  1. Yesterday I had a very frustrating situation in which a stronghold was purchased with cartel coins. I had started a new character for the light-dark event. It had been a while since I had leveled a character and the strongholds indicated that they were a quest. Without really thinking, I just started clicking to get the experience. Somehow a Yavin stronghold was purchased for 2500 CC. The only reason I even noticed was my CC dropped dramatically. I immediately sent a ticket and was advised that they can not refund CC purchases. I believe that there should be some warning so that other players do not make a similar mistake, especially as SWTOR will offer nothing due to the error. If there are going to be such harsh consequences for an error/mistake then it is only fair that you make sure the player is aware what they are doing., especially as the cost is so expensive.
  2. Sithhikers have been in rateds the last 2 weeks. There is also a group of Imps that PUG rated.
  3. This is happening on other servers as well and we know that there are people waiting to que so it seems like something is messed up. Also having an issue where we actually have 8 players but 1 or 2 of them are not showing in ops, which makes it hard to heal. Seeing as this is happening on a completely unrelated server (and just started happening) it would appear that it is likely a problem caused by the new backfill coding. Hopefully BW figures it out.
  4. Cant tell who is trolling and who is being serious lol If you arent aware its a bug that happens to players, IE My level 55 sorc couldnt que because "not level 10" even though I was sitting in the ranked que with my guild.
  5. I agree, you still earned the exp. If you are a lvl 30 bounty hunter you earned the same amount of exp whether you decided on Merc or Ptech, so I just dont see the complaints. I made a mistake with 1 character, Id like to be able to fix it. If I cant, oh well, but it would be a nice perk for subscribers (you get 1/2 chances to change your AC prior to 50). I think that gives people a chance to toy with what they want before making a final decision. And I cant see how sub 50 characters switching AC is going to impact anyone, let alone hardcore guilds.
  6. Yep to anyone new I hope you enjoy your stay. Although I think most of the people who are coming here already had rolled characters and realized that Jung Ma is a great server.
  7. Sounds like a bugged wz... We shall see what fleet is like tonight, not 1 person in my guild has even discussed moving and weve actually been gaining new players and seeing a lot of new guilds in pvp wzs, so who knows what is going on. Not to mention its the afternoon of a patch, meaning that Id generally expect server population to be lower.
  8. No pve and pvp build are going to be slightly different. In pve build you really dont need a point in corrupted speed and likely would use it in reverse corruption (not sure how many battles I need more force speed). I also go back and forth on force sap in pve (how many times am I getting that close to a boss). Sorc healers do fine as long as they know what they are doing, understand how to use all of their tools and get guarded every once in a while. This is my pvp spec: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#201RRrddRroRGuoZbc0MZ0M.3 Differences of note: 1) 7 points in lightning for barrier +10%. I also am getting 100 more force. Even if you dont like shield, you absolutely should be getting the 100 more force as the 2% damage reduction is not even close to as valuable as 3-5 more heal spells without worrying about force. 2) Sap strength, instead of points in seeping darkness life surge. This goes back to part 1 as I have to find a way to put 9 points (7 into lightning and 2 into madness) into other trees than corruption. I usually do not need more crit so seeping darkness points are usually the first to go (need 1 to get into second level). That leaves a final decision of sap strength v. life surge. In essence it is 2% total damage reduction + crit versus 25% damage reduction during important moments. I go with the latter because if there is someone who is focusing me/chasing, the stun and 25% reduction is often the difference between escaping with my life or dying on the spot. In a general wz (against average to good opponents) I take about 500k damage. A 2% reduction is not worth losing the 25% reduction.
  9. Wow this is argument is entirely semantics (and not one good reason against). Yes they would have a new AC that they didnt have before. BUT They would have the same amount of lvl 55 characters. If I am a Sorc and switch to an Assassin, I still earned the exact same amount of exp, I put in the exact same amount of time, I just am getting a class that I now enjoy. The obvious downside is flavor of the month etc, and people do a bunch of changes. Hence why perhaps limiting the change to the end of chapter 1/2 etc would be fair. That way you can toy around with a tank and decide its not for you. I just dont know how you can legitimately test out what you like pre-level 10. Ill never have a bunch of level 55's, but it would be nice to have every healer. I guess I just dont see why I would care if another person wants to switch classes.
  10. Id actually pay CC for this on my bounty hunter. I do not play alts much but back before 2.0 I needed a break from always being a sorc healer and thought Id pick a class that had no healing option so that Id never have to heal. I leveled up a BH to level 30. I then realized that it was a waste for my AC to be tank/dps because I was never going to tank and I was just frustrated when I created the BH instead of the merc. Now months later my BH just sits there because I dont really see a point in grinding it out until endgame. I also dont really feel like completely redoing chapter 1 of the story. So being able to switch my class would be great advantage. A fair compromise could be perhaps offering AC changes at the end of each chapter. Because I hate to say it, but you really dont know the class at level 10.
  11. If youre dps you can just start playing. Im in zones all the time where people seemingly dont understand the game. Yesterday a premade leader was telling the group to get orbs on hyper gate when the other team was trying to deny/capture pylon. He just could not understand that if we got our own pylon and defended we would win. Or the guy in a tie huttball game who throws it with 5 seconds left and full health... Zones are full of players who dont even seemingly care to learn the game, so you are likely going to be fine if you just pay attention. Hutball is kind of odd (and make sure to have throw on a tool bar if not keybound) but as a dps you can just try and follow with the group, or worst case if they mark a healer just annoy them all game. No matter what just have fun. Everyone has made a stupid mistake that has cost our team the game. My friend and I lost a node on Civil War because we were talking about how I just joined the guild when a stealther capped. I only get annoyed when I give instructions (go left, etc) and people are silent, and then ignore them. If you want a different plan, fine, speak up. But if you dont say anything most people presume that you have read the ops and are in agreement, IE Stealth left everyone else right.
  12. My operative. Will give me a second healer to raid/pvp with.
  13. I like the look of conqueror and underworld though... I didnt augment my partisan pieces for this reason, just waited till I got my conqueror.
  14. Im no where near NIM progression but I am actually glad to hear that this is a tough fight and that people may have to work a few weeks to beat it. It may not be popular, but there is a sense of achievement to actually downing a boss that is difficult/hard and took time to accomplish. In the olden days it was accepted.
  15. Im not on your server but its an interesting discussion nonetheless. I have a sorc healer, I admit to the following: 1) I use 2 pieces of campaign armor for PVE set bonus. The PVP bonus is nonsense and the PVE is completely necessary (lower cd on innervate). Due to bolster, I am not sure if its better to just keep the armor pve with conqueror mods/enhance or just use the 146, so I currently use the 146. 2) I use 2 crafted implants. 3) The rest of my gear is conqueror. Is this gaming the system, is it taking advantage of bugs, is this okay? Im not 100% sure. I honestly dont think what I am doing is tipping the scales or wrong, but if the rules are "pvp is pvp" then I really shouldnt be running my pve set bonus. The problem (as others have said) is that the sorc heal set bonus is pretty sad. I get focused on, if I have time to consume, it probably means Im 1) already out of combat or 2) about to be out of combat. So what good is a set bonus that gives me back a little hp on a skill I cant really use? Then you have other classes that get great set bonuses so they have a really good incentive to use the pvp gear. I guess its never fair, so I just try and make my character as good as I can within reason. I paid good money for the implants, I worked for the gear, its a lot different then going in naked or without any pvp gear. But how do you draw a definite line in a grey area? Thanks for the read guys, you should be getting a few good players from my server so hopefully you guys treat them well and prove why it was a good decision to transfer.
  16. I think part of the reason this thread exists is that even though SWTOR is a MMO it is one where it does not require you to grind the skill of "making friends". Back in the olden days, before group finder, before queing into ops, etc, making friends was valuable, working with groups over time was valuable. But in SWTOR you really dont need to group or make friends to reach 55, so you players who are solo and they dont really see the need of "making friends". On the other hand you have players who are in guilds, who do progression, who play with the same 4,8, 12 players every single day. They dont necessarily que in wzs as a premade because they are top tier pvp, they do it because those are the players they always play with. Its the same for why you bring the same people to do progression raiding, you become friends, you become a team, its what makes the game fun. So splitting the que will do nothing more than just further create a single player game in MMO clothing. Not sure if its good/bad/indifferent. But I definitely think that right now without cross server it just would make some servers have to little wzs.
  17. So because you had a group of bad players, all players on Jung Ma are bad? Plenty of people are queing with full conqueror augmented. But yes sometimes you get players who seemingly have no clue about gear. That also happens in PVE. You just wonder how they got to 55 without a clue and move on. Nothing more, nothing less.
  18. Ive been getting lowbie pops on Jung Ma up until 3 am est (usually about 5-10 minutes or so that late), 55 regulars go all night (yesterday my last que was 3:30 est) but after about 3 est they do start to slow down if its a weeknight. The lowest level is definitely slower than 55. There is very little incentive to just que pvp at that level which is why I assume the que is slower. Im trying to get to 55 asap with my new character though so, my main focus on wz is to complete daily and weekly for exp while I do class quests to level. If you pvp to much you end up out leveling your class quests and then getting less exp, so it takes longer to hit 55, get your companions slower etc.
  19. If Im in the group it generally means that Imps will win (haha I kid), unless of course I happen upon a premade of certain Pubs, and then its probably a loss unless my group is good. There is just a massive difference between the top dps players and the rest. And when the top sentinels follow you around, its a lot different then when sentinels in partisan/pve follow you around. But in general it really just depends on the randomness of the group. In general I will say that Imperial pugs seem to be less team oriented. Things like: No one gets node at hypergate, no one wants to guard, no one tries to cap on Novarre will sink you even against bad teams. So a lot of times if you want to win youre going to have to do the role that no one else will take. I often find even simple requests go unnoticed: "Stealth right, everyone else left" or "X,Y,Z to east everyone else to south". So overall its pretty even between the goods and the bads, there is just a substantial amount of luck in which group youll get placed.
  20. It really just depends on who you happen to que with and against. I dont name names, but if you happen to get grouped with the better Republic players they are some of the best (if not best) at killing healers. Its so random, but I can basically tell by the names in my group how the match is going to go (given the other side is average), or by the gear level.
  21. My main is a sorc, but Im leveling up an operative to try and compare. Numbers arent everything but most of the time I am the top sorc in my zone. I can beat most operatives, but the top ones sometimes get me by more than 20%. Im not 100% sure why, which is why Im going to level one up in double exp weekend. As for mercs, there is 1 in my guild who can put up numbers in the sorc/op range. The rest that Ive seen arent anywhere close. Which is why Im making an operative.
  22. First to the bolded. I apologize for the stupid beauracratic MVP voting. When I que with my guild there is an accepted rule on how people vote so that everyone gets 1. I often feel really bad about this because if someone guarded me I want to give them my vote, or if someone did something spectacular etc. The good news is MVP votes are barely worth anything. The only thing they do for me is make me laugh when I solo and get 0. As for the rest, if every solo player played team first, it would probably vastly increase the pvp experience. I for one respect those players and if I see them again (especially when Im solo queing) I will make sure that they are alive etc. Because you have to prioritize your healing, and I selfish deathmatchers are last on my list.
  23. We take PUGS with, I just dont generally join a pug raid (TFB or SV). Im a healer, so it just can be extremely frustrating. But I have no problem bringing a few people with, especially if they are willing to d/l something so that they can listen to instructions. The problem in PVP is that I very rarely see a "pug" who is interested in helping the team. They seem to be just wanting to solo and do their own thing. (I know vast generalization). Id be glad to have a pug ask "What do you want me to do". Hell when Im soloing I often ask the premade "Where do you want me" and I get no response. But then again, just because its a premade doesnt mean they are good.
  24. This is a pretty big generalization without any support. I que solo a good amount, I que in a group as well. When I am in a wz, I often will give a very simple instruction to start the zone, for example Voidstar: X,Y go right, everyone else go left. Then shockingly, more than X, Y go right. What am I supposed to say or do? Type out a long explanation why I created plan to get the doors, that they messed up? Sorry, at that point Im knee deep in nonsense trying to pull out a win for my team who cant even be bothered to follow 1 simple instruction. I have no problem helping any players who want to get better. Its just annoying to lose zones because no one even went to your node because they all wanted a kill fest in mid (hypergate). Then lets add in when I que and go against a double premade and Im with pugs. How much fun is it for 7 people to focus fire on you, because you are the only threat? Id gladly solo que ranked, but right now that isnt an option and on most nights with people also raid pveing, we dont have a full group for rated. We often que 2 groups of 3, and we will fight each other when we are grouped on different sides. I guarantee not once have I joined a wz and someone has gone "Oh damn its X, he sometimes ques in a premade so we should quit group." The general reaction is 1) I immediately get a guard by some random tank that recognizes me, 2) people make comments that they are going to win or 3) I get invited to join a random group after because they want me to heal them. Its like asking why dont I solo que random ops/hms as much as I que them with my guild/friends. Its not worth the time/frustration. I hate easy matches, but Im not going to go out of my way to pug when I have a list of people who will appreciate my game play. Hell there is nothing more annoying than when I get grouped with a premade and their tank puts a guard on their crappy healer instead of me. I know premade problems
  25. Not sure why you arent enjoying the boards on your new server then? Seriously reminds me of the guy who keeps calling his old girlfriend to tell her about how great his new girlfriend is.... Im pretty sure that most of us dont care. If you want to leave, if you think X server is better, go for it. I hope you have a great time. I just dont understand why you keep posting in Jung Ma forum? Youve been asking for Server Transfers for over a year: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=451816 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=597168 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=610542 So its not like you recently came to this conclusion.
