  1. In the end I used my token to start at 60 as a sniper, the pewpew spammy style of the GS can be annoying while the sniper sounds and effects makes it feel like it has an impact each shot!
  2. Yeah I'v already did both stories, but thx for the information regardless! I was wondering, sniper/blaster aside, which one do you feel has the best animations/effects in their abilities?
  3. As the thread's name implies, I'm wondering who has the better looking weapons, armor style, abilities, effects, etc. I already did every stories in the game (beside trooper that I did not go past lvl 40-45 or so) a couple of years ago so I'm coming back only to see how is the game now compared to 3.X. I want to start a sniper or GS but I just can't decide between the two and I for sure don't have the time to lvl both. Therefore, I'd like the opinion of fellow players! Thank you, A.R.
  4. Thx for the info! Ill continue to lvl my sentinel to 60 but as I was playing it as combat, I will try the concentration spec as it sounds like the most viable.
  5. I only like burst but I dont want to roll FOTM hehe thats why im not going assassin or PT. I was just wondering if what you were telling me was "stay away from sentinel unless you have a pocket healer as a friend" or else It will only be a headache.
  6. Ok so... as a big "résumé" of your opinion, as I used to main (before my several months long break) scoundrel/ops, I should probably stick to that class (specced conceal/scrapper) if I want a melee that has big burst but is also viable (or at least a lot easier)?
  7. Wut? Why would it be the worst? A lot would argue annihilation marauders, to name only one, is a lot worst for example.
  8. I hear you. I love ruffian too but beside the off heals, I feel almost useless damage-wise as I can't burst somebody as quickly as a lot of the other burst classes.
  9. I'v read around, had my decent experience as ruffian (was playing lethality op before my months-long break) and saw some vids of most people saying (in a really TL.DR.): go for concealment/scrapper for really good burst and lethality/ruffian if you want decent burst with really good off-heals and resistance to DoTs (which, for a while, were flying everywhere with all scrubs rerolling FOTM sins going hatred and sorcs going madness). As of right now, I am not too sure if there's still has many DoTs going around in PVP, but there's no question there that scrapper does a lot more burst than ruffian.
  10. Thx. Was wondering though, which is the best with fury (the common tree)?
  11. Hello community! As my title implies, I just came back from a several-month break from the game and I'm kind of lost in what is what. I read about in the forums of both ACs and it seems sentinel is still an underdog that needs attention from the devs and guardian recieved the nerf bat not too long ago. I'm mainly a pvp player and I'm wondering which one is most viable but mostly FUN to play. As I'm used to play my operative and wanted another melee class, do they have about the about same amount of burst and survivability as the op/scoundrel? Thx for any tips/information!
  12. Do like me, unsub and spend your money elsewhere Maybe once they lose all PVP playerbase, they will understand what kind of failure the balancing is.
  13. True but I'd still prefer this to grenade simply because using dart+corrosive nade + grenade = 3 GCDs + a lot of energy compared to snipers that apply both dots and the dart is spread.
  14. Yup, sins have the same spread as sorcs, why can't we have corrosive nade spread our dart too, like snipers? Also, toxic blast needs a damage buff if we aren't getting a buff to our dot damage.
  15. The game is balanced around PVE first. PVP comes reaaaaallllly later in terms of balance priority. BW priorities: Cartel Market >>> PVE >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>PVP. I'm myself a PVPer (regs) yet my class (lethality Op) has no chance against an equally skilled player playing a FOTM class and this won't change for a while so a lot of us PVPers are playing while our sub is lasting then byebye. When you can see scoreboards with 2 teams only about sorcs and sins + a single marauder, it shows how this is out of hand.
  16. As a sage/sorc player (along with Op), I say +1 to what Hei said. When you have tried all classes you can see which one has advantages over others. Sorc is somewhat balanced (but do requires a bit of tweaking down such as DPS offheals completly overshadowing Ops and Merc DPS off-heals like it's nothing and having one of the best AoE in the game that requires no setting up time (like FlameThrower for pyro PT which does even less damage fully buffed up than FS) nor has any CD: Force Storm.
  17. Shameless bump for the sake of this class' survival.
  18. Well, you just have to compare Ops to Sins to see how BW is biased. We lost our knockdown because of some scrubs crying after using their CC breaker on the 1,5 sec knockdown while Sins get to keep their Spike (which is a 2 sec stun that also does good amount of damage), sins have better CC, defensive CDs and can even sometimes "out-heal" us through their leeching strike and death field + DoTs. We definitly need better damage on lethality (and, if BW finally takes their Operatives community seriously, a freaking fix to the puny damaging Dots and the spread) but a lot will argue against concealment getting a damage buff. we also definitly need better offheals because in the case of lethality, requiring 4 GCDs to set your heals up is too long, something like a refresh of probes on roll/infusion is required.
  19. Is this some sort of publicity for DA: Inquisition (the spam of inquisitor classes I mean, not OP's ScreenShot which is amazing btw, really representative of PVP nowadays)
  20. That's why, IMO, they need to make so that only you can see your own DPS/total damage charts. That way there is no Epeen-ing and MVP votes will go to people doing objectives, tanks n healers and playing as a team, not for useless fluff damage numbers.
  21. For the changes for PTs, those made me laugh... I mean did Unload really do anything? Their priority is horrendous ... Cartel Market > PVE fix (like slot machines) > Pointless balancing (like unload removal for PTs) > core needed balancing. I foresee the death of this game anyway it is dead for me. A lot of my guildies seemed to have move to World of Tanks... that tells a lot of how bored/annoyed/frustrated they are about 3.0 lol. On an end note, I wish for you all (that stay and bite the bullet) greener pastures and hope BW finally realises how terribad they are balancing/listening to the right players and make a change of mentallity. /end of final ranting I hear you. Good luck with those exams I'm in a similar boat as I'm doing a master degree in toxicology/health research so I guess it's "best" that way haha more time to study/work ^^ See ya around.
  22. Madness sins pre-3.0 were fine, they did not needed a buff. And if you got out-DPSed by a scrapper it can be (1)nobody focused him or (2) he has way better skills/gear than you, or both, simple as that. My point is, I have both a sin and Op lvl 60 and as much as I love my Op, sin is way easier to play and can do everything an Op can and be better at it (more damage, protection, heals trough leeching, more CC, etc.). Explain to me how I do average-good on my Op when I main him (and played him like 30 times more than my sin) yet I do good or really good while pretty much just rolling my face on keyboard with my sin? See the problem? Ops requiring a lot more attention/skills yet does average against a class of the same nich that does a whole lot better with less effort. You can defend your hatred sin class as much as you want but even people like Evolixe (pro sin player) who played a whole life more than you (and as a sin) acknowledge how serenity/hatred is out of hands. You are alone in defending this broken class which definitly needs to be toned down.
  23. The problem is that Force Storm used on a lightning spec does more damage than a fully buffed flamethrower for pyro PTs (which also requires to be at 10m range and is only a cone on top of requiring/building up the stacks to fully buff it) and any other AoEs in the game (like Orbital Strike). Your argument of "they thought that way then, but now they changed the mentallity about AoE" is fallacious simply because Orbital Strike would have gotten a buff to make it on par (or even better because of the CD and channelling prior to damage, which FS does not have) with Force Storm if it was the case and thought that AoE should play a bigger role. Face it, FS is the strongest AoE in the game (even without Recklessness buff) damage wise, it does not have any CD and has one of the biggest size along with death field. If you fail to see the problem here, it's because you never played any other class (and by play, I mean fully PVP gear it).
