  1. maybe they could introduce some sorta charge system like sin deception. so say each lightning bolt thing increase chainlightning dmg by 5% or something. that combined with a general buff to all dmg and sorc (lightning at least) could be great again. #makesorcgreatagain
  2. sorc buffed or not sux right now. and in many situations i can play just fine without getting globaled. still one merk in any gear/level will kill me if he use hes net on me. and trust me. TRUST ME (im a sniper engineer) i played sorc since i joined wich was roughly around launch. ever since day one i played it, lightning most of all and i done NiM with him back when that was doable. and i seen sorc both rise and fall.. so yea TRUST me i know the class better than i know my friends... (cus i dont have any ;_ merc does need a nerf (sniper feels fine tbh, as long as its not 3 of them at you) but sorc gets slain easely by other "lower tier classes" too. such as powertech for instance. i see the fact that sorcs playstyle (for lightning spec) is more" lower dmg but more attacks" ... but it dosn't matter. cus the numbers are low. i like comparing L-sorc to mara carnage cus only big difference is melee/range. carnage is same as lightning bolt or whetever and the other stuff such as gore is like chainlightning etc. and playing a mara i got good survival (enaugh at least) and HIGH dmg. usualy top of the parser to be exact... sorc aint got that. so wether u know ur class or not i have NEVER been killed by a dps sorc in pvp in YEARS. even when playing another sorc myself xD numbers is clearly the problem here not skill

  4. like dragonage inquisition's ice buff thing that regens mana when u stand still.. only with damage. however!: i would LOVE to see say 2 yrs from now after no doubt many other game updates and changes see the sorc be alot more like: KOTFE/KOTET spoiler ahead: someone powerfull in the force but thats about it. stick a saber through their chest and they die but let them stay at range and do their thing and they would be as good if not better than others! sorc is a mage style class and right now it feels like all that lightning could bearly charge a phone... i agree 100% that sorc might not have ALWAYS been bad (over exaduration on my end) but it sure aint good right now. the main reason PVE wise ppl "ban" sorcs from their grps is cus pure dps.. ppl are fixated on it. i like the mechanic where u spam lightning stuff with a chance to get secondary attacks but they only work well if you constantly crit.. wich you dont... what im saying is gameplay wise sorc is ok right now. id love some new phasewalk mechanic like maybe teleport to a random loaction etc. but all over gameplay is fun. only problem is that the numbers are bad. and the fact that my 70 decently geared sorc is outpreformed by a lvl 57 merc is cus of this. pure numbers... realisticly speaking i doubt bw is gonna overhaul sorc anytime soon but at least change up some numbers would be nice. give all the lightning abilitys more base dmg and higher crit. so that if your LUCKY u might see a 20k crit here and there. but otherwise ur dps would stay similar to say sniper marksman... again im not sure how to aproach this but making threads like this will at least maybe help the devs see some kind of idea what others want.. idk...

UPDATE 2: i have done the transfer succesfully as of right now 06:05 norway time. and it showed in my transfer log. further checking if hes actualy in the game will be done but i wouldn't update on that as i dont expect it to be a problem. again thanks for getting this fixed. with that in mind i would imagen the transfer has something to do with server beeing overloaded or something? its not my server so i wouldn't know but i do know when i play say minecraft that if alot of stuff is going on on the server it slows down.. ofc thats minecraft local server in oposition to an mmo server but still, worth looking into i guess. as of the time i requested the failed transfer yesterday, it was not peak but close to peak hours on TRE. aka over 100 ppl on fleet. asuming the problem is caused by server strain/internett related issues id recomend trying your transfers when noone is playing. for TRE/eu servers that is usualy between 4-11 in the morning. this is ofc pure speculation but id say its harmless to try...
  6. UPDATE: i apear to have gotten my cartel coins back with a nice small bonus thanks alot BW! i shall try again to do the transfer and, i will keep updating the thread should things go unexected ways etc.

  8. i was transfering a char to TRE http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=9316004#post9316004 bug post there^^ same thing to me did the transfer but nothing happend and i lost cc.
  9. pretty simple realy... i prepared my char for departure and went to pay the ferryman then it said "an unexpected error acoured plz try again later" and i try again and boom lost my cc but character still not transfered. even says i had the transfer in my cc log. but if you see my transfer history it dosn't match up. i did indeed have enaugh cc and character space etc. only thing i had was some mail and thats it. i done this before several times just fine but yea i lost 90 cc (wich is fine but i now have 60 and cant do the transfer :C) i can actualy play on the un-transfered char right now no problem but ofc on the wrong server. if you need pictures etc just say so and i shall grab some. otherwise id like my char to get transfered or my cc back >_>
  10. i agree when it comes to sorc beeing "playable" i done plenty of master flashpoitns/uprising on my lightning sorc. wich i continue to main simply cus i like how it looks... however...: most ppl i see that says sorc is fine etc are ppl that have theirs in full 248 gear etc and that most likely are part of a raidteam/guild with other classes to not only carry them but also work together in a way where you most likely wouldn't even notice sorcs flaws... that said you dont need great base line stats to do end game content, you need a good TEAM. i have done countless hm and even NiM back in the day on my L-sorc just fine. my point is that with a good team say mara/merc dps combo. you beeing a sorc dmg, those 3 other mara/mercs can EASELY make up for ur entire dps should they be good skilled/geared. im not speaking stat wise here im speaking experience wise... i dont know about NiM as i been to lazy to do it lately but i asume its basicly the same there. if both your merc and sorc dps died who would you rez first? sorc is definatly viable but the problem isn't that its not... its that it is. me having played since roughly after launch i mained sorc form day one. i had my sorc be the first through every dlc and new content release to this wary day. and thats the problem although sorc had a handfull new abilitys spread across its diciplines it still arguably is stuck in pre-ROTHC update.. every time for a long time sorc remains that "just fine" class that is not awesome and not sht.. in the beginning it was fine having a non buffed sorc every update but recently its been to many updates... aka sorc dont age but merc do.. so merc is now a senile retired guy while sorc is still in its 20s trying to get its education... this is the problem... fix it.
  11. another problem i find is the poor defensives, they got one pure death defying ability wich is force barrier (aka god bubble) otherwise a 25% dmg resist for 6 sec aint gonna help against a 4x merc pre-made focusing you. with that in mind god bubble is nice if paired with teleport but due to merc having a "buggy" ability called electro net wich literly can DISABLE barrier completly. (only if aplied BEFORE you use barrier ofc) making the sorc ONLY good defense USELESS! now e-net is also seemingly bugged where in most cases you cannot even see it! so when u got close to 30 de-buffs on u cus the madness sorcs trying to get u u cant spot e-net in any way. (and cus it only can be cc breaked thats bad) ironicly unless the will thing or whetever its name is is of cd bubble is ur only other cc breaker xDDDDD USELESS! i do not know if the e-net / god bubble thing is a dumb feature or a bug but bubble literly says that it can be used when controlled etc. (i can confirm that that works too) but one lousy merc hits u with e-net and it cant be activated... like its still on cooldown (but obveusly its not)
  12. as said i had my 208 (old ranked geared) merc crit a 40k+ SEVERAL times on heatseekers ALONE during a MID TIER pvp match (my merc was 57 and didn't even have boltstorm or whatever yet xD)

  14. now sry for the clickbait-y title but i mean what it says, bear with me plz; now im not gonna talk to mouch about gear but sorc has a few issues... first off this is mainly based off pvp but HM+ ops as well. now the problem is as follows: sorc is weak. yes its weak... it has shabby defensives in pvp and low crits. the highest me and my friend ever saw on a sorc was a 13k crit. and that is after spamming all abilitys (in lightning spec specificly) over and over until one of them crits. in a realistic situation sorc vs anything else... ANYTHING in a fair 1v1 duel will most likely lose (unless the sorc player is way more skilled but this is a fair fight so he aint) . sorcs defensives for PVE are fine as a healer or 2 is usualy there to back you up but, in pvp thats usualy not the case. pvp lately to my experience suffers from matchmaking annoying-ness where enemy will have 4 healers and we will have none. this makes playing a damage sorc wary hard indeed. as the main defensives are static barrier wich imo dont do anything but look cool, and the other "god bubble" as i call it wich is good but after it ends you are 100% dead. you do have the teleport but becuase of how it works ppl can be waiting for you after u used it. also you must put it up BEFORE the fight. for the damage part sorcs just plain weak.. i played a lvl 57 merc during early 5.0 and had several consistant 25k-40k crits on several abilitys, mostly heatseekers. the hiighest my sorc ever had on what i considder to be its best burst ability: chain-lightning and the other shooting bubble thing (pardon me i cant think of its name now) was 11k.. that was on a 4p set bonus sorc in 230 gear (with one 236) all auged. my friend who's probably better geared hits around 13k. 40k on merc vs 13k on a sorc that is better geared AND higher level.. AND MY 11k CRITS AINT EVEN CONSISTANT! my sorc can cast 5 abilitys and do the same dmg as a merc does in ONE! dunno about you but that is sure not balance... for pve I literly seen several ops grps (on TRE, a pve server) say (example): LF 1T 3D 2H KP HM Must know tactics, NO SORCS ALOWED! and thats for KP wich i have dps-ed myself in hm as a 210 geared scoundrel in healer gear... that, i have not made up. id take a screenshot but it didn't fall into mind at the time. mhm... *clears throat* i also want to state why i compare sorc and merc: mostly is cus their so similar. both got healer spec both got dot spec and both got burst spec... they are also ranged/utility classes and their burst trees focus on speed/alacrity. making them the perfect comparison in my opinion. healer as of now feels like its fairly balanced. but the sorc dmg has been dear i say; notorius for beeing nerfed or "not buffed" for a dam long time... and i do not count the new MELEE STUN as a buff... pardon my ranting here i truly love the game ALOT but, to fix this i would suggest buffing ALL sorc dmg abilitys and i mean ALL. and also give static barrier's "cant use again on same target" debuff a longer timer, in exchange for mouch more defense. (maybe add passive in the legendary tree that does it and only gives more defense and cd to yourself and not other allies) i again apoligize for the rant style of this post and also im sure others already posted similar stuff but i wanted to get it out there anyways... all in all sorc always was my favorite class, but it has alot of cards stacked against it atm. plz share opinions as im sure im not the only one that has never seen a DPS sorc in pvp for MONTHS...
  15. indeed, i have seen wary few "good gold sinks" in this game. other than augumenting gear there is little that drains a solid amount of cash. (not that i want one though ;P)
  16. as the title suggests im about to dive into my personal opinions and facts about bots and economy within the game. first off i want to start with the problem. ECONOMY: the current game economy is inflated, meaning its easy to get credits but you need a boat load of it to buy anything cool. the inflation to my observation mostly only affect higher rarity items such as tunings and platinum items from the cartel market. what is cousing this?: well i tbh dont know for sure, but there is many things that could help contribute to it. a good example of this is the ultra rare items such as the "senya's lightsaber pike" and so on. now the inflation probably isn't purely from cm (cartel market) items but also from other things as well; mainly bots (otherwise known as gold sellers) that are grinding mobs for weeks on end to then sell the credits for real life cash. now just like real world economy credits gotta go somewhere. it dosn't just dissapear. so all the credits bought from them (however mouch it is) must go somewhere. that place is the GTN (as no other place require that mouch credits) what does this mean?: well it means that all the credits legit gotten or not goes into the gtn and thus to other players and back into the gtn. becuase of the fact that mobs ""generate" credits infinitly the bots can farm them and potentialy make infinite credits. sick right? and well i dont think i must say why infinite credits on the market is bad. POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS: before i wander into possible fixes for this epedemic i wanna state that i DO NOT want credits to be a hard thing to obtain. i always loved the fact that i could go do a few heroics then head to gtn and buy that cool new armor set i always wanted. with that in mind i do not wish to see the credit drop rates nerfed. how do we "fix" this?: well one way is to halt the bots farming capabilities: bot farming works like this: one master player with bots (aka computer controlled players) puts them on follow then head to a "grind zone". usualy a place where mobs cant get to you and mobs are gold difficulty and spawn often. such as ord mantel heroic area. click for a video made by myself for a example of bots grinding. if i were in charge i would start looking into mob de-spawn timers. it might not stop them but adding a say 1 hour loot timer could give the bots a harder time. and also not affect players, as nobody waits an hour to loot soemthing. simply implementing f2p restictions dont help, bots usualy come from big companys that does this in many games and thus have lots of money to buy a 1month sub and mail the credits to where it gotta go. another "fix" is to simply increase drop rates of platinum items. make them more common. i literly bought close to 100 packs back in the day and did not get even one arbiter saber. this just paints a picture of the rarity of these items. and rarity makes ppl want to sell it for more. if anyone agree or disagree or got solutions etc type em here

  18. yea, but imo gear is not the game. its important but not the game. most ppl i know play this either cus its starwars or cus they simply like the game etc. wich i do to. gearing simply allows you to acces more of the game wich is why adding GC system is dumb cus less ppl have gear/get gear easy and thus both gearing is hard (ppl leave) and content is lesser (ppl leave there too). this is a huge nail in the coffin for swtor's mmo parts imo! imo u can fix gear as mouch as u want but what game realy needs is something to make us stay. bioware has stated that they focus more on the "bioware" part of the game rather than the mmo wich for me personaly is fantastic but it dosn't mean mmo should be fogoten about (wich they said they havn't) we need something like SoR with both story new abilitys and mechanics (a gear fix) and also mmo aspects such as ops and especialy flashpoints (as flashpoints alow lower level players to do stuff to thus drawing even more ppl in) and not just 2 or 3 flashpoints im talking like a little pile say 4 or 5. all with SM Vet and master modes. (and add tokens to master mode)same thing with ops dont add just 1 add a couple.
  19. tbh i kinda agree, to a point. indeed my suggestion would be a bit "easy" but we still need a SURE way to get gear. atm thats not the case. as u rely on rolls and crates. im rank 23 on my highest guy and i got no clue how to effectively raise it. and thats my problem. its just to messy. ofc u could make it so only 1 peice a week instead of a day. rest stuff is like it is now. that way at least u would get something. and with server economy beeing inflated af buying crafted gear or mats to craft urself is not a good option either. or maybe make the cxp system not increase in xp requirement so say ur garantead a lvl every 1.5k xp or something. and with that also increase drop rate for better gear and reduce drop rate for other stuff like green gear and shells. this way u keep the system we have now and at least add SOME progression. but idk. anything is better then what it is now tbh
  20. imo to fix the whole thing just make cxp be earned faster and make LAST token for every OPS boss a garantea for every player. so at last boss every player attending is garantead a token. rest boss tokens would be rolled as normal and u can only get one "last-boss token" from each ops a day (like the bonus or whatever) so in a week u would have half a set seen that you lost all other rolls. that would fix the entire system for me tbh.

  22. so as title said, this is my and hopefuly others who comment's thoughts on the new gear. be warned im realy... lets call it "passionate" about this subject so !!!TRIGGER WARNING!!!. for a short version scroll down. now to make sure ppl know a bit about me i played roughly since launch, got 69(soon 70) 65+ chars (6 beeing boosted) and leagacy 50 on 3 servers. so point is i play/played alot. now when you played as mouch as i have u done pretty mouch everything that can be done. wich is roughly the case. i play on a regular day to day basis and love this game more than anything... now im sure everyone remembers the old gear system, good old weekend guild-hm runs and all that. now imma go straight to buisness here, i HATE (sry) the new gear system. WHY?: Well in a nutshell it makes gearing (and most importantly; progression) alot slower and mouch more in-consistant. the longer version is that with the new Command system (wich would be great as a side thing to the old one) feels too "new, casual player" oriented. so if all u do is rp and play heroics all day then yea this system is great but that is not the case for everyone, especialy not myself. as fun as heroics and rp is i also like doing other much more... "group needing" stuff such as ops and HM fp-s. before 5.1 doing ops in general was useless as all loot they gave was schematics that only crafters can use (and that is expensive to craft in quantety) and cxp. (command xp) and cxp could be gaind WAY more efficently by doing say fractured on vet mode. wich also requires lesser skill and few-er ppl not to mention time. dont even get me started on HM ops... AFTER 5.1 ops got some mouch needed purpose but even now it cant even hope to match the old system (in my eyes at least). now before i go on i wanna just add the fact that i talked to a tonn of ppl both new, old, experienced, and pvp-ers etc.. and 90% of them agreed with me that the old system was better. now a few said they like new one but still u took my point. back to ops: now with tokens dropping its better BUT they are not garantead like before, neither are they free (need command tokens to redeem them). imma tell you about what happend when i did ops last night: so i did first a SnV on sm (non GF) and it was fine. we got tokens on all exept 2-3 bosses. all in all it was an ok run but many of the ppl in the ops didn't get any loot what-so-ever. (not even a deco D: ) i did a second run after that joining in at last boss in DP, it was a guild run apparently and i was ofc "the outlander" of them all xD... anyways i asked if there was any loot rules and yeaa i was not alowed to roll for anything but non token stuff... ofc this is just regular douche-bag-ery but i wanted xp so i didn't whine about it. imo that is good example of whats wrong. even with tokens ppl simply cant be "trusted" and when tokens drop so few times simply beeing "alowed" to have a CHANCE at getting loot is well... DUMB! this was ofc a issue before 5.0 but there at least u was pretty mouch garantead at least ONE usefull item from ops (to mail to an alt if nothing else) and even if u didn't get loot for some reason you still got the nice commendations to buy gear from vendors yourself. sadly thats no longer the case... now this is turining into a rant rather quickly so hang on there: !UNDER HERE IS THE SHORTER VERSION! now i could go on forever why i dont like loot beeing rng and why and why and why... but im not cus ppl already know the problems. in short cxp system is a FREE version of cartel crates... just for gear. ur not garantead a gold drop and u mostl likely will just get jawa junk and a deco. ... same thing. dont think i need to explain why i hate that... now for tokens. they have a CHANCE at dropping and then you have another CHANCE at winning the roll between 8 greedy ppl. this whole new gear system can be discribed by 1 word: "chance" (chance like chance cubes?! O: coincidence? I THINK NOT!) anyways thats about it. the system mess with the old "secure/garantead way" to get good gear. and without good gear you wont be able to play the game how it should be played. and with no good way to get gear the general progression after u hit 70 dissapears completly.. every command level (wich takes FOREVER to lvl) feels like it is uselss as you wont get anything in packs anyway... and tokens well lets face it u wont win the rolls and even if u do u must grind packs to get tokens to even use them. now i could talk about crafting but imo nothing changed there its still... mediocre or however thats spelled at best and wont be up to standards with token gear. not even if you can craft the super expensive hard to get gear, wich well at least, i cant. (now keep in mind i havn't actualy tried the crafted gear so take it with a pinch of salt) post-70 progression imo is COMPLETLY GONE now... any thoughts? i just want ppl to take note lol... im not writing out of hate but out of hope ... hope that this will be fixed xD type YES! if you agreed with anything i said lol... or NO! if you dont.
