  1. When I created this thread, I never wanted this to be a place of fighting and arguments. All you of guys just chill. I have respect for each and every one of you. So smile dudes and dudettes!
  2. Its actually nice doing domination matches without multiple bombers wrecking all the fun. Maybe strike night could go a step further and show the devs bombers need some changing around. Fighters roaring around sats, lightning up the stars with lasers, torpedoes and missiles streaking across, now that is fun.
  3. I think strike night was a success imo. Most people were flying their strikes. I had a good laugh when people flying gunships and bombers got dog piled throughout the match. For the most part they were in check. Seen a few scouts, but no big deal really. I'm down for this being weekly. I can do probably just about any night. Honestly thought strike night was going to get trolled, but kudos for it not happening. There were more explosions last night than in a Michael Bay movie. In fact he'd be envious of strike night. And thanks to Shayd for putting this thing together. Maybe we could do a scout night too one day. That would be fun!
  4. I want to give a shout out to the repubs that stuck around during the imp premade show last night. I know it was definitely a rough time, but glad to see a few of you stuck around. Keep at it, keep flying, have to be tough as a nail sometimes no matter the out come.

  8. I'm going to have to disagree with blcs needed on gunships. I'd rather have heavy lasers or quads. Personally, I've tried these lots of times when enemies were right on me and only 2/10 times did they actually hit something. I'd rather shoot them in the face with a slug which I've done on a few occasions. If I'm not sure on a shot that close then its time to scoot away and reposition. I think if they took 100% armor piercing away from blcs that should balance them some.
  9. Ditto. I think we all have those matches that we could fling our computers out the door and such. Suck it up and move on to the next match. If you're not finishing matches, you're not upgrading your ships.

  11. Shout outs to teams last night. There were some close matches which I really enjoyed. I don't know who some of you imp guys are, but you are pretty good.

  13. I thought Delphi just got bored and was just doing dailies and such. I saw Rainous awhile back but didn't know if he was coming back or just doing occasional. Kvikorma I'd assure you would be just fine.

  15. Yeah, I miss seeing a lot of the aces around. Nailin and Kivikorma were hands down the two best pilots on the server. Both could turn around a match like nothing. Both of them on the same team, you lost period. Delphi was the golden standard of gunships and honestly she's still the best. She has a way of escaping her attackers. She was so feared that her name was automatically called out at the beginning of matches to contain her. Add Rainous and Boudica(think that was her name) to the mix and you had a trio of devastating gunships that cut you down. Knickers was a great pilot. Man could he fly scouts/strikes. I personally was like 4/60(seems like it anyways) against him. Tough to kill and when he wanted to hunt you down he'd get you. I don't think everyone left because of the bombers. Some went to play other games, some just got bored with gsf. If all these guys returned it would be awesome, but don't know if they will.
  16. For newer folks, here's what I think seems to be most lacking for domination matches. 1. Leaving sats defenseless. 2. When someone calls out sat in trouble, no one is scrambling to assist. 3. People letting themselves be drawn off sats and chasing kills rather than defending sats. 4. Lack of people using gunships when 1 or more bombers in play. Here's for Death Match: 1. People flying into webs of gunships and mines instead of backing off and drawing them toward you. 2. Not protecting your gunships/bombers(See this way too often, if they're being chased down and killed they can't help you win.) 3. Not changing spawn points when enemy is trying to camp at spawn. This is an honest opinion of mine. I'm not criticizing, I just want to help newer guys. If you guys can train these guys up to quality pilots more power to you. I'm pulling for you. Also, I want to address people constantly complaining about gunships and bombers in ops gsf chat. Complaining isn't going to get you anywhere. We've all dealt with gunship and bomber webs. Yes it does suck, but go out there and do as much damage as you can. Don't let number of kills/dam/assists bother you. In the end its all about the "W." I'm being perfectly honest by telling you I don't care rather I get 1 kill or 10. There's ways to contribute. If you get people to chase you to help your teammates is good, if you die multiple times trying to hound a sat to keep enemy pilots there, etc all contributes. There's no medals or stats for it, but at least you can say you did your job. Imp pilots don't give up! When I started my to kill/death ratio was atrocious and it took me awhile to get the hang of things. Try each ship out and see which suits your style and go from there. Anyways peace out folks.
  17. Had some good matches with imps. Don't remember names, but good fun. Btw, Dedi, you're pretty annoying sometimes. You're like a fly that keeps buzzing me that I can seem to swat.

  20. You're welcome. I have to admit I've been a little lazy at times keeping it updated though. lol There's lots of great pilots on this server. I've heard more are coming over to Ebon Hawk for gsf so that's pretty cool. Competition has been really good for the most part.
  21. I think gunships bring another element into space combat. There should be more than just "fighters." Gunships to me are like modern submarines. They pack a big punch and have to be sneaky with their targeting. Submarines are squishy vessels and can't take much of hit before they're sunk. There's really no changing slugs currently without making them useless. Change damage, useless, many shots to take down something. Scouts and strikes will murder you before you get them. Change range, useless, scouts and strikes close before you get a shot off and you're dead. If you exchange damage for quicker recharge, same thing happens. Strikes and scouts will mow you down before you kill them. I think I've mentioned this argument a lot myself. Slugs are balanced right now. Needing 25% charge to fire off. Good. Ions are fixed on charge. As a gunship pilot myself, I won't mind ions going to single target and heck take my blcs away too. We're not close range ships anyways. I would like the devs to do something with fortress shields and interdiction drives. Right now they're pretty useless components. Would like to have some more roll out options. With gunships there's maybe 2 roll options to take. There's the gunships with feedback and then the rest with distortion fields. Wouldn't mind seeing another engine option like retros or something like that.
  22. Sounds like its a team coordination issue. If gunships are causing that much of a problem, they need to be aware of the range they're at and a couple of scouts/strikes need to peel off and chase them.
  23. Agree with nerfs to blc, but slug railgun? No. Slug railgun is fine the way it is. Ion railgun I assume is going to get its area effect nerfed eventually. You don't want something that's suppose to do sniping damage take 5-7 hits to kill something with the speed other ships can close in to kill you fast. With the frail defenses of gunships, the slug is balanced to it.
