  1. I'm a marauder that hates it when the PvE tanks can't keep up with me. That's why I stopped playing PvE, got sick of running into Ops with my WH gear showing the clicking PvE heroes how it's done. It's like dayum brah, i'm here to win not to teach people how to play. Training classes are over, it's time for me and I love me some me!
  2. Run some ranked against good teams noob, long high scoring matches like the SC that was posted means it was a long drag out beat up knock out fight where two stubborn dogs went at it and brought their A game. I realize that in your little fantasy world, good players let those low dmg "pro objectives" players like yourself sit there and spam cap until you get it. Most ranked games in Civil War and VS go full length. I've seen Novare Coast get some crazy games ( more than 5 ppl with 1mil dmg) because nobody got two caps for the longest time.
  3. Don't mind the scrubs that need to over-analyze something to hide the fact that they are not capable. It's a typical jealousy response to go out of ones way to discredit an achievement. Congrats and welcome to the 1 mil dmg club, i've done it on my mara, sent, jugg, sniper and assassin and it feels damn good every time. Looks like you used Lethality, good man! Whenever I see marksman snipers sitting in cover pecking away at people I ignore them and assume they are shooting at tanks and other wrong targets because anyone worth a **** in PvP isn't running Marksman.
  4. As long as Lethality remains one of the better PvP specs i'm happy...my server is filled with underperforming full WH nubs running Marksman in PvP. Such a garbage low skill cap, PvE-like play style that is fitting for keyboard turners and clickers. Cover system and cast times are for scrubs, shoot on the run or go home. I may have to dust my sniper off in 2.0 assuming Leth is still the *******.
  5. Yup that's it, all of Harbinger is racist towards "black" people. You got it all figured out... Sounds like you're a real pain in the *** drama queen. Most of my characters have darker/tan skin (GTL BABY) never heard anyone comment on it. If people notice the color of your skin in WZ's you're not hitting them hard enough. L2P
  6. Not to nit pick here but it sounds like a gear issue. If the marauder is taking half your life then you are seriously under-geared and now it becomes a gear issue and not a class issue. You get smashed, you can pop a health pack. When he chokes you can either wait it out or pop your CC breaker. Immediately stun him after his choke, (you have 2) line up your 2 bombs and get distance...circle around him with IP to break and quickly HIB. You have to be just aggressive as he is, sitting there letting him beat you up isn't going to work regardless of your class. Honestly, this looks like a gearing issue... The only time my mara/sent does "half health" it means the other person has made no effort to better their gear.
  7. They released a date for a small expansion coming out in April that we already assumed was coming out sometime in April. Meh big deal.
  8. Nothing wrong with working the entire team with dots, esp if you have burst/AoE smashers to clean up allowing them to kill multiple targets at once. Burst can be highly over-rated if you're killing people 1 at a time. When playing against the better equipped/smarter teams the best way to get a door/cap a node is to generally kill most of the team so they are on the same spawn timer. Doors get capped, objectives get taken easier that way. Nothing sucks more than a slow trickle of returning players. Our lack of burst does however tend to suck when we are the only dmg dealer on the team that doesn't suck. The same can be said for lethality snipers and madness assassins...
  9. My personal opinion is that DPS sage/sorcs are amazing in utility and overall health of the team dynamic of a WZ. Good ones can hang right with the best smashers/PT's in dmg as well as add a tremendous amount of CC and survival to a team. So what holds them back? Skill cap, this class from a dps standpoint requires to most skill cap IMO to play. You have to have good instincts on position and also be able to read things out in order to capitalize. (knowing when to rescue healers, maximize cc/knockback for objectives, utilize long CD offensive spells, and bubble proper switch targets etc....) Watching some streams from the Harb server I felt showed what this class can really do. There is a sorc named Darc on my server i've been watching streams. Every game his tactics seemed to change, and that to me shows a huge potential for this class as well as a huge variance in effectiveness due to skill cap. Watch some of his vids to see how deadly a dps sage/sorc can be. My biggest issue with them in rated's is that the current meta usually involved multiple smashers, it's like seeing a pack of cage animals get unleashed at once...results can turn out to be ugly. As one person earlier mentioned, 1-2 smashers can maybe be avoided but if you are vulnerable to getting blown up quickly by 3-4 of them and all of a sudden your utility you brought to the table is gone. Getting blown up quickly and early gives the other team a potential for a game breaking early cap/door. You're also taking a dps spot from a potential vanguard/PT or Smasher, so you better bring it and lay some wood to make it worthwhile or you're just a liability.
  10. Didn't they announce the event was coming back in the near future? Sell that **** soon son! It's fairly rare so as with anything the price fluctuates, I bought a hawkeye one for my Sent a few weeks ago for 1 mil. I've seen it as high as 4 mil but highly doubt anyone would pay that price.
  11. How can you say to use weaken mind on discretionary use? Wow! The goal is to maximize the use of your force, you're a dot class and slowly weakening people over time is a valuable asset that compliments AoE/burst classes in war zones. If you're not popping that thing on each and every person in range as quickly as possible you're doing it wrong. Also, 1v1...any real pvp dps sage knows we are a strong player in 1v1 combat. We have so much utility here (esp if bubble stun) that we can harass and beat on people 1v1 in such a fun and dynamic way. I welcome 1v1 fights, in fact nothing makes my eyes light up more than seeing the potential challenge of that 1v1 smasher that focuses on me out in the middle of nowhere. Our class has so many slows, stuns and knock backs that compliment our dots/instant cast dps making our 1v1 potential great. You also mention using the second charge of force potency on TK after FiB...how horrible is that? That assumes your FiB is only hitting 1 target, again you're doing it way wrong. Spread weaken mind, supplement with TK, project for extra burst or on fleeing targets, use your bubble to offheal as see fit and use mind crush on procs (hardly ever waste proc on disturbance). As you spread weaken mind and mind crush make sure to hit the dotted group with FiB. Most matches i'm #1 or #2 dps (if i'm not #1 I consider it a bad game for me) with about 140k+ healing and 3 or so solo kills. Not to mention my bubble stuns/CC/pulls for objectives are usually the game winner. Your guide just seems way off to me... The only thing I agree with is positioning and stealth visual gearing (not enough people talk about this tactic). I would have spent more time talking about positioning such as the shoulder rules and what not (hardly ever engage without some type of LoS object within shoulder length is a good way for newer players to understand positioning). Also gearing... Not sure about alacrity? If you're making an effort to obtain an item for it's alacrity as a pvp sage in general you're doing it wrong. Just take whatever comes with an item you're forced to take to maximize power and that's it. Willpower and power are king, expertise around 1200 and gtg! The dmg difference between 1200 and 1300 expertise is garbage and if anyone thinks it's significant then they need to take a simple math class to understand numbers is all I have to say. About your comments on healing spells (or green cast items as you mention). People need to realize that while a sage can easily top the dmg charts, our primary focus is that of a support class. We can off heal quite well and sometimes tricking the other team into thinking we are healers plays a tremendous role in helping your real healers and team in general. It's a good tactic to make some dps classes focus you only to run them around a corner and beat the ever living crap out of them. We are a great utility class with a high skill cap, that's what makes us so great. Don't be a 1 dimensional dmg dealer, play with trickery and be as disruptive to the meta as possible. Sometimes taking people out of the fight is better than outright killing them. Abilities: Rescue is much more than pulling in huttball. How about setting a healer on your team as a focus and pulling him out of burst radius of smashers/PT's that are bursting him down? Try rescuing a healer that's taking alot of burst dmg fast and see how much he loves you afterwords. I also pull idiot puggers closer to fight if they are fighting too far off objective caps/doors. Force Wave is much more useful in huttball proactively knocking people off ledges who are running in front of enemy BC to potentially get a pass for the score. If you've islanded off the BC to set him up for a gang bang with no one to throw to, you've done your team a huge favor.
  12. I rarely use it, it has not affected my burst/overall dmg in anyway by taking it out. It just uses ammo that can be utilized for better abilities. The only time I use it is when trying to close the deal on a stealthy, even then I may just rely on my IP. The 30% burn thing is not as cool as it seems with this, the dmg you get from it is hardly useful when playing with good players. On my server, people running around in war zones with 30% or less life don't last long enough. As for PvE, i'm sure it's a different story but I have not been in an operation for a year now. The last op I was in was hard mode SoA before the nerfs, that raiding crap is for the birds... I usually auto attack while running to get in the 10m range to trigger my first HIB, seems to work better that way. I'm more of a always be doing dmg and always have legs moving type of player though.
  13. Been playing a vanguard at level 50 for a little over a week now and finally got full WH. Having a hard time getting past the 1 million dmg mark, I know it requires that "special set of circumstances" but i had a great opportunity in a Void Star this weekend but only managed 808k. I've broken 1 mil on my Mara, Jugg, Sniper and Assassin but am struggling with the Vanguard. The thing is, this class seems like the perfect class to achieve this goal and have seen several of the better vanguards on my server do it. I realize our single target burst is fantastic, but I am guessing you 1 mil club members really spread your ion pulse around to get dots spread. I took IRound out of my rotation and pretty much do this: Spread ion pulse on all nearby targets, HIB when up. I then focus single target by pulling a healer in and throwing both grenades, IP, SS, HIB on proc until dead. I make sure to AoE groups with my 2 AoE abilities when I see 3 or more. What's the trick?!? Share your secrets, I am sure i;m missing something here...
  14. Pretty much any dps class can get 500k in war zones, it's not a huge number these days. Hard to say a spec is the best because you do 500k. I still think if you want to take down a skilled healer you need 31 in assault...
  15. Not sure you know what burst means... Smash has a cooldown, it's not as OP as it seems for single target burst. Good healers know how to survive the smash and heal around it. Smashers are hard because they do great group dmg, not because they burst. Vanguards can throw 2 stickies, and HIB/IP/SS before they blow up. Add it all together it's a tremendous amount of dmg in a short period of time and difficult for healers to predict. This is hands down the best burst class in the game, period. We have alot of abilities that can be cast and cast on the run, you're comparing 1 ability with a CD (smash) and are preoccupied with the big numbers. You need to see the bigger picture and realize how much single target dmg you can do in the time it takes for a smasher to cast smash between CD's. At level 46 I was doing 450k+ dmg in warzones, it sounds like a gear issue with you. Bolster does weird things the higher you get esp when it's harder and very $$ to keep your keep in top shape closer to 50.
  16. Here I am, seemed like a great comfy place to take a nap. Made sure to leave a night light on... http://i.imgur.com/Tc6BOfE.jpg
  17. People talk **** because all the emo beta's cry about it. Just like in sports, **** talking is how you figure out who all the alphas are. Cliffs: Be a man
  18. ^ This. A dead give away that someone is laying some wood is when they get spit on.
  19. Go outside for a bit braaaaaaah you're waaaaaay tooooooooo tense! Established pvper's tend to not give 2 ****z if some random nub is talking ****.
  20. Don't remind me, this tool is gonna end up on my team in the next WZ queue. "DONT WORRY GUYZ IM DOINNNNGGG OBJEEECTIIVEEESSS"
  21. Nothing and I mean nothing eats away at me than seeing pure dps classes manage less than 200k dmg while wearing WH gear in a full length WZ. When I ask them *** they did for the last 15 minutes they tell me the famous baddie anthum: DMG doesn't matter, I was doing objectives!!!!!1111 This is the battle cry of the keyboard turner. I would love to see what objectives you were doing in voidstar and civil war when you were clearly not attacking anyone. Clicking a door or node over and over and over while your team is getting destroyed by people who know how to play their class does not count as "doing objectives". The only ones with that excuse are stealth classes and dps classes helping offheal, and node defenders. You win by wiping the other team and capturing the objective. Yeah, the occasional fail group may let you cap right under their nose but any self respecting pre-made wont let that happen. Play to win, not play to assume the other team is full of idiots. Ever play with a healer raging in voice chat because he can't heal fast enough to keep his team up? Yeah those games are usually losses because the players on the other team are absolutely beasting the dmg charts. Maybe other servers can get away with this but there are alot of good dmg dealers on Harbinger, clicking doors hoping they wont notice doesn't work and renders your team at a disadvantage. Another "stupid quirk" People who don't look ahead of the BC in huttball, both offensively and defensively. Those two assassins up on the ramps? Yeah, expect them to get a pass. Oh you concentrated on the current ball carrier down below thinking you can kill him before he passes? Doesn't work! Too bad you blew your load trying to kill the sniper with the ball near the gas pool. Oh you thought you were going to score? You didn't see the three knockback classes ahead of you waiting for you to run in front of them?
  22. I like to make my characters wear tight stretchy pants.
  23. ban hammered for a week so I guess i'll watch some streams for my swtor fix! THANK YOU TWITCH TV P.S: Apparently they actually care if they catch you running space missions over and over and over and over at odd hours of the night.
