  1. I think a part of the problem is in WoW the mob takes damage as soon as the ability goes off. If it's a casting ability, the mob takes damage as soon as casting is finished, if it's an instant ability, the mob takes damage pretty much as soon as you hit the ability. SWTOR takes a much more realistic approach. In SWTOR, mobs do not take damage until the projectile actually reaches and makes contact with the mob.

IMO, combat is much more fun in SWTOR because I'm, not just hitting the same ability over and over until the mob dies. Abilities actually have a cooldown, and I'm forced to rotate and make use of nearly ALL of my offensive abilities during combat.

To each their own though, but I definitely disagree with you about combat in this game. This game has one of the most interactive combat systems since EQ2. Nothing will ever compare to EQ2's combat system in my book. You literally had to use EVERY ability on your hotbar. Definitely made combat feel more alive rather than just pressing the same button over and over.

  2. This patch fuc*ed skill electrocuted to my sith inquisitor sorcerer. Now the ranege of this skill is only 10m, seriously giuys. Even knockback have 15m range ***? I HATE THIS!!!

All of the 4 second stun abilities have a 10 meter range. Bounty Hunter and Trooper 4 second stun ability was also reduced to 10 meters, and Imperial Agent and Smuggler 4 second stun has been 10 meters for a long time now. I don't know why you are complaining, everyone's 4 second stuns are properly balanced now.

  3. Hello everyone,

Please discuss this week's Quality of Life Improvements in Game Update 1.4 blog in this thread!

It's good to see you guys are committed to bringing new and exciting features to SWTOR, but I'd really like to see you guys add a feature that is similar to how level matching works in Guild Wars 2. It would be nice to be able to go back and do dungeons and quests with lower level friends without trivializing the content.

  4. I see a big puddle of tears I need to mop up before it starts to drown people. Please wait while I return with my cleaning equipment.

Seriously people, it's 2012. We know this F2P model is here to stay. Just because a game goes F2P doesn't mean the game is ruined. Those who pay to play will not be affected, while it opens the game up to those who want to play for free with limited access. It's not like those who play for free are going to get in there and be able to enjoy everything you do as a paying customer. A lot of services are limited, and it looks like they won't even be able to participate in Operations. It looks like to me the free to play model is being suited for those who just want to get in there and play through the class stories.

By boosts, I'm sure they mean experience boosts, and I'm sure they won't be all that expensive. I know as someone who works a lot and doesn't have much time to play, I will certainly be taking advantage of the boosts. It's not like those buying items are going to have an advantage in combat, because I just don't see them adding combat items to the store.

  5. That's easy.

Start clicking i quickly (hotkey for opening inventory)

Your FPS will drop below 5 no matter how good PC you have, especially with 9800GTX (which isn't very impressive in a first place).

My 8800 GT runs every game I throw at it maxed out, and I know a 9800 GTX is more powerful than an 8800 GT.

So, unless you have a GTX series card, it's not impressive? When did it become a requirement to have a 2010 or newer model video card for it to be "impressive"?

You know what's impressive? Max Payne 3 maxed out on an 8800 GT. You know what's not impressive? Max Payne 3 maxed out on a GTX 470 or better, because you kind of expect those cards to max anything out.

  6. NOD32, AVAST or Microsoft Security Essentials is pretty much the only way to go, coupled with Google Chrome with Ad Block and common sense, you will pretty much be immune to viruses.

I've been using computers for 16 years now and not once have I lost an installation of Windows due to a virus.
