  1. Even though hard copy game time cards are scarce you can still buy a digital sixty day game time code on Amazon. And if you don't want to use your credit card on Amazon, you can use an Amazon gift card.
  2. I'm afraid that Greg Zeschuk took all the beer with him when he left Bioware.
  3. I didn't think the F2P experience was all that horrible - It gave me an idea of what the game was like, and it was enough to make me want to start subscribing. However, I did view it as more of a trial/demo of the game. It is highly likely I never would have even tried this game if it wasn't for the F2P model.
  4. This new whisper thing the gold spammers are doing is annoying and intrusive. Beyond hitting "report spam" and "ignore" there isn't a lot we can do about it in game. That being said, I welcome every new thread on this topic.
  5. Maybe they do and maybe they don't but every little bit of documentation helps. My only real point is folks were being too hard on the OP because I have heard a lot worse suggestions than this.
  6. I think you are being too hard on the OP. Also, with this new whisper thing the gold spammers are doing I think screen shots would be useful to demonstrate the extent of the problem.
  7. I just had the same problem. I wouldn't panic about it too much; this sort of thing has happened before for a lot of people a couple of years ago. Plus if its happening to more than one person, it is likely something on their end, not yours. I'm just mildly annoyed, since one of my regular game times is the one hour I have before leaving for work, and I just lost that because the OTP never showed up.
  8. Well thank you for your $15.00, even if you are not playing. In your own way you are continuing to support the game. For that I am sure EA thanks you.
  9. Taking the OP's story at face value, the guild officer was on a power trip and handled the situation wrong. That being said, that doesn't exonerate the OP from any wrong doing. My guild was stupid enough to make me an officer. We strive to find a balance between keeping a loose and casual atmosphere within the guild and maintaining some degree of structure within the guild. I personally have no problem with a "no profanity" rule, we don't have one, but it's not like we are dropping "F-bombs" every second word. This response to the officers concerns over profanity is very similar to form users telling people "if you don't like it leave" when expressing concerns over glitches in the game and EA business practices. The people in the forums that take this position are usually trolls who are trying to upset people. Telling someone if it bothers you that much turn on the profanity filter is thoughtless and confrontational and basically a brush off, telling them to deal with it. The OP doesn't get a free pass for his thoughtlessness just because the guild officer was on a power trip. The OP then proceeds to make a bad situation worse by playing the "you think you are better than me" card, escalating the confrontation. Then again, another viewpoint is this: Maybe it wasn't even a "power trip." Perhaps the guild officer just lost his temper when the OP butted in as he was trying to enforce a guild rule. Bottom line, BOTH sides are wrong here.
  10. That's just awesome. I'm glad the only part of the quest I had completed was The Theoretika and I hadn't actually started collecting parts. Feel bad for the folks that had collected most of the parts and have to start from scratch.
  11. The mob density on Makeb can definitely become tedious. I never finished Makeb with my Jedi Sentinel. Once I got my Jedi Shadow to max level I managed to get through Makeb, mostly thanks to stealth.
  12. Would it be possible for someone to translate the OP's posts so I could understand what the hell he's talking about.
  13. I too would like to take this opportunity to thank you Bioware for making Rise of the Hutt Cartel free to new subscribers and giving people who already own RotC a neato title. Of course, I would be remiss in neglecting to thank Bioware for those $20.00 dye packs. Seriously, these moves have generated some of the most entertaining forum posts I have seen in months. I really feel like I am getting the most for my entertainment dollar. So once again, thank you Bioware, I mean it!!!
  14. I never have been an MMO person. I started playing SWTOR purely on a whim as I was a long time fan of classic Bioware and Knights of the Old Republic. Ended up liking SWTOR more than I expected so I subscribed and stuck around. Not really much else in the MMO world that I am interested in. Usually doing single player games when I am not playing SWTOR.
  15. I send crafted items from character to character all the time. A legacy bank is a good idea.
  16. I get the logic of what the OP is saying -- a former subscriber being allowed limited access to post in the forums, perhaps just the General Forum for example. However, there is a point to be made in the above post. The forums have a generally negative vibe to begin with. I can only imagine how much more negative it would get if disgruntled former subscribers have continued access to post.
  17. I tend to agree on how overrated Boba Fett is. It was really how the action figure was marketed by Kenner in the early 80's that made Boba Fett so popular. It wasn't anything special about the character himself.
  18. Leaving aside whether or not the OP is trolling or playing his class "wrong" I've leveled a Jedi Sentinel and a Jedi Shadow to max level and I found that I had a far easier time leveling the Jedi Shadow. One glaring example, I found the final boss battle in the Jedi Knight story to be extremely difficult (I don't want to admit how many times it took me to win). On the other hand I did quite well with the final boss in the Jedi Consular story and if had been paying better attention and hit the interrupt when the boss's one shot kill power was activated it would have only took me one try.
  19. Opening up the forums to F2P players would be a disaster. As subscribers we enjoy intelligent and reasonable discussions, particularly in the general forum. By allowing F2P players to post the forums would deteriorate into a cesspool of flaming, trolling baseless whining and the like. We cannot allow that.
  20. I was F2P for two weeks. Prior to reading this thread, I just thought I was evaluating the game. However, thanks to this thread I have learned that during that two weeks I was the scum of the earth, the lowest of the low, lower than dirt, pond-scum of the lowest form. The fact that I never did a flashpoint or never grouped up with anyone while I was F2P excuses nothing. I offer my sincerest apologies to all long time subscribers for being F2P for two weeks. This is a stain on my soul that I must forever live with. I have to look in the mirror every day knowing that I was F2P and that I will never be forgiven.
  21. I don't hate it or anything but I have been finding I would rather level up alts rather then play through Makeb most of the time.
  22. There have been at least three times over the last week that I had to wait a half hour or more for the one time password to be sent. Not whining -- just stating a fact.
  23. Agree on the loot ninja sentiment -- if someone swoops in and clicks on the mission objective while you are fighting the mob, then yeah that's not cool. If you get the first hit and someone helps you then they are not stealing your kill. The only thing I will say, is that if I fight I gold level enemy, I am sometimes disappointed if someone jumps in and helps, mostly because I wanted to see if I could take him down myself. If the intentions were good, no need to be upset, however.
  24. So I am going along soloing a Heroic 2+ mission. Since I was somewhat over-leveled for it, no need for a group. As I'm in the area a random group invite pops up. No biggie, just decline and go about my business. Then it pops up again from the same guy, OK decline again. Then it pops up a THIRD time, decline a third time -- then a FORTH time -- at which time I just logged out of the game (I suppose I could have put the guy on ignore, which I probably should have done). You would think he would have gotten the hint after the second decline (he probably should have gotten the hint after the first one, but I am being generous) Yes I know there was really no point to this story but I found the incident mildly annoying and just wanted to post a short rant about it. Apologies for taking up your time.
  25. WAIT, you mean the game can make me a sandwich!!!! This means I don't have to log off in order to make lunch. DEVS WORK ON THIS IMMEDIATELY!!!
