  1. I ran my Jedi through Kotfe and kotet and grabbed her hubby from the terminal the first moment I could. My agent was my first toon and they will have to pry Vector out of Inari's cold dead hands. At this point I won't even run her through Iokath on the slim (or not so slim) chance that BW will realize it doesn't yank vanilla companion away and decide to "fix" that.

My bugboy is my favorite companion. I'm a young widow in real life, I don't need my virtual husband taken too. It seriously upset me to have my jedi's Doc snatched away, thank you BW for dancing on that emotional trigger.

No no, Vector and Inari will spend their time powering through heroics and flashpoints so that they can lavishly decorate their sky palace and raise their daughter in the lap of luxury, Bioware can keep their grubby claws off my happy headcanon, lol.

  2. Now insert Lana for Samara. Steadily creeping closer to the player...closer...closer...closer...does she have nefarious intentions or not!? LANAPHOBIA. (...seriously, Lana, back off, you're getting a tad creepy now.)

ROFL! I feel this is accurate. She's coming for my Vector. I know she wants to take him away from me. She's all "Why won't you love me? Oh, it's the bugboy. Well, I'll fix that." Cue Jaws theme.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the galaxy.

  3. One alt of mine that is permanently parked in ch1 of Kotfe and still has the original crew did not lose any of them by going to Iokath.

Well, that makes two confirmed instances of not losing companions. I haven't seen any irate posts from people about losing them either. I'm starting to feel safer about this. Thing is, I don't trust the devs not to steal my companions so they can force me to be friends with Lana, lol. I have dev induced Lanaphobia.

  4. So, I'm a touch paranoid about vanilla companions. I know one person said they did not suffer companion loss, but is there anyone else out there who can confirm that? I have not run my agent through kotfe or kotet because I don't want to lose Vector. I want to run her through WoI but having run another toon through the new stuff I don't think it's worth doing unless I know, without a doubt, that Vector is safe.
  5. I don't care if vector views her a traitor. She's too busy making babies with Theron. :p

    Lmao.

Cool, you make those babies with Theron. Your Vector can join me on my ship and I'll just have a collection of Vectors, lol. I love my bugboy.

Seriously, I am refusing to run my agent through until I know when/if/how Vector comes back. I ran my Jedi knight through and lost my hubby, not doing that with my Imp main. I will probably run some alts through though.

  6. YEah, no more mains are going through the expansions unless their LIs are brought back in game. I have a lower level Jedi knight who I plan to level up and play through KOTFE and KOTET with a Theron romance. I liked Theron, but my Jedi main is married to Doc and remained faithful to him.

I am choosing to take the addition of Quinn and Dorne as a good sign. I must hold out hope for an Aona/Doc reunion that I don't have to write myself. If that doesn't happen it looks like I'll be returning to writing fanfiction in addition to my professional writing.

  7. Honestly, I'd hold out for a little while. I ran my Jedi Knight through and never got my LI back in game. The story wasn't engaging enough to make the loss worth it in my book. That being said, I did have fun with it, but I feel that a lot of the writing was weak and had some giant plot holes. Obviously, I'm a story player so that may bother me more than it does you. My recommendation would be to run an alt through first and then decide if your mains should go through it.
  8. That would be fantastic. I think the devs need to be a little more communicative about the whole issue. This thread is over 30 pages long, that's a pretty good indicator that this is not a complaint by a niche group or one that's going to go away. If they'd just come out and confirm that the old companion are returning in story it would ease a lot of frustration from players. As it stands, I think a lot of people feel like they're being strong armed into trading a game they enjoyed for one they never asked to play.
  9. I'm not a rage quitter but I'll be honest, the missing companions bother the living hell out of me. Granted my reasons are probably different from most of the people here. I'm a young widow, swtor offered some fun escapism where my characters got to have husbands that were alive in a manner of speaking. Just a game, yes, but it was a nice distraction. I ran my Jedi knight through and lost my Doc, talk about hitting a tender nerve. Yes, alright, I got him back through the terminal, but he's not really back. (I know he isn't super popular, but Aona loves him and misses him.)

My Empire main will not be running through the expansions until I know when and where Vector will return. I've had that toon for five years now and Inari is not gonna lose her bugboy! I've kind of had my fill of losing spouses. Enduring that in real life, in your twenties tends to sour one of the experience in game. Hey, maybe I should throw the young widow card at the devs. Sad thing is, I'm only partially joking, lol. The other sad thing is that it wouldn't get the devs to pull their heads out of their butts.
