  1. It has been pretty widely accepted that Underworld Relic of the Cerulean Nova and Underworld Relic of Serendipitous Assault are best in slot. The parses suggest that this is the best DPS gain available. It is also popular to have an Underworld Relic of Boundless Ages to throw on during burst phases for the extra gain. Toss on the clicky power, get the buff, throw on the proc power, and get the best of all three worlds. I forgo the latter option I am lazy and don't want to swap gear mid fight, but your mileage may vary. There is a long discussion on the whole thing here. You will have to go to the last few pages for the discussion on Relics, but it is definitely worth the read as there is hardcore data to back up the assumptions. Not just a bunch of "I feel this or that".
  2. Agreed! I love being able to pass off my hand-me-downs. I am at the point now where I am using Ultimate/Elite comms to gear out my companions so it wouldn't matter too much now, but any comms I spend on myself will ultimately benefit my companions as I continue to upgrade, so it is a win-win all the way around.
  3. Agreed about Mortar Volley and leveling. It was probably the strongest reason that I stuck with my Commando over the other classes as I was deciding which class I wanted to take to 50 first. The first time I let that sucker go I was all like *blink blink* I LOVE THIS THING! <Insert Simon Phoenix reference here>
  4. GTN = Galactic Trade Network It is the place to buy and sell in game stuff with credits. If you are familiar with WoW or similar games it is the Auction House. Orange gear is customizable which allows you to level up with it using enhancements and modifications. You remove the old mods and replace them with new stuff while keeping the armor itself without changing your looks. Or, if you simply want to change your look and keep your current stats you can take the mods out of your current gear and move them to the new piece.
  5. You can use an apostrophe as a separator though.
  6. Willpower >=Accuracy(110%) >Surge(70%) >Power> Crit(25%) What this says is that Willpower is your first priority and so is Accuracy until you get it to 110%, after you get Accuracy you should focus on getting Surge to 70%, next focus on Power and lastly worry about trying to get Critical Chance to 25%. Willpower will not directly compete with anything else on the list there, so always go for the highest Willpower you can get. Your first objective is getting that Accuracy to 110% because a miss is a total loss of DPS. Surge is needed next because it determines how hard your criticals hit but it has a huge diminishing return after 70% so any more than that is a waste. Power is really the last stat you want to stack up as there is no diminishing returns on Power. The Critical Chance deal is something you only want to take when there is nothing else available because it is really gimped after 25% chance. Most people I know go with 0 crit on their gear and just use what is available by default and buffs, but your mileage may vary. You really only worry about crit once everything else is where you want it, and you have the budget for it.
  7. Seriously guy... put down the mouse and pick up a dictionary. You are doing the human race a disservice.
  8. A bit harsh, but accurate none the less. I would suggest that you not sweat being the "noob." We were all there once, and will be there again in future games. Yeah, you might get some crap from impatient idiots, but for the most part people are accepting of new guys, especially if you are upfront about it. I wouldn't suggest you start off doing Ops, unless they are the level 50 SMs, and even then as you experienced, it won't always be easy depending on the group you get. You will never learn if you never try, so gather up some gumption and get out there! Group up with some folks that want to run some level 50 FP (you can still do them just not through group finder). You might also try another healer or another role all together. I am not very fond of healing and I found the Commando and the Sage the be UGH worthy... but the Scoundrel healer is pure awesome sauce to play! Don't give up! There are tons of really nice people to meet in the group finder, and several irritating douche nozzles as well. Shrug off the idiots and make friends with cool kats!
  9. Well said! We all agree that the current incarnation of the GTN leaves something to be desired. The workarounds that were offered are an excellent means of working within the current system and you should be grateful that someone took the time to offer a solution to your problem between now and whenever the hell it gets fixed... if ever it does.
  10. Yes it is, especially when you buy items with comms just for the mods but you can't use the armorings. I have a bank full of 69/72 head and foot armorings because they tend to have the enhancements and mods that I want... and I just can't bring myself to vendor the armorings and my companions are decked out already.
  11. I know context is lost in text format... but obvious sarcasm is obvious.
  12. Amen... I miss the days of EQ when there was one boss, he was out in the open and it was a race to see who got there first. On top of that, there were usually two or three other guilds standing in your shadows just waiting for you to fail and swoop in. I so miss the days of racing through the halls of Ssra against our rival guilds as we struggle to engage the Emperor first. I also miss the larger raid groups... this 8-man and 16-man stuff is garbage to me. Alas, long gone are the days of true raiding.
  13. I will sign as well! Not that it affects me all that much as I main a Gunnery Commando, but I am all for anything that aids in overall raid efficiency! Personally, I don't need to see any debuffs on the enemies and I kinda wish they only put mine up to eliminate confusion.
  14. I love it! I find it irritating for the 30 seconds it takes me to fuss with it, but once I am past the login screen I am very happy with it!
  15. For you, perhaps. The funny thing is... you aren't the only player out there.
  16. It is sad too because the changes needed are very minor and a could probably be coded over a weekend, if that. I don't see any reason they couldn't put one lackey on the GTN for an upcoming patch.
  17. That is an intriguing idea except for the fact that the user base will create infinitely more useful tools than a hamstrung development team ever will. I often marvel at how much better the user base can make a game through UI and Addon customization. No doubt that there would be a dearth of mindless crap, but there would be a few that would create masterpieces! I do like the idea of making the use of them a subscription based service. That would really make the subscription worth it.
  18. The only thing I would like to see on the GTN is shift+Lclick for searching. A minor QoL change but for a person that actively works the market such as myself, I could save countless hours of searching with just this minor addition. That, and the ability to see the buy & sell tabs in a single tab or individual windows. I really get tired of going back and forth between the two pages, especially since you need information from both to really use the GTN to it's fullest.
  19. For me, it would mostly be graphical changes. The functionality of the windows is typically good, they just look... old. I want something more befitting a futuristic sci-fi setting, in particular, a Star Wars setting. The current design belongs in an AD&D book. There are a few functions that I would add though, such as better re-sizing of the casting frames, individual buff and debuff frames, and individual frames for the raid window. At the very least I would like 4 independent group windows for each group within an Op.
  20. What a terrible analogy... I mean, I just don't... what? Massive undercuts do not typically screw up the market the way you are suggesting. At best, they are anomalies, blips, hiccups even and they are to be expected. That undercut item will usually sell quickly, and only a small sample size of the buying population will even be aware of the anomaly. If a single item, listed at 50% of the bottom of the market, stays on the GTN for a longer period of time then it is a strong indication that the market was heavily overpriced to begin with and your items probably weren't going to move anyway. Even if it does fluctuate the market negatively, that is the name of the game. Markets move... either move with them or get out of the way! The only time you have any room to complain is when the market drops below the profit margin. Just because you had to settle for 200k profit instead the 1m profit you wanted, doesn't mean you got screwed... it simply means you didn't get to screw the other guy as hard as you would have liked.
  21. I was not a fan of a lot of the functional addons in WoW, such as DBM, but I would really love to be able to fully customize my UI. I really hate being pinned down to just their graphics and even the limitations of layout adjustment are too strict for my tastes. I would not be a fan of full-on addons, but I would like to have more control than what we have now. Some of the windows in this game are down-right hideous! If I could make my own changes, the first thing that would go is the Ops frame... god that thing is a piece of garbage.
  22. I don't know what kind of suckers are playing on your server, but I most certainly would have bought the undercut listings. I need to come over to your place and make a few bucks! Hell, I would have bought them at 50% and re-listed them at 80% of your value. Effectively undercutting you twice with the same item. I would never stand on principle over Monopoly money! They are just pixels dude, you didn't "do" anything to "earn" them.
  23. On Coruscant he is behind the the bank and GTN terminals underneath Senate Plaza.
  24. Nope! You have to do the quest at least once on your Legacy to be able to buy the HK-51 perk that grants him to all your characters. No amount of Cartel Coins can currently sidestep the need to do the quest at least once. P.S. Love your signature!
  25. This is the single greatest post I have ever read on these forums, and it bears repeating!
