  1. What *happens*? Does the launcher just sit there? Does the game crash with one of those "this program has encountered a problem blah blah blah" messages? What? Only you (and people in your home) can see what happens, so you have to tell us what you see.
  2. No. It was when 4.0 released. Well, OK, yes it was less than five years ago, because four and a half is, indeed, less than five. (October 2015... How time flies when you're having fun.) Here's my first post on the subject, on 21 October 2015, just after 4.0 launched: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=843954
  3. OK, but what is actually happening? Give us more information, and we may be able to help you, but as it is, all you've really said is, "Something bad is happening," which isn't even *close* to enough information.
  4. As noted: check to make sure that you really are Dark V. Dark V is not "my character has 100K Dark Points", but instead, "My character has 100K Dark points and *no* Light points." If you are at 100K Dark and not-zero light, continue earning dark points to "burn off" the light points.
  5. Huh. OK. That's odd. I know that skin tones *look* very different in the two sides on character creation for start-at-1, but if you look on the start-at-60 screen, they are the same.
  6. Not at the moment, although there are persistent rumours that it might happen in later story content.
  7. I think it accumulates, but while there's a double XP event, it isn't used.
  8. So far, I believe there are three sets like this: * Resort Swimwear (two chest pieces) * Dashing Rogue (two chest pieces) * Darth Malgus (two helmets - a full-face mask and a breath-mask that leaves the eyes, upper cheeks and forehead visible)
  9. DISCLAIMER/CAVEAT: What I'm about to describe applies *only* on Iokath. On Iokath, the various members of the group must be supporting the same side (Imp/Pub). Go to the big terminal in the middle of the Alliance base (at the end of the short corridor where you first meet Lana in the WoI story) and choose the same side as your guildies. DISCLAIMER/CAVEAT: The above description applies *only* on Iokath.
  10. This one I can answer. They are called the "Nightsisters", and they come from, er, Dathomir. We don't see them in the game because their organisation arises about six hundred years before the films, which puts them three thousand years in the game's future. The outfit we see here is a moderately grotesque anachronism, although less grotesque than the vented lightsabre that looks like the one seen in TFA/TLJ/RoS. They originally appeared in some of the pre-Disney comic books, I believe. In effect, all that material you see on those wikis comes from the huge morass of novels, comic books, TV series and one-offs, etc. that is commonly called the "EU" = Extended Universe. EDIT: on Wookieepedia, look near the bottom of each page, and you'll find citations showing where the information came from. On other wikis, you might or might not find an equivalent.
  11. One of the core themes that has fuelled the seven-year existence of "The Weird People you meet in Group Finder". http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=633655
  12. There's also one in the Galactic Market section of the Fleet, in the clockwise-most bay on the outer edge.
  13. Other possibilities: * You've opened a stronghold (or two, and in any event more than he has), so you're getting more Conquest points and therefore more Conquest objectives and therefore more XP. * You're in a guild and he isn't, or you're in different guilds and his is smaller, and therefore has a smaller XP bonus.
  14. They're called "guilds" here rather than "clans", but of course there are. What *you* need to do is tell the world a bit more about yourself, at least: * Which server you play on. * What kinds of times of day (including time zone) you play. * What kinds of activities you want to do. As for your current character: If you're playing DPS, Vengeance is probably your best bet for a spec for now.
  15. They won't do that. They might make a new brighter-pink alonside it, but they won't change the existing one, because there will be someone, probably many someones, who like it the way it is. Er, e.g. me. I use that colour (OK, on a Cyborg, but it's the same colour as on humans), and I like it the way it is. If you're seeing that difference in the character-creation screen for start-at-1 characters, don't forget that the colour of the lighting is different on the two sides.(1) If you want to compare Imp/Pub colours, use the Start-at-60 option, which is the same lighting for both sides. The snark there is unjustified. The RP community is why we even have e.g. the /dig emote. That's a request that pops up from time to time. I have no firm opinion either way, except to note that it *would* cause an increase in moderation and /report requests because of ... stuff, let's say, in people's bio pages. (1) Pubside it is warmer / a bit more orange and not as bright, or if you turn it around, on Impside it is colder/bluer and brighter. That's why Impside start-at-1s look paler while you are trying to create them than Pubsiders do. They aren't, but they look it because of the light.
  16. It might be a semi-deserter lockout, preventing people from being requeued into the same match they just left. If there are only enough people to supply one match, that's the same thing as a *full* deserter lockout, but being repeatedly inserted into the match I just left back in the day was pretty frustrating. I left ==> that match for a reason, so there's nothing to be gained by putting me back into it.
  17. Check the free space on the drive that contains your temporary files directory, which is normally in your user profile (so normally in C:\Users\...)
  18. Solo mode still has the drops. And of course this lack of drops is a big part of why people want the soloable H2/Vet mode to be made soloable(1) - they cannot find groups because nobody wants to run these fairly timeconsuming things for no loot. (1) Sorry for the snark here. I'm with you that they are eminently soloable (and in lower gear than 306 - I did Nar Shaddaa Vet the other day on a 75 TK Sage with 304s and no set bonus and no tactical and a rank 23 Nadia), and it makes my teeth itch when people say they want them made soloable.
  19. Um. No. You're wrong there, too, or at least, if stuff disappears like that, there is something seriously wrong, and you should be pursuiing it with Customer Service and/or any person you live with who knows your account details. I mentioned the cargo hold precisely because it *doesn't* do what you described. There are three kinds of non-inventory storage: * Cargo Hold. This is private to the character, so if e.g. Kylath puts something in, Xalari cannot see it. * Legacy Storage. This is private to your legacy. Stuff in here is visible on all characters of your account *on this server*. If Kylath puts something in here, Xalari can take it out. Character-bound stuff cannot be put in here. * Guild Bank. This is private to your guild. If you put something in here, other players in your guild can take it out. You cannot put character-bound or legacy-bound stuff in here. If you go on the Fleet, you'll see the storage kiosks - Cargo Hold is green, Legacy Storage is yellow, and Guild Banks are purple. If you've played GW2, the "bank" there is like Legacy Storage in SWTOR with the additional feature that you can store character-bound items in the GW2 bank, but not in SWTOR's Legacy Storage.
  20. Ah. OK. Then it has a level-dependent availability.
  21. Except that it *isn't* Valkorion's legacy. It's legacy. Yes, they are the same entity, but in a "the same ... and not the same"(1) kind of way. The legacy we're referrng to was created long, long, long before their time, long, indeed before the original Valkorion ("a great warrior") was born. (1) See "The Man Who Would Be King" (film).
  22. If by "start the storyline" you mean "start KotFE", no, it's totally unrelated to that. Some companions that aren't "class story" companions will join you after you begin KotFE or later, and some of them don't have gear-appearance slots, but the most important ones do. Any "returning" class companion remains as dressable as before.
  23. I gave up on Photobucket ages ago, and they email me once a week to tell me that my pictures are in violation of the terms of service because the free service no longer includes hosting(1). These days I use imgur.com. (1) If that's the case, then what exactly is the point of it even existing?
  24. Pretty much this. Consider the "Dark Advisor" set, which looks kinda sorta like what the dark advisor's(1) "grey sack"(2) would look like if you removed the sack-cloth bits. In the same vein, Wicked Huntress looks kinda sorta like Vaylin's armour during KotFE. (1) Blondie. Miss Spooky Eyes. Lana Beniko herself. Read her page in the Companions and Contacts panel. (2) Curiously, if you remove Lana's provided "Classic" customization object, the armour she wears instead (by default) looks *exactly* like the Dark Advisor set.
  25. The Eternal Championship is probably not a good idea to add this to, since it's a bit *too* spammable, especially the first few rounds. That was what I was thinking of.
