  1. Did you queue and do the FP through group finder and did you have all options checked? There's a 'daily' for Group Finder - ie once a day. The first time you did it you got the normal boss drop comms plus the 10 group finder 'daily' comms. If you would have waited one day before running it the second time you would have got the additional 10 for the dailys... that's assuming you have all available options checked. Uncheck even one and you aren't eligible for the daily.
  2. As a tank you should focus on damage mitigation (defense, shield, absorption) over both endurance and strength. If one of those mods has an option of strength, willpower, or aim, go for the strength one as a guardian. Also when you start augmenting your gear, again go with damage mitigation augments. Don't go with endurance augments as they don't have any damage mitigation stats. Here's a guide on endgame Guardian Tanking. http://dulfy.net/2014/01/07/swtor-defense-guardian-tanking-class-guide/ Notice in the "Gearing & Stats Priority" section they don't mention endurance or strength at all. That being said, at your level you don't need to worry too much about BiS (best in slot) mods. Until you get into hard mode FPs and higher just having decent gear is fine and will get you through. If you can get them that's great. But I would focus more on leveling than having the perfect gear at your level.
  3. 1 to 50 has been done in 9 hours: But it takes a partner that's high level and can kill things fast.
  4. This is my experience also. Though I'm usually on my healer when they do decide to attack, and it's me they burn down instead of the tank. I almost always do this in PuG's. Sometimes you get dps that burn down the adds as soon as they appear. Sometimes you get dps that ignore the adds even as they are destroying my healer. And on a rare occasion you get the smart dps that only attack the adds if they start attacking first.
  5. Do you have a subscription and she does not? Or you have unlocked some legacy leveling boosts and she hasn't? Have you used an exp boost and she hasn't? If everything is exactly the same for both of you, ie you haven't done anything she hasn't, that's the only thing I can think of.
  6. If I were to farm classic comms this is what I'd do: 1. Find a Priority Terminal and get the Weekly that gives it's reward for any Flash Point. 2. Get the Priority Terminal Daily for level 50 HM FPs. 3. Queue up for level 50 HM FPs in Group Finder. 4. While waiting on GF go to Black Hole and do the weekly (which requires doing the dailies). 5. Once finished with Black Hole go to Section X and do the weekly. After all the weeklies are done repeat the following dailies: 1. GF Level 50 HM FP with the Priority Terminal Daily for it. 2. Dailies (and if possible Heroics) on Ilum/Belsavis/Black Hole/Section X Note: if you can get into any Ops groups, do that instead of the above. It's a better way to get set bonus gear. But being solo, the above is probably the 'easiest' way.
  7. The only set bonuses you can get with commendations bought gear is level 50 gear (mod rating 61). Those are bought with classic comms. You get classic comms by doing the black hole & section x dailies and weeklies and level 50 HM FPs. There are a few more options - listed in dulfy's guide linked below. All comm bought items after classic comms do NOT have set bonuses. Those set bonuses must be obtained by running Ops and getting token drops. 8. When I get the black text I just tilt mine sideways. When it's in landscape mode instead of portrait the black text is easy to see. To the OP, sorry I have no experience with the iOS version. The Android version works fine.
  9. On top of the mini-map is an 'exit area' button when in areas like that.
  10. Yes it's worth it if you are trying to get to 10,000 affection and you have the credits. It's cheaper doing that than buying off the GTN. I'm not sure how that compares to the crew skills that get companion gifts though.
  11. That's what I did. I didn't remember the exact numbers though. But I used rank 1 gifts until they didn't give affection gains, then rank2 until they didn't... So rank 1 until 6,000, rank 2 until 8,000. Do companion dialog/quests. Then buy the rest off the GTN - unless you have a crafter you can get them from.
  12. Does the icon of the Bound emote look like the guy is taking a dump to anybody else, or is it just me? To me, it looks like he's sitting on a little toilet trying to squeeze one out
  13. I hope you are talking a boost to damage mitigating stats and not endurance/health... tank augments should be damage mitigating which do not provide endurance. ~32k health sound about right to me for a mix of 66/69 if the mods are correct for tanking. Which the mods should be focused on damage mitigating stats and not on endurance.
  14. I maxed my companions affection with first gifts from the vendor on the fleet. At, I think 8,000, those won't give gains anymore. When that happens do your companion conversations/quests. That took me to over 9,000. For the rest I bought gifts off the GTN. Buying blue level 5 gifts I think took 4 or 5 to max my affection. All total took me about an hour time and somewhere around 200k credits.
  15. I understand that. I have a level 55 healer and a tank both decked out in '72' gear bought with comms. And in both cases I've had to buy extra gear with the correct stats to replace mods and/or enhancements in gear with not so good stats. But every piece of comms bought 'tanking' gear has at least one damage mitigating stat/modification. The tank I'm referring to had had some gear with 0 damage mitigating stats. The rest of his gear only had one damage mitigating stat. And this was in a level 55 HM FP.
  16. wow, that's a great idea. If I can't sell it on the GTN for a good amount, I'm going to have to start doing that.
  17. Last weekend I queued for the lvl 55 HM FPs on my healer. The tank had ~35k hit points, so I thought all was good... until after the first trash mob pull. I had to throw out a lot more healing than I should have. So I checked his gear. Any gear that actually had defense stats also had alacrity or accuracy - so only one defense stat. And some of his gear didn't have ANY defense mods in it. And I see that quite a bit when queuing on my healer.
  18. Why not have force lightning (and possibly other abilities) tied to the color crystal in the light sabre or weapon you are wielding?
  19. Dulfy has a pretty good article for beginning players. If you hare having issues and wan to get better, I'd give it a look. http://dulfy.net/2013/11/15/swtor-galactic-starfighter-new-player-guide/ While as the above posters have stated, practice does help. But if you don't know what everything on the hud is. Or if you aren't using all your abilities, like switching power conversion from engines (F3) to weapons (F1) at the right time. Or using your abilities that are on cooldowns (keys 1-4). Or how to use your afterburners (space bar). You'll probably still have issues even with practice and some upgrades. So learn the hud, what abilities you have and when to use them, and then with some practice you'll get better.
  20. You told them up front you've never done it before... they didn't give any advice on the pull... it's their own fault. That is assuming they knew what to do. If nobody did know, then it's a learning experience for everybody. The player saying that to you is just being a jerk and I'd just ignore them. As for dps pulling before I do when I'm tanking, I usually give them one warning asking them not to pull before I do. And explain it's easier for me to get aggro and hold it when I do the pulling. That alone is usually enough. On the rare occasion they don't listen, I give them a second warning telling them next time they pull I'm not pulling aggro from them and hope the healer can keep up with the healing.
  21. That's correct. At level 55 you can queue for level 55 HM FPs, level 50 HM FPs, and/or the Tactical FPs (the two Czerka FPs and KDY). You can queue for all 3 groups or any combination of them. They are separate check boxes in GF. You can still do SM FP's when you are 55. You just can't go through GF. You'll have to enter them normally.
  22. The False Emperor and Foundry HM don't have a lot of mechanics you have to know about as a tank. If you are comfortable tanking in general, give it a go. I would let the group know at the start though that you aren't familiar with the FP's. Unless they are being total jerks, they'll let you know when you come to anything specific you'll need to know.
