  1. Actually, combat animations need a start point and an end point. If you change the ready stance, the start point shifts, which means that, in order for attacks to look fluid and natural, every animation would need to be redone, otherwise there would be a stutter at the start of each attack, where the character jumps into his standard stance before attacking. It would have been great to have more variety in saber stances, but it's the sort of thing that should have been added while the game was being developed because it would involve a fair amount of extra work to implement it now.
  2. I already use a gamepad for standard gameplay (with a keyboard emulator) and it works very well, so yes, native gamepad/joystick support at least for space gameplay (and possibly ground gameplay as well) would be great
  3. **Please note that Cartel Market updates are dynamic. Changes listed in Patch Notes may take effect up to several days after the patch is made available.** They've taken to saying this every time a patch includes both game changes and CM changes, because the CM is updated independently of the game. There is no download when CM content is changed.
  4. On my 11th alt, and almost ready for my 12th As for the original question, yeah, class story is really the only thing that keeps me in this game. Gameplay is rather heavy and doesn't really have the proper 'Jedi' feel to it: probably the only class that really feels as I'd expect is Commando (because you've got a great big cannon, so you expect it to feel heavy ). But there's so much class story that it's kept me interested for over a year and still has a fair amount of content for me to explore by making different choices (I did Inquisitor and Agent twice each and currently have my second Warrior and second Consular in the works). But once I've exhausted all the enjoyment I can extract from the class stories I will leave. I'm expecting that by then ESO will be out, but I might return to TOR after a few new planets have been added, just to experience the planetary stories once on either side. New class stories, on the other hand would certainly get me to renew my sub and play through all 8 at least once, and probably with all of my characters.
  5. I did... and it was horrible because there was no sense of companionship. The only thing that held the guild together was a combined desire to do endgame content. I left 2 weeks later and never looked back
  6. I do stay away from operations, because the few times I tried to do them, I ended up sitting on the fleet for over 2 hours waiting for the group to form, then I had to leave
  7. The point is to make the whole game accessible to everyone: if you can get a group together, that's great, and the difficulty of the quests scales up, as do the rewards, but if you can't get a group or you have a limited time to play and so can't afford to wait for hours until a group forms, then the choice of whether to do these missions is taken away from you. I generally play dps, I've got a friend who plays healer and another who's a tank and we often do fp's together, which means we only wait a couple of seconds for another dps to join, but if even just one of those friends isn't online, there's very little point queueing for fp's because the odds are I'll have to leave the game before a group forms. I do prefer single player games, not because there aren't any other players around but because I can do what I want when I want without being forced to seek out 3, 7 or 15 other players for 20-40 minutes of gameplay before I go back to playing alone.
  8. I know you're being facetious, but... this is not a bad idea When I want to play a flashpoint or operation, I want to play it now, not wait an hour or more for a healer or tank to join groupfinder, at which point there's a good chance that I won't have time to complete the mission because I've got to get on with RL stuff
  9. The macrobinocular quests when hunting the Shroud already do this: they can be done solo, in which case they're solo quests, but if you enter the phase with a group, the quest scales to the size of the group and becomes a group quest. I support this, but EA have already shown their unwillingness to change how existing aspects of the game work. They might (hopefully) add this for more future quests, but it's unlikely that they'll go back and rework the existing quests.
  10. And where would he store this rocket launcher, considering that he's already got a great big cannon strapped to his back?
  11. And if someone starts shooting at you with a ranged weapon and you strafe out of the way, the blaster bolts magically swerve and hit you anyway. It's just the way the game works: it determines hits and misses at the moment that the attack begins rather than when it reaches its target
  12. Conversations with companions on your ship already do this, so yeah, should be easy enough. I often feel that my character's being quite rude by keeping his helmet on when speaking to his CO or whatever
  13. Those people are idiots Also, if you create a new character, you have to go through the hassle of levelling, doing the planetary side missions, fp's, space missions, pvp... whatever you do to gain levels and you can't really settle down and enjoy the class story for what it is
  14. I didn't play the beta, but every time I hear something about it, it seems that the game was so much more detailed and more 'realistic', shall we say, and everything was removed because players complained that they didn't want their choices to have any sort of meaningful impact on their gameplay experience
