  1. There is so much excitement and anticipation among Star Wars fans... The new Obi-Wan Kenobi series is out and streaming. Mando 3, Ahsoka, Bad Bunch 2, Andor, all are coming, I just got done watching several interviews with stars Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Pedro Pascal at the Celebration convention in Anaheim on YouTube, and the fans in the audience were wild with love and passion. And yet SWTOR is gonna die a slow death?!? This is horrible. Someone with authority within the SW franchise leadership team should do something about this beloved game. I don't want to see a repeat of SWG. They're even talking about a remake of KOTOR, for crying out loud. I hope we'll eventually get some good news on SWTOR. There's really nothing else exciting in MMOs now, at least as far as I'm concerned. I have GW2, WoW, Diablo 3, ESO, and FFXIV installed on my PC. I haven't played any of them for months now, have only been subbed to SWTOR and playing it exclusively. I sure hope I'll not have to give up on this one too, not any time soon.
  2. I always scroll down to pick the companion I want. For crew skill missions, I like to start from the bottom, where the lowest Influence characters are, and move my way upward, in an effort to even out their influence level as much as possible. I do have an exception, for a favorite I always send out first, no matter what character I currently play: Lana Beniko.
  3. A few ideas: - More story updates (7.0 Legacy of the Sith was a joke. So short. Malgus such a wuss). - New areas on existing planets - and open-world spaces on new ones we can explore. - More solo-friendly activities - FPs currently not accessible, Heroic missions, etc. - Moddable gear !! (WORST idea was to remove them) - maybe a couple levels lower than highest boss drops. - Major Anri as a permanent companion (I love her voice and attitude)!
  4. I don't care about the 2nd combat style, because it's permanent, so it is not so useful. Except for Stealth. I think I'll add a stealth-capable style to each of my toons who don't already have it, 'cause some of the missions and FPs are so annoying without that capability. What I'd like to have is the capability to *freely* boost all alt toons to L70. To unlock this feature, you'd need to have taken at least one character through *all* current expansions, *and* have capped that toon's level to 80. Once you've done that, then you can opt to boost any and all other characters as described above. If in addition you have taken 1 character through a particular origin/class story, then you can boost another character through that storyline *and* the remaining expansion storylines up to level 70, earned all the companions you'd normally have earned by then too. That's something I'd really like to have.
  5. I did not blame them for my mistake. I came here to vent some frustration because the proffered help was so inadequate: 1. The support ticket was slow to be addressed, prompting me to try the phone support service. That service was barely intelligible, hard to properly communicate through, and ultimately totally useless to an in-game experience. 2. Before the ticket was resolved, I got tired of waiting and purchased more Cartel Coins so I could get a Master's Datacron. I submitted another ticket and told them what I had done, and asked if I could get a refund or an exchange, i.e. from the Commander's Character Token to another Master's Datacron. That answer came back quickly: because I had "used" the Token (I had mentioned I thought I had bought an existing character boost, so I had clicked on the item in my inventory, yet had not actually gone ahead and done any boosting, of course) - there would be no refund, sorry, thank you for playing our game. Bah humbug. So I now have an additional Boosted Character (L70) slot I can use anytime I want. And a Datacron that I did use to boost my existing character to 70, without skipping any storyline. I still think BW could made things clearer (why didn't the game warn me when I clicked on the first item, the Token, so that I'd know what was going to happen next). It's all digital stuff anyway - why can't they take away the new, unused L70 Boosted Character slot, and either refunded my CCs, or allowed me to exchange it for another Datacron? In both instances, I still rate the whole experience a FAIL. I'm still a subscriber, will continue to play the game, until I get bored with it. But now I'll be extra careful when - or if - purchasing items on the Cartel Market, and to not expect any relief should I make another mistake. Caveat Emptor, as they say.
  6. Agreed on all points above. One other thing: have you noticed when you board a taxi or speeder bike transport now (in the new content), you're shown the boarding cutscene, then the screen blanks out, then you get the landing/offboarding scene? In the original stories content areas, we were treated to the full trip from start to finish, with terrain, buildings, beasts roaming the wilds, enemy troops lurking below or zipping by. That was beautiful. Is beautiful. But no, we don't get those in the new content zones. Por que? Edit/PS: I loved the fast zooming around over the icy expanses of Hoth, the gorgeous cityscapes of Nar Shadaa, the skyscrapers canyons of Coruscant, etc, etc. So sad the new zones no longer give us those treats.
  7. Ah OK, that was a mistake from my end then. Still, when I clicked on the item, it should have popped up a message telling me I now have an extra character slot, or something to that effect. Instead, absolutely nothing happened, and I'm left to my own devices, without a clear indication as to what had happened. I still feel frustrated with the whole experience. The customer is not always right, but they should be made to feel so, and I don't believe SWTOR overall does a very good job of that.
  8. When I buy something off the Cartel Market, I want to be able to access it, use it, enjoy it immediately. I am a subscriber and a security key user, so I do get my monthly allotment of "free" Cartel Credits. But I also buy CCs with my hard-earned real money, and I sure would like to enjoy those items/utilities I purchase in-game immediately. Well, after some deliberations I purchased some CCs in order to get a Commander's Character Token. I wanted to boost a character from L40 to L70 so that she could continue to level up her Synthweaving crew skill (and create gear she can wear and share with her Legacy brethren), without having to go through the story lines, which I'd already experienced on another, level capped character. After all the anticipation and getting ready for an extended, pleasurable crafting session, I got the token into her inventory and clicked on it. The token disappears, but nothing seems to have have happened. After verifying that the token was not transferred into her vault storage, the legacy storage, and her guild storage, ascertaining that she was still L40 and wearing her initial gear, I logged out, logged back in, quit the game, launched it back up, re-logged in, all these steps repeated several times. No luck. My token has disappeared, and I have nothing to show for it. I can't go on with my gaming session, really don't feel like it, after this disappointment. I sent in a support ticket. No immediate response. I hunt down and locate the SWTOR support phone number. The person who answered was no help, it's an in-game issue, she says, I have to wait for a response to my ticket there. I had a bad time understanding her, she had a very heavy accent, our connection was very scratchy and difficult to communicate through. She couldn't tell me how long I'd have to wait for a response, could not offer any help. I felt the whole episode was a total waste of my time - purchasing the item, trying to make use of it, attempting to get help from the company. So instead of playing I'm now on the Forums complaining about the incident. It's a bummer. This Cartel Market experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. I'll be extra hesitant before I next make a purchase there. And I got a lousy experience from my first time ever contacting Customer Service. The whole thing is sad and unfortunate. CSR is where companies market themselves best to existing and potential customers. I develop, set up, and manage websites for clients for a living. I get instant, expert, professional help - most via client support chat channels - from the web hosting companies I use and recommend to my clients. They ask me every time to tell them who would give them the best services and prices. If I were evaluating BioWare in such a situation, I'd give it a failing score, and wouldn't even mention it to a prospective customer. BioWare should look into this, and make the whole experience better for us. There are just too many competing games out there, there's no room for such a poor user experience, none whatsoever. End of rant.
  9. I think I read somewhere how they went away from mod-able gear to solve some RNG problems, but I no longer remember the details why. Anyone care to explain or link to a dev post explaining their decision?
  10. I agree 100%. I play MMOs to experience dynamic content, trading, creating and progressing different characters, classes, interacting with friends, meet new people, live out fantasy adventures, see and marvel at sights that I would never see in real life, do things I could never hope to tackle IRL. But most of the time I do it in SOLO mode. And SWTOR has been a great STORY-DRIVEN game, and I love the Star Wars universe, and truly enjoy playing a Jedi, Sith, Smuggler, Trouper, etc. But I don't want to be FORCED to GROUP to progress along the story lines. So Yeah, please tune down those crazy, die-die-die-again-till-you-master-the-mechanics fights. The more of those you have, the more frustrated your casual players get, the more of them will give up and unsub. It's not really rocket-science, it's just common (and business) sense.
  11. What BioWare should do is copy WoW's Transmog system and be done with it...
  12. I **hated** Echoes of Oblivion. Not so much Spirit of Vengeance. But EoO has horrible pathing - like many here, I don't play a game to get stressed out, and I definitely was on edge the whole time trying not to fall off those narrow passages.
  13. The Gemini Captain is a tough one. My Sith Assassin died several times before I figured out how to best her: 1. Get Senya's influence as high as possible (buy the Commander's Compendium from the Cartel Market and use it on her if you can/want). Set her on healing. 2. Try to run outside of the AOEs she throws down. 3. Interrupt her poison/knockback spells. 4. When the 4 clones appear, try to note which appears last - attack that one, the others will disappear. That clone also has a health bar that's different from the others, same thing, attack it hard and fast. 5. Learn all your active and defensive spells well, and move fast. Speed and accuracy are keys. Good luck, you'll get her eventually. :-) Here are a couple of good videos for the fight:
  14. Thanks, that's a relief to find out. "Immediate Vengeance" is another FP that appears Purple in my Mission Log. Maybe it's for the Imperial side only. Here's some info about it: https://torcommunity.com/database/mission/RcZyKvQ/immediate+vengeance/ However, reading the tasks involved, it seems that my character had already done the Directive 7 FP some time before. I'll find out as I go on the mission, I guess.
  15. I typically play solo, but have run into this Op in Onslaught. I'll attempt to continue with the Flashpoints "Immediate Vengeance" and "Spirit of Vengeance" that have come up as well. My question is, if I don't do the "Evolving Opportunities" Op, will I run against a wall eventually and can't go on to Legacy of the Sith?
  16. Methinks BioWare needs to emulate the customer relations programs that Square Enix has for their FFXIV game. They (Square Enix) are very good with responding to players' comments and requests, and put in a lot of time and effort disclosing a clear road map for their game. Compared to them, BioWare is very, very opaque, and is far from clear on what their customers can expect within the next several months, let alone any long term strategies.
  17. Copied from my own post in Bug Reports: As of yesterday 04.17.22 this quest is still a bear to complete. I'd not done this story line yet, but my Sith Assassin was already level 80. Even at this capped level (and wearing ilevel 320 gear), I died multiple times because Malgus would not be able to stay alive, after he'd pulled every mob in the room where Master Medeen is. I eventually was able to whittle them down by repeatedly running back and forth out of my personal content area, coming back in with a resurrected Malgus, kill a few more Jedis, run back out (after Malgus dies again), coming back in, rinse, repeat. Until I could finally square off against Medeen by himself and kill him. The next Jedi master (Adegan?) was just as much a chore, except this time I had further to run out and come back in. This should definitely get a rework/rebalance tweak, hopefully by the time I bring an alt through again it'll have been done. :-(

  19. I've only just finished the Nathema Conspiracy FP on my highest level toon, a Sith Assassin. I shudder to think what it would be like to repeat it with a non-stealth character. I too have not picked second combat skill for any of my toons, because I don't want to get stuck with one I can't change later. Question: say you have a 2nd stealth combat skill. You can't switch back to the other one while going through a FP, right? So the fact that you have stealth is not really that useful, if you prefer tackling bosses with your other skill setup. Is that correct, or am I missing something?

    Help!

I wouldn't even pretend to know what your problem is, but I can offer this insight: I had lots of trouble with this game and several others crashing on a regular basis, with all kinds of error messages that were as nebulous as each other. All the tests I tried to do told me everything on my PC was fine: the motherboard, the RAM memory, the disk drives, etc. Eventually I bit the bullet and purchased new RAM sticks and started replacing the old ones with these. BINGO. The problems went away. Everything has been running smoothly - with every game - ever since. Conclusion: do not trust all the software tests that claim to be able to troubleshoot for you. Sometimes you just have to start taking out the hardware part by part and replacing it with new ones.
  21. Thanks for your response. I found a couple posts that explained that any extra conquest points go to your guild's conquest achievements, and that you don't get any extra rewards beyond what you got for reaching 100K points. SWTOR is a pretty good MMO, but leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to properly explaining how its myriad reward and currency systems work, IMO.
  22. My personal conquest progress bar shows 170K/100K. Do I continue trying to meet objectives? Is there any benefit to doing so? I'm a long unsubscribed returning player, so I'm a bit nebulous on many facets of the game, would appreciate any pointers.
  23. Shades of Star Wars Galaxies? I was there when that game died, was a launch subscriber as well, and it was a very, very painful experience. I hope SWTOR does not repeat that tragic end.
  24. I don't remember anything about 6.0. All I know is that I had 1 Mercenary at L50 from way back when. Maybe I signed back on as a F2P customer during 6.0. In any event I didn't stay long enough to accomplish anything. When I just resubbed recently to check out 7.0, the highest level toon I had was still that L50 Mercenary. :-)
