  1. Self explanatory, the launcher is giving me an unspecified error so I can't even contact support to give them any information. If the game is overcrowded then wow this game is more popular than it ever was with roughly 10K players playing an outdated (32bit) MMO on outdated server with an exceptionally outdated HERO engine. Seriously, the game runs 2 processes to maintain use of resources a 32bit application is unable to use. Pathetic, really, HERO engine has been updated to 64bit around 3 years ago but EA/BioWare didn't pay for an update so they are stuck with 32bit engine. This is laughable and I am glad I cancelled my subscription. EA/BioWare are unable to deliver ANY sensible content, the next expansion will be a joke like KOTET and KOTFE. The Forged Alliance is a joke. @BioWare: DYIs will NOT help the game, it will just start melting the CPU.
  2. As it says, at this point assembly components are restricted to specific crafting skill, while majority uses exactly the same materials as many other skills. This makes very little sense, tools will be tools, they can be used for different things but their function doesn't change as a tool. A wrench will always stay a Wrench even though it sometimes is used as a weapon. Each crafter will still craft their Assemblies but those assemblies should be usable by other skills that use the same materials. Armormech, Armstech and Cybertech use pretty much the same materials. Solution is pretty much simple. Allow all assemblies that use the same materials to be used by skills that use them. Generally speaking all assemblies up to lvl 10 use basic materials, you still need advanced materials to make items WITH the assemblies so what's the point of restricting it like this ? The entire Crafting redesign to force assemblies is a stupid idea anyway, those assemblies are literally the only thing that changed in the crafting system, you no longer allow learning schematics from bought mods, you created a completely new set of mods that overtook the old ones (even though I still have some on my older characters and up to lvl 50 they are pretty competitive) so why did you make changes that actually benefit no one ? Just more credits to spend on new schematics because of new META ?
  3. A Terminal allowing players that have multiple characters that have maxed out crafting skills would be very beneficial to allow some level of cross character crafting at least for weapon/armor mods. Players could send their own companions to craft a weapon or armor mod as if they were sent on a mission. Same could be done with dispatching missions, double the time and credits cost maybe as penalty but it would certainly be better that constantly swapping characters just to send companions on missions. It's a different way if you swap out cuz you want to play the class, but different when you simply get annoyed at so much time wasted just to craft something or to simply send companions on missions because you need some mats. With the way this games crafting is so badly designed and keeps getting worse by constantly being redesigned to be more and more restrictive a small change like this would probably make things better.
  4. I have so many items in my cargo and legacy that finding something is sometimes insanely hard, a search bar function would have solved so many things, many MMOs have those or allow mods that allow such things like WoW. However BioWare/EA are so scared that someone might actually start fixing their game that they won't allow mods ever. You (developers) try to make this game as interesting as possible, but you deny more and more functions from Free to play players and still don't improve on quality of life for subscribers. It's actually not a lot of work to implement search mechanisms for inventory, but I guess you never thought of making this game easier for all players.
  5. So what got broken so hard that you need another maintenance right about when I have some free time ? Asking cuz you sure didn't fix the lag issues people have everywhere except Voss cuz hardly ever anyone goes to Voss. After a week of waiting for a reply for my ticket I found out that despite everyone having the same issue as me, exactly the same issues with lag after the previous maintenance, turns out it's OUR fault, the players. I got a list of stuff I NEVER had to do with ANY other MMO or online game to see if that solves my issue. How about NO? How about you fix your constantly shrinking server capacity policy, surely that is not the issue right ?
  6. So after analysing the lag spike situation I've come to a conclusion that this game's servers cannot handle the amount of players it currently maintains. Assuming same amount of players on both sides go to a single planet and assuming a single instance holds up to 200 players per side (Because I NEVER seen more than 150 at a single time) per instance. We can safely assume the developers AXED the server capacity again which in turn is causing this insurmountable amount of lag. I mean, really ? You announce a new Expansion, and you AXE server capacity at the same time ? BioWare is gone, my sub is done, good day to everyone. Smiles and Rainbows.
  7. Yeah I love my shadow too, I used to love my sorcerer but always thought what it would be like to be a saberstaff using tank. It's definitely fun to sneak into the crowd of enemies and start dealing damage and keeping up the aggro is actually both easier than on my guardian (focus generation and spending it is a hurdle) so being a force using tank feels much better for me. Shadow generates a lot of force, even if quickly spending it, which is actually pretty damn awesome for tanking and the light armor vs heavy armor as tanking is not even much of an issue. Worst case scenario I can phase walk out of trouble and blackout And if you want to avoid battle as much as possible you just sneak around. A WIN-WIN situation.
  8. No need for flame suit. That mechanic works as intended and anyone arguing about it would be bantha fodder. Personally I think this is a correct result and should never be changed. Damage over time should last a locked amount. In this case 18 seconds. What possibly alacrity could change here ? Nothing at all, first of all Alacrity is only supposed to affect cast time and cooldowns. It's not supposed to affect the length of the DOT up time. If someone on BioWare would like to experiment on allowing to extend the ticks over time I would suggest Surge for this. If by some chance the uptime of the DOT would be extendable I wouldn't like this at all, I wouldn't like to shorten it as well. My Sorc doesn't really give a damn about dots uptime because as madness specc he simply just plays the Emperor Lightning stance and uses crushing darkness with all other dots and keeps lightning up. Easy as pie. But for Shadow/Assassin DOT damage is not exactly something to rely on, as I don't have a SIN I'll refer to my Shadow. Serenity uses force technique to take advantage of the force abilities more than melee abilities. This means lower cooldowns and sometimes even instant casts on time cast dots. ATM Surge rating only has an actual single use, it increases the damage/heal of critical strikes. Unless you go all out with crit rating and surge this stat is of utter waste, as melee will sooner simply go power to maintain a constant high damage amount. As said you can also forsake power stat and go for crit/surge combo to make sure you deal crit hits often and they hurt. Personally I feel bad for Surge stat because of that since it has a small growth and is actually needed in high amounts to actually make a dent look like a hole Therefore I wouldn't mind using Surge rating to actually increase ticks per length for DOT/HOT uptime. This would mean DOTs and HOTs will deal more damage/heals in the same time. If only by one more tick. Base damage of course doesn't change and is still affected by main stat and auxiliary (crit/power/surge) stats. But this way a high surge rating is actually more rewarding than it already is. I also seen an experiment on youtube where someone uses a Sorc, beefs it up with Power and counts total damage over 120 of uptime, and then switching to crit/surge "optimized" stats which resulted in not so much improvement. Power after all increases damage on constant value, when crit/surge increases the odds of dealing crit damage and surge only increases this value by a moderate amount. This still leaves it to chance of getting a crit strike, and when it hits, it hurts like hell. Which is why I am not a big fan of prit/surge builds. I believe surge has too little value (it's definitely not worthless, but it's underwhelmed) as a general stat. I would give it a chance to increase it's actually useful reputation to a better one where casters like healers and sorc/sage players could abuse this stat a little more with a power/surge combo by increasing the tick amounts over time. I am totally against increasing or lowering D/Hots uptime, but there are ways to making it a little bit more advantageous for players to simply invest in high power and surge to surprise enemies with more ticks. I see a nice potential of this in PVE and a definitely good idea to make a mess of in PVP
  9. I would really appreciate if you worked this out somehow, so many other games allow this kind of status check without the need to log into the game. The available information would consist of the following only: -A visual of character look. (jpeg or png snapshot with weapons drawn) -Gear equipped (armour and weapons) -Stats (only the character stats like health, main stat, defense/offense and auxiliary stats.) -Possibly alignment. -Title. -Guild. -maybe credits. -Crew Skills level. I believe this would be very appreciated by many players to keep track of their stuff without the need of constantly logging in and out just to check what is what and what they miss.
  10. In the video she was not a master yet, and Malgus was a pup then as well, years of battle make people stronger, so I don't care if she's weaker or stronger, I still want to fight her, one way or another, but I don't see a reason to kill her off. Personally I like her a lot, unlike many other Jedi masters she is reasonable and understands that life is not about constant Jedi Code version of peace, but also not like Sith Code version of war. If I had to chose I would actually prefer her to become Grey Jedi Order secret representative in the republic if BioWare will ever want to adapt a neutral faction (Which they should eventually do) simply because she seems more grey than light. The way she raised Kira is also interesting, she allowed her to be the way she was, and I can only say that Kira is pretty skilled as a DPS. So there you have it, Shan shouldn't be killed off, but I would love to have a skirmish with her in the Ancient Jedi Temple grounds Flashpoint. *wink win* *nudge nudge* BioWare, I just gave you 3 ideas that will kind of make this game much more interesting, lets see what you do with it hah.
  11. We get to kick Malgus's bony back but why not test ourselves against Satelle ? For republics it could be like going to the ancient temple grounds and going through some trials to fight her at the end as a test of abilities and for imperials it could be the same place but the imperial team interrupts the trials and gets to fight her at the end as well. Killing her is not a necessity but I would like to test myself against her, i mean, how many time do I have to beat up Malgus ? I'm tired of his face, i vote for Ancient Jedi Tempe Trials lvl 50 (+50 Hard Mode, +55 hard Mode) With Satelle Shan at the end. Anyone else up for it ?
  12. Kudos for missing the point, and yes I played WOW. In WoW you don't get kicked out of teh raid instance. What is the point of kicking the player out of the instance on release is beyond me, if not other than wasting players time. I played all Raids in WoW till Pandas came, I left the game then. I agree that raids in WoW were LARGE. But when you died and released you were sent back to teh raid starting point, not outside of it. Also comparing WoW to SWTOR: WoW loadtime is incredibly short in comparison to SWTOR. About bugs since beta: minor: Hor ny Fess, flying players (the invisible chair/speeder even during combat), standing corpses. medium: seemingly impossible to fix HK-47 Forge battle where he can kill you in one hit even for 0 damage. Koan under siege: unhittable base entrance guards, large aggro range of some of teh walkers (rare), major: EV Final Boss not resetting after wipe, as mentioned above, but you probably didn't read that since it was there. Other bugs list can be found easily on the net. If you know how to use google that is. I'm a fan of Star Wars but seeing how much time BioWare spends on patches and more items, I rarely see any fixes at all.
  13. Please change that to revive at teh start of teh area like in FPs, if you want to lock players out of the returning to combat in the OPs there is a simple way to do it, place force fields and done, or doors that close on combat start. Forcing players to release on wipe and sending them out is double loading screen which only takes time. Also, reviving at the start of an area is easier for players instead of going all teh way through the OPs even with your generous speeders, it's still time wasted. At this point this is the most annoying thing in the OPs that make me reluctant to do them at all. I'm not an OPs regular because they are incredibly time consuming, especially when you go full pug, simply because of time stolen deliberately for loading screens. Not many people realize it but every load screen takes over teh data cache and everything gets to be re-loaded every damn time. And considering the amount of bugs that roam free to this day (since Beta time) I'm terribly disappointed because of that, some of the bugs in OPs make them incomplete-able (EV Last Boss not resetting after wipe is very discouraging, especially when it's a weekly). If at least that mechanic would be changed it would save up a lot of time for OPs and many more players would be able to enjoy that, since not everyone uses a rig, instead they use "fast" *cough*trash*cough* laptops which only increase their load time. No offense, but even teh fastest Laptop pales in speed and efficiency of a half decent gaming rig. So yeah, after 2 years, you could think of making this game at least a little more convenient.
  14. I wouldn't mind a fully controllable progress of my companions but in so many cases this doesn't work just right. As for an earlier Cathar Female Companion... If she will look like most players make their chars, I'll pass.
