they were terribad. In 5.0 pve got the uprisings which if i remember right were touted as being "improved flashpoints", if I remember right how many are there now 8?, and new operation bosses are on the way. Also it could be argued the the story chapters are more or less flashpoints as well they have veteran and master mode difficulties. pvp wise: Rishi arena and Quesh huttball are the most recent additions i can think of can't remember when those came out. Gsf hasn't had any official updates since sometime around 2.8, but it has had ninja broken components with what seems every other patch or so. Personally I was very surprised and delighted that gsf was included in the gcxp system and the unassembled component giveaway. --------------- Now, just because you feel that the new additions to pve content is not up to your liking doesn't let you ignore that new pve content is there and I would guess that you have not cleared in much of it in master mode. So lets add it up maybe 25 master mode chapters, and 8 or so master mode uprising. How much of that new content have you cleared? I have helped a friend to do 3 master chapters (and not bothered with any for myself) and have done maybe 4 or 5 veteran uprisings. There is new pve content for you to experience, way more new pve content than pvp content. I'm sorry but you can't ignore the pve content if you don't care for it, the new content is there for you. If you feel the rewards are underwhelming that is a different conversation. Enjoy. Oh and just in case someone stumbles across this post and doesn't know about it, you can invite group members into your chapters by right clicking your portrait and summoning them.
  14. No, because either everything will be the same or none will be op. The solution is to do class balances way more often so the OP class isn't OP for 1 year min, or 2-3 years if the adjustments are not enough to dethrone the OP champions.
  15. I am going to be the oddball here but for leveling either will work, Personally, I much prefer scrapper pupside and lethality impside, when i try ruffian and especially concealment it all feels wrong due to animations and sound effects i guess. Since i have done both and everyone else has done a good job covering concealment's advantages let me give some insight into leveling in lethality spec. Reasons lethality works for me and may work for you when leveling: 1. You can offheal a dps companion pretty well (if in concealment i use a healer comp). 2. Most mobs have so little hp you backstab lethal strike one, then corrosive assault the other one (ie you don't need to fully maximize your corrosive assaults). 3. Lethality can use your backstab err lethal strike in the face sooner than concealment can. 4. I feel less screwed when i can't stealth out because of the "boss" fight resetting. 5. The new aoe moves help a bunch and lethality as a bit more aoe than concealment (note for the dotspread to work it seams the darted target has to be behind the ones you want to spread to with the cone attack). As a side note when doing the kp cxp farm in the early days of 5.0 i was doing as much dmg as anyone in the raidgroup consisting of 2 mercs, 1 sniper, and myself in lethality as the dps. Also if you do pvp, gsf, and maybe the occasional fp when leveling you can skip all the kill a bagillion(sp?) of mobs sidequests. When doing mainquest only I skip all the trash mobs i can and (ab)use the combat stealth right before the inevitable phase with a boss inside. So it doesn't matter much if concealment might be a little better at dealing with the adds that i am going to try my best to skip. The only caveat is that when leveling you will by no means be using the rotation you would be using on a raidboss. You can always try one and respec if you don't like your choice. Hope you have lots of fun.
