  1. Just a thought, maybe there should be a slight change to the health cap for each planet. The level cap is fine, but when I go from level 8 to level 9, I would rather not see my health reduce by 25% - thats just stupid. The max health should be increased to represent the highest it could be obtained at the level cap. If the level is capped at 34 and I could have obtained 19k health, I dont think it would be a good idea for my health to reduce to 9.3k just because I go from level 34 to level 35. A level 34 would kick a level 35's butt in a duel on that planet. Just a suggestion.
  2. Anyone having problems logging in? "The login service is currently unavailable" for me.
  3. My opinion: Level sync should be optional for subscribers only. Level sync not given to free to play and mandatory for preferred players. I strongly believe that arguing for one side will get us nowhere. And so I recognize that the benefits of level sync are relevant. Some believe that ganking is an issue and that level sync solves that. Some also believe by being the same level as all their enemies they can more help their allies win battles while also getting experience -thus making it more relevant to help their allies. Everyone is different and what they want and how they want to play is different as well. For this reason alone I feel that many things should be optional. For instance playing PVP flagged or not is optional, as well, as what class we want to play or being dark or light. Choices and options are abundant and what makes this game so available and playable. That being as much, the challenge, I believe, is making the game actually, optional. For instance, if one sith, pvp flagged, who chooses to be level synced is level 26 on tattooine comes to a trooper, pvp flagged, who chooses not to be level synced is level 50. Both being flagged, the trooper could wipe the sith. So. The sync is a solution for pvp ganking and for some added promotion of RPing. But. Level syncing kills a lot of people's problem with PVEing and also their own form of RPing. The solution is evident that if made optional one thing should be made mandatory. If someone decides to take themselves off level sync then they also will be made to have their pvp flag turned off. That way they could not then gank someone, unless they decided to apply their level sync on their character. Another problem though is if you turn your level sync off then a small issue arises because your companion and your character will both be OP - though not a major issue because a level 50 fighting level 15s wont be a major issue if your comp is also OP. But still, fixing your OP comps is another issue.
  4. I disagree with "it provides more of a challenge". They simply OPed your companion and then made you more weaker. It doesnt make it harder or easier, just more annoying. You have to kill more mobs from pulling everything and guess what, your companion could whoop your butt - looks like vette could get her revenge soon.
  5. I keep each of my 10 characters with 10 million each. If they go over 10M by a certain amount I'll buy something nice on the gtn for that particular character.
  6. Ok, it has been a few weeks now of people playing level sync and we should all be well versed in its positives and negatives. Any opinions as of late? Mine is that it should be optional except in a few chosen spots - where it should be mandatory. It should be mandatory in pvp designated spots (tatt), and I believe it should be mandatory in the heroic areas (to keep the same system and not allow a 65 character to barrel through all the lowbie heroics for great rewards).
  7. Agreed. Optional. Mandatory for certain areas including free-for-all pvp areas and world boss areas.
  8. Step 1: Create Elv'rialok - a gunslinging, cowboy hat wearing, twilek. Step 2: Buy good cowboy hat on gtn (plus numerous other things). Step 3: Wear cowboy hat. Step 4: Find out that the cowboy hat is clipping on twilek tentacles. Step 5: Realize I spent a lot of credits and cartel coins and its too late to re-roll a character. Step 6: Go to fleet to give up on twilek to create: Elv'rialok - a gunslinging, cowboy hat wearing, beard and mustache, human. Spent 800 cartel coins on the change. Step 7: Realize that every cowboy hat makes the beard go away. Now its a creepy mustache wearing, gestapo. Step 8: Sigh. Step 9: Spend 800 more cartel coins to change Elv'rialok back to the exact same twilek. Gives up on cowboy hat. Step 10: Pleads to SWTOR to refund 1600 cartel coins for a botched clipping problem.
  9. I should point out that the masses are also F2P and preferred
  10. It is already way to easy to level up. Why the heck would I want something to make me level up even faster? Now - because I dont need the experience and because its a black hole of time to go back to previous planets, I will probably just skip all material/missions of planets that are beneath me. Basically, I lost end-game material because people would go to low level planets to enjoy the non-threatening atmosphere.
  11. Before level sync: **slaughter slaughter slaughter slaughter slaughter** After level sync: "Dammit! This womp rat is kickin my ***!"
  12. I agree. I like every change but level sync. I cant actually play the game without wincing because of it. I hope they actually read these reviews and realize that half the people like it and half the people dont like it. Possibly losing half of your population is worse than reverting it back to no sync and maybe getting some people who like sync to be upset.
  13. In my opinion, they should make it optional for the vast majority of the swtor world. Places like pvp-specific settings (tattooine pvp area) and world boss areas -sure, have it there to reduce ganking and a high level player to kill a WB to give items to lowbie characters. But now. It is very time consuming. I'm level 56 walking around level 46 and I have to beat down every single person, where before I was able to walk past them. The level sync, imo, is a game breaker. I understand that they want to increase groups and group play, but by doing this strategy, they are killing the solo player. I loved going to FP's and beating down level 10s - who are you to say what I can and cant do with a game I pay for? Now - I dont want to do a single flashpoint later in my end-game. That's pretty much what happened here. You finally hit level 60 and you have all these ops and 60 FPs - but another aspect of end game is to go to the original planet of Tython and show everyone your power. Now, on tython I'm a level 60 with 2000 health - not so grand. It really killed some end-game experiences. You have to have every end-game experience you can muster because every player will eventually reach end-game and if they dont have experiences to keep them there - they dont play anymore. /add And another note. I'm a mo*$^# fu&$*%* darth, dude. And I am having problems killing a rat on tattooine - no way. It should be instant death for that rat. That's lore breaker. We were very ok knowing that some troopers were unexplainably weak one one planet but very strong on another - and thats still the case. But this is an RPG where level gains is important.
  14. Dude - a larger file means a lot more stuff changing. Cool your jets. Youd leave a game because you need instant gratification? I would suggest you let the game install over the day and dont even touch your computer. Its the biggest patch so far - its going to take awhile.
  15. sigh!!! Found the first bug, already! Logged on and realized I didn't have all my problems fixed. I still had the same amount of credits - like, wth, right? I mean, my character doesn't have god mode applied. How do we get that again? Control Z, right? Now I'm looking around and realize my dog still has to be walked. Bioware... you failed with this update. All of my problems are the same!
  16. 13. Ok - this will probably never happen so dont slam it too hard. But the game is too easy at times. So instead trying to make yourself weaker (taking off gear, for instance), there could be a way to make individual servers of varying difficulty levels. For instance, have one pvp server, then three pve servers, which one is normal mode, one is hard mode, and one is brutal mode. 14. Be able to block a person's account. This would be an easy solution for credit spammers. 15. Ok, legacy datacrons is an awesome idea but now you have something in the game that many people don't need to worry about - the datacrons. Instead of completely erasing them from existence, make it where those who still enjoy the challenge (or miss the challenge) of the datacrons still get something in return. My thoughts would be to get matrix shards instead - which means that we should be able to make better and more complex relics from the shards. 16. Increase the amount of money needed to become a preferred player. Say, $10. But, increase the amount of credits that they can hold. Say, 500,000 credits. 17. I love walking into a storyline - it can be very immersive but it sucks when I have to press the walk button when I go into combat. It would be nice if you automatically run when you go into combat.
  17. Yeaaah, I'm talking about something you actually que up for and keeps a score going. Think old school 007 on n64. They could take the maps of different settings around the swtor planets and make them into a free-for-all q'd-up pvp battle.
  18. 12. Allow your companions to use titles that you earn or buy from GTN/CC market.
  19. 11. PVP battle with 16 people. But it's free-for-all. I mean, why hasnt this been done already? And where is capture the flag too?
  20. 9. Have some better way to sort the items in cargo hold. For instance, being able to sort by level requirement and by alphabetically, would be great. 10. For stronghold items, have a container or item in which you can store your blaster/lightsaber collections. I mean, a lot of people collect them and itd be nice to show them off at our stronghold. Think, trophy room. That also brings up a good item! Animal trophies from all the beasts you have beaten. Think Calo Nord's room on Taris in SWTOR. Make it a reward for an achievement: beat 1000 Rancors on Belsavis, here is your Rancor head trophy!
