  1. Not sure if this is the place for this, please delete if not. I do a YouTube series called Star Wars Play Time where I go back and play old Star Wars games and see how they hold up. To celebrate SWTOR's upcoming 10th anniversary, the ! I went back to remember what it was like at the beginning and talk about some of the changes over the years. I hope you like it!
  2. That moment when you've been around the SWEU so long it took a moment to realise that people are talking about the Mandalorian Darksaber, not the Hutt superweapon Darksaber
  3. I like story mode SoV the way it is. It's a challenge and you have to work out the best way to beat it. It's tricky but doable.
  4. I don't play a lot of PVP so forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the weekly PVP mission that says play X amount of warzones also says wins count for 2. Is it possible to have that in Galactic Seasons for when PVP and Galactic Starfighter games come up? Might encourage those that are only doing them because they're a daily/weekly mission to try harder to get through them quicker.
  5. I should also say that there's some locations that won't appear until you have a mission for it, like Dromund Kaas for the Jedi Knight at the end of Chapter 3.
  6. I think if one of your current missions doesn't directly say go to Planet X you can still travel there, there just might not be much there for you to do. Plus those planets are higher levels and you most probably won't have a good time there anyway.
  7. On the subject of Force sensitive Chiss...
  8. I came in here ready to blast someone as well but was pleasantly surprised lol I agree with the OP, it would be nice for Founders to get a nicer title to make it stand out from the many titles that already exist.
  9. Master Datacron affects level only. If you don't play through the story and finish the chapters you won't get the legendary status. If you use the Master Datacron and go straight to any of the other content (like KOTFE, KOTET, Onslaught, etc) the story will auto complete with certain key decisions from the story up until whatever expansion you start made for you, but it doesn't count as completing the chapters for legendary.
  10. Probably because only the class quests and planetary quests are required to make sure you level at a rate to match the planet levels. Exploration missions are essentially extra content that's there if you want to do it, but is ancillary to the story and not needed to level at a steady rate.
  11. Try playing in Australia. Downtime for me always happens in the afternoon/evening when I want to play after work. It's gotta happen sometime. They don't just pick an arbitrary time, they use game stats to see when the least amount of people are playing to minimise impact.
  12. I really liked the new Flashpoint, but Onderon and Mek-Sha were disappointing to me, especially Mek Sha, which just seemed like a knock off Rishi. I think this is the expansion we had to have, though. Somehow we've got to get from KOTFE and KOTET back to an Rep/Imp story and that doesn't happen overnight.
  13. The only place I could possibly see this being a good thing (and even then I'm not sold on it) is for group content like Ops. Myself, I'd like to play through more Ops, but I don't have the time to join a guild and get a decent group together. Group Finder's not too bad for this but you can wait for ages and not actually get a group. Being able to take companions into them would allow me to play the content. That said, this game is an MMO. You're supposed to play with others. If you want to do group content, find people to do it with. So many of the FPs these days have a story mode for you to play through with a companion and the OP droid, do we really want to do that for all the content? The game isn't hard enough for general story missions to need anything more than 1 companion, having 2 or more would be overkill. I would like to find something to do with companions though. I was collecting all of them and I have so many now and I only really use one on my main. Being able to have more than 3 crew skills and assign certain companions to them would be an interesting idea, although not without a large impact on the crafting economy. I just had an idea. Maybe something similar to Auto Chess. It's a 1v1 setup, your companions versus someone else's, with your player character in there as well. Could be interesting. It could also devolve into every companion being a healer and nobody actually winning as well haha.
  14. I don't see the need for this. Like the Devs say, if you want the story, play the game. Playing devil's advocate here but I wonder if there's some way you could just play the cut scenes and choose all the conversation options you want. Of course we'd probably get people complaining that it takes too long now.
  15. There are some rules around what you can use in a name, such as you can't use names of a lot of the characters in SW and there's some profanity filtering as well. There's rules around symbols and spaces as well (only one space and one apostrophe) and I don't think numbers can be used either. There's most probably other stuff I'm not aware of that's causing your name to be registered as invalid.
  16. Hey Kaminoguy Tactical FPs are deemed the easiest and can be done pretty easily with a group of 4 DPS. I think some of the reasoning for this was that DPS is the most common player type and they were finding that people were spending a long time in Group Finder waiting for Tanks and Healers to enter the queue so they allowed groups to match with any player type. You'll find when you get to a boss fight that there are healing objects around the room that you can interact with to heal yourself and your group. As far as I know there's no way to force GF to assemble a traditional group (2x DPS, Healer, Tank) for Tactical FPs. I don't play them so I could be mistaken here but I think that if you play Veteran FPs you do get the traditional group of DPS, Healer and Tank because they're harder. In terms of story, most FPs are self contained so they won't spoil story with the exception of the most recent FPs (Crisis on Umbara, Traitor Among the Chiss and Nathema Conspiracy) which will spoiler how the Eternal Alliance story plays out, along with the Shadow Of Revan FPs (Assault on Tython, Korriban Incursion, Depths of Manaan, Legacy of the Rakata, Blood Hunt and Battle of Rishi) which may spoil some Shadow of Revan expansion stuff, as well as minor class story and Rise of the Hutt Cartel spoilers. There's also The Battle of Ilum and The False Emperor FPs that may have some spoilers for the pre-Ilum story (this happens right after your class story) There's a few FPs that are meant to be played in sequence if you want to get the full story from it. -For Rep, Taral V should be played before Maelstrom Prison -For Imp Boarding Party should be played before The Foundry. -The Battle of Ilum should also be played before The False Emperor -For Rep, SoR Prelude FP order is Korriban Incursion, Assault on Tython, Depths of Manaan, Legacy of the Rakata -For Imp, SoR Prelude FP order is Assault on Tython, Korriban Incursion, Depths of Manaan, Legacy of the Rakata -SoR Blood Hunt then Battle of Rishi The FPs that are considered 'important' to the story also have a solo mode that you can play through when the missions call for it. For instance when you finish your starting planet and head to the Fleet, you'll find that there's a solo FP (The Essles for Rep, Black Talon for Imp) that you can do or chose to go straight to your capital planet. Same for when you player Ilum, Shadow of Revan and the Traitor story that finishes Eternal Alliance. There's also some Operations that finish stories for various areas, such as Dread Fortress and Dread Palace to finish Oricon, Temple of Sacrifice to end Shadow of Revan (solo option is available so you don't have to play the Op) and the Machine Gods Op after Iokath. These don't have solo options, though. Hope that helps.
  17. I enjoyed the two Thrawn books we've gotten in the new cannon but I've had a hard time getting into the SW books since Disney bought it. I haven't got the love for the new characters that I had for the ones I got to know in the now Legends category. I think I loved following the continuing adventures of Han, Luke and Leia, which got me into reading it, then I just stuck with it, but I don't think Disney want too much written about the main characters (or the state of the galaxy in general) because that limits what they can do in the movie and TV arenas. In particular I miss the X-Wing series and how Wedge developed in there. The brief appearances he's made in the Aftermath trilogy didn't do him justice, by which I mean he was too different from his Legends characterisation for me to get used to. The book I enjoyed the most was Dark Disciple and that was one of the first to come out. Lost Stars was good too, even with the massive jumps in time. Usually I hate it when books jump back and forward in time (I'm looking at you Last Shot). It just feels lazy, like there's multiple stories going on when I only really care about one story that's going on. I'll still be getting the third Thrawn book because I love Timothy Zahn (he was the first writer where I loved his SW books so much I got some of his other books, which are awesome too. Have a read of The Icarus Hunt and his Conqueror's Trilogy). I don't have the excitement about it that I had after reading Spectre of the Past, what with the excitement and physically needing to read Visions of the Future to find out how it all turned out.
  18. Doesn't everyone get the option to decide who they want to side with again anyway? It doesn't affect the story of Ossus from what I've seen on my toons (not Trooper, though sorry). If you're Rep and side with Imp you become a saboteur but the story is the same Rep story apart from a couple of bonus missions. Same if you're Imp and side with Rep. You still get the Imp story with a couple of different bonus missions. That's where the differences are at the moment, don't know if that will change going forward.
  19. Does anyone know what the start at 65 tokens make in regards to the Zash/Khem decision? I want to have a character that sided with Zash but my two Inquisitors both sided with Khem Val so they get Zash in the Nathema FP. I want to see that but I don't really want to play through another inquisitor story just to get that. Is there a list of some of the default decisions that get made as part of the start at 65 token?
  20. No doubt we'll get one in time. This is the first we've seen of him (in the flesh anyway) in years and this was just a prologue in the Rep vs Imp battles to come.
  21. I was able to abandon this on my JK when I played through Ossus the other day. Try and see if you can abandon it now.
  22. They could all be right in their own way. It could be that the Jedi came together from various different groups that had discovered how to use the Force. When they met they banded together and became Jedi, while still having their own distinct temples around the place (Courscant, Jedha, Tython, Ach-too, etc)
  23. The problem I had with it wasn't the story itself but how it was essentially three stories in one, Revan, the Exile, the Revan and the Exile together. None of it seemed to flow nicely. Although I will agree with you that Wraith Squadron is the best SW book series. I loved that. I wasn't sure how I'd go with the last Wraith Squadron book considering the amount of time that had passed since the last one (in universe time I'm talking about here) but a couple of flash backs helped keep some of the characters from the original books around and the new characters were worth reading about.
  24. I'm not 100% on this but I think if you do a start at 60 character you get all the abilities, you just need to visit a trainer first to get them. I've only done one start at 60 character and I think that's what I had to do. Otherwise they'll be under the Abilities menu.
