  1. The fact that it's taken so long only leads me to believe that they are not capable of providing a solid service for something like this. It's been a year FFS! There are only a handful of servers per region now. Paid server transfers would have been nice back in February. Both RIFT and Warhammer offer server transfers for free. But, knowing EAware, if and when they ever implement such a feature, they will probably charge for it. Because we all know a server transfer in this game is worth forking out cash for.
  2. The population was high after the first mega-merger too. Just saying.
  3. There are no more or less people on The Harbinger than there were when the game first launched. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the CS for their server infrastructure has become lax since the game went F2P. My experience has been **** for the past few weeks, even during the non-peak hours. There is an obvious decrease in performance across the board. So it has nothing to do with more players on the servers. They are not even "Full".
  4. Achievements are something I've been wanting for this game since as long as I can remember. They are my favorite form of fluff content. I really like your ideas for the PvP achievements. Things that award titles for PvP kills, damage/healing done, medals earned, etc. would be extra incentive for players to continue PvPing apart from the gear. Back in March, they said they were working on an internal layout for an achievement system. I don't know why that wasn't done before launch or if they are even still working out it. But it would be one of the biggest improvements they could make to the game. People love achievements! And please, fix the Codex!!!
  5. Yeah, let's encourage them more into thinking that "their game is awesome and people love to play it".
  6. Meh, it's too late to make that decision now. This is a choice that should have been made in the earliest stages of development. The way the game plays now, it's as if they started out laying the foundation for an MMO, but then got carried away with the RPG elements (it's Bioware afterall) and didn't bother to balance it out before release. So what we ended up with is an RPG game with some multiplayer elements sprinkled on top.
  7. Of all the things someone would unsubscribe for, this is your's? Pathetic. I've had a whopping total of 5 or so romantic conversations with my companion and she hasn't talked to me since. That was almost a year ago. Hell, I didn't even know we were supposed to be married until someone else brought it to my attention like 2 months later in a thread here. And I just love how the entire relationship unfolded in about 5 minutes of back-to-back cutscenes in the cockpit of my ship. Believe me, the romance arcs are not nearly what they were cut out to be. I've seen more developed love stories in a Disney movie.
  8. GW2 says hello. The trinity system is the bread and butter of PvE in an MMO. If you don't have it, then nothing makes sense and it's just a game of people running around attacking things without order. And that is not a very enjoyable experience.
  9. Yeah, lets have them add more servers so when the population drops off before then end of the year (like we all know it will), you guys can complain that the population is spread too thin. Honestly, people like the OP who complain about having to wait a little in a queue are the #1 undisputed reason why this game has failed as hard as it has. Bioware was obsessed with having a smooth launch and shot themselves in the foot by adding so many servers at the start so the kiddies wouldn't complain about queue times. ****.
  10. The fact that many people have been complaining about waiting in queues when none of the servers are displayed as "Full" would support the idea that they are lying about either the caps or the displayed status. I wouldn't put it past them at this point anyways.
  11. I agree with the OP. Companions are great for their romance, story and the little cutscenes we get with them. But the fact that we are required to use them every time we want to quest just makes them feel like a crutch. My own character feels far less heroic because I can't do anything without the help of my companion. It honestly feels like playing a permanent pet class. That's the one thing I missed most while playing SW:TOR; being able to just go out into the world and kill things on my own without hearing or seeing another NPC attached to my side 24/7. And yes, the fact that companions are an absolute necessity just to complete the most basic tasks in this game is one of the core reasons as to why it doesn't feel like an MMO. I can tell you with certainty that I would have enjoyed this game much more if companion characters either didn't exist or were merely an addition to your class story and ship.
  12. Pros: -Star Wars -Lightsabers -Jedi Knights Cons: -Bioware -EA -Game's engine
  13. Why should they open up more servers when we all know the populations will start to drop off again in the coming weeks? Just wait it out a little longer. The remaining 2 servers in this game will be back to 24/7 Light/Standard population soon enough and then you can make another post whining about how long the queue times are.
  14. You guys remember the "Wall of Crazy" they used to bring up all the time, pre-launch? I wonder if anything from the Wall has been added to the game since then? I doubt Free to Play was on that Wall of Crazy. Do you think it still exists?
  15. 1. The Hero Engine. This is, in my honest opinion, the number one underlying cause that has and will continue to hold back this game's true potential. It doesn't matter what they add to the game, if it's foundation is unstable, it will never amount to much. 2. More sandbox elements. This is a Star Wars game. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have little things that make the world feel more alive. The game could use alot more ambiance and global changing across the planets. A night and day cycle would be a great first step. 3. Better social hubs. The Fleets make sense and I can understand why they exist, but making them the main hub through which everything else is accessed feels very limiting and the scenery gets boring pretty fast. When I first stepped into Coruscant and Kaas City during the beta test weekends, I tried to imagine how they would look with hunderds of players standing around socializing, showing off their awsome gear, playing games in the Cantinas or dueling each other in the streets. I was extremely disappointed to find out that those two places would become nothing more than somewhere you pass through while leveling, never to return to again. Everything that has to do with endgame should originate in the faction cities. Make the Fleet become the area where you go to train skills or make frequent stops to while leveling. It would have been much cooler to speak to Master Satele and Darth Malgus in person on one of the city capitols or to see them walking around every now and then instead of just talking to them from the Holo. There was a lot of potential to bring life into this game with the Star Wars theme. The only problem I have ever had was a complete lack of such things outside of the amazing cut-scenes and voice-over dialog.
  16. The full voice-over was the best and worst thing about this game. It was the best, because no one had done it in an MMO before and it was really, really good; second to none. Alot of it was better than most Hollywood movies. It was the worst, because BioWare obviously dedicated most of their resources towards making it work and the rest of the game was lacking due to that. If they were to do away with VO for future content, they would really be shooting themselves in the foot because for one, it was the major selling point for their game and two, they could have gone that route to begin with and put more effort into the rest of the game instead. I honestly believe SWTOR would have turned out better had they not done the full VO work. Or at least used it for just the class quests. That way, the rest of the game would have felt more alive outside of the cutscenes. I do remember Stephen Reid saying before launch that many of the voice actors were under contract for future work. I don't know if that still holds true or not though. I would imagine so.
  17. When I reactivated my WoW account last month. Now that I think about it, maybe those tears weren't from laughing. Hm.
  18. Get used to this kind of content as I'm sure it'll be the best they can do once the game goes free-to-play. All they'll have to do is thrown in some cool pet or adaptive armor for Cartel Coins and the free-to-players will gobble them up without a second thought as to how poorly the event was designed. I almost couldn't believe it when I read that it was ending on Tuesday. Thought for sure there would be more to it.
  19. I've done the exact same thing a few times; bouncing back and forth between Sentinel and Guardian and deleting the former to reuse the name (yeah, a name is a big deal). I have obtained too many rare items which are no longer available in game now to repeat this and I have no other characters with as much time invested in them. Unfortunately, I ended up choosing wrong in the end. I would love to be able to change my Advanced Class, but I would want it to be a one-time thing and not something that could be done, willy-nilly.
  20. I honestly doubt they have the resources or capability to continue with their beloved fouth-pillar, aka story. At least not in voice-over form. Operations, Flashpoints and Warzones will continue to make up a bulk of future content because they can be designed from the ground up in almost the same fashion. I honestly believe that BioWare shot themselves in the foot when they decided that full-voiced story dialog was going to be the pinnacle of their game. Many would agree that it is the best and worst thing about SWTOR. It's the best, because it's really, really good and something we've never seen before. It's the worst, because they obviously put more work into it than any other part of the game and it's not something you can continue to release at a reasonable pace and still maintain good quality. I imagine that preparations for future expansions and fully-voiced dialog content takes months if not years to develop. I don't imagine that we will ever see as much of it as we did with the game's initial release.
  21. Wow, this topic has been around since beta and it's still going strong! But do you guys honestly believe that same gender romance options is anywhere near the top of their priorities at the moment? With alot of the driving force in favor of adding SGR (the Doctors) all but gone, I'm more worried about romance options period, once the game goes free-to-play. Do you believe that BioWare will still be able to pull off the fully-voiced story lines for future content? And I'm not talking about the stuff they have that's already finished, but the class stories and romance arcs that will need to be created for future expansions and additions to the game? Will they stay committed to that forth-pillar that they so passionately sold the game on? Or will it be forgotten in the face of cash shops and a return to the standard MMO style of leveling where you click an NPC and read the quest text?
  22. We are no longer able to click on the object that was associated with the mission. You can still talk to the droid, but I don't know if that will be enough. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
  23. Reactivated my subscription just to try out this event and it's bugged. Go figure.
