  1. Not sure if this is the correct forum as topics relating are all over the forums, but... Pretty much I'm having buyer's remorse over a character transfer I did. I transferred to a PvP server as a friend was on it, but after transferring I realized that in all reality we'd never play that much together. I'm not a fan of PvP servers. I'd delete the character and restart, but I've spent money on said character and much rather don't want to do that. Also, I do not have this free transfer that others seem to have. My question: Is there a way to do a reverse transfer to where I don't have to wait 3 days and won't cost 1800 cartel points just to undo my purchase? If not, well, I suppose that sucks for me and I'll live with it. If that's the case, I just kinda wish there was a note somewhere that says to bring a character back to their original server would be an additional charge or something.
  2. If there's one thing I want to get all of, it's datacrons. I don't care if it's a +3 cunning for a sith inq, I want it. Problem is, from about the third planet on, the way to get most datacrons it seems so far is to platform jump. I hit jump too soon and I under jump and fall and take massive damage, I jump too late and either I over jump the platform, or, more often, my character does this pelvic thrust move and doesn't jump at all and I then fall off the ledge and take massive fall damage. I'd be fine with that, but the current jumping mechanic is just awful and makes something that should be a challenge into something that's just frustrating. Since I know the jumping mechanic won't ever be fixed on that end, why not just add in the double jump? Here's my idea: *It would allow you to jump 1.5x-2x your character's height rather than just the 1x it current is *All classes get the ability *If used, it allows for you trajectory to be changed so, in essence, you can go the opposite direction if needed *If used before hitting ground, it would drop fall damage 25%-50% *Since cool downs are the love child of MMOs, give it like a 30 second cool down if you must It makes sense in this universe since all force users seem to be able to use force jump in SW lore letting them jump a lot higher than normal people. A bounty hunter could use his rocket boosters to boost up. Imp Agents and Smugglers would have a scramble like action (Tomb Raider's comes to mind in the visual department). Rep troopers would use a grapple and pull themselves up (the grapple would just shoot in the air like spider-mans webs used to) It wouldn't be hard to implement such a thing at all.
  3. I tried this myself but it didn't work. it was one of the first things I tried. Maybe it will work for some, just didn't for me nor a lot of others who've had similar problems. I would say for anyone to try this first though, before using my link just in case it's that simple.
  4. This has been my personal friend when finding datacrons. I'd never have thought I'd have to use the poor mechanics of the jumping system in this game to get at datacrons, but Nar Shadaa completely proved me wrong. There's an IGN guide which has a lovely interactive map of every world with notable things marked on each of them including even item crafting items' general spawn areas. If I'm not mistaken, it also contains lore object locations but I haven't decided to look for those yet.
  5. I'll post this link again and it fixed a 311 error I got as well as hang ups at the log in screen I was getting after trying some of the trouble shooting guides... http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=618672 After some digging, I came across it and it helped with me. I noticed when I was following the instructions I didn't have any of the folders that it said to delete at the start of it. I wonder if that is the problem of it all? Anyway, I got it working for me, though once again, i had the error code 311 which said my internet failed (despite it working fine enough to get around) so I don't know if it will help you. EDIT: since I'm still patching I don't know if I'm going to run in to further errors, but it is letting me patch right now. I've seen other people saying they had problems at asset 114 or something like that (I'm on 112 still). I'll let ya know if I get a further problem.
  6. I was having this problem until I found another thread from about oh.. 3 weeks ago. it would give me the 311 error and after trying what the troubleshooting guides said, it started locking up at the log in screen. More or less, maybe I did something wrong with the trouble shooting guides, but it seemed like it made my problems worse. Anyway, the thread is this one: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=618672 Now I will say, there's a post in there from support that says you shouldn't download things from places other than the launcher, but this post fixed my 311 problem and the fact that it was locking up at the log in screen. it's simple and takes 5-10 minutes. EDIT: since I'm still patching I don't know if I'm going to run in to further errors, but it is letting me patch right now. I've seen other people saying they had problems at asset 114 or something like that (I'm on 112 still). I'll let ya know if I get a further problem. EDIT 2: It patched, but now it's trying to repair problems. At first it was 15 files, then that finished and it scanned again, now it's at 62 files it needs to fix...
  7. Wasn't this part of the concept with... what was that... Star Wars Galaxies? It's a thought but in this type of game it would be very pointless and seem like they're just trying desperate things to make money. I will admit running around on planets for some reason made me want to re-instal Second Life and look at what has changed in that game if it's still even running.
  8. Well, you could always do a method I've done when coming up with any fantasy/sci-fi names: Look around where ever your computer is and pick 2-3 objects at random. Simply splice them together in various ways or use only the letters present to make something up. Scissors and a window, say, could become RossDoscin. Sometimes takes a moment to connect things, but hey, it's usually original and since it's Star Wars, you can have something crazily named and it would still fit (See: Vrblthers). Or you could just be silly and mash your keyboard (which it looks like they did with whoever came up with Vrblthers) and say something like Rvgeauwl and be all "That's pronounced RavageAzul!"
