  1. "When I left you I was but a learner, now I am the master."
  2. God I remember playing SWG and getting chills just listening to the loading screen music. Lol. "Oh gawddd I get to continue my ADVENTURE" (the feeling of which is surprisingly absent throughout this game and especially after you hit 50).
  3. It is not needed. They should just continue with the bolster buff at 50 and literally equalize all stats depending on classes, completely taking gear out of the equation and leaving only class balance and skill as the deciding factors. PvP rewards, such as gear, should be more in line with PvE gear, albeit of a lesser caliber, to allow a PvPer the option of being geared enough to at least begin PvE (be it running quests faster, or doing a flashpoint). The rewards would be a starter set basically. A problem I can foresee with this model is that of World PvP, which is unfortunately nonexistent in this game anyways, at least on my server.
  4. My reactions while playing two different storylines: Sith Warrior: Sith Inquisitor: [spacebar]
  5. I should come from WORK so I can pay $15 a month to WORK to gear up my character instead of PLAY for ENJOYMENT.
  6. The biggest problem I've faced while playing this game is that when I log on, I quite literally feel like I'm logging into World of Warcraft in space. No matter how hard I try, it just doesn't feel like Star Wars to me. Questing on planets felt dull the first time around and even more so the second (I admit the class stories themselves are superb). We're CONSTANTLY flanked by unclimbable mountains throughout our whole experience and there is little incentive (if it is even possible) to go off the beaten path and explore the world or to engage in actual world PvP. Once you finish a planet, there is very little reason to go back to it other than for Datacrons, at least for me anyways. Thus, I spend most of my time sitting in the fleet, kind of like how I spent most of my time sitting in Dalaran/Orgrimmar after Burning Crusade. Now, I realize Bioware has stated time and time again that this game is not a sandbox style mmo, but rather a "roller-coaster" themed MMO. For those of you who have been to a theme park, did you ever notice that the third or fourth time you rode the same roller-coaster, it just wasn't as fun? The one time, and yes, the ONE AND ONLY TIME I felt like I was in the Star Wars universe was when I was questing in the vast openness of the Dune Sea. It really felt like I was adventuring through Tattooine, not the Grand Canyon. And don't even get me started on how constrained we are in space. Moving onto the classes, once again I feel that Bioware failed to deliver that Star Wars feel. Playing a Sith Juggernaut feels more like I'm just playing the WoW Warrior class. How many times did a Sith in any of the trilogy movies jump up and smash down, sending electricity in every direction? None. But what other characters have the exact same ability? Hmm... Thunderclap anyone? Sith Inquisitors? Just look at their armor. There is absolutely NOTHING Star Warsy about any of their endgame sets, NOTHING at all. Their new 1.2 PvP armor aesthetics are a joke. I suppose the other classes were done well, although I can't recall any Imperial Agents throughout the movies. I realize that this video game isn't based off of the movies, but honestly, I think the closer they are, both to the setting and the aesthetics, the better. These are just my two cents and why I will not be resubscribing. TL;DR This game doesn't feel like Star Wars, it feels dead, and it feels like World of Warcraft with lightsabers.
  7. All of these, unnecessary, commas, make you, sound, like william, shatner.
  8. Who cares about Superman? Everyone knows Batman is the real bad***** in there.
  9. ***, chess is awesome. Also, http://www.guildwars2.com/en/
  10. IMO force wielding classes should be able to wear any kind of armor the other force wielding types can wear, for example a Sith Assassin wearing Sith Warrior style gear. Purely aesthetic of course with stats resembling those for the specific class allowing for more customization. After all, each force wielder has a unique weapon style (double bladed, dual, single) with the exception of the Sorc/Sage and Jug/Guardian. But how often do sorcs/sages bash you with a lightsaber anyways.
  11. To be completely honest, the only times I EVER care about winning a WZ are for my dailies and Voidstar/Alderaan. Other than that, I'm content with the amount of valor I get from running around and killing others even if it means losing huttball. With so many soccer fields near my home and open fields on my college campus, I get this strong feeling of "Why bother passing a ball around and gaining distance in here when I could call people up and play soccer out there...?" I can't wait until they let us queue specific WZs. Until then, and unless my dailies depend on it, Huttball is just one big deathmatch.
  12. This thread is now about UN Peacekeeping. Please continue. Actually, the UN usually gets involved when there is political turmoil or social unrest where a government is no longer able to maintain law and order, especially during civil wars and often to uphold ceasefires between two parties a.k.a. peacekeeping. They also move in to uphold human rights, but this is not often the case because there is still debate over sovereignty vs. universal human rights. A prime example is Syria, with China and Russia ( Syrian allies and permanent members of the UN Security Council with veto power) vetoing SC resolutions. Economic troubles are usually handled by the World Trade Organization, which can punish its members when they disobey trade policies and norms, or break WTO rules. If they're not members of the WTO, states can reciprocate or send in their own troops with or without UN backing, often without as was the case with Iraq... not that I'm saying the U.S. went in for oil. -shifty eyes-
  13. How about instead of fighting one another over being able to change advanced classes we blame Bioware for what this truly was: lazyness. Rather than craft 16 unique storylines for each "class," they basically said "Oh you know what, we really don't feel like coming up with 16 different stories, so let's just make four classes and have each one separate into two advanced classes to save on time and money at the expense of customer satisfaction." Personally, I don't support the ability to change your advanced class. However, having already experienced a class' storyline, I really don't want to go through the same story just to experience a new play style.
  14. The difference between the two brackets is that at 50 you are constantly getting wrecked by geared players. You have to continuously undertake frustrating and boring matches in order to eventually become competitive and with this RNG who knows how long that will take. To put it simply, it's just not fun when you're a meatshield (and a bad one at that) and nothing else.
  15. Nope. Frustrating and boring grinding for PvP gear while getting wrecked since many other players have a gear advantage makes my time playing this feel like a chore rather than entertainment.
  16. I was under the assumption that the RPG aspect of the game was assuming the role of the character you are playing. Why should a less skilled player have an advantage over a better player?
  17. After hitting 50 two weeks ago, WZs in general have become the most frustrating and boring ordeal for one simple reason: gear. I can't even come to finish my PvP dailies because of how frustrating it is to constantly be defeated simply because other players have a huge advantage against me. I'm not the only one that shares this opinion. One look at the PvP forums and it is clear that fresh 50s are having a horrible time at PvP. Why should PvP be based around gear rather than skill? After all, gear does not determine skill. MMOs, and any other multiplayer games, should thrive on competition with other players, be it on the same or opposite faction. It SHOULD NOT be a race to get the best gear. So why not just remove gear stats from the equation? Rather than having gear be a determining factor in PvP, it should be an aesthetic bonus, with the only stats being that of the character's level. All of the better looking gear should go to the better skilled player, but it SHOULD NOT give that player an advantage over someone else. After all, if they are THAT good, then it shouldn't really be a deciding factor, should it? Yet if a horrible player who has spent hours and hours grinding, he is rewarded with an advantage over other players who may or may not have greater skill and knowledge of their class, simply because of gear. Gear DOES NOT determine skill. With no stats, players can immediately jump into the game and not have to worry about a grind for gear, and quite simply just enjoy the game. Just take a look at FPSs. Now, I know this isn't a FPS, but bear with me. Games like Halo, CoD, and Battlefield are fun to many people, and it's not the high level weapon unlocks that keep players going. Most weaponry is balanced, and the player's skill determines the effectiveness of the weaponry. If anything, it is more of an AESTHETIC choice, rather than a gun x is better than gun z. The prime motivating factor to keep players playing is that of competition. Well what about players who just aren't good at the game? Wouldn't they eventually tire out? Well, practice makes perfect, doesn't it? How this would be implemented in regards to PvE, however, is beyond me. Other than a desire for an aesthetic pleasing set of gear, I fail to see the point of any PvE activities anyways, as the gear that players receive does not even give an advantage over other players with PvP gear. Thus, one could assume that players do it for the aesthetic qualities of armor, titles, or quite simply, because it is fun. So in the end, what is the point of having stats on gear other than to have players constantly farming for gear for days on end. Oh... This is just simply my opinion. Any other ideas are welcome. As it stands now, however, PvP is just a bore, especially for fresh 50s.
  18. There should be a complete revamp of gear imo. Multiplayer games should thrive on competition rather than who has more time/better gear. Remove all gear stats and replace that with base level stats, while making gear more of an aesthetic option with the better looking gear models going to the better skilled players. This way no one can complain about being undergeared. Problems will always be due to class balance/player skill, not unfair gear advantages. That's just my take on it anyways and it's coming from my experience with FPS Multiplayer games. Granted, I know they're not MMOs, but just look at how popular Halo/COD/BF are where the effectiveness of the weaponry depends on the player skill and the prime motivating factor to continue playing (and people will continue playing for years and years) is competition.
  19. Get rid of all gear stats and just have base stats for every level. Make the gear just about aesthetics. Then no one can complain about being undergeared since it will only be a matter of skill and class balancing.
  20. 1 - 49 bracket, no. I had a blast. 50 bracket? Boring and frustrating as ****. Been getting my *** handed to me for 2 weeks.
  21. If I had known it would be this bad I would've done the same thing. Whats even worse is that I'm not much of an alt person. =/
