  1. Kill confirmed. Kudos for finding the right place for HK, future generations of players will thank you for this info ;-) Two down, eleven to go. Keep up the good work.
  2. Actually I'm more interested in companion management there @Agathon and Japorms: Got your prize money to Harbinger and sent PMs to both of you for contact info.
  3. Totally agree. Force Shroud and Deflection shouldn't be defensive cooldowns but passives with 100% uptime. Also, nobody needs Shield Chance. If I have a shield generator which (given the right procs and dcds) can absorb 100%, then make it a permanent effect, absorbing 100% of incoming damage. I'm a former dark councillor and the dreaded outlander after all, I don't use low quality shield generators that fail to work half the time. During cutscenes, I can easily kill anyone with a single shock. I demand the same ability while I'm in control, so enemies die the moment I press 3. And the lousy 10 meters make no sense too. Back on Alderaan I shocked the guards of Lady Rist to death from far more than 10 meters. Finally, I'm using a f*cking lightsaber, not a toy. If I hit something with it, it has to die. Period. Of course, other people (or god forbid npcs) may not receive similar mechanics. One last thing: On Corellia, Thanaton was seen flying. I took Thanatons place. Why can't I fly?
  4. Alright. There's someone on Harby who still ows me a few hundred anyway, so I'll see what I can do. Might take a day or two though. I'll keep you posted via PM.
  5. Interesting solution, I thought of kiting it throughout the map but it resets at the start of the tunnel. At least apparantly nobody else did kite it around the console until now. You just accomplished (probably) a world first and the unimaginable. Congratulations :-) Since theoretically it could always reach you - yeah, why not? Which server do you play on / may I award you on a EU server?
  6. If a human is eager to do something, he/she is interested in it. If a human is interested in something, he/she will happily spend time with it. If a human spends time with something, he/she will learn how it works. If a human learns how to do something, he/she will improve. According to the law of transitivity, humans eager to do something will improve upon it. Your argument is invalid.
  7. I will, yes. However, I don't want vids privately anyway. Just post your videos in this thread. Kilran has been taken down by now, though the player has rejected the prize. Regarding Sav-Rakk further above: I spent the afternoon messing around Lost Island. L52 Sentinel is a decent challenge and required some thinking to take down. (Mainly timing and companion repositioning.) That Savrip though. When I finally managed to keep my companion alive long enough, it turned red at about 40% remaining. I both doubt it is possible to get that much more damage as a tank or tank it as a dps... Light armor at least. Marauder is probably the best choice again. Of course, uptime and thus damage are mostly depending on luck. Invited a friend and finally took it down after some tries, then tried the rest alone again. Bonus boss is certainly impossible. Companions are hit by the same mechanic down on the ground that insta-kills range dps who try to shoot from the bridge: As soon as the icicles start falling, the companion is instantly frozen solid and can't be moved. One might try to use Extraction or group-wide anti-movement-impairation skills (looking at marauders and their predation again) but I doubt it's efficacy. Finally hit Lorrick and gave up after an hour and a half. With anything below full tank gear the incoming damage was too high. Flurry of bolts requires two people to interrupt every time and hits a dps like a truck. As a tank, after all these years I finally got to know the inhabitants of the last two Kolto Tanks: Two champions called Dr Simlo and Dr Proxinus - who has about 950k hp. Long story short: Proxinus seems to function as some sort of enrage mechanic. That guy... Well, no. Let's just say, a group who meets Proxinus doesn't deserve to see the boss dead. Period. In order to avoid him, it would have to be played either as a skank or dps. In which case I was killed by regular damage. Skank juggernaut appears to be the best option. Anyway, difficulty is adequate. Added both the bonus and Lorrick to the list. Only 25m for the bonus in case there actually is a way to free the companion, in which case the whole thing probably turns rather cheap.
  8. Obvious troll is obvious. 1) The title. It just screams "Hey, I'm an idiot who can't walk straight". Nothing constructive in it. 2) Ghetto Speak. Spelling and grammar are far over the top. Come on, nobody writes THAT bad. 3) Content. Again, nothing even remotely allows people to feel with the OP. He/she just hits point black into "I don't suck, the game does - get a life elitists" territory. These are only circumstantial evidence of course. However, there is one thing that gives the troll away: Mentioning Dulfy by him-/herself as soon as people recommend reading guides. If he/she actually was that ignorant, he/she wouldn't know where to find them. @OP: Not bad though, people might actually fall for it. Next time tone down the slang a bit and don't mention anything a complete noob wouldn't know.
  9. That's why the incentive is set at 50 million. That money doesn't come out of nowhere but of my pockets. Can I imagine anyone succeding in one of the 50m challenges? Honestly? No. If someone does, however, he/she certainly deserves a reward. Can I imagine anyone succeding in one of the 25m challenges? Yes, definitely. I don't cough up random numbers. I've tried anything on the list myself and classified them into difficulty levels "given enough effort, this should be possible" and "no way". Maybe some are easier than I expected. Kilran, maybe? I don't know how you did it. My companion kept dying to Series of Shots fired through two feet of metal. Is it possible I did something wrong? Probably. Is it possible, Solana is just the better player? Certainly. Just watch the 3.X starparse assassin leaderboards. However, there is certainly not a single boss harder than expected. This is not a lottery. This is a challenge to reach and surpass the limits the game puts upon us, to see what can be done. Of course they are unfair - that's the whole point. Their mechanics are specifically catered to be a challenge for a full group. I don't expect people to succeed, but if they do... Do I care if I lose 400m? Well... probably. I'd have to lie if I said I didn't. However, it is for a (imho) worthy cause.
  10. It is possible to get the companion to stand behind that thing prior to entering combat. During the fight, however, it will be knocked around a bit every time Garold tries to pull it. Eventually it would be pulled out and repositioning it in combat proved to be extremely difficult (usually followed by the companion falling down the elevator). Eventually one would have to find some special pixels to position Garold and the companion so as not to have it fly around... or depend on sheer luck. Anyway, if someone wants to try Garold: Use a marauder. Force Camo interrupts the Force Storm and should be ready every time. I never reached the enrage, so I really can't say how realistic it is, only that it's suitably hard for this challenge.
  11. ....Fail. Back when I tried Lost Island, I reached Sav-rakk after some time and gave up after hours of hitting the wrong button. When I checked Youtube, I came upon . I honestly never watched it until now... I saw the title (Solo Lost Island HM), saw a character wearing Wings of the Architect and Crest of the Dread Masters and just assumed nobody would upload something where they wipe three times at the first boss, then give up.... So it seems L65 Solo Lost Island remains to be done. The L55 one certainly was impressive though.
  12. @Solana: Sounds fun. Unfortunately, I didn't do much testing on Fallen Empire. I'd love to see this being recorded (it isn't on YT yet, I believe) prior to 5.0 though and since you're not in it for the money anyway... go for it @Deldra: I wouldn't say impossible... just extremely hard. Also, depending on class, you need different amounts of sheer luck. I managed to survive about 9 minutes and got it down to about 55%... that's about as far as it's possible without depending on luck
  13. Depending on how much dps one can achieve, 3^4 to 3^6 possibilities, yes. However, there IS a kill vid on youtube already. Of course, please provide new vids to ensure it's done after the companion nerf.
  14. As you wish. In that case I'll keep the bounty available for someone else to claim. Corrected in the original post and added two other bosses.
  15. Excellent. So just get me a vid and I'll try to reach an associate on TRE. I just need a verification for this list - after all, every offer counts only once, so the first one to post a vid gets to claim the kill.
  16. TL;DR: Bounty for flashpoint bosses, See list below. So I thought I'd add a little bit of motivation to those maybe twenty people in the world who use keyboard and mouse instead of fishing rod controllers or guitar hero drumsticks. I hereby announce bounties on taking down the following hard mode flashpoint bosses solo prior to game update 5.0. Obviously I don't know how difficulty will scale up. Each offer counts only once, prove your claims by posting kill videos below. Also, only regular kills are valid. please don't try to cash in by bugging into weird places where the boss can't reach you. Clipping casts via Force Camouflage and the likes are encouraged, just stay clear of the weird stuff. To those people asking what counts as solo: companions are allowed, of course. Players don't count as companions. If you're still not sure, check out my signature for examples. As far as I know, they have never been beaten that way... So you'll not just fight for money, but glory and honour. Asteroid Beast @Hammer Station: 50m Garold the Dark @Cademimu: 25m I5-TI (whatever that second boss droid is actually called) @Korriban: 50m whatever that bonus boss droid is actually called @Manaan: 25m Stivastin @Manaan: 50m Commander Mokan @Battle of Rishi: 50m Kyramla'Gemasrugam @Blood Hunt: 50m KR-82 Expulsor @Kaon: 25m Taken down by T_T_P of Red Eclipse Project Sav-Rakk @Lost Island: 25m Transgene Icicle (whatever the bonus boss is actually called) @Lost Island: 25m Dr. Lorrick @Lost Island: 50m The following bosses have been killed solo successfully since L65 is out. However, I still deem them sufficiently difficult to be eligible for a reward. Grand Moff Kilran @Maelstrom Prison: 25m Sword Squadron Unit 1 @Battle of Rishi: 25m Good luck and good hunting. (Keep in mind I can only pay on EU servers, excluding Darth Nihilus or the Red Eclipse... Though I probably could get an arrangement with some other businessmen on TRE and Harbinger)
  17. Not directly related to the topic but as apparantly my hm flashpoint videos keep being mentioned, I got to correct something: After the first vids took forever, I tried my best to keep the rest short - hence most are below 30 minutes. Anyway - thanks for pointing them out. I recorded them for that very reason (to prove the difficulty isn't hard) and obviously I enjoy people acknowledging my work.
  18. Aye, thanks (though it's down). It seems I got your first post on the wrong foot. I was currently raging about some hm flashpoint threads. Please forget it and let me explain again. I agree it is far easier for the tanks to learn clean swapping than kiting, hence it is certainly preferable in a pug Raid. However, pugs on my server don't get so far. Our population is in the three digits (both factions combined). There are the groups who go there of which two are still trying. I doubt there is a two digit number of groups who get through anything other than EV/KP on HM. Groups who try this encounter on this server usually have one person who probably requires one or two days to learn it (far longer than the 20 minutes for swapping), but since this usually happens while the rest doesn't know what to do either, it doesn't matter if they wipe. By the time the person who's kiting Raptus knows what he/she's doing, the one at Bestia knows too. Hence there is no actual delay for the group. When growing a new tank for an old group, I definitely agree with you. But since there are no people left on this server, my perception is probably biased.
  19. Gear does matter somewhat in non-bolstered environments and even there only some NiM endbosses and very few in HM. We once had a 174 pvp gear equipped tank @ highlighted Dread Fortress during 4.X and it was no problem. Knowledge, skill and movement are what matters. The buddy mentioned above didn't get the Conqueror of the Dread Fortress title back then for standing around in shiny gear. However, all HM flashpoints include bolster, thus your statement is invalid regarding Battle of Rishi. proves the Flashpoint can be done alone. Yes, I am wearing 224 equip. Can one player wearing 224 gear do more damage while taking less than a full 220 equipped group? Arguably, but their combined stats are certainly much higher. So don't blame gear when the problem is skill. proves that gear does not matter for flashpoints in general. Please don't ridicule yourself by claiming Kyramla'Gemasrugam cannot be compared to the Shield Squadron Unit. It can and if necessary, a video with four naked people clearing BoR will be provided.
  20. Add another way to increase companion influence besides dialogue and gifts. After all, you cannot talk to cartel market companions. Instead, as there is a kill counter already for the achievement system, let kills increase influence too. The issue is the amount. Make it too high, and people start farming. Keep it too low, and it's worthless. My idea is as follows: A L50 character needs 383,780 experience points to get reach L51. On a level-synched planet (Coruscant), he/she receives 906 / 2,721 / 6,810 xp per local max level white, silver or gold mobs respectively. (Rested experience included, no other bonuses such as DvL armor, experience boost, whatsoever.) As a reference regarding trash mob distribution, I just did a nose count in the Black Hole (open world, hence outside quest instances, not including base guards). Apparantly, there are 201 hostile NPCs running around the black hole at any moment. I found 160 white, 29 silver and 12 gold mobs. 906*160 + 2,721*28+6,810*12 = 305,589. 383,780 / 305,589 ~ 1.256 So apparantly on L50, I would have to kill 1.26 times the population of the Black Hole, or 252 people, corresponding to 201 white, 36 silver and 15 gold mobs to increase one level. (Actually it's a bit lower as for some reason I could only find L16 mobs on Coruscant while being synched down to 18. Still, let's keep it at that.) Companion influence levels increase linear by 200 points each (from L3 onward) as can be seen here:http://dulfy.net/2015/10/21/swtor-fallen-empire-companion-influences-guide/#How_Influence_Works L49 costs 9,700 points, L50 9,900, Let's assume 10,100 points for the hypothetical companion influence level 51. They still need to take responsibility to complicity of murder and property damage in 252 cases, This time, however, we don't want 383,780 but only 10,100 points. 10,100 / 383,780 ~ 0.026. This multiplied with the experience stated above nets us 23.84 (make it 25) influence per white. 71.61 (make it 70) influence per silver and 179.22 (make it 180) influence points per gold mob. This does not take champions into account, but frankly most of them don't run around randomly. Just make it 300 (-ish). Additionally, increase influence straight by 5/10 levels when reaching the 100/1000 kills achievements. After all, if your companion kills a thousand people, one might think he/she learned a thing or two about fighting along the way.
  21. So I just voided a L60 token, because I still assumed they would be only voided by reaching L61 as it was the case several months ago and did a quest prior to deleting. Not going to rant about this... As the legal owner of any virtual property here, Bioware/EA according to the EULA we all accepted is entitled to change anything within the service at any time without notice. Obviously it was my fault not to read the (in my wrong assumption) same dialogue box at the character creation every time. So, what I am suggesting, is the following. When playing with an L60 token character, at the moment they'd void their token, display a warning about this point of no return. Just as a n f2p reaching their max level while anyone else can levelup further, stop them 1 xp prior to reaching Level 61. Instead of levelling up, display a warning similar to character deletion, where you have to type ACCEPT or something similar, in order to make sure people read it. Display the same warning when trying to accept any quest reward instead of granting the quest reward. Display the same warning when trying to send any crew member on a mission (both crafting or gathering). As long as the player has not accepted voiding his character token, treat them like an f2p in regards to receiving xp, do not let them receive any pending quest reward and do not let them do any crew skills and do not void the L60 token. After accepting at any of the points described above, void the token and treat it like a regular character. Should be a quick and easy fix and decrease customer frustration.
  22. Well, as he/she's asking about cleansing, I assume he/she's asking from a healer perspective. Also, since most pug tanks (assuming they don't ignore the adds completely) will fail to control the adds in time, it comes down to the healer knowing how to survive the dots on him/herself. Evasion as an operative purges them all. Evasive Imperative (Heroic Utility decreasing Evasion cooldown) may help in case of bad luck and the wrong add group spawning too often. (Should not be the case, statistically.) Force Barrier on a sorcerer does the trick too. Corrupted Flesh (Masterful Utility decreasing incoming periodic damage), Static Barrier and Suppression (Masterful Utility increasing damage reduction while Cloud Mind is active), as well as Force Haste (Heroic Utility decreasing Force Barrier cooldown) may help. Mercenaries somehow got the low end of the stick. Suit F.O.E. (Masterful Utility decreasing periodic damage after cleansing) will certainly improve your quality of life. Energy Rebounder (Heroic Utility decreasing Energy Shield cooldown) and Protective Field (Masterful Utility increasing incoming healing while Energy Shield is active) may help. Keep in mind this pick of utilites are not necessarily ideal for the fight in general. However, if anyone else in your pug group (especially the tank) is useless and you end up being tackled by a horde of adds as a healer, take them. Also, on the sidelines: if you're using a surround sound system, you may easily hear where the shuttles are going to land without needing to turn your camera upwards. Of course, picking between visual and audible clues comes down to personal preference.
  23. Because as soon as you're wearing a crystal, you cannot tank swap any longer and every crystal left means increased group damage in phase four and five. We don't want that. Of course one might argue that the risk involved in kiting Bestia is too high and guaranteed increased group damage may be preferable. However - just as anything else - with training and knowledge, this risk can be minimized. Those tanks who are able to kite Bestia efficiently, decrease the required heal output by a large margin. Man learns through pain and repetition. It's the same with many mechanics in the game. Anything that does not inevitably kill you outright (being thrown off the platform at the machine core due to failing to look into the right direction comes to mind), is punished by damage. Failing to hit one of Brontes' energy orbs with a tentacle or not touching it at exactly 19 stacks? Unnecessary group damage. Failing to destroy all of the Terror from Beyond's small anomalies in time? Unnecessary group damage. Failing to interrupt all casts of Kephess' droids? Unnecessary group damage. Failing to form a line/cone behind the tank and not being knocked away by the knock-add, while Styrak's first Kell Dragon throws spikes? Unnecessary group damage. The list goes on and on. Just as failing to get all throne crystals, none of the examples above spells certain doom for your group. If you can solve the challenges the game throws at you the correct way reliably, however, this should be done. After all, from a tank perspective, "correct" means "minimizing incoming damage for the whole group" or in other words "how can I allow my healers to do as much damage as possible". You wouldn't ignore Draxus' Mass Affliction, just because relying on nearly every single group member being able to interrupt at the right time is too bothersome, and can be healed through, would you? Anyway. This approach worked fine for us during nightmare power, so we held on to it.
  24. Yup. I just felt this fact needed to be highlighted again. People apparantly tend to ignore it for the sake of "I did X back then, you didn't - so you don't deserve the chance to do it now". In case of subscriber rewards, this makes sense one way or another (at least that's what they are for ). I won't argue with that. How people can advocate not fixing bugs, is beyond me. . .
  25. Sub rewards are BWs way to ensure people stay subscribers. After all, they want paying customers. Adding otherwise unobtainable achievement points, is their right. However, stuff that was broken from day one (Treek) is inexcusable. Galactic Loremaster doesn't work due to stupidity. There was no reason at all to remove something, that added atmosphere to the Makeb storyline. Instead, I get a stupid Makeb Gazebo with each new toon. The Ilum stuff I'll probably never do anyway. However, they don't work because they messed up the bolster system. Back then, there was the special Ilum bolster. Now there is level synch, which is just the same with another name. As the content (recurring Gree event) is still in the game, this is obviously a bug that ought to be fixed. Solution: remove non existing Treek points. Put the Makeb staged weekly back where it was. Remove Ilum bolster requirement. Don't change the rest, since creating special content (=achievement points) subscriber-only, is their right as a profit-orientated company. Selling bugged content isn't.
